User permissions not changing in BI Publisher

We have configured BIP's security model to use Oracle BI Server. In the BI Server we have an authorization block that returns the user's groups to BI Publisher. The problem that I have encountered is that in order for the group to appear in BI Publisher (to secure folders) we have to also add that same group in BI Server (which is empty). If we add or change memberships in the database table those user changes don't appear in BIP unless I checkout and check in that group in BI Server.

Have you find the solution for this? I think that I have an look like problem. I want that, when the parameter is null, query return all values. Like this:
where ((:P_Store IS NULL) OR (store in (:P_Store)))
Can please help me with this?
Thanks

  • Renamed menu item not changed when site published.

    I changed the name of my site welcome page back to Welcome (it was "Readings"). But when I publish, "Readings" is still the menu name even though I have used ftp to completely deleted all the published files. So somehow iWeb is keeping the old name. How do I get iWeb to smarten up???

    I'm not using MobileMe. I'm publishing the site to http://members.shaw.ca/tealeafreading/MandasTea_LeafReading/Welcome.html
    I've run through your suggestions, results as follows....!
    Erasing the Safari cache generally does not work: changes are not displayed on the published site.
    Publishing the entire site to a folder produces the correct content.
    Even if I empty the cache and use FTP to delete the server copy of the site ... the changes do not propagate to the server!!!
    What seems to work most often is powering down my Mac.

  • AD users permissions not propagating correctly.

    I have a 10.5 server bound to an AD domain as a member server. In workgroup manager, I have a number of OD groups created. Some contain purely OD users, some only AD users, some a mixture of both OD and AD users. I assign ACLs by groups to a shared folder. If I assign any group containing an AD users giving it R&W or full control, it propagates the the daughter files as "custom" permissions. When my AD users access the share over SMB, their effective permission is read only. I do not have this problem for any group with OD users only. A group with OD and AD users propagates as "custom" permissions as well with actual effective permissions as read only.
    Any ideas how this should be rectified?

    One last thing:
    I've also noticed that the groups that are giving me issues when I look at their get info has a group at the top of the access list. The group is above 'users' and is named 704224ee-fdff-....... and has a custom level of control. This wasn't there before I propagated things, but nothing has changed.

  • Authentication of users is not done in BI Publisher?

    Hi,
    In rpd i have written the query as
    select LOGIN_USER_ID,GROUP_NAME from users1 where LOGIN_USER_ID=':USER'(i.e for external table authentication) in new initialization block in session and tried....this works fine in OBI Presentation services by not giving any password or given any password.
    In BI Publisher with out giving null password if any password is given its working.
    Now i need to restrict the user based on giving password in data base
    select LOGIN_USER_ID,GROUP_NAME from users1 where LOGIN_USER_ID=':USER' and PASSWORD=':PASSWORD' in initialization block (this works fine for OBI Presentation Services but doesnt work for BI Publisher).

  • Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory User can not change their password

    Our AD domain already having two domain controllers with windows 2008 (not R2),  last week we added one more domain controler with windows 2008 R2 for that we run domain prep and forestprep. After this domain no  users can change their password by pressing ALT+CTRL+Del--Change password. Administrators can still reset the password, and if administrator provide the option change password and at next logon, it works, users can reset the password. But after login they can not.
    The error telling the new password does not meet length,complexity, history requirements. We are sure their is no Group policy which setting password/account policy. And even we tried to attach a simple password policy domain level with out complexity.
    Please provide a feedback..waiting for your response.
    Thanks

    additional info: up to Server 2008 R2, Windows ONLY supports ONE Password policy PER Domain. (exept: the R2 supports more pw-policies, but not with gpo, it has to be congifured with ADSI-Editor)
    So, in case you still use the 2008 / R2 - you Need to know that ;))

  • User Pictures not changing

    So I decided to change my user picture from an apple standard to a photobooth picture. However, the button in photobooth seems to do nothing. When I open up system prefs and set it manually (select the picture, adjust the size, hit "set"), it changes in the well, but not in the list to the right (like it does when I set and apple picture) and when I quit out of system preferences my changes are GONE.
    Anyone have a fix for this?
    thanks!

    Try logging out and back in. Or, restart.

  • Document user status not changed from follow-up document

    Hi gurus!
    My task is to set new user status of primary document (service order) from follow-up document (task) after follow-up document is created.
    To do this I've created Badi-impl. of ORDER_SAVE Badi and in PREPARE method when saving newly created follow-up task I'm setting new service order user status using 'CRM_ORDER_CHANGE_STATUS' function. sy-subrc = 0 and, moreover, when in SAP GUI I'm pressing "Back" button I see new user status in  service order. But after I'm pressing "Change" or re-open the service order - I see the old user status, so nothing happens at all.
    Why could it be?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Alexander Kirillov

    Hello Szymon,
    The solution is:
    1. CALL 'CRM_STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN_OW'
    2. If ok - CALL 'CRM_STATUS_SAVE_OW' passing relevant header/ item GUID

  • GPO User settings not changing IE 8 settings windows 7

    Good Afternoon,
    We have several IE 8 settings that need to be adjusted for a particular application. We have them configured in a IE GPO. I have enabled and linked this IE GPO to the top child domain level, xxx.xxxroot.com. I ran a gpupdate on the enduser's pc. I have verified
    that the GPO does get applied by gpresult in the User Configuration. When I check the IE settings, none of them have been adjusted.
    How do I get IE settings applied via a GPO?
    Thank You
    Debra Hodgkins

    Hi,
    In addition to the point mentioned by Gbillig, please also pay attention to the GPO Priority, Local GPO, site, domain and OU, local GPO is processed first, see this link

  • Can not change user filed in CR Viewer

    I am using Crystal Reports 2011 and i created a user field. i opened the report in CR viewer 2008 and the change filed is greyed out and the user can not change the field. I have tried saving the report with out a date saved in the report to see if viewer will prompt for a date but the report will not let me take it out now that it is set. i have checked options on the filed and it is set to editable. Is there something i am over looking? How can i get the user fields to work in crystal reports viewer?

    thanks for helping.
    viewer 2008 is the only thing i can find right now, i thought that might be the problem but i can not find a 2011 to download so i assumed they dont have it available yet.
    the report does work in CR2011 but we can not get CR for everyone, and they are not going to use it, they only need viewer if it will work.
    the parameter is a date field based off a database field.
    thanks.

  • User is not able to change his own password... Only DBA can change users password ??

    Hi,
    I have this problem today.I am using Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris 2.8
    A Oracle user say " SCOTT" trying to change his password but could not.. he gets the followling message
    SQL> alter user scott identified by abc123;
    alter user scott identified by abc123
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-28003: password verification for the specified password failed
    Scott's profile has password_verfiy function. Hence i thought abc123 password was not matching with the password verify condition. Surprisingly, what ever password SCOTT tries with, he could get the same error message and could not change his password.. Ultimatly SCOTT could never change his password. How is it possible ??
    It is noteworthy to mention that if i give DBA role to SOCTT then he can change his password with abc123 or any thing that satisfies with password verification function.
    Now Only a user who has DBA role or a DBA could change passwords..
    Can somebody through some light on it and explain what corrective action to be taken so that Users can change their password without DBA's interreption.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Srini

    <PRE>
    This is the description of the error message:
    =============================================================================
    ORA-28003 password verification for the specified password failed
    Cause: The new password did not meet the necessary complexity specifications
    and the PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION failed.
    Action: Enter a different password. Contact the database administrator to find
    out the rules for choosing the new password.
    =============================================================================
    it clearly says that password has to match the complexity specifications. You will not be able
    to change password without meeting the complexity requirements.
    DBA's can make the change to the password because if DBA's can not change the password, it could lock
    you out of the database (all users including the DBA's) and you will not be able to access the
    database.
    Try removing the password verify function and see if you can then change the password succssfully.
    </PRE>
    hi Prakash,
    The verify password function is standard oracle function and I do not think the current problem is any way related to the rules that were framed in verify password function. The key point here is a user could not change his own password. But a DBA or a user who has ALTER USER system privs.. can do so..

  • Restrict the user should not allow to select No Excise entry tab in MIGO

    Hi
    how to restrict the user should not allow to select No Excise entry tab in MIGO
    if the material Excisable user can bale to select the No Excise entry tab in MIGO . my requirement .... if the Pop come Please enter Excise Invoice number and Excise Invoice Date user should not change the No Excise how to restrict pls advise me
    @sakhi

    These are the options provided by SAP keeping in mind Indian Scenario. Sometimes, vendor forget to send excise invoice copy with the material, in such case, you can select 'Only Part I'.
    Even if you have maintain vendor excise details & material excise details (By mistake) in J1ID, system will throw an error message, excise invoice value is zero. In such case, we can select option 'No excise entry'.
    Your requirement can't be fulfilled in standard way. Even if you go for any Z- developement, you will lose the option.

  • DANGER: Do Not Change Hard Drive Ownership and Permissions

    DANGER: Do Not Change Hard Drive Ownership and Permissions (Unless you know what you are doing... I didn't!)
    FIRST, THE REPAIR PERMISSIONS SOLUTION:
    Use Disk Utilities on the "Sofware Install and Restore" DVD that came with your computer to set the permissions back to the defaults. Not the MacOSX Installation Disk. (This worked in MacOS 10.3.9)
    MY SCREW UP
    In my Hard Drive's "Get Info" dialog I switched the permissions of the Owner to my username and all others to no access. I had not yet closed the dialog and decided that it was probably dangerous so I started changing them back. I first changed the owner back to system. It asked for authentication.
    After entering my password I assumed that I would be able to go back and change the others as well. Nope! The dialog disappeared, my desktop disappeared and I couldn't do anything. I was locked out.
    After ten minutes of the beachball I restarted to the "Panther Installation disk" and tried repairing permissioins using disk utility. Evertime it "lost contact" with the system and would not work. Restarting (without CD) took me to a root user login (black sreen). My username and password did nothing.
    THE SOLUTION
    I then restarted to the "Software Install and Restore" DVD that came with my computer and used its Disk Utility to repair permissions. IT WORKED! It set permissions back to the default. THANK GOD.
    NOTE: I wonder, will using the Install and Restore DVD to repair permissions reset any computer's files to the defaults? Is that a backdoor into someones currently restricted files and folders? (Assuming that you have physical access and the computer specific DVD)

    Using the Repair Permissions function will not change the permissions on an account's home folder or anything in it, but there are at least two other ways in which someone with a Mac OS X 10.4 installation disk can get access to an account's files or folders unless some or all of those files are encrypted.
