Using a CSV file to add markers

I do a lot of sports video editing. A new iphone app just appeared in the app store that allows you to tag events which are in sync with the games you are filming. It outputs as a CSV file. High end sports analysis software allows for CSV files to be imported and connected to a video file, is this possible in Final Cut Express or Pro...?
Ideally, I'd just like the file to show up as markers, or event better clip it into sub clips from the CSV file. Would save a lot of time editing.

Hi - There is a way to get that kind of info into FCP, although I am not sure it would work for markers or subclips - just clips only, I believe. But you could include some metadata. I am not sure it would be worth the effort, but . . .
You would take your CSV file, open it in Excel and reformat the information to conform to the format of FCP's Batch List, then export that from Excel and then import that file as a Batch List in FCP.

I have a .csv file and I need to update some values in a column based on some condition. Basically I want to use the .csv file as a database such that I can perform query on it and update the result set as required.

It's because Class.forName will throw ClassNotFoundException if it cannot locate the class file. You need to set classpath so that org.relique.jdbc.csv.CsvDriver class can be located by ur code.

Importing new users with plain text password using a csv file does not work

I am using csvde -i -f filename to import a number of users and their plain text passwords but it seems
that the "Password" parameter in my csv file is not recognized.
PS D:\csvfiles> csvde -i -f .\testimport.csv

I'm probably doing something wrong but I can not see it. If you know what that is please let me know.

I suggested LDIFDE.exe or you can use the following PowerShell script to import your CSV file, if you have the Active Directory PowerShell Module installed:

Error while refreshing a report using local csv file

Hi,
I'm using BI 4.1 SP02.
While using Rich client, I've created a report with some merged queries, while one of the queries is a local CSV file - saved on AD in some server, and not on the repository inside BO.
While trying to refresh the report with the Rich client, it all went great.
Now, while using BI Launchpad java based app, I can't refresh the report - I get the following error:
"An Internal error occurred while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270) (WIS 30270)"
Should I be able to refresh a report without the Rich if it contains a local file (which is possible to EDIT only with rich) ?
If so, then did someone ran into this error?

Second,
my problem is unlikely have to do something with permissions from one reasons -
when the report is using XLS\XLSX on same folder(with same name prefix) - the report is running without any problem.
Only problem is while refreshing without Rich while the source is network CSV file.
Any suggestions?

A few questions about using an XML file to add text into a TextArea component set as html

I'm using AS2 in Flash CS3.
I have a TextArea component in the stage that's loading its text from an XML and I've been able to use the ul and li tags to create lists. However, when I try to include a nested list it just inserts a line break between the nested list and the main list rather than indent it further. Is there a solution for this issue?
Failing that, how would I be able to add non-breaking spaces into the XML so they will render inside the TextArea component? I've tried and   without success. I scoured the net for some help with this and found some information about modifying the font embedding xml file with a new entry for the non-breaking space and that didn't work either, so that leaves me somewhat stumped.

flash doesn't handle nested lists (as you now know). you can work-around that limitation using css and creating your own indent styles. css have a marginLeft property you can use.

Problem using an msp file to add features

I have an existing Office 2013 ProPlus installation which has been customised using the OCT and deployed using setup.exe with an msp file in the default location.
Now I need to add a feature (specifically, the Lync client which was not deployed in the original rollout).
I created a new standalone msp file by importing the existing one into the OCT, making the changes, and saving - so far so good.
But every time I run this new msp using msiexec /p
\\server\share\mspfilename I get "Error 1304. Error writing to file Policy.14.0.Microsoft.BusinessData.dll Verify you have access to that directory". The process is running as a Domain Admin.
What "directory" does it mean? Where is (or should be) this file? How can I find out more about what's going on here?

I think I messed something up in Firefox.I was in the process of backing up some files like bookmarks.I had done the following-clicked on Firefox,troubleshooting and show folder.I found and back up bookmarks but had trouble when it came to trying to do places etc. and now some of the files are showing Acrobat to open them. What is the default for these files and how do I switch back?

If you want to change the application that opens .pdf files, change that in Options > Applications and look for Portable Document Format.

How to change an existing line item in CCM catalog using CSV file?

We are using SRM5.0 and CCM 2.0
We have uploaded the material and service master to CCM as supplier catalog from R/3.
The initial Upload was doen successfully.
My query is how to reflect the delta changes in CCM happening in R/3?
If I can generate a CSV file with all those items wich has been changed (Changes can be in description, Plant, status etc) and upload the same file in CCM, will it update the existing line in CCM or create a new line item?
How do i update an existing line item in CCM catalog using a CSV file?

I am using CCM 2.0 and SRM 5.0 (EBP5.5).
We are not using XI, so i guess we cant use the program "/ccm/file_upload".
we have migrated the product master data from R/3.
We have developed a report which takes product category as input and gives out flat file in csv format containg all the items in that prod category.
Then we upload the file in CCM by logging thro the brpwser.
Similarly, i can develop another program which will give me a CSV file foll all those items changed in R/3 in a day.
Then we can upload that file in CCM.
But i have doubt if it will update the existing items in catalog.

After the latest upgrade to Mozilla 32 a previously recorded imacros scirpt in which the data was being imported into mozilla from a csv file keeps erroring out. This same problem occurred with the with the upgrade to Mozilla 30 and was fixed when Mozilla was upgraded to 31. Can you please advise on how to correct the problem so that csv files can be used in conjunction with imacros scripts. I would like to point out that imacros still works without the use of csv files, but when you introduce a csv to the script the imacros does not work.

Load IDM users using CSV file

I am trying to load some users into IDM using a CSV file:
command, accountId,waveset.firstname,waveset.lastname,waveset.email
Create,testid,james,smith,[email protected]
Create,testid2,sally,gray,[email protected]
After loading i can see that the account has been created. However, when i open the click on the user account to see the details, other data (e.g. firstname, lastname, email) other than the accoundid are not loaded to the fields on the user form.
A ideas?

We have setup our hybrid with Office 365, how can I use the csv file to migrate and activate the users at the same time ? I can migrate the users but they are not activate otomatically. Actually we plan to ONLY activate exchange not the other products

When you migrate mailboxes to Exchange Online with a staged migration, you can create a CSV file to create a migration batch.
After a migration batch has finished running, you need to convert the on-premises mailboxes in the migration batch to mail-enabled users by downloading related scripts and run it.
I'm afraid there is no way to migrate and activate the users at the same time using a single CSv file.

How to update Records of SAP table from .CSV file

I have written a code which takes a data from (,) delimited CSV file and adds it into the Internal table.
Now I want to update the all fields in SAP table with the Internal table.
I want to use Update statement.
Update <table Name> SET <field needs to update> WHERE connditon.
I don't want to iterate through thousand on record in sap table to check the where condition.
Could you please tell me how to do it.

From performance view, this solution should be much faster than iterating lt_csv directly and updating every single database record

To add multiple users to one group, I wouldn't use a .csv file since the only value you need from a list is the users to be added.
To start create a list of users that should be added to the group, import this list in a variable called $users, the group distinguishedName in a variable called $Group and simply call the ActiveDirectory cmdlet Add-GroupMember.
$Users = Get-Content -Path 'C:\ListOfUsernames.txt'
$Group = 'CN=MyGroup,OU=MyOrg,DC=domain,DC=lcl'
Add-ADGroupMember -Identity $Group -Members $Users
