Using a java project in a web which is part of a ear

hi
i have an ear (jspkeepEAR) that includes a web project (jspkeep). The web project uses a java project (common).
I don't want the EAR to know about the common, so i've added the common as a j2ee module to the web project.
when publishing, i can see under
C:\bea92\user_projects\w4WP_workspaces\Untitled\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources\
.projects\jspkeepEAR\beadep\workshop\jspkeepEAR
the .beabuild.txt file:
C\:/bea92/user_projects/w4WP_workspaces/Untitled/jspkeepEAR/EarContent/APP-INF/classes = APP-INF/classes
C\:/bea92/user_projects/w4WP_workspaces/Untitled/jspkeep/WebContent = jspkeep.war
C\:/bea92/user_projects/w4WP_workspaces/Untitled/jspkeep/build/classes = jspkeep.war/WEB-INF/classes
C\:/bea92/user_projects/w4WP_workspaces/Untitled/jspkeep/build/jws/.src = jspkeep.war/WEB-INF/classes
C\:/bea92/user_projects/w4WP_workspaces/Untitled/common = jspkeep.war/WEB-INF/lib/common.jar
the problem is, when i'm surfing to a servlet in the web, i get NoClassDefFoundError for classes in the common.
I've also noticed that if i publish the web project by itself (and not as part of the ear), it works fine.
any idea?
thanks
yair

Hi Yair
It appears that WLS only supports mapping a directory to a jar in APP-INF/lib/
C\:/runtime-New_configuration/Common/bin = APP-INF/lib/Common.jar
but NOT to a jar in WEB-INF/lib.
Engineering will look into it sometime to fix it.
Workaround Suggested:
As a workaround, you can include the Java/Utility project as part of the EAR and set as dependent J2EE module to the Web project.
Hope this helps.

  • Problems using the Java API inside a Web Service

    Hi,
    after I've built a standalone Java RMI client, using the API, I wanted to use the same code in a Web Service I've built and deployed in tomcat (jwsdp-1.3). But i ran into a few problems..
    - although I have the exact same code in both programs, the one in the web service simply blocks when I initiate the Locator class (see above...);
    - all the .jar's that I use in the client are deployed in the WEB-IF/lib of the web service directory on tomcat;
    - no exceptions are thrown in tomcat, so i don't know what's going on;
    Is there any specific configuration for the API to run on tomcat?
    Could it be that the .jar's needed by the Locator class may have some kind of conflict with the ones in tomcat?
    Thanks...
    Note: The code on the client is totaly stable and fully operational.
    The web service uses java.rmi.Remote (extends Remote).
    Here's part of the code:
    Properties env = new Properties();
    env.setProperty("orabpel.platform", "oc4j_10g");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.factory.initial","com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.provider.url","ormi://dellpc05/orabpel");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.security.principal","admin");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.security.credentials","welcome");
    Locator locator = new Locator("default", "bpel", env);
    IDeliveryService deliveryService = (IDeliveryService)locator.lookupService(IDeliveryService.SERVICE_NAME );
    (...)

    I've put a
    try{Locator...}
    }catch(Throwable t) {
    System.out.println(t.getMessage());
    t.printStackTrace();
    around the Locator..
    I still don't know why it's throwing this...
    Here's what it gets:
    before Locator

  • Java Project as DC

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to create a Java project as a DC that can be imported as a model in Web Dynpro.  When I am experimenting by using local java project, I can import it with no problem into Web Dynpro as a model.  But, when I am creating Java project as DC, I cannot export it to create JAR file and thus cannot be imported as model.  Please help...
    Thanks,
    Johannes

    Hi Johannes,
    You objective is to import the content of the Java project as a "Model" in a WD project. Out of the currently available options in WD, Java Bean is the only suitable one here. Now, to make it available as "Model" in WD, you need to make the "JavaBean model implementation" of the Java DC available to be published through the "Public Part" of your Java DC project. Once you publish the JavaBean Model implementation classes, the content of your DC based Java project become available to be used as Model inside the WD project.
    Now, coming to your question, you are not actually importing the whole source code of your Java DC project. Rather, you are only importing the "JavaBean model implementation" classes. These acts like "proxy" classes and enables your WD project to communicate with the Java project.
    Hope, this clarify your doubts to some extent. Please let me know if not.

    Hi,
    Please ensure that you include the SOAP Header "SOAPAction" in your request. Most importantly, the value for that should be enclosed within double quotes.
    For eg;
    req.setRequestHeader("SOAPAction", '"process"');

  • [Urgent] using javafx object in java project

    Suppose I here created a very simple java project and the main file is like below,
    public class test {
        public static void main(String[] args){
                System.out.println("Hello World!");
    }and in this particular java project, I need to use another javafx object which is defined as (the javafx and java file are in the same package),
    import javafx.stage.Stage;
    import javafx.scene.Scene;
    import javafx.scene.shape.Rectangle;
    import javafx.scene.paint.Color;
    import javafx.scene.shape.Circle;
    var stage: Stage = Stage {
        title: "Declaring Is Easy!"
        scene: Scene {
            width: 300
            height: 250
            content: [
                Circle {
                    centerX: 150  centerY: 120 radius: 80
                    fill: Color.MAROON
                    stroke: Color.INDIANRED
                    strokeWidth: 10.0
                }, //Circle
                Rectangle {
                    x: 25, y: 80 width: 250, height: 80
                    arcWidth: 20 arcHeight: 20
                    fill: Color.web("#6699ff")
                    stroke: Color.web("#003399")
              strokeWidth: 5.0
                } //Rectangle
            ] //Content
        } //Scene
    } //StageSo how could I achieve this?
    Regards.

    Thanks for your reply.
    But would you please elaborate on this sentence: create the fx class using Class.forName("....").newInstance()?
    Indeed I implemented an interface which was extended by the javafx class, and in the main java file I need to write following codes to use this object,
    Context context = FXLocal.getContext();
            FXClassType instance = context.findClass("packageName.JavaFXClass");
            ObjectValue obj = (ObjectValue)instance.newInstance();
            JavaInterface ji = (JavaInterface)obj.asObject();The problem that I encountered right now is, the exception was thrown at context.findClass("javatest.MyChart");, since it's not able for the compiler to find the JavaFXClass.class.
    I checked the folder build\classes\packageName and noticed that both my main JavaClass and JavaInterface have been compiled with .class file, while the JavaFXClass was not, which means the file JavaFXClass.class doesn't exist.
    What's the solution?

  • Integration of a Java Project  with SAP using XI 2.0

    Hi,
    I want to integrate one project written in Java with SAP Using XI 2.0 . The data from Java Project will be given in the XML file and the data needs to be posted in SAP .
    Also PO data from SAp should be given in XML , which Java Software will read filter it and Update its database.
    Can anybody practically guide me as to how should I go about implementing it .
    Thanks in Advance.
    Sanjana

    Suryakant & Sanjana :
    Step 1: Create web service using Java (EJBs) and consume this web service in SAP XI.
    Step 2: PO data from SAP
    Step 2.i:
    In XI 2.0 you cannot expose RFC as a web service
    so what you need to do is create a EJB project to call RFC
    using JCO and then expose this EJB project as web service.
    Step 2.ii:
    Consume the web service created in step 2.i into XI.
    Step 2.iii:
    In XI expose then expose this as web service.
    Step 2.iv:
    consume the web service created in step 2.iv using Java Application.

  • Creating a Web Service From an existing Java Project

    Hi folks,
    I'm new to web services and SAP Netweaver so I need to know if I can use my exisiting Java codes (not EJB's though) for creating web services and the WSDL. I've already gotten the codes working and all and just need to make them into web services and deploy them (plus give my WSDL).
    I've noticed in some samples that they used EJB's for creating new web services and I've been trying to find samples/steps on just creating webservices from exisitng java codes. I've been using AXIS but I've been told that creating web services using the Netweaver Developer Studio is rather easy.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Amol!
    Thanks for the link
    I was trying it out, but could you see if this was correct:
    I just made one simple java project (with one class file) and using the link you sent me and did just the step for using the web service Creation Wizard. I made it say Test service and got into the Web Services Explorer but it says it couldn't open my wsdl:
    IWAB0379E Unable to open http://localhost:50000/HelloBeanService/HelloBean?wsdl.
    IWAB0135E An unexpected error has occurred.
    WSDLException

    Did I miss a step?
    Thanks again!

  • Using External java within web dynpro DC

    Hi
    I'm new in web dynpro and I'm facing a problem.
    I'm doing a web dynpro DC application and I want to use some external java classes I have created into my DC. But I don't really know how to do it, I tried EJB but I don't exactly how it works.
    by the way, I was using a stand along web dynpro before and this worked fine, I just needed to create a package within my web dynpro project with all my class architecture to have them directly. but now with the DC stuff, it's not the same at all. so please help
    thanks

    Hi
    Better you create a Java Development component and add all your java classes to that DC and build it.
    Create a webdynpro DC to develop front end and add the java DC in used DC's of your Webdynpro DC.
    This is the way you can use the java classes effectively with out redundancy.
    If you create a package inside a normal webdynpro project, then you can not reuse them later in other webdynpro proj
    Go with SAP component model by creating 2 development components one for java and other for webdynpro and define the reusability (Used DC's) in DC Metadata.
