Using a multiline feld (trextedit) in VC table?

Hi,
I'd like to display a table with some long texts which I retrieve from an rfc. Using a normal input field in my table means that I have either to set the column width to a very high value or the user has to scroll in the input field to see the whole text. Both ways are not too comfortable. So I wonder if it is somehow possible to use a textedit or in general a multiline field within a table in VC.
Any hints are welcome.
thanks,
Heiko

Hi Heiko,
I have the same requirement. Please let me know if you've solved it. Flex can handle this do problem - the standard restaurant application does this well. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/restaurant_app.html
Let me know how you get on.
Regards,
Mike

• Dynamic parallel processing using a multiline container element

Hi All ,
I just wanted to how things work when we use "Dynamic parallel processing" for a decision step . I came across a situation wherein a Rule gets the approving user(s) and the work item should be sent to all those users . After getting an approval from all the users , the workflow should proceed or else it should terminate .
I was just wondering whether "Dynamic parallel processing" will do this job or not . I had also thought of using forks but as the number of approvers are decided at runtime , i dont think it is possible .
Any inputs ?
Edit : We are working on CRM 5.0
Thanks ,

Hi Shounak,
Just do as Mike says:
use the multiline element for a subflow.
The subflow consists of your user decision, if someone rejects it, remember it (could be done by updating a small table using a method, or use an event, or what mike suggested, updating appending a table )
In the top flow, after the multiline element step determine if someone rejected it (wait for event, or reading the table).
Kind regards, Rob Dielemans

• How to use column with linkToItem in the Basic Table view style mode

Hi
I have already changed a normal column that I made to a column with linkToItem as follows.
<viewfields>
<FieldRef Name="MyColumn" linkToItem="TRUE">
and it worked.
But this column works only at the default view style mode in my case.
Does anyone know how to use linkedToItem column in the Basic Table mode?
hope someone help me.
thanks

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use linkToItem in the Basic Table view style.
Per my test, in the Default style view, we need to use linkToItem=”TRUE”. However, in Basic Table style view, we need to use LinkToItem=”TRUE” instead.
Best regards.
Thanks

• Why Isn't xmlindex being used in slow query on binary xml table eval?

I am running a slow simple query on Oracle database server 11.2.0.1 that is not using an xmlindex. Instead, a full table scan against the eval binary xml table occurs. Here is the query:
select -- /*+ NO_XMLINDEX_REWRITE no_parallel(eval)*/
defid from eval,
XMLTable(XMLNAMESPACES(DEFAULT 'http://www.cigna.com/acme/domains/eval/2010/03',
'http://www.cigna.com/acme/domains/derived/fact/2010/03' AS "ns7"),
'$doc/eval/derivedFacts/ns7:derivedFact' passing eval.object_value as "doc" columns defid varchar2(100) path 'ns7:defId'
) eval_xml
where eval_xml.defid in ('59543','55208'); The predicate is not selective at all - the returned row count is the same as the table row count (325,550 xml documents in the eval table). When different values are used bringing the row count down to ~ 33%, the xmlindex still isn't used - as would be expected in a purely relational nonXML environment.
My question is why would'nt the xmlindex be used in a fast full scan manner versus a full table scan traversing the xml in each eval table document record?
Would a FFS hint be applicable to an xmlindex domain-type index?
Here is the xmlindex definition:
CREATE INDEX "EVAL_XMLINDEX_IX" ON "EVAL" (OBJECT_VALUE)
INDEXTYPE IS "XDB"."XMLINDEX" PARAMETERS

1. In the developemnt environment, no xml source records for defid '52657' or '52599' are being displayed - just an empty output set occurs; in spite of these values being present and stored in the source xml.
This really has me stumped, as can query the eval table to see the actual xml defid vaues '52657' and '52599' exist. Something appears off with the query - which didn't return records even before the corrresponding xml index was created.
2. The query still performs slowly, in spite of using the xmlindex. The execution plan shows a full table scan of eval occurring whether or not a HASH JOIN or MERGE JOIN (gets used in place of the HASH JOIN when the NO_USE_HASH(eval) int is used.
3. Single column 2ndary indexes created respectively for eval_catt and defid are not used in the execution plan - which may be expected upon further consideration.
In the process of running stats at this moment, to see if performance improves....
At this point, really after why item '1.' is occurring?

• Use of Logical Partition in a Oracle Table...

What is the use of Logical Partition in a Oracle Table as Target. Techincal Manual does not say any significance.
My question is:
If the Table has no partitions and if we add Logical Partitions using Data Service, what purpose will it serve?
We are planning to load 30 Million records a day into a Oracle Table. As of now the Target table has no partition and we are planning to have that soon. Is there a better way to load the data into Target Table, using Partition, Bulk Loading(API), Degree of Parallelism, etc., We have not dealt data of that volume, inputs are highly appreciated.
Regards.
Santosh.

Initial Value:
Indicator that NOT NULL is forced for this field
Use
Select this flag if a field to be inserted in the database is to be filled with initial values. The initial value used depends on the data type of the field.
Please note that fields in the database for which the this flag is not set can also be filled with initial values.
When you create a table, all fields of the table can be defined as NOT NULL and filled with an initial value. The same applies when converting the table. Only when new fields are added or inserted, are these filled with initial values. An exception is key fields. These are always filled automatically with initial values.
Restrictions and notes:
The initial value cannot be set for fields of data types LCHR, LRAW, and RAW. If the field length is greater than 32, the initial flag cannot be set for fields of data type NUMC.
If a new field is inserted in the table and the initial flag is set, the complete table is scanned on activation and an UPDATE is made to the new field. This can be very time-consuming.
If the initial flag is set for an included structure, this means that the attributes from the structure are transferred. That is, exactly those fields which are marked as initial in the definition have this attribute in the table as well.
hope it helps,
Saipriya

• Use of Cell Variant for a normal table

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement in a normal table where a row is first in read-only mode, then on click of edit button (given on that row),
the row should become editable and also edit button should become invisible and two more buttons update/cancel have to be visible. How to achieve this using a cell variant for this normal table.
A detailed reply would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Mirza Hyder.

Hi Mirza,
Cell variant property is used to chenge the cell property not for other. That means in one cell you want checkbox and in other cell you want textview like this you can change the property of cell as you want.
Test this standard program WDR_TEST_TABLE in that test view cell varint for your understanding.
Coming to your requirement. You can do in this way.
Check in the below thread in that i gave code to make the entire row is editable when you click on the lead selection of row.I gave code for ALV.I hope that code is use ful for you.
How to make all columns of alv editable
To make tool bar buttons disable and enable:Write your logic in method handler of lead selection event like change the visible property of button to none.
Note: In the event handler method you dont get reference of view. You only get reference of view in WDDOMODIFYVIEW only so take a global variable of type ref to if_wd_view and populate that global variable in method WDODIFYVIEW.So that you can access any view element in any method.
For cell variant in ALV check this Article written by me.

You can use the BAPIs,
BAPI_ACC_INVOICE_RECEIPT_CHECK Accounting: Check Invoice Receipt (OAG: LOAD PAYABLE)
BAPI_ACC_INVOICE_RECEIPT_POST Accounting: Post Invoice Receipt (OAG: LOAD PAYABLE)

• Cannot use &SAP_EDIT command on SE16N on some tables

Hi,
this is probably something easy to explain for all the experts out there:
I was asked by one of our developers the reason why he couldn't use the &SAP_EDIT command on some Z* tables.
When I tried it for myself, I could see that in fact the command couldn't be used with the table he asked me about but I could use it with some other Z* tables. He then told me he could do it until last monday but not now...
When comparing one table where I could use the &SAP_EDIT command with another where it wasn't possible, I couldn't find any differences on the table configurations.
Now, I have a couple of questions about this:
1. Where is this configured? What property should be changed so I can use the &SAP_EDIT command?
2. Is there a way to find out who (or what) changed the system's behavior when using the &SAP_EDIT command on this table?
Thanks,
Antonio

Hi Raymond,
The note 1446530 in its version 5 doesn't solve the problem. There is an error in include LSE16NF10, form routine FILL_SAP_EDIT-
*..this function is only allowed for special purposes
if ld_on <> true.
exit.
endif.
The data declaration of the variable ld_on is-
data: ld_on(1) value ' '.
And definition of true is-
constants: true(1) value 'X'.
It's obvious that such if check would always be true and hence, the subsequent code won't be executed. Effectively, the note does nothing.
Instead, use t-code UASE16N and type in &SAP_EDIT, if data editing is needed. It works without the note.
Nevertheless, it is enjoyable to read the language of note 1420281.

• Getting Compilation error when used SET or MULTISET operator on nested tabl

Dear All,
I am getting Compilation error when used SET or MULTISET operator on nested tables inside a procedure.
This is working fine in other DB installations of 10g but does not work in another 10g DB.
it says "wrong number of parameter or datatype used in SET"
Can any one suggest what went wrong here?
Thanks in advance.

Can any one suggest what went wrong here?Only if you would post the query and Oracle versions on both databases.
Besides, this forum deals with issues in Oracle product installation. So post this query in SQL PL/SQL forum for better response.

Hi,
Thanks for ur reply...
Since MULTISET and SET operators are the new additions in base 10g release for manipulation of nested tables data, I am surprised that same is working in similar 5 DBs installations with 10.2.0.1.0 version, but does not work in the sixth.
SET and MULTISET operators are used inside the PL/SQL procedure which is getting compiled in the above mentioned 5 DBs but not in sixth DB.
it gives
On line: 3112
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SET'
Hope this clarifies the issue...
