Using a Temporary Variable in PCR

Hi All
Please suggest for the following.
How can I use a temporary variable in a PCR.
Say if I need to transfer the AMT of WT 4100 to a variable like 'XYZ=4100' in PCR.....What variable I can use and what is the correct syntex for this. And how can I use the same variable for further calculations.
Please suggest.

Hi Friends
Thanks for your precious suggestions.
I understood your point but if I need to transfer the value of a wage type in a variable as mentioned below then how can I do that....
4000
OUTWPPERSB
Z1
XYZ=/102 (Value of /102 should be transfered to XYZ so that can be used for further processing. Or If there is other way to solve this then please suggest.)
Here this PCR should work only if there is a Wage Type 4000. And when it finds 4000 in Payroll and enter into this PCR then wage type /102 should be multiplied with a constant stored in T511K & the result of that should be stored in 5000. '/102' should not change.
Please suggest

  • Doubt in Decode and Using Temporary variable

    I was facing the following issue,
    For example,
    The column_name if A should be stored with the value B or, with itself for which I included a statement as following,
    Case [1]
    SELECT ....DECODE(column_name,'A','B',column_name) alias_name
         FROM table_name
              WHERE condition;
    But,
    when i used a temporary variable as following i could not get the expected change,
    Case [2]
    SELECT ...column_name
         FROM table_name
              WHERE condition;
    temp VARCHAR(10);
    BEGIN
    IF column_name='A' THEN
         temp:='B';
    ELSE
         temp:=column_name;
    END IF;
    END;
    I was able to get the right output in Case[1],but failed to get in [2]. Please help and Thanks in advance.

    Without seeing your code, whatever I can say might be just an assumption. I can give an example to show that it will work.
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON
    DECLARE
      var      VARCHAR2(10);
      col_name VARCHAR2(30);
      TEMP     VARCHAR2(20);
    BEGIN
      SELECT column_name
      INTO col_name
      FROM user_tab_columns
      WHERE table_name = 'EMP'
      AND rownum       =1;
      IF (col_name     ='EMPNO') THEN
        temp          := 'X';
      ELSE
        temp := col_name;
      END IF;
      var := 'abc '||temp;
      dbms_output.put_line(var);
    END;
    OUTPUT :

  • Use of Shared Variables for data transfer from a RT traget to a desktop application

    Hi,
    I want to adopt the shared variables to share data in an existing distributed application comparable with the T3 Benchmark configuration in this document:
    [1] http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/5B4C3CC1B2AD10BA862570F2007569EF
    The current implementation uses a well tuned solution with RT FIFOs and TCP/IP communication with a desktop-PC which monitors and stores the data.
    The desktop application runs with a much slower execution rate than the TCL. So the TCP/IP packets are used to buffer the data with a package size dependent on the data send rate.
    To use the shared variables instead of this RT FIFO + TCP/IP implementation I need to read the shared vairable buffer at once each time the desktop application reads the shared variable.
    But according to this quotation from [1]:
    "With buffering, you can account for temporary fluctuations between read/write rates of a variable. Readers that occasionally read a variable slower than the writer can miss some updates."
    this seems to be impossible. Am I right?
    Are there any suggestions to circumvent this problem? Or are shared variables not made to share data between unsynchronized processes without data loss?
    Regards Till

    You can use the error-cluster to detect the end of your queue. The erroroutput of the shared variable will return a -2220 Warning, if it reads a value it has read already before. I attached a modified example and saved it for 8.2 I hope you can open it.

  • Unable to Declare a Temporary Variable in Calc Script

    We are using Hyperion System 9 BI+ Analytic Administration Services. 9.2.03.0.44
    I am trying to declare a temporary variable in a calculation script.
    We have found several guides and examples in the support documentation that give us a step by step instruction on how to 1.) declare the variable, then 2.) Assign a value.
    Example:
    /* Declare the variable */
    VAR TotalAllocDept;
    /* Baseline Fix */
    FIX ("FY10","Jan","BU Version_1", "Actual", "NoProd", "NoCust")
    /* Assign a value to the variable */
    TotalAllocDept = ("Alloc_HR"+"Alloc_IT"+"Alloc_FIN");
    ENDFIX
    /* Allocate overhead based on Total Alloc Dept Variable */
    FIX ("FY10","Jan","BU Version_1", "Actual", "NoProd", "NoCust")
    "Alloc_5xSS" = @ALLOCATE("Alloc_Overhead","Account", TotalAllocDept,, share);
    ENDFIX
    However, when we try to check the syntax, we are given various error messages such as:
    Error parsing FIX STATEMENT "invalid object type" and
    "Invalid member name" and
    Invalid Calc Script syntax.
    Can anyone suggest some techniques that we can try or alternative ways of entering the text to make it possible for us to use temporary variables?

    A variable must be declared within a calc member block and can only exist for the scope of that block.
    This would work (not that you would necessarily want it)"
    /* Allocate overhead based on Total Alloc Dept Variable */
    FIX ("FY10","Jan","BU Version_1", "Actual", "NoProd", "NoCust")
    "Alloc_5xSS"
    TotalAllocDept = ("Alloc_HR""Alloc_IT""Alloc_FIN");
    "Alloc_5xSS" = @ALLOCATE("Alloc_Overhead","Account", TotalAllocDept,, share);
    ENDFIX

  • Creating a Temporary Variable

    How can I create a Temporary Variable to be used in the WHERE Clause of a Select statement. Can you please post an example of this. Thanks!

    In what context?
    It looks like what you have here is SQL. The SQL language doesn't have variables as such.
    If you put this into PL/SQL, which would involve selecting the data into some local variables or putting the select in a cursor, then you could certainly use a local PL/SQL variable in the WHERE clause, as I demonstrated above.
    If you want to put this into a script that would be called from SQL*Plus, you could use the substitution variable example above.
    If you are trying to put this somewhere else, you're going to have to be a bit more specific...

  • Saving values as temporary variable as in C, but with no UI controls

    Hello Labview world, I am a placement student been thrown into the deep end to design a program that auto calibrates a ADC using labview. Given the option to do this in C and i would not have a problem but labview is different. I have the folloing problem. The ADC has to register to fine tune its output. FCR (gain) and OCR(offset). The adjust the data in the DOR (data output register) of the ADC. I want to set a known voltage on the input of the ADC (say 500mA) and then i will read the output code of the ADC and convert into a voltage in the range of 0 - 5V. I have all the controls for the ADC already programmed. My problem comes when the output code is not equal to the voltage i sent in. for example my first try i got a output code equivalent to 1.13V for a 0.5V input. To adjust the output code i need to read the FCR and OCR registers and then save these to a variable in memory but i do not wish to display them on the front panel as there is no need. i work out the difference between the output and input and divide this by two. I now need to start adjust my first register (FCR default value of 800000 Hex) until i reach the midpoint between the current OP voltage and known IP voltage. I will increment by 100000HEX first (FCR now equal to 900000H) and then read back the new OP voltage. If it has now over shot my midpoint voltage i need to reduce the incremental value and then add this to my first FCR value which i hoped to have saved earlier so that the new value would be 810000H. Then read back the voltage and adjust registers so on so forth until i home in on the midpoint value. once there i will adjust the OCR register in the same way to reach myactual IP voltage. I know this method is crude but it does work and I'm just stuck on how to save temporary variables in labview that i can keep going back to just like having the following in C that i can set when i like : int previousFCR = 0x800000;
    int NewFCR;
    int IncrementVal;
    Sorry about the description being so long but any help u clever people could give me would be a great help!!!
    Ta
    Howard

    Hello.
    To be quite honest, I did not read your problem description in very much detail, because judging from the title of your question, your main interest is not displaying intermediate results while you are calculating something in a loop. If this is the case, I hope this answer helps:
    Roughly speaking, a wire is the closest thing there is in LabVIEW to what we call a variable in a text-based language. If you do not connect the wire to any front panel object, then its value is never displayed.
    If your program is already working, and the only thing that bothers you is displaying intermediate results, perhaps the simplest thing to do is to make the indicator invisible while you are looping, and make it visible again when you get the final result. You d
    o this by right-clicking on the indicator, and selecting Create > Property Node, and writing to the "visible" property (you have to right-click on the property node and select "change to write" and then connect the appropriate boolean value).
    If you are still developing the program, and I am right in assumming that you have some kind of loop which stops when the correct value is reached, use shift registers to "pass" the value of a wire (variable) to the next iteration of the loop. Do not connect any indicator to the wire inside the loop, because the indicator will be updated with each iteration of the loop. Instead, place the indicator outside the loop and connect it to the right hand side of the shift register. That way, the indicator takes the value of the wire in the last iteration.
    Hope this helps.

  • Issue with use of shared variables in Crystal Reports 2008 Offline Viewer

    Hi,
    I have a report that contains a number of sub-reports which include drill-down functionality. The report returns data relating to an individual team with the user being able to view top level summary information in each area from the parent report and then drill into the sub-reports to view see more detail. The data returned by the sub-reports is filtered, using sub-report links, based on the team code parameter value given by the user. This parameter field resides in the main report.
    One of the values returned by the main report is the team name. This is passed to each sub-report using a shared variable and each sub-report displays this team name as part of a heading.
    This all works fine in Crystal Reports 2008, but when a report, containing data, is opened using Crystal 2008 Offline Viewer there is a problem with the shared variable. The value is displayed correctly when the user initially drills into the sub-report. However, when the user begins to drill into grouped data within the sub-report the value passed to the sub-report using the shared variable disappears.
    How can I ensure that, when a report is viewed using Crystal Offline Viewer 2008, the value within the shared variable is not lost when users drill into grouped data within sub-reports
    Thanks
    Stuart

  • Use of global variables like g_cnt_transactions_transferred in the LSMW

    Hi SapAll.
    when i had a look at the some of the LSMW's whic use IDOC as the object of uploading data into SAP from external Files i have found in the coding under the step "Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules" that they use some of the global variables like below
    .if p_trfcpt = yes or sy-saprl >= '46A'.
      EDI_DC40-DOCNUM = g_cnt_transactions_transferred + 1.
    endif.
    .EDI_DC40-CIMTYP = g_cimtyp.
    .EDI_DC40-MESTYP = g_mestyp.
    .EDI_DC40-MESCOD = g_mescod.
    .if p_filept = yes.
      EDI_DC40-SNDPOR = g_fileport.
    elseif p_trfcpt = yes.
      EDI_DC40-SNDPOR = g_trfcport.
    endif.
    my doubt is where i can find these variables 'g_cnt_transactions_transferred ','g_cimtyp','g_mescod','g_fileport','g_trfcport' in the LSMW and what is the use of the variable  'g_cnt_transactions_transferred ' in the LSMW.
    I have treid to find out the above listed variables looking in step 'Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules' under global variabels list and the other lists also but i couldnt found.
    can any one help me in this ?
    regards.
    Seetha.

    Hi Seetha,
               In the LSMW Workbench go to the option user menu.  And check the option display conversion program.
    Now when you execute with the radio button on dislplay conversion program, you ll see the code that got generated in the background while you built your LSMW.
    The global variables that you have mentioned are bound to be there in this program generated in the background..
    You can put a break point here and see for yourself what the value of these global variables are at runtime.
    File port, TRFC port , no. of transactions executed by one run of the LMSW Idoc program , message type are some of the fields that you have asked for .

  • How do I use an array variable in the assignment target?

    Hi,
    I am creating a BPEL process in which I have to use an array variable. The array variable needs to be initialized based on some condition.
    The issue is I cannot find a way to set the value of the array variable. There are ways to GET the value of an array variable indexing into it.
    But how do I set the value by using the Array variable in the <to> tag?
    Any help is appreciated. I am using BPEL 10.1.2.0.2.
    Thanks.

    You can declare a variable of type integer which will server as your index. Figure out based on some condition in your process which index of array to update. Assign to your integer variable you created.
    And have Assign copy operation like this -
    <copy>
    <from variable="Var_Output_FetchDueDate"
    part="OutputParameters"
    query="/ns18:OutputParameters/ns18:DUEDATE"/>
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/client:GetCustomerAccountInformationProcessResponse/client:customer/client:accounts/client:account[$Var_Counter]/client:dueDate"/>
    </copy>
    I have been using this in my processes.

  • Use of OLAP variable 0FYTCFP in extracting GL transaction figures

    Hi
    We load data to cube 0FIGL_C01.
    We use the OLAP variable to ensure that we are extracting for the current fiscal year to date, as a full load, with a deletion of overlapping requests in the process chain.
    Our fiscal year ends 30 June. My question is around  special periods and opening of the new fiscal year while posting is still allowed into the old year e.g. on 15 July both the old year and the new year are open as the year end processing is still underway, and special periods 13-16 might also be in use.
    Do I have to wait until the user close the year (a manual step) to then do a "final" run for the year, with the periods specified manually, or is there a way to automate this?
    thanks and regards, Lara

    Hi Sander
    Thanks for the response.
    That;s what I have been doing (run manually after the period is closed). It is not ideal, in my mind, because it (1) relies on someone remembering to do it and (2) has to be done repetitively i.e.at least daily until the "old" period is closed, otherwise reports based on the provider will not be accurate. Again, not hard to do, just a pain when everything else is automated.
    This particular DataSource is not delta enabled, otherwise I would have used the delta loads.

  • How can I use Server level variables in a business model based report

    hi gems..
    I have declared one server level variable in the BI Analytics repository.
    Now I have made one business model based report.
    In one column I want to use that server level varible.
    I go to the formula tab of that column and then clicked on variable--> session --> put the name of the variable and click ok.
    But when i viewed the report, it is not showing the dates, rather it is showing the date format I chosed i.e DD-MMM-YYYY.
    please help..

    actually the previous problem got resolved...
    Now when I am trying to apply a filter on a particular column using that server variable, then it is showing that the varible has no value definition.
    I have clicked on the filter tab of that column-->add-->variables-->session variables-->then I put the name of the variable-->click OK.
    the following error is comming-
    Error Codes: YQCO4T56:OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P

    I have made that server variable from manage-->variables-->(right click) create new initialisation block-->gave the name and wrote the query and aslo gave the connection pool name and test that and it worked fine..

  • To use two presentation variables based on the period selection in OBIEE

    Dear All,
    I have period prompt in my report, based on the period prompt selection in my report I need to get the start and end dates of the period and apply in the report filter.
    For e.g. Period Name selected in the prompt is "2010 - Q1" (For this Period, Period Start Date = 01/01/2010 and Period End Date is 30/03/2010, which is not going to be displayed in the prompts).
    How can I get the start and end dates of the period into my report filter. I tried using the presentation variable for the period name, but unable to resolve the requirement.
    Your help is highly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
    Create a report A which will give you the period start date and end date and filter it using the period prompt.
    Then filter the main report using the report A start date and end date, using Filter -> Advanced ->Filter based on results of another request .
    Add the report A in separate section on the dashboard along with main report and hide report A section.
    Thanks,

    If you're a member of ODTUG (or even if not, you can sign up for an associate membership for free) you can download Glenn's presentation from 2009 Kaliedoscope "Little Used Features of Essbase (Like Data Mining and Triggers)" -- there is a section in that presentation on substitution variables -- he does a really good job in showing how this works.
    Go to: www.odtug.com, then Tech Resources, then Essbase/Hyperion, and search for Schwartzberg. Currently it's the ninth presentation on the list -- I think this changes based on popularity of downloads.
