Using a Tree to display images

Ok, so I'm pretty new to Flex, here's my problem
I have a tree whose branches and leaves are defined in
actionscript like this

I have an HDividedBox with 2 panes, one containing the tree
and the other containing an image. I want the image to be relevant
to the selected leave, so selecting character1 in the tree will
display a picture of character 1, etc.
Can someone help? I will post my entire code if someone
thinks that will help.

Regarding your issue, set a handler function on the Tree's
change event. In that handler, access the item value that you need
to identify the image, and then call the function that sets the
image source, passing in the image identifier.
Are you doing something along these lines? What is not
working?

I am trying to test the Image URL feature in a Web Intelligence report.
I have a few images loaded in the images folder on the installation server.
I made the text of a cell: boimage://auditingBOBJLogo.png
No images are showing up. When I am in view mode a box with an x shows.
I am using the Web Client to edit the report and view it in InfoView.
Any tips or best practices for getting this to work would be appreciated.

Hi,
Make sure that you have placed the image files in correct folder.
And the cell formula is boimg://auditingBOBJLogo.png and not boimage://auditingBOBJLogo.png.
Remember to set the display property of the cell to Image URL.

1. Create an attribute 'BinImg' of type 'binary' in context. Save binary stream returned from BAPI in this attribute.
2. Create another attribute 'MyImage' of type String.
3. Go to view layout. Create an UI element image. Map its source property to MyImage attribute.
4. Once you have saved binary stream from BAPI, use following code to display image:

How to display image efficiently in JPanel.............

i have following piece of code used to load and display image on jpanel when application starts.
the problem is that
image is not loaded efficiently,
also it covers other panels added in frame.
and scrollbar of panel does not work to show parts of image.
i want to efficiently load the image and to fit in in my panel and also to scroll bar to work proper with image.

You have overided the paint method on JFrame then you are drowing on entire Frame.
Instead you have to override the paintComponent method of a JPanel class or use a JLabel with the image

Does anyone know how to display (in LabVIEW) the memory use during execution of an image and data acquisition VI to predict when it is time to cease the acquisition to prevent the program crashing?
I am acquiring images and data to a buffer on the edge of the while loop, and am finding that the crashing of the program is unpredictable, but almost always due to a memory saturation when the buffers gets too big.
I have attached the VI.

Using flash to display images from sql server or file system

hello,
what methods and parameters of the urlloader class we have to use to display images in a flash player if possible..
also movie should update everytime a new image is added to a database or file
the images can either be in a file system or in a sql database (if possible)
does flash comes with an object of this type or we have to create it.

I have got the same behaviour after the last Safari Update to 5.1.3. It seems that Safari now handles some scripts in a new way. If you debug the Google Website, you will see, that there is some Javascript Error, that seems to prevent to write into local cache. After some searching I wasn't able to finde a solution for this problem, other then disabling Javascript while private browsing to prevent the script loading. You then are able to use Google with the old layout. The option to disable JavaScript can be found in the Menu "Developer", wich has to be enabled in Safari in the options first.
In my opinion this is a bug that is now occuring, because Apple changed something in private browsing and that has to be fixed by Google now, to run again. Or we will have to wait for 5.1.4, as you can read online Apple will change and bugfix the javascript engine in that version, perhaps this fixes the problem as well. I hope so!
If anyone is in the developer program perhaps you could test this with the beta of 5.1.4 and tell us if it works.

How to achieve this tree table ?
My client wants that they should also be able to manage budge at Location or region level not only at the leaf(Dept) level.
I did a lot of research and finally found out that the details can only printed at the leaf(Dept) level.......
We can not hard code Region, locations and departments in table rows. When table tree is displayed we will only show all the regions... (US, UK, SA, IND, AUS, CAN,RUS, JPN.... etc..)
For Example:
Locations for US (NY, CA, OKH, WC...... etc.)
Locaitons for UK (SC, ENG, WL..... etc) and so on......
Departments for CA (HR, IT, ADMIN, FIN, TRVL, OPRN........ etc. ..)

Just to upload and display an image, import image in MIME repository. Not only still images but also flash files can also be uploaded in the MIME repository. Once you import the image in it, use normal html code for image call;

Besides it, if your requirement is to store the image in the database and fetch it based on specified field-name, then you have to go for BLOBs i.e Binary Large Object, using this you can also store images, videos, pdfs, applications in the database.
MBLOB - Medium BLOBs store videos and pdfs,
LBLOB - Large BLOBs store movie files and applications.
You have got 2 ways to use it; some databases store BLOB objects into themselves and some store the path of the BLOB object maintained on the FTP server.
You can also implement it in ABAP;

And looking at your question, in order to upload an image, you can make use of FILEUPLOAD tag provided by HTMLB.
Step 1: FILEUPLOAD provides a browse button to choose desired image file.
Step 2: Store that image in database using BLOBs.
Step 3: Retrieve the image using normal select query and display it on the screen.

JDeveloper 11g Using jsp to display images

I am converting a 10.1.3.3 application to 11.1.1.3
It has 2 web modules. One is an ADF administrator module and the other is a public web that displays information including images stored as blobs.
This public module has a simple technology scope, only html, java, jsp and servlets. It is a hand me down from a few technologies ago and ran well on 10.1.3.3
To display images it uses a jsp acting as a servlet which is referenced inside other jsps. Since moving to 11g the images no longer display. If I use a java class servlet it works
however I have to use the full url, e.g. http://mydomain:myport/web/Sevlet?.... which means I have to update the details for each deployment.
I can use <h:graphicImage but this means I have to include JSF and use expression language to fill in the servlet parameters.
I don't know what has changed to cause it to fail. Weblogic?

Why am i not able to see images on some web sites, using safari 5.1.7. I have enabled the tab to display images.

I'm curious why you'd like to use BitBlt. What functionality does it offer that you've not seen in the CVI canvas control?
It's hard to say without knowing what transitions you're looking for, but the canvas is very capable of animating/transitioning. The place it can fall a little short is if you require access to the alpha channel for transparency.
I put together a short demo for you - maybe it will address some of what you're looking for. The important functions are CanvasStartBatchDraw, CanvasEndBatchDraw, and CanvasDrawBitmap. The animation/transition is driven by a simple UI timer.

In your data you have this:

In your Repeater you have this Image tag:

which is fine, except for the toolTip. The toolTip uses a
string, not an image. If you want to show an image in the toolTip,
you'll need to write your own toolTip class.
Now the source property of the image will be given the URL to
the image which will then be requested from the server and
downloaded at runtime - it is not embedded.
If you need to embed the images, then your dataProvider
should have the variable name associated with the embedded
image.

so much wrong with this post...
a) use the code tags to format the code. Now it is an unreadable mess
b) scriptlets in your JSP. I don't even want to look at that mess. Learn how to combine servlets and JSPs to create clean, readable and maintainable code in which view logic and business logic are separated. The rule: no java code in your JSP, only tags and EL expressions (learn about JSTL).
So you get a blank screen. When you do "view source" in your browser, do you see anything there? If nothing, check if you are behind a proxy server. The solution to a post of not too long ago was that the blank screen was being caused by faulty proxy server settings (the user figured it out himself, I don't know what was done to solve it).
If all this fails you will have to do some debugging magic using your favorite IDE. It will probably be something stupid you are overlooking in the code. It is annoying, but debugging code that does not work is a big part of your job. Better get good at it.
