Using a view as left link

Hi All
I want to develop a left link which will appear in every view of the application and will have the links by clicking which right view can be changed like our e-mail sites where we click on folder name and right part gets changed.
For this functionality I have created a view for left link and added it to a view set so that i don't need to add all those links to each and every view again and again but i have a problem like when i click on the link how to change the lift link from one view to another.
e.g.
i have links called inbox and spam in left link and currently showing inbox in right view now when i click on spam automatically right view should be get changed to spam folder.
how can i achieve this functionality. Is it possible through view set or if any other way to implement this?

Hi Prasanna,
Create a Viewset having two regions left and right.
In left view have all the link and attach some actions to them.
Like
navigateToInbox()
navigateToSpan()
In the actions simply fire an outbound plug to corresponding view that is embeded in right side of viewset.
On firing of view corresponding view will be displayed in the right region.

This started happening right around the time I updated to Firefox 4, but may have been a little before that too. For some things, like news and web comics it's just a little annoying. For important things like looking for new journal articles for my job, it literally makes my job more difficult. So fixing this would make my day.

I seem to have solved my own problem. When I disabled the add-on "Tab Renamizer" everything started working fine.

ADF: use of view link Accessor in Entity Object = always null?

JClient 9.0.5.2, adf model.
I would like to use the view link accessor method in the master EO to retrieve detail EO values and the view link accessor method in the detail EO to retrieve master EO values.
Detail Rule:
In the detail EO an attribute is derived from an attribute of the master EO: detail attribute = master attribute.
Master Rule:
In the master EO an attribute is derived from the detail EO: master atribute set to 0 if detail EO exist else set to 0.
Tables:
Table Master => MasterEO => MasterVO
- masterPK (not updateable)
- masterField (not updateable)
- hasDetailsFlag
Table Detail => DetailEO => DetailVO
- detailPK (not updateable)
- masterPK => foreign key (not updateable)
- masterField (query only)
MasterDetailLink based on foreign key.
In link wizard I asked for the generation of following accessors in the source & destination Entity Objects:
In DetailEO accessor name: RetrieveFromMaster
In MasterEO accessor name: RetrieveFromDetail
In the DetailEO, I asked for the generation of the DetailEOImpl file, accessors and create method.
As wriiten in the file, before the create method:

I know how to implement those rules in the database with triggers.
I think that the data I need for implementing those rules exist somewhere at the ADF level so retrieving the data from the db is not necessary?
Could somebody give some clues?
I didn't find a similar example in the Business Rules in BC4J document.

In DetailEOImpl:

How to extend VO which is use in VIEW LINK and VL is created dynamically.

I wants to extend VO.
This VO is used in VIEW LINK.
This VL name set dynamically, conditionally in one of the controller of page.
i.e if some condition satisfied than xyz VL will use otherwise abc VL will use.
Now,
I have extend VO as well as VL and substitute both, but I am getting null value for some of the field and also I am not able to insert/update new value.
So,
I have created VORowImpl class file which extend VOROWImpl of seeded file and chage the row class of VO.xml file to new class. i.e. modified seeded .xml code and achieve what I want.
But Is this correct way ?
Is there any other way ?

intially i've done that also. i.e. extend only VO and substitute it but i'm getting null values in some field as well as nt able to insert/update new value.

Error when using Smart View install link in Workspace

Hi All,
We recently decidely to use Smart View 11.1.2.5, instead of 11.1.2.1.
In order to role out the file to our users we need to update the link in Workspace. I did so, copying the new .exe and version.xml file to our server that houses workspace, in file path Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/common/epmstatic/wspace/SmartView. I then removed the old files. Now when I login to HFM and go to the link, after a period of a few minutes I get the error "unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application."
I tried restarting all services, a dead end.
Does anyone know what needs to be done to fix this error?

Yes, this is frustrating. You need .NET Framework 4.5 installed to be able to download and install from Internet Explorer. As per usual Firefox does not suffer from this and allows you to download the installer and save locally, no bother.

Chrome - Adobe-Acrobat/Reader can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser.

I can't view PDF files via Chrome (it works on Internet Explorer but I prefer Chrome) - the error below has arisen recently on Chrome, though I can't see what has changed.
"Acrobat plug-in
The Adobe-Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again."
I have looked through Forum articles on similar errors and have tried the following(text copied from other Forum entries)

None has solved the problem. However it still works ok with IE. But I want to stick with Chrome because I find IE is so slow!
I am using Vista, with Adobe Acrobat standard 9.5.2 and Google Chrome version 23.0.1271.64 m which is marked on Chrome as 'up to date'
Does anyone know why I might be getting this error on Chrome but not IE?

I think I have discovered the answer to my own question!
I have disabled Adobe Reader plug-in, and can now see PDFs in Chrome.
(Steps: Chrome Menu, Settings option, Click Advanced Settings link, then Content Settings button, then select Disable Individual Plug-Ins, and a list of plug-ins is offered to enable or disable).
I then get a different result depending on whether or not Chrome PDF viewer is enabled - with it enabled I see the PDF document in Chrome, or with it disabled then the option is offered to download it, but either way I can get it it via Chrome without having to run Internet explorer in another browser window.

When using Live View, site looks great, browser testing goes crazy

I am creating a new website (and I am really unexperienced with Dreamwaver CS5). But when I check my site using "Live View" everything looks great, the way it is supposed to. Then when I go to test it in my browswer (Primary browser is Chrome) it goes crazy: I at first noticed that I had saved one copy as an .asp but then resaved it to .xhtml I did delete the first line of code already that the .asp file created as it kept giving me an error on line 1.
Then I tried to do a spry drop-down menu bar, which I have deleted since I thought I was doing something wrong with that and I should just stick to what I half-way know.
If I were to preview the template page it gives me this error:

Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

If I were to test the index.xhtml page in the browser, it ignores most images (all but one), and the first nav-bar (an editable region) appears to the left instead of under the header. The layout is totally ignored and everything is on the left-hand side of the screen instead of in a two column layout.
I am not testing this on a server just off of my computer.
I am assuming that the error has something to do with the .asp file I first did and when I resaved it, since I don't know what I would be looking for, is still in there screwing it up.

I had saved one copy as an .asp but then resaved it to .xhtml
I'm assuming this is a static web site. Rename (F2) all your pages with .html or .htm extension.
.xhtml is not a valid extension.

Creating a view and use the view in a model

Hi All,
I am new to OBIEE and i have a requirement that i have two fields to be added to a subject area. Since we can't add queries directly to a model, i have to create a view and then put the query in it and then use the view in that model.
I couldn't understand this much, if anybody could help me explaining in detail about the views and adding a query in it?

Please enable feature 'CREATE_VIEW_SUPPORTED' view just go to 'Features' tab and from the available option select 'CREATE_VIEW_SUPPORTED' is checked or not. If it is not checked then check the option.
can you explain your current model and scenario?
for example to you can use to fetch two fields from Subqueries,all trypes of joins(inner,left outer,right outer etc..,) its upto you case
e.x:fetching two tables columns mapping subquery:

What is the use of view.
we know there are 4 views,
Data Base View,
Projection View,
Maintenance View,
Help View.
What is the difference of these view.
When they are used?
On what bases we have to select what view ?

Views does not contain data it fetches data at run time
Database View (SE11)
Database views are implement an inner join, that is,
only records of the primary table (selected via the join operation)
for which the corresponding records of the secondary tables also exist are fetched.
Inconsistencies between primary and secondary table could, therefore, lead to a reduced selection set.
In database views, the join conditions can be formulated using equality relationships between any base fields.
In the other types of view, they must be taken from existing foreign keys.
That is, tables can only be collected in a maintenance or help view if they are linked to one another via foreign keys.
Help View ( SE54)
Help views are used to output additional information when the online help system is called.
When the F4 button is pressed for a screen field, a check is first made on whether a matchcode is defined for this field.
If this is not the case, the help view is displayed in which the check table of the field is the primary table.
Thus, for each table no more than one help view can be created,
that is, a table can only be primary table in at most one help view.
Projection View
Projection views are used to suppress or mask certain fields in a table (projection), thus minimizing the number of interfaces. This means that only the data that is actually required is exchanged when the database is accessed.
A projection view can draw upon only one table. Selection conditions cannot be specified for projection views.
Maintenance View ( SE54 )
Maintenance views enable a business-oriented approach to looking at data,
while at the same time, making it possible to maintain the data involved.
Data from several tables can be summarized in a maintenance view and maintained collectively via this view.
That is, the data is entered via the view and then distributed to the underlying tables by the system.

Enter the name of the view in the initial screen of the ABAP Dictionary, select object class Views and choose Create. A dialog box appears, in which you must choose the type of the view. Select the type Maintenance view.
The maintenance screen for maintenance views appears. You will see three input areas for tables, join conditions and view fields. Carry out the following actions in this screen:
Enter a short explanatory text in the field Short text.
In Tables, enter the primary tables of the view.
If required, include more tables in the view. In a help view you can only include tables which are linked to one another with foreign keys.
Position the cursor on the primary table and choose Relationships. All existing foreign key relationships of the primary table are displayed. Check the foreign keys you require and choose Copy. The secondary tables involved in such a foreign key are included in the view. The join conditions derived from the foreign keys ( Foreign Key Relationship and Join Condition) are displayed.
You can also include tables which are linked to one of the previously included secondary tables with a foreign key. To do this, position the cursor on the secondary table and choose Relationships. Then proceed as described above.
You can only select foreign keys in which the secondary table for the primary table or for the secondary table which transitively preceded it is in an n:1 relationship. This is the case if the secondary table is the check table of the base table and the foreign key was not defined generically. If the base table is the check table, the foreign key fields must be key fields of a text table or the foreign key must have cardinality of n:1 or n:C.
The foreign keys violating these conditions are displayed at the end of the list under the header Relationships with unsuitable cardinality.
Select the fields which you want to include in the view.
You can enter the field names directly. If you do not know the field names, you can copy them from the tables. To do this, position the cursor on a table and choose TabFields. The fields of the table are now displayed in a dialog box. You can copy fields from here by marking the first column and choosing on Copy.
Formulate the selection conditions. To do this choose Goto ® Selection condition. The input area for the selection conditions appears in place of the input areas for the fields. Maintain the selection condition as described in Maintaining the Selection Condition for a View. You can then switch back to the fields display with Goto ® View fields.
Activate the view with View ® Activate. A log is written during activation. You can display it with Utilities ® Activation log. If errors or warnings occurred during the activation of the view, you branch directly to the activation log.
Create the documentation for the view with Goto ® Documentation. This documentation is output for example when you print the view with View ® Print.
Branch to transaction SE54 with Environment ® Tab.maint.generator. From the view definition you can generate maintenance modules and maintenance interfaces there which distribute the data entered with the view to the base tables. You can find more information about using this transaction in the documentation Generating the Table Maintenance Dialog.
Optional Settings
You can make the following optional settings:
Change data element of a view field:
Select the Mod column (modify) for the view field and choose Enter. The Data element field is now ready for input. Enter the new data element there. This data element must refer to the same domain as the original data element. With the F4 help key for the Data element field, you can display all the data elements which refer to the domain of the field. If you want to assign the original data element again, you only have to reset the Mod flag and choose Enter.
Change maintenance status:
The Maintenance Status defines how you can access the view data with the standard maintenance transaction (SM30). Choose Extras ® Maintenance status. A dialog box appears in which you can select the maintenance status of the view.
Define the delivery class of the view:
Choose Extras ® Delivery class. A dialog box appears in which you can enter the delivery class of the maintenance view.
Define the maintenance attribute of a view field
The maintenance attribute defines special access modes for the fields of the view. You can make the following entries in field F in the input area for the view fields:
R : Only purely read accesses are permitted for fields with this flag. Maintenance with transaction SM30 is not possible for such fields.
S : Fields with this flag are used to create subsets when maintaining view data. Only a subset of the data is displayed. This subset is defined by entering the corresponding value in this field.
H : Fields with this flag are hidden from the user during online maintenance. They do not appear on the maintenance screen. You have to ensure in a separate procedure that each such field has the correct contents. Otherwise, they are left empty.
: There are no restrictions on field maintenance.
Check functions:
With Extras ® Runtime object ® Check you can determine whether the definition of the view in the ABAP Dictionary maintenance is identical to the specifications in the runtime object of the view. With Extras ® Runtime object ® Display you can display the runtime object of the view.
Display foreign key of a view field:
If a foreign key which was automatically included in the view definition is defined for the field of the base table, you can display it. To do so, position the cursor on the view field and choose Extras ® Foreign keys.
Display foreign key on which a join condition is based:
If a join condition was derived from a foreign key, you can display its definition. To do so, position the cursor on the join condition and choose Extras ® Foreign keys.

Cant open PDF files..It says the adobe acrobat reader that is running can not be used to view files in a browser..plz suggest the solution.thanks

Whenever i try to open a PDF file it says " The adobe/acrobar reader that is running can not be used to view files in a web browser. Plz exit adobe/acrobat readerand exit your web browser and try again." Wt do i need to do, plz suggest.

Reader 9.2 - "can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser"

I recently deployed Adobe 9.2 within our organization. I used the Adobe Customization Wizard 9 to transform the install set, and selected the "Display PDF in Browser" option as default.
When opening a PDF linked from a web URL, we get the message: "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Please exit and try again." This occurs under IE8 and IE6, in both Windows XP SP2 and Windows 7.
If I launch Adobe Reader and unselect "Display PDF in Browser" in preferences, PDFs open normally.

I think I have discovered the answer to my own question!
I have disabled Adobe Reader plug-in, and can now see PDFs in Chrome.
(Steps: Chrome Menu, Settings option, Click Advanced Settings link, then Content Settings button, then select Disable Individual Plug-Ins, and a list of plug-ins is offered to enable or disable).
I then get a different result depending on whether or not Chrome PDF viewer is enabled - with it enabled I see the PDF document in Chrome, or with it disabled then the option is offered to download it, but either way I can get it it via Chrome without having to run Internet explorer in another browser window.

Is there a way I can view/manage devices linked to my iCloud account? I know how to view the devices linked to my iTunes account, but I am not sure if this is possible to see with an iCloud account.

You can't, except by seeing if they are using services associated with the account. You could, for example, launch Find My iPhone on iCloud.com to see what devices appear (which obviously wouldn't show devices not using Find My iPhone). Similarly, you could go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage to see what devices appear on the Backups list (which won't show devices not using iCloud backup).

Using a view instead of a select statement

Ive got a problem. Im writing a program and one of the things i do is i use 2 select statements which are as follows:
Read all organisational relationships for all business partneru2019s linked to sales codes for all date ranges

      and relat   eq '008'
      or   relat   eq 'Z40'.

    and   relat eq '291'
    and   otype eq 'S'.
I have however been told that i can use the database view HRVPADIC since the hrp1001 table is giving me duplicats which i dont want. Can anyone tell me how to use this view i.e. syntax and logic. I would really appreciate it.

Well, I don't see how using the view would be better. Why don't you just get all of the data at once:
SELECT * FROM hrp1001 INTO TABLE lt_hrp1001
WHERE     plvar EQ '01'
    AND     sclas EQ 'BP'
    AND ( ( relat EQ '008'
     OR     relat EQ 'Z40' )
     OR     relat EQ '291'
    AND     otype EQ 'S' ).
(I didn't test this so check it.)

Using a view

hi folks,
I want the help is creating and using the view. I need to grab data from four different tables JHTFP(3), JHAMOT (2), KNOV(2) AND MHND(1). The connection between these tables is BSEG. I went ahead and created a view pulling up these fields. gave the releavt join conditions between them. when I activate it is throwing me some errors.
it is asking for client dependency factor I did select the 'mandt' field on one of the tables. besides the BSEG,MHND and KONV are cluster tables. How to set up the join conditions for the 'mandt' fields in various tables?If anybody could help me setting up the view rightly that would help.
Instead of writing the complex query I went ahead with it.

Using a view to join two tables

Thank you in advance for any advice you can lend.
I am using this code in my MySQL db to create a view.
select
    job.id as job_id,
    umr_cost_calculation.plant_name,
    max(umr_cost_calculation.id) as max_id
from
    job,
    umr_cost_calculation
where
    job.id = umr_cost_calculation.job_id
group by job.id , umr_cost_calculation.plant_name
I did this so I can join two tables and pull in the most current cost data for a specific plant. The report will, at times, show the wrong (older) data. I can re-run the report, filter to just the one job and see again the wrong data. When I add the max_id to the report, it display the id and updates the report with the correct data. It appears that the view was stale and by adding the ID to the report this fixed the issue.
1) Is this the best way to make this join? I don't see how Crystal supports a subquery to make a join (this is why I used the view).
2) If I leave the max_id on the report, will this force the view to always update?
