Using Additonal File(s) in file adapter

Hi,
I would like to know the usage of Additional File(s) in sender file adapter with an example. I have gone through [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm40/helpdata/en/3c/b4a6490a08cd41a8c91759c3d2f401/content.htm] but it was not of much help for me.
Thanks,
Vishal

Hi Vishal,
The option additional file is used to included in the XI message as attachments.
Points to be noted are:
1. All additional files must be in the source directory.
2. Additional files can only be transported unaltered without conversion options
3. Messages with additional attachments require a receiver that can process them.
Parameters of the Additional file names are mentioned in the link below:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm40/helpdata/en/3c/b4a6490a08cd41a8c91759c3d2f401/content.htm
Thanks,

  • Flat File to Flat File Scenario using File Adapter

    Hi Experts,
                    In my scenario, requirement is Flat File to Flat file through File Adapter in PI. At sender end, we would need to use Sender File Adapter (NFS) and receiver end we would need to use Receiver File Adapter (FTP). File would be coming as a encrypted format, and the file needs to be sent in encrypted format.
                    Any idea how to proceed with this requirement would be helpful.
    Thanks and Regards
    Soumya

    Hi Soumya,
    You need to choose the FTP in the "transport protocol" option. Then in the FTP connection parameters choose the option Connection Security and assign the value "FTPS for control and Data Connection". Then the "Command Order" will show up below that option and you could leave the default value itself. If you are using Public private key certificates of X.509 then you could choose the option "Use x.509 certificate for client authentication" and assign the values to the "keystore" and "certificate & private key" fields.
    Note: To use the FTP with SSL you need to add the CA certificate to the TrustedCAs keystore view.

  • Using FileIOInteractionSpec Class For Moving File using File Adapter

    Hi All,
    I am tring to use FileIOInteractionSpec class to move a file from one location to another. The problem is that I am not able to override its properties from BPEL, here is how the FileAdapter.jca file looks like which moves the file from one location to another:
    <adapter-config name="MoveFileService" adapter="File Adapter" wsdlLocation="MoveFileService.wsdl" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
    <connection-factory location="eis/FileAdapter"/>
    <endpoint-interaction portType="MoveFile_ptt" operation="MoveFile">
    <interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileReadInteractionSpec">
    <property name="DeleteFile" value="true"/>
    <property name="PhysicalDirectory" value="C:\FileRead"/>
    <property name="FileName" value="dummy.txt"/>
    </interaction-spec>
    </endpoint-interaction>
    *<endpoint-interaction portType="MoveFile_ptt" operation="Move">*
    *<interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileIoInteractionSpec">*
    *<property name="Type" value="MOVE"/>*
    *<property name="SourcePhysicalDirectory" value="C:\FileRead"/>*
    *<property name="SourceFileName" value="dummy.txt"/>*
    *<property name="TargetPhysicalDirectory" value="C:\FileRead2"/>*
    *<property name="TargetFileName" value="dummyCopy.txt"/>*
    *</interaction-spec>*
    *</endpoint-interaction>*
    </adapter-config>
    In the above code, I have hard-coded the values, and it works fine like that.
    However, when I try to override these values by defining properies in BPEL invoke's tag, the values are getting passed as null.
    Here is the invoke tag code, tried the following 2 combinations:
    <invoke name="InvokeFileMove"
    inputVariable="InvokeFileMove_MoveFile_InputVariable"
    partnerLink="MoveFileService" portType="ns1:MoveFile_ptt"
    operation="Move" bpelx:invokeAsDetail="no">
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.SourcePhysicalDirectory" value="C:\FileRead"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.SourceFileName" value="dummy.txt"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.TargetPhysicalDirectory" value="C:\FileRead2"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.TargetFileName" value="dummyCopy.txt"/>
    </invoke>
    And
    <invoke name="InvokeFileMove"
    inputVariable="InvokeFileMove_MoveFile_InputVariable"
    partnerLink="MoveFileService" portType="ns1:MoveFile_ptt"
    operation="Move" bpelx:invokeAsDetail="no">
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="SourcePhysicalDirectory" value="C:\FileRead"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="SourceFileName" value="dummy.txt"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="TargetPhysicalDirectory" value="C:\FileRead2"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="TargetFileName" value="dummyCopy.txt"/>
    </invoke>
    These four properties are not visible in Invoke -> Properties tab as well.
    Could you please suggest how can I override the jca's values for FileIOInteractionSpec class?

    I have successfully used this API and it works fine.
    Try to use variables which contains values like "dummyCopy.txt" etc.
    Here is what I used :
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.SourceDirectory"
    variable="inputDirectory"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.SourceFileName"
    variable="inputFileName"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.TargetDirectory"
    variable="destinationDirectory"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.TargetFileName"
    variable="inputFileName"/>
    Pass approppriate values into the above given variables and try.
    Hopefully it should work.
    Let us know, how it goes !

  • What is the max file limit for FTP adapter that uses FileIoInteractionSpec

    Hi,
    I know that Oracle provided some new features in 10.1.3.4 using which we can use the file and ftp adapter to move files in a more efficient way
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/relnotes.1013/e12523/adapters.htm#CHDGFAAB
    Essentially it involves modifying the WSDL to use the new InteractionSpec="oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileIoInteractionSpec"
    Now my question is, what is the file size limit which can be transferred using this.
    I have tried with 20 mb file, it works. But I want to know the upper limit.
    Thanks,

    Tried with 31 mb file.
    It successfully delivers the file but....

    I understand that sync read is a sync operation, so obviously it was going to timeout, as this transfer took around 4 minutes for me. But then, isnt this a bug from Oracle's side

  • Use temporary file in FTP receiver adapter

    Hi guys,
    I'm not getting the purpose of "use temporary file" in FTP receiver adapter. Can you describe any situation, where this should be used?
    What is the location of this temporary file?
    Is it deleted after "normal" file is created?
    Thanks a lot,
    Olian

    > I'm not getting the purpose of "use temporary file" in FTP receiver adapter. Can you describe any situation, where this should be used?
    Some times when you create the file on your target dir then if there is another application looking for same file is quite faster to pick the file before it is complety written on target dir then in this situation using temporary file option is very helpful. What it does, it simply creates the file first by using temporary name once all bytes or bits has been transfered then it creates the original name and the temp file get deleted.
    > What is the location of this temporary file?
    Same location, where your original file is suppose to be written.
    > Is it deleted after "normal" file is created?
    Yes.

  • Using HAL to generate XML files

    Greetings,<BR>I'd like to use HAL to build XML files and feeding certain variables while these files are generated. When the XML file is done being created, it will contain the variables passed. Hi,
    I'm running into the same problem deploying the classes generated by the class generator. Code works fine from JDeveloper, but had to put my DTD in the directory where my classes are. Deploying the classes with Apache's JServ gives me a NullPointer exception on the first addNode method. I guess it can't find the DTD. I tried to put the DTD in many locations but this didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions?
    Steve,
    Did you fix this problem? Thanx!

  • Dynamic File name in File Adapter

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to pass dynamic file name in File Adapter.
    Is there any way to pass a variable for the file name attribut in file adapter.
    I am looking for some options apart from %yyMMddHHmmss%,%SEQ%...etc
    Please suggest if any of you have information on how to put values from a variable to file name attribute in file adapter
    regards
    Saiju

    Hi Saiju,
    Yes there is.
    Assign your file name to a variable, let's say 'fileName'.
    Now go to your invoke activity(for the specific fileadapter) -> Property tab-> find a property call jca.file.FileName -> in the value field assign 'fileName' variable.
    That's it... (assuming you are using 11g)

  • Dynamic Receiver file name in AS2 adapter

    Hi Experts,
    How to get dynamic receiver file name in AS2 adapter. We need receiver file name same as of sender file name.
    We tried selecting dynamic attributes file name but we are getting followin error in CC.
    Message processing failed. Cause: javax.resource.ResourceException: Fatal exception: com.seeburger.xi.connector.queue.TaskBuildException: Mandatory attribute dtAS2FileName is not present in XI message., Mandatory attribute dtAS2FileName is not present in XI message.
    Thanks,
    Hari

    hi hari,
    You can't do it manually. As both adapter are in different context.
    You can go with UDF to slove ur problem.
    Just extract the input file name using Dynamic configuration
    Store that in some variable.
    Use same name in the dynamic file name in AS2 receiver. Below code might be useful.
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create( "http://seeburger.com/xi/common/dtAS2FileName", "DYNFILENAME");
    conf.put(key,strfilename);
    Thanks

  • Xml file in dynamic file name in file receiver adapter

    Hi,
    I'm doing the dynamic file name in file receiver adapter. I have done as per instructed in /people/jayakrishnan.nair/blog/2005/06/20/dynamic-file-name-using-xi-30-sp12-part--i
    All turned out okay. I have got the file name I require. Except that the file format is XML and I need to suppress the filename node occupied by the dynamic file name.
    The content conversion mentioned in /people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/11/solution-to-the-problem-encountered-using-variable-substitution-with-xi-sp12, does not seem to solve my problem. As it is only for file format other than the XML one, because we only do the content conversion if we want to "convert" the format of the content from XML to the other format.
    Does anybody have the solution to my problem? thanks in advance

    Thank you Raj for the direction
    The way to do it is :
    1. In ID, advanced tab, put a check on the adapter-specific message attributes - file name.
    2. Put a "*" on the file name scheme
    3. In IR, create a UDF to set up target file name :
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container
    .getTransformationParameters()
    .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    // set up file name for receiver adapter
    String SourceFileName = conf.get(key);
    conf.put(key, TargetFileName);
    return " ";
    4. Map the above UDF to the header level of the target structure.

    Idi

  • File name in file adapter

    Hello Guys,
    I need to get a message from RFC, map it in a way that I wouldn't need to do any file conversions in file adapter and send it to FTP. How could I set the file name in this case?
    PS: the file name cannot be included in payload, while I don't want to do any conversations of that payload...
    Many thanks for your answers,
    Milan

    Hi Milan,
    Is your query related to  sending the file name from the source xml document to the reciever file adapter. If so this can be achieved.
    Pls. do the following.
    1.  in the mapping program that you are using populate the filename coming from the source into the target in any of the fileds.
    2.Sender adapters can write adapter-specific attributes to the message header; these can then be evaluated at configuration time
    3. To change the adapter-specific attributes of the message header by using message mappings, you access the required classes of the mapping API by using a mapping runtime constant.
    To access the classes DynamicConfiguration and DynamicConfigurationKey by using the mapping runtime constant DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION, use the method getTransformationParameters() of the container object.
    Create an simple user defined function in the mapping and use the following code.
    Imports: com.sap.aii.mapping.api.*;
    Parameter: String filename
    Paramter: String filename;
    filename = fileName + ".DAT";
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container
           .getTransformationParameters()
           .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create( "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File", "FileName");
    conf.put(key, filename);
    return filename;
    You donot need to hard code the value of the filename in the file adapter for your interface.
    In SXMB_MONI, when you see the pipeline services you would see that the value of the filename is populated in the message payload.
    Thanks

  • Strange Problem in File Archiving - Sender FTP Adapter

    Hi,
    The scenario is file to IDOc. XI has to read the input file from client FTP server and archive it to XI local file server.
    File is archived properly without FCC (for xml files). But with FCC, the sender FTP adapter is archiving empty files (0 kb files) not the original file with data.
    I've checked SXMB_MONI, even there I can see the file data and the IDoc is getting posted with proper data. But, the archived file is empty. Not sure about the problem.
    Please suggest. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Joe.

    Hi,
    I've already tried archiving the file to the FTP server itself, it's working fine (even with FCC). But, when I try to archive it to the XI server (read from FTP and archive at XI server), it's writing empty file to the XI archive directory. I'm using PI 7.0 SP 14. My sender FTP adapter dtls follow
    Data Connection: Passive
    Timeout Secs: 500
    Connect Mode: Permanently
    Transfer Mode: text and binary tried both
    File type: text and binary tried both..
    Looking out for a solution.
    Thanks,
    Joe.

  • Take Source file path in sender adapter from an environment variable .

    Hi,
    Is it possible to take source file path(half file path) dynamically in sender file adapter.
    Please suggest any alternative to this.

    Hi,
    One option, use Dynamic Configuration and set the values in the Mapping.
    By the ways, the File Directory and the Filename are taken runtime in the file adapters after transportation.
    Only if you are using FTP will you need to key in the FTP addess user id password etc.
    Refer -- same way try for File adapter

    Ps Note : I have personally never tried it to use the Dynamic Configuration for file path. But you can try.

  • File Matching with FTP Adapter

    Guys,
    I have particular requirement where FTP Adapter needs to read set of files
    FILENAME.PCL
    FILENAME.I01
    the file name would be matching but extensions are different.
    the adapter needs to read the file match if they are SET of files ( based on file name) and move into target directory if not move into Error Directory .The Data needs some manipulation before it's written into target location so we are using ESB ( also for error notification) is it possible with FTP Adapter within ESB?
    Thanks

    May be difficult with ESB, may require BPEL. Can you give a specific example as that would make it easier to see what you mean.

  • File conversion and append file in receiver file adapter

    Hi
    I have a batch IDoc -> XI(3.0) -> file scenario with file conversion to create a flat CSV-like file. The problem is that because of the amount of data sent from R/3 (~20000 employees), the idoc is split into several idocs. In my receiver file adapter I want to append all the idocs contained in this data transfer to one flat file, before transmitting to FTP server.
    For the next batch transfer (the next day) XI should start all over and create a new file and append all idocs contained in that transfer before transmitting the flat file to FTP server.
    Can this be done using the 'Use Temporary File' and 'Append' options in the FTP connection Parameters in the comm-channel?
    It is not an option to append the file in the FTP-server, because the files in the destination folder are moved immediately after arrival, so the file will be moved before file adapter can append all the files.
    Does anyone have any suggestions to how to solve this?
    Br
