Using Ant To Control WebLogic

Question

I have a continuous integration suite that I now need to add the ability to start WebLogic on a remote system. Here are the steps:
1) Check to see if the remote system is available.
2) If available, check to see if it's running WebLogic.
3) If running WebLogic, deploy an app using wldeploy.
4) If not running WebLogic, start WebLogic using wlserver then deploy the app.
Is there a way to query the machine to see if it's alive and later query to see if WebLogic is running on it? Thanks, Jeremy

Examples that comes with WLS6.1, all the task from compiling the source to
the
packaging the application is done thru ant.
( finally it copies the application into the "applications" directory. Only
thing is left is to
start the WLS 6.1 )

Do you know of any Bea supported Ant tasks to actually deploy into BEA(i.e.,
that will take care of the entire depolyment process .... without anyhuman intervention
-- from packaging all the way to full deployment)
