Using BIA_RegisterCalcValidationProgram in Excel AUTO_OPEN macro

The documentation for the Spreadsheet Addin, section 5.5, states:
"You can include the BIA_RegisterCalcValidationProgram() macro in the auto_open procedure to automatically register the program for calculation and validation when a workbook is opened."
I have created an AUTO_OPEN() procedure in Excel, and stored it in my personal.xls. I also have the Oracle BI add-in starting automatically.
However, when I start Excel, I get a Microsoft Visual Basic Compile error: "Sub or Function not defined", and it's highlighting the BIA_RegisterCalcValidationProgram function in the debugger.
I can use that function just fine by calling it from a button, but that happens after Excel has successfully started. I want to register the program when Excel opens, as the documentation says I can.
Here is my AUTO_OPEN procedure, as stored in personal.xls:

Please note that this exact same code works just fine as a standalone macro. It's only when used in the Auto_Open that it fails.
Am I missing a step somewhere?

Incidentally, if I use this as the AUTO_OPEN macro in personal.xls, it works just fine, so I'm pretty sure AUTO_OPEN is the right place to be:

    I am trying to run some custom events as soon as I open any report in BPC (all reports have been built using EVDRE). I tried using Auto_Open() macro to do the custom events but I observed that it does not function in BPC (however Auto_Close() works). Any idea how I can do so?
    To give an example, in one of the reports, I want to set a pre-defined Current view. I have used EVMNU("Set CV",,...) function on the on report page (in cell R1). When this cell is selected, the current view is set to default view. I want this cell to get clicked (selected) automatically when the report is opened so that the initial view is set to default view. Is there a way to do this? Thanks

    LibreOffice will not run Excel macros (read below) without some work, it's not a good solution, I also do not think that the free online version of MS Office (comes with OneDrive) has VBA, so no macros there either.
    Bottom line is if you want to run macros from Excel, you'll need Excel. Preferably the Windows version (the Mac version may be better than Pages, but it's a toy in comparison to the real Excel)
    Macros in Microsoft Office and LibreOffice
    With a few exceptions, Microsoft Office and LibreOffice cannot run the same macro code. Microsoft Office uses VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) code, and LibreOffice uses Basic code based on the LibreOffice API (Application Program Interface) environment. Although the programming language is the same, the objects and methods are different.
    The most recent versions of LibreOffice can run some Excel Visual Basic scripts if you enable this feature at LibreOffice - PreferencesTools - Options - Load/Save - VBA Properties.
    If you use macros in one of the applications and want to use the same functionality in the other application, you must edit the macros. LibreOffice can load the macros that are contained within Microsoft Office files and you can then view and edit the macro code in the LibreOffice Basic IDE editor.
    You can choose to preserve or delete VBA macros
    Open a Microsoft Office document that contains VBA macro code. Change only the normal contents (text, cells, graphics), and do not edit the macros. Save the document as a Microsoft Office file type. Open the file in Microsoft Office, and the VBA macros will run as before.
    You may delete the VBA macros from the Microsoft Office file on loading or on saving.
    Choose Tools - Options - Load/Save - VBA Properties to set the VBA macro handling of LibreOffice.

    It also requires the Office Report Generation Toolkit.....
    So maybe i shorten this and tell you that the toolkit includes a VI called "Excel Run Macro.vi". Within this VI, an ActiveX call is done to the Excel Application class called "Run" taking many optional arguments.
    So working with ActiveX to interface with Excel will give you the needed toolsuite.
    Please refer to msdn.microsoft.com for specific help on Microsoft products (like Excel). You can use this link for an easier start.

    Looking for a 58mm protective or UV filter for a Canon Macro Lens EF using a Cannon MR-14EX Macro Ring Lite flash unit.
    The lens has an external groove for the ring flash pawls, but filters I've found do not.  The external diameter of the filters does not allow the ring flash pawls to reach the lens groove.  I either need a filter with an external groove or one with no part larger diameter than the threads.  Any ideas?  Thanks, Tom

    Which lens are you using?  This adapter will work, so long as the front element doesn't rotate.

  • RDL reports(2008).File name after using Export to Excel is not comming properly in mozilla firefox.

    I am using Export to Excel functionality in rdl report.
    File name should be "Profitabilty By Buyer". It is working as expected in IE and chrome.
    But in mozilla firefox the file name appears as "Profitabilty".
    So the issue is it doesnt consider anything after space and user requirement is such that I cant put underscore("_") also instead of space.
    Kindly suggest the proper solution.

    Reporting Services, we use a Web browser to view the report that deploy to Report Service. However, not all report functionally is supported by all browsers. Such as, the print button is not supported in Mozilla Firefox. It works only in Internet Explorer
    due to it uses ActiveX for the print button.
    I have tested it on my local environment, (SQL Server Reporting Services 2008, Firefox 28.0), we cannot reproduce this issue. So the issue can be the custom setting of your browser. Since SSRS reports are not about targeting NON-IE browsers, so in your scenario,
    we recommend you use IE to view report on Report Manager.
    And you said that you cannot put underscore ("_") also instead of space. However we can do this which you can see on the screenshot below.

    No, you do not need to install Office on the SharePoint server to utilize the Excel Services. Office should not be installed on the SharePoint server.
    Do they need Office Web Apps? Are they looking to have the capability to edit documents in the browser maybe? Or have document preview on search? Office Web Apps would be required for this, but this is a different product than Office.

    Thank you.  I was able to find the security setting section.  The problem I have now, however, is writing the VBA to save to PDF and incorporate the security settings.  I thought if i applied the settings to the Excel document I was working on it would carry over, but this does not seem to be the case.  Any idea's?
