Using BPS numberic variables in the FOX formula???

Hi all,
Can someone tell me how to use one variable (<b>the variable type is 'numberic'</b>) in the FOX formula? Thank you.
FOX formula example:
<b>Inventory $= inventory unit * inventory (per unit) * depreciation monthS (<u>this is a numberic variable</u>.</b>
J.

Hi John,
   You can use the VARV function to get the value of the numeric variable in FOX.
   Lets say your variable for depreciation months is ZDEPMTS.In your FOX, you
   can say: Inventory $= inventory unit * inventory (per unit) * VARV(ZDEPMTS).
   Hope this helps.
Cheers

  • How do I use an array variable in the assignment target?

    Hi,
    I am creating a BPEL process in which I have to use an array variable. The array variable needs to be initialized based on some condition.
    The issue is I cannot find a way to set the value of the array variable. There are ways to GET the value of an array variable indexing into it.
    But how do I set the value by using the Array variable in the <to> tag?
    Any help is appreciated. I am using BPEL 10.1.2.0.2.
    Thanks.

    You can declare a variable of type integer which will server as your index. Figure out based on some condition in your process which index of array to update. Assign to your integer variable you created.
    And have Assign copy operation like this -
    <copy>
    <from variable="Var_Output_FetchDueDate"
    part="OutputParameters"
    query="/ns18:OutputParameters/ns18:DUEDATE"/>
    <to variable="outputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/client:GetCustomerAccountInformationProcessResponse/client:customer/client:accounts/client:account[$Var_Counter]/client:dueDate"/>
    </copy>
    I have been using this in my processes.

  • Error while using selection option variable in the selection screen

    Hi All,
    I am facing an issue while using selection option variable in the selection screen for one of my reports.
    Scenario: For the field "Region From" we need to have wild card logic () in tes selection screen, for example if we put "BE" in the selection screen for the field Region From then the query should be executed only for those "Region From" values which begin from "BE".
    Approach: For the above requirement I have made a selection option variable for "Region From". This allows use wild card
    But when the report is executed we get the following error:
    "System error in program CL_RSR_REQUEST. Invalid filter on ETVRGNFR".
    (ETVRGNFR is technical name of the info object Region From)
    Though the report is executed it displays all the values for the field "Region From" irrespective of the selection given in the selection screen.
    Please give suggestions / alternate solutions to crack this issue.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Priyanka.

  • How to change the variable value in fox formula?

    Hi All,
        Please help me achieve this scenario,
             in the variable selection screen , i wil give some i/p like, calyear(0calyear) = 2008.
          In planing function using FOX formula, i must be able change the variable value to 2009.
      Will it be possible to achieve this, can we change a variable value using FOX formula, if possible
    please let me knw how to achieve this.
    Thanks n Regards,
    Priya.

    Hi Priyadarshini,
    i dont know what is your requirement exactly.If you can give a better explanation of ur requirement we can help you. But to answer your question yes we can get new values for the variable in the planning function.
    for this you need to couple the planning function together with the planning filter in a planning sequence. This planning filter should have the variable that you wanted to change. In the WAD when you want to call this planning sequence there is an option to call variable screen. If you enable this, it will pop up the variable screen to get this value again.
    Guess this was helpful.

  • How to use the SORT in the Fox Formulas

    Hi,
    Is it possible to use the  SORT in the Fox forumals, if it is so
    what is the syntax for SORT.
    I
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    SG

    Hi,
    What exactly you want to SORT ?
    SAP provides in built sort functionality when you are using Looping conditions:
    For instance: Here in below example, data records will be come in sorted order of A,B,C. If you want to change the order, change the sequence.. B,A,C or as per your requirement.
    Foreach A, B,C
    Endfor.
    Thanks

  • Using custom environment variables in the profile path

    Hi,
    I've created a custom environment variable that I've setup on two computers and the domain controllers.  I want to use this in the profile path in user properties.  However when users log in the variable is taken literally rather than being converted
    into the value.  For example
    \\fileserver\share\user\%myenv%.v2 is generated rather than \\fileserver\share\user\envdata.v2
    If I add in another built-in variable such as %OS%, that converts properly but any time I use a custom variable Windows just doesn't use it during the logon process.  If I open up Explorer and type in the path to my data as it should be it works fine
    so Windows is definitely picking up the variable, just not using during the logon process.  I can't seem to find a TechNet article that states custom variables can't be used in profile paths.
    Has anyone else come across this?
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post.
    So did you create the environment variable using group policy? If yes, i would suggest you use 'Create' and not 'Update', the variable is then held through reboots.
    Please refer to this blog, hope it will be helpful

  • Using a select clause in the column formula in an Analysis

    Hi all,
    Is there a function or syntax that I can use to simulate a "SELECT" clause in the column formula of an Analysis? What I am trying to achieve is displaying a measure from a specific fact record into the current record. For example, if the current record displays "Region","position", and "salary", I would like to add an additional column called "compared to" in which I can display the "salary" measure from another specific fact record whose attributes I know.
    Is there a function/statement that I can use to achieve this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    U can't do it in Edit formula column..it's possible below one
    Add SQL filter in that column then follow blow steps
    Convert this filter to SQL
    i.e : add more option to sql here u can write SQL query in that column
    Thanks

  • How to use customer exit variable in the report

    Dear All,
    i want to use a standard customer exit variable in the report properties.
    In the Bex Query Designer right hand bottom you will find two buttons "Properties" and "Task". Click on task you will get different option. Choose properties from there and then select "variable sequence tab".
    I need to add a standard variable there. How can i achieve it?
    Appreciate your early help.

    You need to add variable to corresponding charctertic then you can get that varaible for sorting the sequence....
    If 0CUST is the varaible then you need to assign it 0CUSTOMER then 0CUST will be available for the sequence.

  • Write to a file using a system variable in the path

    I got an error when I used the following command to write a file
    OdiOutFile "-FILE=<%=System.getProperty("LOG")%>\test.log" -APPEND "-CHARSET_ENCODING=ISO8859_1" "-XROW_SEP=0D0A"
    The "LOG' is an environment variable.
    The error is
    java.lang.Exception: Oracle Data Integrator Function does not exist
    It looks like ODI treat System.getProperty as ODI function instead of java method. I use SUNOPSIS API as technology in the command

    At this moment I can't give a source code example because I'm writing it :) and I'm trying to see the cases where I may have some problems.
    But my idea is to access the file at any time and to write into it with differenent threads in a differenet places in this file. In fact the problem I'm trying to solve is :
    I have a objects called Data that are generated by some other thread independent of my application. This thread puts the Data objects in some kind if buffer. When the buffer is full, I'm creating a few threads fo every object Data in this buffer (the data objects in its own is some collection of floats and doubles) So I'm trying to position the new created threads over the file but in different places and then make them write the data collected in the object Data.
    To position de threads over the file, I'm accessing it by some synchronous method to undestand where it can write in this file and the writing is not synchronous because I'm trying to calculate the exact place and number of bytes of writing and in this way to avoid (may be) the eventuality of errors.

  • Using a cell twice in the same formula

    Can I reference the same cell twice in a formula? i.e.. cell-(cell*25%). I was able to do this in Excel but cant seem to find a way in numbers.

    i,
    Yvan has indicated how to add a second reference to a given cell if you are pointing and clicking to insert your references. You can also always just type the reference into the formula editor and Numbers will not complain.

  • Use of Bind Variable in the Query of view object giving null pointer excep

    I am using this code in the backing bean of my page to set the value of the bind variable 'cmdID' in the view object.
    String AM = "model.UnixCommandsAppMod";
    String CF = "UnixCommandsAppModLocal";
    ApplicationModule am = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(AM, CF);
    ViewObject vo = am.findViewObject("Command_options_view");
    vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("cmdID", 1);
    vo.executeQuery();
    On the fifth line it is giving NullPointer exception.
    I am not being able to figure out the reason.

    User,
    a). Don't keep posting new questions in the same thread. It really does decrease the usability of the forum. Now, if someone searches for "INFO: ADF Faces is running with time-stamp checking enabled," they will find a post about null pointer exception in a bind variable and think, "oh, that doesn't apply to me." If your question is answered, mark the answer as correct. New questions go into a new thread. Kind of funny that the thread I pointed you to with the answer to your question also has this same admonishment.. ;)
    b). I'll relent and answer your new question. Ignore that INFO message. It is not an error. It will ALWAYS ALWAYS appear when you run your application in the embedded OC4J with JDeveloper. Had you searched the forum for "INFO: ADF Faces is running with time-stamp checking enabled" you would find that the first hit (among some others) has this same answer

  • Use of bind variables with the oracle db - to improve library cache perform

    Dear Friends,
    We are using oracle 9.0.1.1.1 db server - the performance of the db was pathetic and upon investigation it was revealed that the library cache was over loaded with sql hard parses generated by not using bind variables. We are using vb as a front end with oracle and our connection object in vb is created using ole db for oracle provided by oracle (installed from oracle client custom - programmer option).
    I would appreciate if any body can tell how can we use bind variables in vb to connect to oracle such that the hard parses can be changed into soft parses.
    Your effort to bring some peace in my life is worth comendable and I would be very obliged for your time and help.
    Thanks a lot.
    Bye
    Take care.
    qj

    Generally, you would use bind variables by changing statements that are written like this
    select * from emp where empno=6678 and ename='Jones'
    so that they're written like
    select * from emp where empno=? and ename=?
    How you then bind these question marks to the particular values you want depends on the API you're using (ADO? OLE DB directly?, etc). If you have a support contract, there are plenty of examples for any API on metalink.oracle.com

  • Unable to use my numbers pad on the right.

    How can I correct the problem.
    Thankks

    I have a similar problem with some of my customers.  After upgrading to Adobe XI, they can no longer use the number pad to enter information.  The numbers above the keyboard work fine.  They are on Windows 7 and IE.  They are trying to enter information into a fillable forms or .fdf file.  I have read that the Touch Mode can be causing this but I have had them go in and disable touch mode in Reader.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks
