Using DBCO with a non 'Z' table

Hi all,
I need to access a table in an Oracle DB. the connection in transactioncode DBCO is created. But when I try to select from table 'FTTH' i get the message ' "FTTH" is not defined in the ABAP Dictionary.........'.
I have been told that the table also needs to be created in SAP. But how due I solve this when the table name dos not start with a 'Z'.
I have been sugested that the way to solve this is to create an Alias on the Oracle server. Is this the correct way. Or is there a way to solve it in SAP without creating a non 'Z' table.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards
Dennis

Hello Dennis,
you could use native sql to access this table ( commands EXEC SQL.  ... ENDEXEC ).
Have a look on OSS - note 323151 .

    Create your NOT NULL check constraints using ALTER TABLE and name them as you would a primary or foreign key ... with a name that makes sense.
    I personally have a strong dislike for system generated naming and would be thrilled if this lazy practice of defining columns as NOT NULL during table creation went away.

  • Inconsistent SQL results when using View with UNION-ALL and table function

    Can any of you please execute the below scripts and check the output. In the table type variable, I am adding 4 distinct object ids, where as in the result, I get only the row pertaining to last id in the table type variable. Same row is returned 4 times (4= number of values in the table type).
    This scenario is occurring in our product with a SQL with exactly same pattern. I could simulate the same issue with the sample script I have provided.

    Hi,

    appears to work with srgb. How can I put these
    elements togerther to create a BufferedImage.
    Regards,
    MArk1. Try posting to Java 2D.
    2. You are right about IndexColorModel. The simplest thing to do is to take your color map data and convert it to sRGB, then:
    IndexColorModel icm = new IndexColorModel(8, size, reds, greens, blues);
    BufferedImage bi = new BufferedImage(icm, raster, false, null);Your raster is still valid because its single band of pixel data is just offsets into the color map -- remember that rasters are ColorModel-agnostic.
    3. If you want to keep your ColorSpace, you could implement your own version of IndexColorModel -- a fair bit of work, and then other classes, like BufferedImageOps, may not support it... You could also give up on using an Index- sort of ColorModel and convert your raster data so that you can have a Packed/DirectColorModel - these assume the ColorSpace is of type RGB, but not necessarily the ColorSpace sRGB, or a general ComponentColorModel. The down side to these choices is that you cannot directly use the raster.

  • RemoteObject with a non AMF protocol

    Hi !
    I am trying to use RemoteObject with a non AMF protocol.
    This is a section of my services.xml that is added to the

  • Can Shuttles be based non-base  table ViewObjects with transient attributes

    Hello,
    Users have to select records from a data collection and a Shuttle looks most appropriate/nice for this purpose. We can introduce technical intersection tables in order to generate the Shuttles with JHeadstart 10g R3 if necessary, but there is no “functional” need to update any data in the database and therefore it would be practical if the ‘right’ side from a Shuttle can be based non-base table ViewObjects with transient attributes only. So, our interested is to know which records have been selected, i.e. moved to the right side from the Shuttle.
    Hope that my question is clear enough.
    Greetings,
    Michael

    Michael,
    This cannot be generated out-of-the-box.
    It is easiest to add the shuttle post-generation to your page, and then create a custom template to generate your custom shuttle into the page. I suggest you take a look at an example of a generated shuttle in a page, and the JHeadstart IntersectionShuttleBean class. You will see that the value property of <af:selectManyShuttle> points to the selectedKeys method in the JHeadstart Shuttle bean. In your case, you can create your own managed bean and bind the value property to your own method which will provide you access to the selected rows. The value property of the selectItem within the af:selectManyShuttle determines the property that is used to identify the selected row (which is the row key in case of Jhs-generated shuttles).
    Steven Davelaar,
    JHeadstart Team.

    Any suggestions?Create a view on top of the synonym.
    Apex can work with the views. It does not work well with synonyms. But keep the synonym, since that makes your view indepentent of the name of the DB link.
    So the typical recommened structure would be:
    <pre>
    remote database table
    -> access via db link
    -> synonym on remote table
    -> View on Synonym
    -> Apex uses View (Wizards etc.)
    </pre>
    If using a non oracle DB you might come across problem with certain concepts like ROWIDs. Obviously cyou can't build a form depending on a rowid, when working with a non oracle database. It should work with a normal primary/unique key however.

  • Using workspaces with large tables

    Hello
    I've got a few large tables (6-10GB+) that will have around 500k new rows added on a daily basis as part of an overnight batch job. No rows are ever updated, only inserted or deleted and then re-inserted. I want to stop the process that adds the new rows from being an overnight batch to being a near real time process i.e. a queue will be populated with requests to rebuild the content of these tables for specific parent ids, and a process will consume those requests throughout the day rather than going through the whole list in one go.
    I need to provide views of the data asof a point in time i.e. what was the content of the tables at close of business yesterday, and for this I am considering using workspaces.
    I need to keep at least 10 days worth of data and I was planning to partition the table and drop one partition every day. If I use workspaces, I can see that oracle creates a view in place of the original table and creates a versioned table with the LT suffix - this is the table name returned by DBMSMW.GetPhysicalTableName. Would it be considered bad practice to drop partitions from this physical table as I would do with a non version enabled table? If so, what would be the best method for dropping off old data?
    Thanks in advance
    David

    I've just spotted the workspace manager forum, I'll post there. :-)

  • Connection with SQL Server using DBCO

    Hi,
    I want to connect to Misrosoft SQL Server using DBCO transaction. I have given the following fields.
    DB Connection = test
    DBMS = MSS
    User Name = user02
    password = test
    Conn. info = MSSQL_SERVER=tcp:10.100.50.36 MSSQL_DBNAME=New_Wisdom
    permanent selected
    Connection Limit = 5
    Optimum Conns = 2
    while executing through the statement as follows,
    EXEC SQL.
    CONNECT :'TEST'
    ENDEXEC.
    I am getting the dump ' An SQL error occurred when executing Native SQL.
    The error 900 occurred in the current database connection "DEFAULT".' Please suggest me what needs to be added or corrected.

    Hi Benito.
    I'm not very familiar with MSS but maybe the following will help a little bit.
    Depending on the version of your SAP system you can use the transaction DBACOCKPIT to add connections to non-SAP databases. There is an test connection button in that transaction, too. You will find some information about that transaction in some whitepapers here in the SDN. For example have a look at this one: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/1062428c-f1df-2910-b08f-c322feddcd10
    ADBC error 16 is just "something went wrong". Is your SAP system using MSS, too? If not you will need the matching DBSL for it on your SAP system.
    If you have set up an connection you can use program ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION to check if everything is ok. If I remember it correctly in case of errors it allows you to jump into the trace file. There you should find some usefull information.
    Perhaps asking in the Database&OS forum area (there is a MSS forum) might help, too.
    Best regards,
    Jan

  • Oracle 11.2 - Perform parallel DML on a non partitioned table with LOB column

    Hi,
    Since I wanted to demonstrate new Oracle 12c enhancements on SecureFiles, I tried to use PDML statements on a non partitioned table with LOB column, in both Oracle 11g and Oracle 12c releases. The Oracle 11.2 SecureFiles and Large Objects Developer's Guide of January 2013 clearly says:
    Parallel execution of the following DML operations on tables with LOB columns is supported. These operations run in parallel execution mode only when performed on a partitioned table. DML statements on non-partitioned tables with LOB columns continue to execute in serial execution mode.
    INSERT AS SELECT
    CREATE TABLE AS SELECT

    Multi-table INSERT
    So I created and populated a simple table with a BLOB column:
    SQL> CREATE TABLE T1 (A BLOB);
    Table created.
    Then, I tried to see the execution plan of a parallel DELETE:
    SQL> EXPLAIN PLAN FOR
      2  delete /*+parallel (t1,8) */ from t1;
    Explained.
    SQL> select * from table(dbms_xplan.display);
    PLAN_TABLE_OUTPUT

    And I finished by executing the statement.
    SQL> commit;
    Commit complete.
    SQL> alter session enable parallel dml;
    Session altered.
    SQL> delete /*+parallel (t1,8) */ from t1;
    2048 rows deleted.
    As we can see, the statement has been run as parallel:

    Is it normal ? It is not supposed to be supported on Oracle 11g with non-partitioned table containing LOB column....
    Thank you for your help.
    Michael

    Yes I did it. I tried with force parallel dml, and that is the results on my 12c DB, with the non partitionned and SecureFiles LOB column.
    SQL> explain plan for delete from t1;
    Explained.

    |   5 |      TABLE ACCESS FULL| T1       |     4 |     2   (0)| 00:00:01 |  Q1,00 | PCWP |            |
    The DELETE is not performed in Parallel.
    I tried with another statement :
    SQL> explain plan for
    2        insert into t1 select * from t1;
    Here are the results:

    It seems that the DELETE statement has problems but not the INSERT AS SELECT !

  • How do I use voicemail on Fido with a non Fido Iphone 4s? Fido won't help as it is my own phone and not a Fido phone

    I bought my iPhone 4S in an Apple Store and use my Fido sim card.  I used it with my old 3GS phone but now when I use it with my 4S phone I can't get my voice messages.  I contacted Fido but they will not help as it is a non Fido phone.  I'm paying $9 a month for voicemessaging but can't access it.  They won't give the information to set it up as it isn't their phone.  What can I do?

    Verizon does not unlock the iPhone 4S for use on U.S. GSM carriers, only for foreign roaming.

    I have a PowerBook G4 with a non-functioning monitor.  It used to work with an external monitor, but I reinstalled the OS, which cleared the display preferences and now when I restart it won't detect the external monitor. This means I can't use the computer anymore. How do I fix? I tried using the Command+F2 keyboard shortcut, but it doesnt' work.  It's possible that since I reinstalled the OS, it still needs to be set up, so there's only a welcome screen (but since I can't see it I'm not sure).

    There is no limit to the number of times you can re-install Office on the same computer.
    You can activate by telephone:

    No. There is no "USB Target Disk Mode".
    Just so we're clear, when you start your Mac mini in FireWire Target Disk Mode (TDM - holding T on startup), do you see a FireWire icon on the Mac mini's display? IIRC, it's not required that the Mac mini be connected to a display for TDM, but it would help diagnose whether or not the mini is actually starting in this mode.

  • How to use column with linkToItem in the Basic Table view style mode

    Hi
    I have already changed a normal column that I made to a column with linkToItem as follows.
    <viewfields>
    <FieldRef Name="MyColumn" linkToItem="TRUE">
    and it worked.
    But this column works only at the default view style mode in my case.
    Does anyone know how to use linkedToItem column in the Basic Table mode?
    hope someone help me.
    thanks

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use linkToItem in the Basic Table view style.
    Per my test, in the Default style view, we need to use linkToItem=”TRUE”. However, in Basic Table style view, we need to use LinkToItem=”TRUE” instead.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

    My IPad 2, IPhone 3GS ans iPod  no longer work with apple TV, I have 2 apple TV in my house and for he last 3 weeks the iPod was the only one we could use for appleTV now none of them works, the apple TV icon does not show up any more. Re-started everything.

    Ok thank you so much, for your timely response.
    RESPONSES:
    1)   When I set up my iMac, I did not transfer any data directly from my windows PC.  I simply used the same iTunes login and account.  I have access to all of the files via the "Purchased" section of the iTunes store.  If I click "Download Previous Purchases"  text, I can download ALL of the purchases I have ever made.
    2)   I have the Apple TV 2, so good news, question answered.  I thought maybe it was the Apple TV 1, but it is the Black model, so bam.  Good response for you.  Well the whole damned reply is an awesome response, just pointing out that one piece of awesome.  I stated that it was an Apple TV 2, and yet you were still good enough to figure I could be mistaken, and provide me with knowleedge just incase.
    QUESTIONS:
    3)   So can my iMac not stream the data directly from itunes, without download?  Apple TV can, but perhaps that is something among many things that maker it unique, and awesome.
    SERIOUSLY.... THANK YOU...
    I work in the computer support section for the Military.  The only problem is we use Windows , lol.  Well that and i've been gone for nearly 6 months on recover.  I go back next month though I hope.  But working in that field gives me the abilty to judge responses that run inside the same vein.  Your response was so awesome that I half thought I might have written it myself.
