Using Encore for mass duplication . . .

I'm in the process of finishing a DVD project whihc is intended for mass duplication. I've completed the authoring in Encore, and now only have to create a proper master which the duplication house can use. That is where I'm running into trouble, and was hoping someone here might have some advice.
The client is requiring CSS encryption. I knew I could not burn a standard DVD from encore and include the encryption flags, so I planned on taking the project to a local facility with a DLT. Unfortunately, I found that their DLT was hooked up to an older Mac, non-Intel, so I was unable to load up my Encore project on it. Their Intel Macs did not have SCSI cards to interface with the DLT.
While calling around to some other local facilities, I spoke with a gentleman who said he's been using Encore to do Blu-Ray for kiosks. He said that ABSOLUTELY, UNEQUIVOCALLY, Encore can not produce ANY kind of master - whether it be DLT, DDP, or anything - that can be used by a duplication house. I had a hard time believing him, but he seemed so sure...
I've been using Encore since v1.0, but this is the first project I've done which is going to be mass-produced. I've tried browsing and doing some research, but am still unclear. There seem to be a lot of opinions out there, and speaking to this guy made me doubt even more.
So here's what I need to know:
First, is there ANYONE on this forum who has successfully used Encore, either through DLT or in conjunction with GEAR, to create a master which was then sent to a house for mass duplication? I don't want to hear from people who THINK THEY KNOW - only people who have actually done this.
Second, I'd like to know if one, the other, or both methods work (DLT versus GEAR Pro).
Lastly, I'd like to know if anyone has successfully created a mass production master, using one or both of the above methods, which INCLUDED CSS ENCRYPTION.
Sorry if I sound exasperated, but I'm in a really tight spot with this and can't seem to find the right people to talk to....

Wow - it's been a long time since I thought about any of this. I'm trying to recall this information from deep storage in my memory . . .
Whether Encore CS4 can run on XP or Vista depends entirely on Adobe's specs for the software. Just check the system requirements on Adobe's site.
As for adding CSS, here's what worked for me:
1) Render out VIDEO_TS folders from Encore
2) Make sure you have an NTFS partition to accommodate the large filesize
3) Set up Gear to add CSS encryption to the image
4) Follow guidelines on Gear's site to generate the DDP
5) Transfer the DDP to your duplication house via disc or hard drive
The best source of info on this for me was the guy at the duplication house. He knew what his house needed, so he was in the best position to tell me what specs I needed to meet.

Now, bear in mind that some or all of this info may not apply to Blu-Ray. I just haven't worked with it enough to know. Your best bet is to ask the dupe house what encryption they need, and then search Gear's manuals and forums to make sure you can do that.

I have used DISKPART to restructure the two disks in question but the question remains about specific partitioning, if any, that might be needed on Disk 1, which is to house only System Images generated from Windows 8 Recovery.

Using DVDSP for Mass Replication for Retail/Rental

We're about to ramp up domestic distribution for our indie feature film, and the movie will be going into the standard rental and retail channels here in the US. We want to use DVDSP for authoring the DVD, with a couple subtitle tracks, a couple audio channels, some bonus features and the movie (with chapters).
While it sounds pretty straightforward, I've heard various complaints that DVDSP is not up to spec and could possibly have problems with some consumer DVD players.
So, I have a couple of questions:
1. Has anyone used DVDSP to author a rental/retail DVD? How did that go?
2. Are there any steps or precautions to take to make sure the DVD is compatible with all DVD players? 16x9 vs 4x3 menus, transitions, encoding, chapters, etc?

Yes, fine other than human error and once in awhile a freaky machine

If you can get something like dvdafteredit to do some cleaning up, it is not a bad thing. Definately test the heck out of it before replication and make sure you have someone run tests, either the plant or places like dvdverification.com (Trai) who will put things through the paces and run tests on the discs.
Encoding - take a look here for some general ideas (Note the DVD Bandwidth considerations in the faqs_3.php)

Make sure to set 16:9 tracks to 16:9 Letterbx, not any variation of Pan & Scan. Chapters should not present an issue, but make sure you do not put commands on them then forget you put them there.

Do i seriously need to install Premiere CS6 besides CC and CC(2014) just to use Encore for making a BlueRay Menu?

I just tried to make a Menu as usual and coulnd't find encore anymore. What kind of "creative" cloud does not support Authoring programs for DVD/blueRay anymore?
Anyway now i have premiere installed 3 times ( CC2014, CC, and CS6) which floods my SSD. What is not what i excepted from you guys.
Does anynoe have a better solution for this?

Is Encore strong enough for mass producing DVD's?

I am using encore for my authoring needs and have just completed two big projects, 1 on DVD5 and 1 on DVD9. Everything went on to DLT quite easily, although creating check-discs for the 9 was a nightmare and i had to burn a compressed five just to see if i was in working order.
However now it has gone to plant, i am starting to panic a wee bit. Other people i know use spruce and Scenarist, but few (if any) use encore. Don't get me wrong, i think it is a fine program, just suffering first night nerves.
Any answers??

EncoreDVD is perfectly good enough to produce commercial titles. We use it all the time, and despite the couple of niggles with DL (which I hasten to add is generally common to all applications, as the problems are all Layer Break related) I have no problems using it that I cannot either ignore completely or work through/around.
Stability? This is the stablest version yet - it gets better each release IMHO.
Cannot compare to Maestro, as I never owned that one.
Dual Layer - as long as you remebered to leave the 4-5% overhead, then you should be just fine.

Personally, I swear by GEAR Pro Mastering Edition - it might seem expensive at $400, but once you get used to what it can do for the money, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it.
DDP images from a written disc or a project to either DLT tapes or HDD is a killer feature for me. This means I can tell Encore to create a folder and bring this over to GPME. Then I can make a DDP image to HDD, and write the DDP image to a DVD-ROM disc - this allows the use of Copy Protection measures,
i without the hassle & expense of using DLT tapes
but with exactly the same checksums being done to verify an accurate write of the crucial data.
You can also take a DLT tape & write it back to HDD. An invaluable double-check if you need to be absolutely certain beyond any doubt at all that your master is correctly written.

RE_RHTRANS0 usage for mass language key changes

Hello,
Does anyone know if it is possible to use RE_RHTRANS0 for mass language key changes, i.e. to have it as a background job?
I tried to execute RHTRANS0 or RHTRANS0_NO_ALV in the background, but the translation record is not getting created. I think because report output requires an additional manual step to select a row and save. Is there a way to skip this step and automatically change language key for all records in the output?

Even the document without original attachment also throwing an error"document does not exist" actually i am using mix number range for document number i don't know whether it is because of using mix number range.

Encore for Windows: "additional files" not shown in Mac

Hi!
I'm developing the authoring of a DVD using Encore (legal) CS4 for Windows. In the DVD there will be additional files (some PDF) that are correctly burned to the DVD with Encore. The resulting DVD has two folders: "FIles" and "TS_VIDEO".
In Windows I can perfectly read the PDF files under the Files folder, but in Mac, this folder appears, but it's empty.In both systems the DVD part (menus and movies) works fine.
Any help would be very appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.
It sounds as though the Mac is not seeing the ROM Content on your disc. I wonder if the file naming convention (most often, the file extensions are not used on the Mac, but a "finder" file is used instead) is getting in the way. As I am a dyed-in-the-wool PC-user, I cannot tell you what the Mac-fix will be, but I will bet that Mac users, who do ROM content can.
It might well be that rather than use Encore for the full production, including the ROM Content, you will need to do the authoring in Encore, Burn to Folder, construct the folder with both Mac & PC content (maybe two different folders?), and then use a program like the great, free burning utility, ImgBurn, to burn the VIDEO_TS folder (and files), and then the ROM content.
This is just a guess, but I've had content on discs disappear if I have MacDrive (a PC utility for reading and using Mac content) running and insert a PC DVD/CD. I would guess that similar might happen with PC ROM Content and it's viewed on a Mac.
Good luck, and hope that a Mac user will chime in to tell us if I am correct, or totally wrong.

Now we want to delete all the data which is loaded usong these sessions.
Please can anyone know the procedure to do so.(May be using LSMW)

But we used the LSMW,It deleted the records in the exact fashion we need.
It was a nice experience.
Use T-code SE38 run the report RPUDELPN and pass the pernr entire data will delete. as it is a test client then go to NUMKR Feature reset it and upload the correct data again.
I think that would not have worked for us as it deletes all the employee records.
Might be dangerous too
If it is has standard fast entry screen then use pa70 for mass deletion
Apart from deletion,Also we need to delimit the previous record.

With iMessage, it is meant to show up on all your iOS devices and Mac. If you do not want them to go across all your devices, then you will need to turn off iMessage on your iPad and Mac Pro.

Using Adobe CC... How do I get Encore for DVD authoring?

Needing some help getting Premiere CS6/Encore through the CC subscription.
There used to be an option to download CS6 on Adobes website but with the new layout, it seems to be missing.
Can anyone help?

How can I use iCloud for storage without duplication problems?

I recently set up iCloud to use on my Mac and PC. With the exception of a single data file that I have stored in the cloud (as a working data file) that I use both on my Mac and PC....I want to use the rest of my 20 gigs of space on iCloud for storage/backup purposes only. However, I have very little experience with iCloud; and it doesn't seem entirely intuitive to use iCloud.
For example, if I store all of my music and pictures on iCloud, how do I stop Itunes and iphoto from duplicating the results of each music and picture file in those programs? I ask this question because I have seen iTunes act up way too many times (in other circumstances) when it creates duplicate music files.
Just to be clear, I want everything to remain on my local hard drive. I only want to use iCloud for storage/backup only. So, again, how do I stop iTunes and iPhoto from reading music and photo files once I successfully get them on iCloud? (I am thinking I have to hide the archived files once I get them in iCloud, but unsure about how I go about doing that). And here's my second question. To upload my personal music and picture files to iCloud, can I simply drag and drop them into the iCloud drive on my computer and assume they will be successfully uploaded?
My second question seems kind of basic too. But, once again, iCloud does not seem entirely intuitive to use for a beginner. For example, I recently purchased some music from the Itunes store. And while I have it downloaded on my harddrive (like I wanted it)......I don't see it on the iCloud drive (on my computer)....nor do I see it when I log into icloud.com on the web site. If you have a Mac signed into your account running iPhoto, you might want to check iPhoto>Preferences>iCloud to make sure Automatic Upload isn't checked. If it is checked, all new photos added to iPhoto are automatically added to your photo stream.
