Using expdp in database with database vault gives error-39165

Hi,
Please help me with the below mentioned scenario.
I have oracle database 10.2.0.2 and DATABASE VAULT installed on top
of it.
I am trying to export one table DM05 beleonging to DIP schema and
dump it as expdip.dmp. I issue the following command for this.
But it stops with the error mentioned below.
expdp dip/oracle directory expdp_dir tables="DIP".\"DM05\" dumpfile=expdip.dmp
ORA-39165: Schema DIP was not found.
ORA-39166: Object DM05 was not found.
ORA-31655: no data or metadata objects selected for job
Job "DIP"."SYS_EXPORT_TABLE_01" completed with 3 error(s) at 07:02:28
Thanks and Regards,
Dipesh

hi
Oracle Error : ORA-39166: Object string was not found.
Cause: If exporting or importing over the network, either the user specified an object name that was not found in the source database or else the user lacked the proper EXP_FULL_DATABASE or IMP_FULL_DATABASE role that would allow them to access the object another in another schema. For importing from files, the user specified an object name not found in the dump file set.
Action: Retry the operation using the correct object name.
Hope this helps

  • Startup command starts database but alter database open read only gives error

    Hi,
I'm having some strange behavior. I've 10.2.0.3 database on windows 2003.
The startup command starts database without any issues.
But if I try following it gives error.
    startup mount (successful no errors)
alter database open read only; gives error that file Mnnnnnn is missing.
Why this is happening and how to fix it?
    Thanks.

You really need to show us exactly what Oracle is telling you, using copy and paste, so we can have some clue.  You can hide details like instance and host names if they show up.
I'm wondering if you had some messed up offline datafile in a tablespace, where Oracle handles it with startup, but gets upset when you try to open read-only.  It's some bizarro sequence of events like: add a datafile to a tablespace, decide that was a mistake, alter it offline, then remove it from the OS without telling Oracle any more about it.  I've come back from vacation to find scenarios like this, it winds up being a time-bomb trying to recreate a standby later.  Or something like that, I could be unremembering some details.

  • Problem when creating Database with Database, OS and hardware Configuraiton

    Problem when creating Database:
There are two problems, which I faced during creation of database. When creating database with Oracle Database Assistant. One when creating pre tuned database from CD. And second when creating customized database giving options your self.
    Problem # 1:
When creating pre tuned database from CD. The process of creating Database is 90 % complete and is at step # 3 Initializing Database. It gives error ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel.
I searched following oracle help for this problem.
    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Cause: An unexpected end-of-file was processed on the communication channel. The problem could not be handled by the Net8, two-task software. This message could occur if the shadow two-task process associated with a Net8 connect has terminated abnormally, or if there is a physical failure of the interprocess communication vehicle, that is, the network or server machine went down.
Action: If this message occurs during a connection attempt, check the setup files for the appropriate Net8 driver and confirm Net8 software is correctly installed on the server. If the message occurs after a connection is well established, and the error is not due to a physical failure, check if a trace file was generated on the server at failure time. Existence of a trace file may suggest an Oracle internal error that requires the assistance of customer support.
    Conclusion:
What I conceive from this problem and the help available is that, I have to install NET8 again. But I am not sure about the solution, please tell me whether I am rite or not.
    Problem # 2:
When creating database with custom option. The process of creating Database is 2 % complete and is at step # 2 Creating Database Files. It gives error ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure.
I searched following oracle help for this problem.
    ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure
Cause: An error occurred during a data send.
Action: Not normally visible to the user. For further details, turn on tracing and re-execute the operation. If error persists, contact Worldwide Customer Support.
    Conclusion:
What I conceive from this problem and the help available is that, I have to install NET8 again. But I am not sure about the solution, please tell me whether I am rite or not.

  • Using cfform to interact with databases

hi there, I am just trying to get ito using the cfform tag,
and I thought it would be as easy to do insert into table ect using
server behaviours, but clearly not! could somebody point me the
right direction of some good tutorials please, to show me how to do
all the wonderful interaction with Databases that I have been able
to do with normal dreamweaver html forms...
    Many thanks

I have found that <cfform> is a bit of a pain. I prefer
    using the standard <form>
and writing the SQL myself. Much cleaner!
    <cfquery ...
    INSERT INTO t_someTable
    (column1, column2)
    VALUES
    '#trim(form.field1)#',
    '#trim(form.field2)#',
    </cfquery>

  • Error trying to create first database with Database Studio on MaxDB 7.7

After installing the Database Studio 7.7 and starting up, i tried to create a first (local) database following the procedure documented in the online manual:
Under the heading of "Servers" an entry "<Local>" was created.
Then  i used the right mouse button to "Create Database...".
    A popup window appears with:
    Database Server <Local>
    Database Name MAXDB
Login Information for Server (user/password) grayed out.
Then doing "Next >" generates the following error:
No installation available on server '<Local>'.
    Remark: installation went without problems.
    Any help is appreciated greatly.

    Hi Simon,
a silly question just to clarify the issue: Do you have a MaxDB Installation on your PC where Database Studio was installed?
What does the Event Log tell you about the issue?
    See Window->Show View->Event Log Viewer
    or if not listed there
    Window->Show View->Other ...->Database Studio->Event Log Viewer
Could you please have a look and tell me what it says? If you find a message that is related to your problem double click it and press the little Copy to clipboard icon in the upper right corner then you can paste the message in your reply.
    Cheers,
    Daniel

  • Discover Plus works with internal IP, Gives error with External IP

Oracle 9i Discoverer plus works with internal IP but when I try to access using the external IP it gives error while trying to load workbook wizard.
Error : Unable to Connect to Discoverer Application contact Administrator

    Hi Sree
Well a virtual host will certainly help working with a firewall its may mode of operation is to allow a different IP and / or DNS URL to work.
Are you sure the virtual host you added is the correct one as per what you want to do? I ask because you may have one in there for a different reason.
As I mentioned earlier though, whilst I am happy to contribute and try to help I am by no means an expert in doing what you are trying to do. I've always thought that changing a name like this would involve a re-install of the server which is something I believe you are trying to avoid. Personally I don't recall seeing a situation like yours work without re-installing which is why I encouraged you to speak with Support.
    Best wishes

  • How can I use SQL TOOLKIT concurrently with Database Connectivity ?

I have installed LabVIEW 6.1 with the Database Connectivity Toolkit and the SQL Compatibility Toolkit (e.g. _SQL folder). I am trying to make the transition from the SQL Toolkit VIs to the Database Connectivity toolkits, but for compatability with existing systems I would like to be able to run the two sets of VIs concurrently (but not in the same app).
When I read into 6.1 a connection VI that I wrote with LabVIEW 6.0 and the SQL toolkit the connection reference type gets changed from a number to type connection (see attachments) . Does compatbility mean that my SQL toolkit VIs are converted to a form compatible with the new ADO ?
Can I use the SQL Toolkit VIs or the Database connectivit
y VIs in the same installation of 6.1 ?
Can I have the SQL Toolkit VIs appear on the functions pallette and function as they did when only the SQL toolkit was installed ?

In response to your #2 below:
Actually it is possible to have the old SQL Toolkit and new Database
connectivity in the same installation of LabVIEW. I have only tried it on
6i, but don't see why it wouldn't work on 6.1. The trick is not to install
the SQL toolkit compatabitily VI's. The old SQL toolkit uses the Intersolve
dll through ODBC while the new Database connectivity uses ADO so it is
possible to use both methods not only in the same LabVIEW install, but it
the same running application. It has been a while since I originally did
this, so I am posting only to mention that it is possible and not exactly
how to do it. If anyone is interested in more details just respond.

  • Delete a record from a table in a Database with Database Connectivity

I can't find the function from the Database Connectivity library that allows me to delete a record from a table of the database. I tried to use DB Tools Free Object.vi function but this one deletes only the table created with a query.
    Thankyou

I have used the sql query as described above and it works fine with access DB and the DB toolkit, the free object vi only deallocated a recordset's references this will noty alter the database since the record is a copy of the databases information.  The SQL delete function is very versatile and you should be able to delete records with no problem.

  • SourceGear Vault with LabVIEW 2009 gives error

    Hi,
I try to evaluate SourceGear Vault for version control in LabVIEW 2009.
At their website they say that Vault is compatible with Microsoft SCC interface, but as soon as I select  "SourceGear Vault Classic Client" as provider in LabVIEW I get the error "Error -2924 occurred at prefPage_Source Control.vi".
Does anyone successfully use Vault with LabVIEW?
Any ideas of things I might need to do to get i to work?

The text of the error is "An error occurred while opening a source control project or accessing a file.
The specified path is invalid." Some providers are expecting certain values in parameter calls based on assumptions on how they will be used by various IDEs (mainly Visual Studio). It is possible that valid information passed by LabVIEW to SourceGear's provider does not match what they expect. This would require testing on both LabVIEW's and SourceGear's side to determine what is going on. It would probably be a good idea to start with SourceGear's support to see if they can identify what is invalid.

  • Query with SQL-SP gives error, if not used for few days

    Hi All,
I have observed that if we do not use some of queries (which usage SQL SPs) for few days, then it stops working.
But when we go in SQL and execute the SP, the query in SAP starts working, without making any change either in query or the SQL-SP.
Can anybody throw light on this ? I guess it has some connection with SQL-SP behaviour.
    Thanking you in advance ,

    Hi Gordon,
Please note the function of the SP is to bring selected data from tables, for example to bring Purchase details (I have copy pasted the SP at bottom of this message).
    These are not SP_notif...
These SPs are called from the SBO query.
Once we execute the SP in SQL, then it starts working with SBO also.
