Using Hashtag in blog or in a Rich text box

Out of box SharePoint provide hashtag functionality to Community site "Discussion List", from my understanding the way MS has done it, during page load ScriptForWebTaggingUI.js javascript loaded to the page which add the hastag capability to
the body field and when user type #[SomeText] into the body textbox then js call taxonomy webservice and resulting hasttag popup window appears. What I am trying to do enable same capability to a "Rich text Box", but I am not finding any way to do
this. Has anyone done something like this? Or Can someone provide some ideas? Also the thing, I could not figure out when user is typing #[SomeText], what js method is firing. Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

  • InfoPath 2013 - Rich Text box - Expand to show all text option not working

    I have create an InfoPath form and created a view which will be used for printing. I have a rich text box in this print view and the scroll option for this rich text box is set to "Expand to show all text". However, it is not working and it doesn't
    expand the size of the text box based on the content length.
    same thing used to work in InfoPath 2010.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Neelesh

    Hi Wendy,
    Here are the steps I have used:
    1. On default view added a rich text box.
    2. Created another view called Print and mapped it to the same Field which I added to default view
    3. Set the Wrap text and Expand to show all text on both the Rich Text Box Properties - in default view and in Print
    view. Also set the height of the rich text box to auto.
    4. Set the print views as the print view for default view
    5. Deployed the form to SharePoint Form Library
    6. Opened the form in browser
    7. Entered the content in the rich text box in default view. It expands well if I have much content
    8. Clicked on Print preview and that opens up the print preview and it shows the rich text box only one line in height and with scroll bar
    I missed to mention that it is a web browser enabled form and I am using InfoPath 2013 and SP 2013.
    It does work fine in InfoPath client.
    Thanks.

  • Rich text box used in Infopath Form not displaying option to get images from Computer

    Hello,
    We have used "Rich text box" in Infopath Form which is not displaying option to get images from Computer.
    Options available are : From Address, From SharePoint
    But if we Rich text box in list, then it works fine with "From Computer" option.
    can you please help me out to get this option.
    Thanks in advance.
    REgards,
    Jayashri

    Hi,
    From your description, there is no “From Computer” option to get images with rich text box in InfoPath form.
    Per my knowledge, by design there are “From Address” and “From SharePoint” options without “From Computer” option in rich text box in InfoPath form. As a workaround, you can develop a custom InfoPath Rich Text box to do it.
    About developing a custom InfoPath control, I suggest you create a new thread on the forum “Visual Studio Tools for Office”, more experts will assist you with InfoPath development.

  • Rich Text Box Issue - Expand to show all Text

    Hi everyone
    I'm having a pretty frustrating issue with the rich text box when viewing a line item (not when editing the item, but viewing the item)
    I want my rich text box to expand with the text, which I have changed in the options on InfoPath with the "Expand to show all text" scrolling option. However, in IE, the table row will expand, but the actual rich text box will not and I'll have
    a scroll bar there and you cant see all of the text at one time. If I look in Chrome, then it works the way I want and I can see all of the lines of text that were entered into the rich text box.
    The only solution for IE to work correctly is to change the Display settings to "Enable enhanced rich text content...". But the big issue with that is now you can no longer highlight the text (the highlight disappears right after highlighting it),
    and the users will need to copy text from the text box, so it renders the "enhanced" rich text box useless for us
    It's kind of a lose-lose situation that I'd love to find the solution for

    I guess a better solution would be how can you highlight text from an enhanced rich text box, because changing these to "rich text box" gets rid of font colors in the pre-existing data.
    The original problem was that they couldn't highlight text unless they went into edit mode

  • I use acrobat 9 pro and put in some text boxes to fix a drawing......

    For some reason when i print it is printing a huge triangle over the drawing which can't be seen in a preview.

    I was able to PDF ok from FM9 using Acrobat 6, ...
    What font name, format (TTF, PFB/PFM, OTF?) and vintage?
    Did you upgrade the fonts when upgrading the apps?
    Any chance you have multiple copies of the same typeface name installed? Historically, having both the TTF and PFM (Type 1) of the same name installed could have undesired results.
    ... but when I upgraded to Acrobat 9.2, I'm getting some missing text in the PDF. Some non-bold text is missing.
    What is "some text"? Some entire typefaces (all text thereof), or just some characters of a typeface, like, say, the ligatures in Helvetica.
    The number for Chapter 3 is missing in the TOC.
    What font is Frame looking for?
    Also, are you embedding the fonts during PDF creation?

  • Pasting from the clipboard using SharePoint 2010 rich text editor

    Currently we are using Microsoft SharePoint 2010. In the Rich Text Editor their is a Paste option in which a user can copy from say a Word document and paste it in their content place holder. Right now I recieve an error message when trying to use the paste button " Your browser is not configured to allow access to your computer’s clipboard. Use Control+X for Cut, Control+C for Copy, and Control+V for paste". I cannot use the paste button for whatever reason. I have tried to change my javascript file within FireFox and it still doesnt work. After working with Microsoft on the problem they informed me that it was FireFox causing the problem and suggested I contact you for information or possible fixes.

  • Why can't I compose in Rich Text?

    In Mail, I used to be able to compose in rich text, but at some point, the ability disappeared. I've gone to Preferences and made sure that "compose in rich text," is ON, but the button on the tool bar stays grayed out.
    I can get underline and strikethrough, but not double of either. I can get text or doc color. I can NOT get bold or italics, which I need. This problem started, I believe, after a recent upgrade.
    Another strange symptom, possibly related: When creating a listing in eBay using Safari, where you "describe your item", there should be a check box that allows you to select either Rich or Plain Text. It used to default to rich text and offer all kinds of formatting tools. That has disappeared and I am now able to edit that screen only in plain text. If I use Firefox, I get all the tools and all is well.
    Bottom line: I have lost Rich Text composing capability in Mail, plus I'm having a similar problem in Safari. In fact, right now, in Safari, trying to compose in this text box, the bold and italic and underline buttons are not working -- they just apply the symbols you see there. I'm using 10.4.11, everything updated.
    What is wrong?

    Fred: thanks for coming back. Your questions guided me to figuring it out. As I said, I had strikethru and underline. What I didn't have was bold and italic. Reason -- I had switched to a font that didn't have them.
    groan. sorry to waste your time with a dumb question. well, you didn't waste your time. You helped me. THANKS.
    Chris: What you said is true. The text you see bold, italic and underlined was created on this forum using the web page. It was not created in Mail. As a totally unrelated issue, eBay seems to have an issue with Safari. Again, briefly: When you describe an item for sale, you normally get a tool bar JUST LIKE YOU DO ON THIS SITE, except it's more extensive. I did an on-line chat with a Help person and he asked if I could use Internet Explorer. I told him I'd rather jump off the roof, but I would try Firefox, which I did, and the tool bar came back. This is an eBay/Safari issue... two points:
    I have used Safari before to list items on eBay and I'm sure I got the tool bar. This was about a year ago. Something is changed, and not for the better. This is not the only instance where Firefox has proved to work where Safari wouldn't, and it's a little disappointing as I am basically a mac kind of dude.
    I thought it extremely unlikely that it would have anything to do with the Mail font/format problem, but there was a curious parallel there... now I regret mentioning it. HHIS. (head hung in shame).

  • Caml query to retrive keyword from rich text field

    hi friends
    i am using below caml query to retrieve data from title field and Rich text field(Definition)
    <View>
    <Query>
    <Where>
    <And>
    <Or>
    <Eq>
    <FieldRef Name=\'Title\'/>
    <Value Type=\'Text\'>'+letter+'</Value>
    </Eq>
    <Contains>
    <FieldRef Name=\'Definition\' />
    <Value Type=\'Note\'>'+letter+'</Value>
    </Contains>
    </Or>
    <Neq>
    <FieldRef Name=\'status\' />
    <Value Type=\'Text\'>Not approved</Value>
    </Neq>
    </And>
    </Where>
    <OrderBy><FieldRef Name=\'Title\' /></OrderBy>
    </Query>
    </View>
    this query is working fine. But it is retrieving some extra fields also which doesn't have the queried string. and even it is retrieving keyword from image urls which are present in rich text field.
    Please help me to retrieve key word from plain text of rich text field.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to use caml query to retrive keyword from rich text field
    By design, when specifying a ViewFields clause, values for these fields are returned, together with a few system columns like ID, Created and Modified.
    If you query rich text field, it will return the field with HTML tags.
    To retrieve key word from plain text of rich text field, you need to use regular expression to remove the HTML tags.
    You can use the code below:
    using (SPSite site = new SPSite("http://sitename"))
    using (SPWeb spWeb = site.OpenWeb())
    SPList spList = spWeb.Lists.TryGetList("ListName");
    SPQuery qry = new SPQuery();
    if (spList != null)
    qry.Query =
    @" <Where>
    <Contains>
    <FieldRef Name='Rich_x0020_Text' />
    <Value Type='Note'>caml</Value>
    </Contains>
    </Where>";
    qry.ViewFields = @"<FieldRef Name='Title' /><FieldRef Name='Rich_x0020_Text' />";
    SPListItemCollection listItems = spList.GetItems(qry);
    foreach (SPListItem item in listItems)
    string src = item["Rich_x0020_Text"].ToString();
    Regex htmlReg = new Regex(@"<[^>]+>", RegexOptions.Compiled | RegexOptions.IgnoreCase);
    src = htmlReg.Replace(src, string.Empty);
    Console.WriteLine(src);
    Console.ReadKey();
    The result is as below:

  • Broken links because of the Rich Text Editor

    Hi.
    We are actually using the item type "text" to insert sorts of HTML code into our pages, specially when we need to create tables. Since we are using Internet Explorer we have enabled the rich text editor to use in item types text; it has a check box that allows the user to view the text in HTML format, so that is the way we build tables and also "href" links to other pages inside our site.
    The problem is this: when I write the path for the HREF links I don't specify the COMPLETE path (that is, without the server name and the portnumber), but when I open the item for edit, the Rich Text Editor seems to be including the server name and the port number in my href path, even when I didn't specify it when creating it.
    I need help with this, please. We are using this server for trial purposes, but what would happen when we move the entire site to another server? I guess Portal won't resolve the URLs, but we will have too many broken lists.
    Thank you all.

    hi guillermo,
    with the release of the 9.0.4.1 patchset we now support a new enhanced rich text editor that has very good table support as well as support for relative URLs.
    for detailed information please have a look at the following technote that we published recently on OTN:
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/OTN_CONTENT/MAINPAGE/PUBLISH_CONTMGMT/RICH_TEXT_EDITOR_TECH_NOTE.PDF
    this new rich text editor should adress your requirements.

    Hi hlolrich,
    According to the description, you want to remove the shapes which created after you print the presentaion.
    I suggest that you name the shape you added with some rule, then we can delete thease shapes via the name rule.
    And here is a sample that you delete the shapes which name contains the
    myShape words on the first slide for your reference:
    Sub deleteShapes()
    For Each aShape In Application.ActivePresentation.Slides(1).Shapes
    If InStr(aShape.Name, "myShape") Then
    aShape.Delete
    End If
    Next aShape
    End Sub

  • No content in rich text mails from MS Exchange with attachments

    After upgrading to Yosemite I cannot see any content in mails received from MS Exchange in rich text format when they have an attachment. In Mavericks I can see the content (text) of the mail and the attachments in form of a file called winmail.dat. But in Yosemite I only see the header and the content pane shows a loading animation. When I look in the Library folder I can see the mail in my inbox folder. It has multiple parts, one .partial.emlx and one or more with .emlxpart. When I boot my backed up Mavericks installation, everything is fine. So I think it's a problem with mail.
    Any help on this?
    Best regards,
    Carsten

    Hi,
    Thank you Linda Li. I saw the URL link you sent me on your reply
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/infopath-help/insert-a-rich-text-box-HP010080917.aspx
    Our SharePoint 2010 InfoPath 2010 form is working.
    Where i need help is the emails sent from SharePoint Designer WorkFlow Email function - The SharePoint site owners do not want to send by email PLAIN TEXT data from the InfoPath RTF they want to send by email Rich Text value look ups from the RTF.
    SEND E-MAIL IN A WORKFLOW
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-designer-help/send-e-mail-in-a-workflow-HA010239042.aspx
    everything works fine - except aligning the RTF with the other field look ups. our email has an HTML table where we have plain text fields, date fields, and RTF - I need with INLINE CSS STYLE code since remote CSS or any type of CSS does not work only INLINE
    CSS worsk on SP WorkFlow Emails
    EXAMPLE: you can create a Workflow Variable that has a simple HTML table, and when SP workflow sends the email the values in the cells do not line up, if the RFT values are blank from the InfoPath form the email table looks greate, as soon as you type any
    value in the InfoPath form RFT the email does not line up to the any of the other html cell text or other Look up values to the InfoPath form.
