Using Inline Query in BPEL

Hi All,
We have requirement to exect the bleow query by not using Custom SQL
select * from A a where a.x1 not in (select b.x1 from B b).
Is this possible using simple DBadapter by selecting "*perform an Operation on table*" by modifingt the Toplink in the jdeveloper.
any help in this highly appreciated.

You can use "perform an operation on table" and in the 8th Step replace the SQL statement by
select * from A a where a.x1 not in (select b.x1 from B b)

WS-Addressing is used for message correlation by default and is handled completely transparently by Oracle BPEL Server. If you want to see the WS-Addressing correlation information, you can use a TCP tunnel to see the SOAP messages exchanged with the services.

Copying Variables in BPEL using XPath Query

Hi,
I am new to BPEL and i want to know if it is possible to copy data from one variable to another using XPath Query in the <from> <to> tags, when the two variables are of different message types.
I am trying to create a sample BPEL that would receive a String through the receive tag tied to one partner link (WSDl) and then invoke a different webservice using the <invoke> tag tied to another partner link (WSDL) by passing the received variable.
I have pasted the BPEL File and the two WSDl files involved.
My Issue is that when I send a soap request to the BPEL, it is passed as null to the webservice invoked.
Probably because the copy tags don't work.
Please help.

Xpath query provides a lot many data type conversion functions(string to int, string to date etc), which can be used in copying variables.

I am suppose to execute a SQL select query (in BPEL Process flow) as mention below in JDeveloper using Database adapter.

Now my question is:
1. What does this "*" refer to in the query and how can I retrieve the value of LENGTH*WIDTH* HEIGHT from the query where LENGTH,WIDTH and HEIGHT are the individual field in the table.
2.What does this " AS" refer to? If " ITEM_CUBE " is the alies for the table name "ITEM" to retrieve the value, then query shoud be evaluated as

I am using DB adapter of Oracle JDeveloper in BPEL process flow, where I can able to select only one master table in DB adapter say SUPPLIER and its attributes at a time.But as per my requirment I need to select both the table (CUBE and SUPPLIER) in a single adapter to execute my query.
It can be achievable by using two DB adapter , One to execute the nested query and another to execute the main qyery considering value of nested query as a parameter.But I want to achieve it by using a single one.
Am I correct with my concept?
Please suggest how to get it ?

Using inline view with NOT IN clause

I have a query with a NOT IN clause in the where clause that I would like to convert to an inline view. The select looks something like this:
select uid, SYSDATE from tab1, tab2
where tab1.uid = tab2.uid
and ...
and tab1.uid not in (select uid from tab3 where....)
I've used inline queries elsewhere to great effect, but this one has me stumped. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

There can be problem with using not in or not exists depending on the amount of data in the tables and the relationship between them.
I didn't got if you had problem with the existing SQL-statement, created view or both.
Check statistics and look at explain plan for the sql-statement and the view.
The problem can actually be some where clause that you have in the sql-statement but not in the view, but apply later when using the view.

Is it possbile to write a complex query in BPEL DB Adapter using "Custom SQL Query"?
I would like to write an IF ELSE condition in the DB Adapter similar what is given below..

In a single pass no.
You could use a DB link to perform select and return result to BPEL process variable. Put a switch decision depending on result in variable that calls a DB Adapter to perform the insert.
Wouldn't be in a single transaction and not very elegant, but might be a way round.

Poor performance: portal report using inline views

I have created a portal report that uses inline views that performs terribly. It has 6 inline views. When I cut out half the views, the performance doubles. When I run the same query in sql + on my portal database with all the views, I get the results back instantly. Any ideas on what is causing the performance hit in portal? Any ideas on a remedy?

LOV inline query

Hello,
I'm using version 2.0 and I've to create a LOV query like the following:
select kev_name d, kev_nr r from TAB1 where kev_nr in
(select event from CRMUP where crm_user = v('USER'))
This query fails with the error message "LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query."
Could please anybody help me to transform the query above to a LOV-able inline query ?

I've the feeling, that there is a problem in regard of the last sentence of the error message "If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query."

2) Now I can use the same as an Inline Query:

Of the two,which is a better option to use.?
Is Inline a better option or a normal join?

I would rewrite the first one to:
Select t.id_entity,t.id_trade_ref,p.am_stock
from trade t,posting p
where t.id_trade_ref = '5V973781B'
and p.id_trade_ref = t.id_trade_ref
This way, you really make the join between the table.
I think the join is better because it uses less code. I do not think you will notice much performance win between one or the other, especially because it concerns only a few rows.

Without checking or googling I think that inline query is an embedded cte, e.g.
select columns ... from (another select goes here) T1
inner join (select statement goes here) T2 on ...
You can express the above with 2 cte instead. Using CTE improves readability of the query.

Presumably, you can be sure that any valid hex value is indeed MEANT to BE a hex value. For example the value 'ACE' is meant to be a hexadecimal value and not the word.

All the tables you create in Repository comes under A2i_CM_Tables in Database named as your repository name. So the tables names are fields of table A2i_CM_Tables. Now i tried it but cant make it.
Now, I dont think its possible to extract all fields in tables and there values using select query. May be pure sql guy can do that or not.
But there is no relation of data extraction and syndicator. Data is viewed in Data Manager. and you can also store data in a file from DM also.
