Using Javascript to Confirm A Transaction
I created a form for a user to update/delete the rows in a table, when the user click the "delete" button, I'd like to add a piece of
Javascript to confirm with the user whether he was sure to delete. It looks like this:
confirm("Are you sure you want to delete?");
I assume that when the dialog box pops up, if the user click "OK" then the delete transaction will proceed; if the user click "CANCEL" then the transaction will not proceed. But actually, no matter whether the user choose "OK" or "CANCEL",the delete transaction always proceeds. Could you tell me how to solve this problem?

The below javascript should be put in the begining of the HTML code before the <HTML> tag
function deleteForm(in_paramter_1) {

In the HTML code do the follwoing :
1. Insert the <FORM> tag before all the records are selected/displayed.
<FORM ACTION="package_name.procedure_name" METHOD="POST" NAME="form_name">
Note: package_name.procedure_name - is the procedure containing the delete script.
2. Insert the follwoing javascript call for the 'Delete' link/button :
<TR><TD WIDTH="100%" ALIGN="CENTER">
<A HREF="javascript:deleteForm(239,16548)">Delete</A></TD></TR>
Note : where in_paramter_1 value = 239
This parameter is used to pass the value of the record id pertaining to the record to be deleted.
3. Now close the form.

I was then asked to only display the confirmation message if a comment column was empty. The column is optional but it is preferred if something is added. I am using 4.1.1. Is this possible? Any ideas would be appreciated

How have you implemented the apex.confirm?

<li>If you have done it in dynamic action on button click then you have to make the dynamic action conditional by using Item/Column value is not null condition with expression as your comment item say P1_COMMENTS</li>

It was easier than I thought it would be to convert my Javascript Delete Confirmation message that I had developed for my JSP over to UIX:
By default UIX would generally do something along the lines of:

To pick at nits, you don't need to start "onClick" handlers with "javascript:". Save yourself a whopping
11 bytes by trimming that off. With a bit of slyness, you could boil this down to:

Runtime error in menu using javascript

Reason of your Dump is that the enhancement "LFDCB001" which you used contains one Function module exit "EXIT_SAPLFDCB_001" and another one screen exit in calling screen "SAPLFDCB" number 0150.
So when you activate your project these above mentioned both components were activated.
So when you execute transaction SAP looks for called screen "SAPLXM08" No-0400 but as you havn't created and program go for DUMP.
Solution - Just Create called screen "SAPLXM08" No-0400 and activate.

Actually the senario is when i click on a button, another jsp page should be displayed in a modal window without popup, but the functions alert() and confirm() will not accept the url path of the another jsp page... -
Using javascript to change the "Overall Result" cell in WAD

I am trying to use javascript to change the text of the "Overall Result" cell in my web template using BI 7.0. I am not familiar with javascript, but I this is what I have done so far.
I dragged the web item "Script" into my web template and I inserted the following code:

In the XHTML view I am using added the onload function to start the javascript every time the web template is loaded. The code works fine when the web template is first loaded and the cell text is changed to "Average". However, if I navigate in my web template, the javascript function is not triggered, and the cell is therefore changed back to "Overall Result". For example, this happens when I pick another selection from one of my dropdown boxes, such as changing the selection from year 2008 to year 2007.
I don't really know how to solve this problem in an easy way, and the current solution is not good enough. I hope one of you guys can suggest an easy way of fixing this:-)

MortenWoodstock apparently renders some Javascript/DOM with some homegrown widget framework which on its turn renders the HTML DOM tree instead of plain vanilla HTML. Correct me if I'm wrong, to confirm this, just view the generated HTML source of the page.
After some Googling I found out that you need getProps() and setProps() to get and set element attributes respectively.

I use this site a lot - not because I'm particularly keen on MS/IE but because at the bottom of each entry you get confirmation of whether or not the setting/attribute/etc is standard or not and the pages are kept up to date.
I have to say that this is only the second time I've come across someone trying to use this. The first time we just decided to leave it. I can see the importance of using it to stop someone overriding styling, but as I mentioned above, it is possible to create an entire script tag using javascript and, therefore, you can override it. Seems silly to me, but there you go!
It would also be better, in my view, if they had used a better word for this setting - something like java's "final" - as, the first time I saw it I took it to mean "make more bolder" or "highlight it" or somesuch thing.

How to get page number from the PDF using Javascript

We are having list of Single page PDF. The pdf are named in the order,
ISBN_Author_01.PDF (with real page number as i)
ISBN_Author_02.PDF (with real page number as ii)
ISBN_Author_03.PDF (with real page number as iii)
ISBN_Author_04.PDF (with real page number as 1)
ISBN_Author_05.PDF (with real page number as 2)
ISBN_Author_06.PDF (with real page number as 3)
ISBN_Author_nn.PDF (with real page number as 500)
Here each pdf has a page number and in sequential order.
The task is to check whether all the pdfs are in sequential order (i.e i, ii, iii, 1, 2, 3). If any page is missing, the script should throw an error report.
To do this task, I am writing a Javascript to get the real page number from the PDF.
Can anybody help me how to get the page number from the PDF using Javascript.

The number printed on each page is the page label.

You will have to open each PDF and your script would need to know the page label for that file. I would expect you would need to build a 2 dimensional array of the file names and the page label for the page within that array. -

inside foolter .. Now this means everything did get execute properly
But still the vallue of off_city is null or emtpy...
i check the filed and still its empty..
while mtest had those records..seems like some process is cleaining the values...but cant see such process...
a bit confused..here..I tried on Load after footer...
tried chaning the squence number of process ..but still it doesnt help
some how the session variables gets changed...and it is changed to empty

Using Javascript and ScriptUI to create a form that brings in a symbol from library
Hello everyone,
I've been trying to pull together the right info to use javascript to create a form to bring in particularsymbols from the symbol library based on the variables taken from the form. I've taken bits and pieces from various sample scripts and tried to make this work, but my problem appears when I try to use conditionals.
This is a limited version of what I want to do, but it is enough to get the point across.
1. I want to select a script that has various dropdown boxes. I would like the first dropdown to give me 3 options: 10, 13, 18
2. I would also like another drop down box that gives me three more options: single needle, double needle, and knife edge.
3. I would then like it to have an "ok" button and "Cancel" button.
4. From here when I click the ok button, a symbol is brought in from the library depending on what parameters were given to the form.
ex. If I selected 10 in the first drop down and double needle in the second, I would like "SYMBOL A" to be pulled from the library and centered on the artboard.
ex. If I selected 13 in the first drop down and double needle in the second, I would like "SYMBOL B" to be pulled from the library and centered on the artboard.
I've gotten the UI to pop up and it works as planned as well as bringing in a symbol, my problem comes when I try to incorporate conditionals and functions.

move that line into your function and add the text property to it...MyFillSelection = myDropdown.selection.text;
then do your if comparisons, that will do it.
