Using JHS 10.1.2 on Jdeveloper 10.1.3

Hi,
We have been using JHS 10.1.2 on Jdeveloper 10.1.2. Now we are upgrading from Jdeveloper 10.1.2 to 10.1.3. So when we tried to migrate the existing modules in Jdeveloper 10.1.3 by including all the JHS 10.1.2 libraries, all the modules which just has single tables, work fine. when there is a parent-child relationship exists, we experience problems.
Assume we have a table called APP_CATEGORY which has an id and a name and we have another child table APP_CATEGORY_NLS which has the id, nls_name and lang_id.
The functionality goes this way: when we click on the name of the app_category, we would show the details of the app_category and the child records with the matching id.
when we click on the link on the name column, we get a 500 Internal server error "Exception running method onSetCurrentRowWithKey"
Any pointers?
Here is the log message,
08/01/28 10:59:43.31 masteradmin: Exception running method onSetCurrentRowWithKey
08/01/28 10:59:43.93 masteradmin: Servlet error

Siva,
JHeadstart 10.1.2 is not certified with JDeveloper 10.1.3.
I recommend to upgrade to JHeadstart 10.1.3. See the release notes for more information on migrating your 10.1.2 app.

    Hi,
    There is no problem with download in above example. I have used Steve's example to upload, and solution delivered by Ric Smith on his blog to download files. I think there is something wrong with Steve's uploading solution. When I used Ric solution (he sent me by email complete JDeveloper project) to upload and download everyting works correct. I created last Friday SR on Metalink to review it and it's still in progress. My advice is:
    1) Look onto Ric Smith blog:
    http://thepeninsulasedge.com/blog/2006/08/17/reading-and-writing-blobdomains-to-and-from-an-adf-uploadfile/

  • Using JHS tables and hashing with salt algorithms for Weblogic security

    We are going to do our first enterprise ADF/JHeadstart application. For security part, we are going to do the following:
    1. We will use JHS tables as authentication for ADF security.
    2. We will use JAAS as authentication and Custom as authorization.
    2. We need to use JHeadStart security service screen in our application to manage users, roles and permission, instead of doing users/groups management within Weblogic.
    3. We will create new Weblogic SQL Authentication Provider.
    4. We will store salt with password in the database table.
    5. We will use Oracle MDS.
    There are some blogs online giving detail steps on how to create Weblogic SQL Authentication Provider and use JHS tables as authentication for ADF security. I am not sure about the implementation of hashing with salt algorithms, as ideally we'd like to use JHS security service screen in the application to manage users, roles and permission, not using Weblogic to do the users/groups management. We are going to try JMX client to interact with Weblogic API, looks like it is a flexiable approach. Does anybody have experience on working with JMX, SQL Authentication Provider and hashing with salt algorithms? Just want to make sure we are on the right track.
    Thanks,
    Sarah

    To be clear, we are planning on using a JMX client at the Entity level using custom JHS entitiy classes.

  • Using SOA with OBIEE -- Can i use ECLIPSE or do i need JDeveloper?

    Hello - I want to use SOA with OBIEE -- Can i use eclipse or do i need JDeveloper?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

    You can of course use either eclipse or Jdevelopper.
    What you need is to consume the web service file (WSDL). You can also use the package UTL_HTTP or any language you work with.
    For JDevelopper :
    http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/07/31/customizing-obi-ee-soap-api/
    For Eclipse :
    With Eclipse, you have to install WTP and then you can create the library.

    (sorry, not sure why this message is ignoring my formatting - makes it a bit hard to read)

    Sean,
    I just found out the same difference! Something must have gone wrong during the final production build. We have created a new build 10.1.3.1.26 with the correct jar file name, which can now be downloaded from cso.oracle.com.
    I apologize for the inconvenience. Anybody that already downloaded 10.1.3.1 build 25, please download build 26, which is the new "official" 10.1.3.1 build number.

  • How to use ComplexType in Web Services with Jdeveloper

    I've look an article which says:
    If the parameter is created as a JavaBean that implements the java.io.Serializable interface and exposes all of its properties using the accessor style of getX and setX, Oracle Application Server will handle the XML serialization and deserialization automatically.
    but when I use jdeveloper to create a web Service it only comes up with the warning:
    Method addCourse:the following parameter types do not have an XML Schema mapping and/or serializer specified:
    mypackage.CourseJavaBean
    my code is:
    package whut.mypackage;
    import java.io.Serializable;
    public class CourseJavaBean implements Serializable

    Hi Dugu,
    Can you give the link to the specific article and the version of JDeveloper you are using to help you further?
    One thing to keep in mind is that the accessors must be public - using package access (no modifier) is not going to work.
    Hope this helps,

  • Getting XML-32000: (Fatal Error) when using xml.jar of jaxb in jdeveloper 9

    Hi,
    I am trying to use jaxb in jdeveloper 9 to create java objects from an xsd. Any help would be really appreciated.
    I tested the below example with jdeveloper10 and it worked fine as jaxb was introduced in jdeveloper 10 by providing xml.jar.
    I need to use jdeveloper 9 in my project and jdeveloper 9 doesn't have xml.jar. I copied the xml.jar and xmlparserv2.jar from jdeveloper 10 to jdeveloper9. Created a build script to generate the java files for test.xsd.
    The build script works in jdeveloper 10 but gives the following error in jdeveloper 9:
    XML-32000: (Fatal Error) error in Building the Schema
    The test.s simple and is as follows :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>

    targetNamespace="http://www.example.org"

    <element name="exampleElement">
    <annotation>
    <documentation>A sample element</documentation>
    </annotation>
    </element>
    </schema>
    Below is the ant script to generate the jva files from the xsd:

    You can not simply swap arround jar files from jdev 10 to jdev 9. You then are also using an entirly different jdk and there probably are some dependencies on it. Will it work if you try to run ant from outside jdev and using a 1.5 jdk?

  • Using a local catalog outside of JDeveloper?

    Is it possible to establish a local catalog connection from outside of JDeveloper; that is as part of a deployed application?
    I have tried including the catalog XML files in my JAR file and specifying the relative path to the files in the BI configuration file (i.e., PersistenceType="FILE" RootFolder="bidefs/BIDesigner/"). However, it seems that whatever combination of file location and configuration setting that I try I receive a catalog root cannot be found error.
    Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so can you point me to an example?
    (Note: I realize that in an actual production application that it is much better to use the database catalog, however, currently I’m simply working on a proof of concept and may not be able to create the catalog schema on my target database instance.)

    Alright, I figured out the problem.
    We have WebLogic 8.1 as required web server. In order to create a Application Server connection inside JDeveloper, I copied weblogic.jar to jdev\lib\ext folder. After doing so, I successfully created AS connection, but started getting this NoSuchMethodError.
    Any hint on how to correctly use WebLogic while keep struts 1.1 work?

  • How to use schemas in MDS with the JDeveloper JAXB compiler ?

    Hello,
    I would like to use the JAXB2 compiler to generate a content model from an XSD in MDS. I don't find any way to do it because in order to select the source schema I only can browse my project and application directory but not the MDS. I configured JDeveloper such that to connect to MDS and I'm able to browse the MDS, to open artifacts. But I cannot extract/export/download them from MDS to the JDeveloper project such that to use the JAXB compiler against it. I tried the Add to project function once that the artifact is opned but nothing seems to happen. How could I do that ?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Nicolas

    hi Henrique Pinto!
    but you'll need to import all the wsdl's,,,
    this mean that i will have to request another wsdl which is general wsdl contained object and operation and soap action?
    or i can use only this wsdl and then need to do something in external definition with this wsdl?
    thanks & regards

    Hi Preston, I used the GW SOAP in C# to create an appointment: start date = 2010-11-07T00:30:00EST, end date = 2010-11-07T01:30:00EST. The duration is acturally 1 hour, but the appointment created on the GroupWise client shows 2 hours. Note: Nov 7, 2
