Using JNDI Context with HTTP Tunneling (Detecting Connection Problems)

Hi there,
We are using connection to WL 5.1.0,SP6 cluster to create JNDI Context. Everything works fine until tcp/ip timeouts occur.
After that ...
Is there a way to subscribe for connection events?
I don't want to use T3CLient for this, since WL advises not
to do that. The recommended method is to create a Context and
work with it.
Help.
For the curious here is one exception which we can not even
trap. Is this fixed in SP8?:

    I am trying to get an answer to whether or not I can successfuly use Time Machine with an external HDD connected to an airport extreme.  Some forums say yes, some say no.  I'm also curious about formatting the hard drive to work both on my wife's MacBook Pro and my PC.  Any help would definitely be appreciated.

    You may be going on a recollection, that I share, that at one time Apple stated this would be possible:
    In fact, Apple’s Time Machine Web page touted this very capability as recently as last Tuesday, as you can see from Google’s October 16 cache of the page
    Effortless meets wireless. With a hard disk connected to your AirPort Extreme Base Station, all the Macs in your house can use Time Machine to back up wirelessly. Simply select your AirPort Disk as the backup disk for each computer and the whole family can enjoy the benefits of Time Machine.
    But if you look at the current Time Machine page on Apple’s Web site, that text is nowhere to be found.
    That was a long time ago, it has never been officially implemented, and at present they specifically say it cannot be done.
    In summary, it may work, but probably won't, and even if it does it may not be reliable.

    is there a way to use time machine with a backup drive connected to my AirPort Extreme?

    Unfortunately, this is not officially supported by Apple......if you still have the 4th Gen AirPort Extreme that you list in your equipment profile.
    However, the new "tower" shaped version of the AirPort Extreme does now officially support Time Machine backups to a drive at the USB port of the device.

    Dear All,
    i am developing a client application that consume web service , by jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.
    i found a problem, in AIX, that the web service proxy generated by jdeveloper take long time
    to detect connection problem to the server (e.g. server is down, network down, invalid
    ip address or port supplied).
    in ms window, if the proxy can't reach the server, it throw exception within seconds.
    but in ibm AIX, it take about 4 minutes !!! the time is too long until the exception is thrown.
    could anybody help me?
    is there something i can set to greatly shorten the hanging time when connection

  • Slow connection to flash media server 2 (with HTTP Tunneling)

    Hello,
    I use a FMS2 for a big project which include Instant
    Messenger and
    streaming video.
    On my development platform. I have no problem. But in the
    final
    configuration, the connection to Flash Media Server takes a
    lot of
    time (about 2 or 3 minutes) and i can't find why.
    FMS2 was installed on Windows 2003 Server behind a proxy and
    a
    firewall which only let the hostport 80 oppened.
    The server does not run a web server (or anyother
    application) which
    use this hostport.
    The connection are established by HTTP Tunneling.
    Does someone already have the same problem?
    Thanks for your answers and sorry for my poor english level.
    Guillaume

    I forgot to mention:
    Flash Media server is running fine. I can log into the Admin
    application no probs.
    I created a folder called "test". Inside that folder I
    created another one called streams and inside that folder I created
    a folder called _definst_.
    I placed an flv file called: test.flv in to the _definst_
    folder.
    In Dreamweaver CS3 I inserted a Flash Video File:
    Chose Streaming as the option and for the RTMP path I put:
    rtmp://ipaddressofserver/test/_definst_/test.flv
    Called the stream....test.
    When i run the page it loads, but the page is blank.
    In the Flash Media Server, in the "View Applicationd" tab
    I get the record of test and underneath it in the same link
    it says test.flv with 1 client
    The Streams tab shows a random name and Netstream.
    This tells me its recognising the connection and link, but
    the movie is not on the page
    any help would be appreciated
    cheers

  • Calling BRM from UDF using JNDI lookup with @EJB annotation

    Hi Experts
    I am trying to implement a UDF to invoke my BRM Rules set via JNDI Lookup instead of a SOAP Channel lookup.
    I have had a look at the following links/docs:
    Calling BRM from UDF using Public API
    http://www.gleanster.com/system/resources/W1siZiIsIjIwMTIvMDgvMDcvMjAvNDcvNTAvNDMvVGhpbmdzX1lvdV9TaG91bGRfS25vd19hYm91dF9TQVBfTmV0V2VhdmVyX0JSTS5wZGYiXV0/Things%20You%20Should%20Know%20about%20SAP%20NetWeaver%20BRM.pdf
    For item 1 above, the example looks really good, but it doesnt explain how I get access to the following required imports from my UDF:
    import com.sap.brms.qrules.ejb.*;
    import com.sap.brms.qrules.engine.AbstractProject;
    import com.sap.brms.qrules.engine.RuleEngine;
    import com.sap.brms.qrules.engine.RulesetContext;
    import javax.ejb.EJB;
    The second document is really good as well, but I could not figure out how to get it to work from my UDF.
    So, can anyone help me to understand specifically what is required to get this to work?
    Is is possible to invoke the rule set from my UDF?
    How do I give my UDF access to all the required jars/imports?
    I have manage to create a new DC (Development Component) with a public part and this enables me to get my code to compile on my local PC but I am not able to activate it due to the server not having access to the same java packages as my local copy.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You resolve the dependency by importing the required jars with using the dependency tab for the mapping program.
    As stipulated before, I have managed to resolve the dependency issue but I have now getting the same error as in the forum: Calling BRM from UDF using Public API
    The specific error is:
    com.sap.engine.services.cross.PortableRemoteObjectContainer.narrow(PortableRemoteObjectContainer.java:238)
    Has anyome manage to get invoke a BRM Ruleset using JNDI?

  • Using jndi.properties with weblogic 6.1

    Apologies if this is a basic question - I am new to Weblogic.
    I have successfully got a test EJB working with Weblogic 6.1 using a properties object to set up my JNDI InitialContext.
    In the weblogic examples I've downloaded it says you can also use a jndi.properties file to do this. I have set up a jndi.properties file, which is in the classpath for my class calling the EJB. But when I do my jndi .lookup("ejbname") I get the error:
    javax.naming.CommunicationException: Can't find SerialContextProvider
    The weblogic documentation at:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61///rmi_iiop/API_rmi_iiop.html
    refers to using jndi.properties and says to look at:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs61/jndi/jndi.html
    But at this page there is no mention of the jndi.properties method.
    I'd be grateful for any suggestions - in particular whether it is possible to use this method of configuring the JNDI setup.
    I'm running wlserver6.1 on a Windows 2000 PC, using JDK 1.3.1
    My jndi.properties file looks as follows:
    java.naming.property.names=java.naming.factory.initial,java.naming.provider.url
    java.naming.factory.initial=weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory
    java.naming.provider.url=t3://localhost:7001

    It is not WebLogic-specific. See

  • Using External monitor with DVI kills wireless connectivity

    I recently purchased a BenQ G2400WD 24" 1920x1200 monitor, for use with my May 2007 GMA 950 2.0Ghz. Macbook.
    Upon receiving the monitor, I immediately plugged it in to my Macbook, using the Mini-DV to VGA adaptor I already had, for use with projectors. The monitor was good, but a bit blurry and not too sharp, due to the analog signal. So I ordered a Mini-DVI to DVI adaptor. When it arrived, the improved picture quality was immediately apparent.
    However, as time went on, I noticed my wireless connectivity was getting terrible. Extremely slow Safari page load times, and upon going to Terminal and pinging my router, I would often get response times of 21000 milliseconds, or worse! I did a lot of research, on router firmware, on wireless connectivity, etc., but to no prevail. Then, on a whim, while continually pinging my router, I removed the DVI adaptor from my monitor. The ping instantly dropped from tens of full seconds to just a stable 0.4 milliseconds! Using my VGA connection resulted in no worse wireless connectivity than without it, but upon plugging in DVI and stressing the connection a bit (i.e. downloading a large file), the connection went bonkers. The pings also immediately jump from 0.4 milliseconds to a range of 1-4 milliseconds, regardless of any "stressing".
    I have done numerous research, including searching both here and on other discussion forums. It appears this problem with DVI connection is fairly common, but with no resolution so far. Any help would be great!
    A few important notes:
    -Both ends of both my VGA cable and my DVI cable are shielded.
    -I have tried numerous channel changes of my router, to no prevail.
    -While using DVI, EVERYTHING works well except the wireless. So the monitor isn't too demanding for my computer.
    And I hope my thorough post didn't scare you away!

    I have this same issue with the dvi and wireless disconnect. I am using a samsung 214T. I am glad to know i am not the only one seeing this, because it is kind of one of those things that is hard to believe. Anyway, I am also curious what kind of routers people have who are experiencing this issue. I am using a wrt54GL with tomato firmware.
    Also, In addition to the disconnect, my picture quality on my monitor gradually degrades over time...starting with what looks like snow flecks. After waking from screen saver, sometimes it is full static. Turning off and turning back on the monitor clears the static away.
    I can use another samsung 19in monitor with dvi without any problems.

  • Time Capsule with (2) AirPort Express connection problem

    I have (1) Airport Time Capsule with (1) AirPort Express connected. I'm trying to connect another Airport Express but only get a yellow light on the 2nd Express. If I connect it with a ethernet cable I get a green light. How do I connect a 2nd Express?

    The 2nd Express needs to be about the same distance from the Time Capsule as the 1st Express....and....it cannot be closer to the 2nd Express than it is to the Time Capsule.
    The reason for this is that the Express will pick up the strongest signal and you want the Express to pick up the Time Capsule signal to be able to extend it.
    Then, start over as LaPastenague instructs on the 2nd Express and configure it again.

  • Connection between fmsedge and apache with http tunneling

    I configured my FMS for listening on port 80 and redirect non-FMS requests to apache on port 8080 in the same server machine.
    It works well, but I've noticed several tcp connections from fmsedge to apache in Established status (it is simple to see through "netstat -nap | grep 8080" command) that stay forever (until FMS stop or restart).
    With a sniffer capture I seen that sometime the fmsedge requests to apache a tcp connection but it (fmsedge) doesn't use this connection. Then the apache server send a syn,ack tcp request and always fmsedge send a dup ack tcp response. So, the connection is active but not used, then apache doesn't close it.
    The kind of requests for apache are http get to js or php files.
    I don't understand why fmsedge create these connections.
    Am I misteking some configuration? Or may be it is a bug of fmsedge? Anybody have the same problem? Anybody can help me?

    This is causing an issue for us: after a litle time, the server is blocked because too many connection are established. Any other new request to the service is not accepted and it is necessary to restart the server to resolve, but this action of course close all the active connection...

  • How to use sql request with Jdev and database connection

    Hello,
    I have a login page with simple username and password inputsecret text and a button validate! I would like, when the user click on the validate button, to check in the database that the user and password matches. I've done the "Method BIndind..." with the commandButton_action and the database connection works fine.
    How can I use an already existing procedure, say authenticate, wich is stored in the database to authenticate my user ?
    Do I have to create a jdbc connection in java even if I've done the connection with the "create new database connection" wizard ?
    String s1 = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@address:1521:ORCL";
    System.out.println( "Connecting with: " );
    System.out.println( s1 );
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver());
    this.conn = DriverManager.getConnection( s1,"user","pass");
    thanks for your help

    Creating a connection to the DB in JDeveloper doesn't mean that your application is now connected to the DB - so yes you do need to create a connection to the database using JDBC.
    One note - if you are trying to do a database user authentication the following is probably the better way to go about it:
