Using KFF to query accounting rules

Hi gurus,
We have a requirement to query some accounting rules based on code combination flex field values (which in turn should search by ccid).
I have a standard page which has a VO and it shows some 500+ records and literally there is no search functionality. Client wants a new search region with the ability to search with Accounting flex field values.
Users should be able to click on the flex field option and in the pop up window, they should be able to query a code combination and then that value should be used for query criteria when they click on a newly created 'Find' button. This submit action should append some query criteria to the existing standard VO and filter the records.
Can you give me some pointers on how to achieve this.
I am mainly looking for inputs on flex field.
I can able to create a separate region in mds and have added that as a personalization to the standard page and I can see the custom search region. Need to add KFF which is where I am stuck :)

According to your description, my understanding is that  you want to pass values to an InfoPath  data connection (your  Web Service) using XPathNavigator .
For your issue, you need to get the innerxml of your data connection.Here is the code you can refer to:

    Running Oracle Apps. 11.5.10.2. I have the query listed below which returns both header and live level data for service contracts. I am trying to add the Accounting Rule from the Pricing/Billing tab within service contracts, but I am not having luck finding a suitable join.     to map special characters you need to use an element called CDATA in your mapping
    a special character causes an error....as XI wont be able to read it (as it is not in a proper XML format)...so to parse this character through XI without causing an eror use the CDATA....just make a search on SDN and you will find the proper use of it....

  • Get cell value in Planning Data form and using it in a business rule

    Hi Everybody,
    if i set the data type of an Account Member as text, is there a way to get the value inserted by the user in a dataform, turning it as dimensional member and using it in a business rule?
    So, if the user insert the value "USA" in a cell, can i use any functions to tell essbase that "USA" is a dimensional member and then using it in a business rule, for example in a cross-dimension like Period1->FY12->USA?
    I tried to use the function @Member and it doesn't work, but i'm wondering if there is a way that can let me get the value inserted and use it just like a dimensional member. What are the ways that can let user input value that can be used in a business rule? I think one is by using SmartList, is there any other ways? Maybe using variables?? As an alternative i tried to use Prompt Variable but there are too many members on which the rule must run.
    Please help me, i wanna know if i can or not let the user input the member on which the rule must run...

    YesI could use SmartList even if i think it's very tough to handle. My experience on using SmartList in caclc script is not so good. I try to enter in details of my requirement:
    I have 500 account members.
    For each one, I have to calculate the monthly budget by sharing the amount among the months. The user wants to calculate it on the basis of the actual flow(over the months) of an unspecified account of the prior year. The unspecified account must be inserted in a data form.
    So, i could use a Smart List but it colud be of 500 elements and then i should make a rule with as many IF as how many are the accounts. Or im wrong? The only way to use smart list dynamically in a business rule is by referring its values in a IF condition. Or i'm wrong.
    I tried to use execution variable ma it seems don't work. In this case the user must pay attention to write the account correctly, otherwise as you say the rule doesn't work.
    The value in PD0A020 is "PD0A000" (that is a dimensional member). The value in PD0A000 is "hello". In PD0A040 the rule returns "PD0A000" and not "hello" as i would. The function @Member appears to be not able to catch the dimensional member by the value in PD0A000.

  • Need to Pass Active Directory Attributes into OBIEE for use in Report Query

    Hi,
    We're using OBIEE 11.1.1.5 and have integrated it with AD security. Users successfully log into OBIEE and BIP (which is integrated with OBIEE) using their network/AD accounts.
    Next step for us is to be able to pass some AD attributes that are on the user accounts into OBIEE and BIP so we can restrict data queries for the person logged in.
    I've searched the web and so far have only come up with specific steps for setting this up in BIP. Since BIP is integrated with OBIEE, we have not set any of the MSAD/LDAP security up there - it is all in OBIEE. I have been unable to find the equivalent for adding the attribute names for data query bind variables.
    With our current setup, we are unable to filter the report data automatically based on who has logged into the application (analytics and BIP). We have security setup within the catalog so only certain AD groups can access objects, but beyond that we need to be able to secure the data using AD attribute information. For example, all of our users should be able to access an Open Purchase Order report, but they should only be able to see their own purchase orders - not everyone in the company.
    Anyway, we're looking to be able to pass AD attributes into OBIEE so that we can use this data in our Analytics and BIP queries.
    How can we get this setup?

    Right, that's the way it should work.  But there are too many posts by users who have managed to lose their data.  At the very least, be sure the brother's account has backups to itunes and/or icloud.
    Also, isn't there some rule about switching accounts too often during a given period of time (or maybe I'm thinking of some other thing like the itunes account ID)?

    As a general rule, it's a good idea to separate the
    presentation (JSP and HTML) from the business rules
    (database access). I know you didn't do that on the
    AS/400, you had display files and business logic in
    the same program (at least, we certainly do in ours),
    but it's a good policy to follow in the web world.
    That means, don't put your database access code in
    the JSP. Other than that, it depends on the data.
    If you have simple data (e.g. customer's name and
    d address) then a Java bean would suffice. If you
    have complex data (e.g. customer's payment history)
    then a bean still might suffice. You would use an
    "include" if you had some data (static or dynamic)
    that you wanted to appear in several different pages
    in the same form.Thanks, I figured putting the code in the JSP was not the best way, but I wasn't sure about the other options.

    , i have added a condition for service (as delivery cost) a posting to a G/l account 64115 , it is usally used for service tax account previosly, now on posting the IV system shows ollowing message.
    G/ l account is not consistent

    this line item carreies F posting line identification .Master record of G/l account in company code must have 'balance in local currency indiactor 'if F identifier is set.
    Sir my query is that why this problem comes as this G/l account is used prevoisly in same company code.

    Please check if parallel currencies are activated for company code in OB22.
    If parallel currency is activated system would Post Exchange rate difference when you clear line items of GL account with open item management.
    You have to maintain exchange rate gain or loss in OBA1.

  • Upload facility for smart forms and expense account rules in oracle iprocurement R12.1.3

    Hi All, 
    We are implementing iprocurement for new operating unit.
    We have many expense account rules and approximately 450 smart forms to be setup for new OU. But as part of R12, the setups are to be done through HTML pages.
    Currently I do not see any option to upload these 2 items, as doing them manually will take lot of manual effort.
    Are there any APIs available to load these 2 items? OR any workaround like using dataloader or isetup?
    I am sure many clients are using R12 for very long time and not sure if there are any issues raised on this?
    Could you please let us know if there are any options avialble to upload them?

    Goal
    What steps are required for proper setup of a Vacation Rule for routing of Purchasing Notifications?
    Fix
    1.  Enter the Notification Summary or Worklist for a user
    2.  Select the "Vacation Rule" link
    3.  Select the "Create New Rule" link
    4.  For Item Type select "All" for all Notifications or select the desired Notification Type from List of Values
    5.  Select the "Next" link to proceed to the next setup page for the rule
    6.  Enter both a a valid Start and End Date for the new rule
    7.  Ensure the "Reassign" radio button is selected
    8.  Keep "All Employees and Users" in the menu box
    9.  Select the "Delegate" radio button - Assign/Reassign action is prohibited for Purchasing Notifications
    10.  Select the Flashlight icon next to the blank menu box for selecting a user
    11.  A new sub-screen should pop-up to perform the user search
    12.  For "Search By" select "Username" - (DO NOT search by Name)
    13.  Perform the needed wildcard (%) search at the top of the page to locate the desired username
    14.  Click the radio button next to the desired name of the user to have the notifications sent to
    15.  Press the "Select" button followed by the "Apply" button
    16.  Continue on with the saving of the Vacation Rule for latter use
    Note:
    The key to setting-up a valid Vacation Rule is to ensure the rule is tied to a Username rather then the Full Name of the desired user.  The reason for this is that the Worklist and Notification Summary for the user is linked to their username and not full name record.

    can somebody tell me how can i understand  ( by technical name ) if an infoobject is used in any query ...in every mode:
    as a basic infoobject
    or in a structure of query
    or to build a restrected keyfigure
    or to build a rcalculated keyfigure.
    table RSZELTDIR doasn't give this information.
    It refers only to  query, variable, structure or template,..not also to based infoobject ( infoobect without any delimitation )
    i can't use the technical name to do this search in RSZELTDIR.

    Yes, Raj is right just go to the Cube/infoobject and click on where used button will show u list of queries/query elements.
    or u can go to metadatarepository and look for that perticular object - click on it and it will give list of other objects, transfer rules, update rules, queries etc.... In short everything related to that object will be shown there.

  • Oracle APPS custom form using KFF is not working as expected

    Hi,
    I have created a custom form and using KFF to accept code combination in line block. My custom form is based on AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE and AP_INVOICE_LINES_INTERFACE.
    When I query the records in form and update the code combination field using keyboard (typing or copy-paste) it works fine at first time but when I re-enter another code then it does not accepts the new code and reverts to previous code. Form accepts the same code when KFF screen is using by pressing LOV button. I concluded this problem as "when record status is QUERY then KFF works fine with keyboard but when record status changes to CHANGED then it does not accepts the new code when entered using keyboard".
    I have created all triggers and invoked relevant fnd_flex.event in triggers. I have created PRE-QUERY, POST-QUERY, PRE-INSERT, PRE-UPDATE, WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM, WHEN-VALIDATE-RECORD, WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE, KEY-EDIT, KEY-LISTVAL at form level and calling FND_FLEX.EVEND and APPS_STANDARD.EVENT (where required) in triggers.
    This same issue is in AP Invoice Workbench form. When updateing code combination in distribution block in invoice form is showing same behaviour.
    I am running this form in 12.1.2, same form is working in other instance which is on 12.1.3.

    We have setup AA rules for invoicing where we have specified invoice rounding account. When we are generating invoices, those are having decimal places.
    We want total amount of invoice to be rounded to earlier / next interger. Let us know if system does it automatically. If it does not, then what is the use of invoice rounding account.

    Rounding amount is variance in SOB currency (primary currency) between the invoice amount calculated by Projects and the invoice amount calculated by Receivables. When you have an invoice in foreign currency then Projects convert the invoice amount to the project-functional currency usting Projects conversion rate. When that invoice is imported to AR, there could be cases were AR is using a different value for the exchange rate. In such case there would be a variance that get accounted using the rounding account.
