Using MS Word to edit email messages! Is this even possible?

I know this may sound a little weird, but I am a newer user of Macs and Mail. I was curious if there is a way to use my version of Word for Macs to edit my email messages. I liked using this feature with Outlook, but I have not figured out how to accomplish this with Mail.
I want more than just Mail underlining my word if I mispelled it. I want it to auto correct or something. I would like Mail to also automatically capitalize the first word in a sentence if I fail to or miss it. I don't even know how to get bullet points to appear within email messages. I miss this feature with Mail, can someone help?

Sure, just open up a new document from within MS Word and when you are ready, copy and paste the text into the body of an email message and send it. This takes about two seconds to do: Command-A to select all the text, then Command-C to copy, then Command-V to paste.
As far as I know, there is no option to set up a different editor in Apple's Mail.app program; however, that option might be available in Entourage which comes with Microsoft Office 2004 for the Mac.

Edit Email Messages in Mail.app

Does anyone know a way to edit an email message already received in mail.app? I found this to be a useful feature of Eudora and even Outlook, but it doesn't seem to be in Mail.app.

I would like to know if there is any way to edit a message that has been received in my mail.app program.
As for any legal issues, I find them to be not very compelling. Although it is true that courts now admit emails into evidence as if they were any other document, that does not suggest that they should not be modifiable. That courts admit such electronic documents into evidence certainly imposes no burden on me, the email receiver, to maintain the email's original format. Moreover, there is nothing improper about making programs or add-ons that facilitate the making of such changes in emails unless and until Congress decides to take up the issue and make it a crime to modify received emails.
Since that has not happened, and is unlikely to in the near future, I would still love it if someone could provide either instructions or some mail.app extension that allows one to edit received emails.

When using Mail, two of my email messages have "Virus Alert" in the header. Why?

Two times now the header on an email message to me in reply has said "Virus Alert". Does this mean I have a virus or coincidentally two people I sent emails to have a virus? I am using the Mail application.

IMHO and I tell you this a mac tech for 15 years in the corporate world is AV is more trouble than it's worth on the mac and safe browsing habits and education are a far better defense against mac issues. The two biggest threats for mac are 1) scams, and 2) adware.

I repeatedly searched for an Apple Mail forum and got no results. Very annoying. I wish Apple didn't mess up their help forums with this new design. Sorry if I'm posting this to the wrong place. My question:
How do I edit a message sent to me? I have a client message. However, I need to put the project number in the subject field.

Hi Eric, they did mess up the new forums, but searching anything at Apple has been for years, much like searching for Fish in the Sahara Desert.
These messages are stored in files with a .emlx extension, if you find the right one you can edit it in Text Edit or other better editors.

I recently bought a new iMac as well as a wireless time capsule and have it connected how can I use this external drive as the location to store all my files for iTunes, or is this even possible?

New iMac user here, I recently bought a new iMac and Time capsule and have the whole network up and running now. I have connected another external HD to the time capsule as well and have a total of 3 TB of storage connected wireless to my new iMac. My question is can I use this location as the default location for iTunes? I doubt I am gonna run out of room considering the iMac has 1 TB of storage already, but I'd prefer to keep my movies and music off the Mac to keep it running smoothly. If this is possibly, I'd like to do this with iPhoto as well.

I would advise against placing your iTunes library on a Time Capsule.
The Time Capsule is designed as a backup device and not for wireless streaming of video.
Before you do anything more, can I suggest you put into place a reliable, redundant backup strategy.
Unless you are prepared to risk loss of your iTunes library due to a hard drive failure, I would not put iTunes on the Time Capsule.
Leave your iTunes library on your iMac until such time as your internal drive is full. Backup to Time Capsule using Time Machine and create a clone of your internal iMac HD to your external drive.
That's my 2 cents worth. Others may have a different opinion.

The simple answer is "you can't".
Mail servers don't allow you to change messages.
What you can do is make a copy of the message and change the copy.
Of course, the copy won't be stored anywhere permanently so if you want
to keep it you'll need to store it in a folder yourself.
In your second question are you asking about the getSubject method?
Since that's such an obvious answer to your question I'm sure you would've
found that yourself so I'm assuming you're asking something else, but I don't
understand what.

I recently upgraded to Lion and my 2004 Microsoft Office no longer functions. So all of my word docs are unreadable with the Lion system. If I buy pages, will they be converted? Also, I used Microsoft Word for editing docs, making comments and tracking

I need help. All of my word docs from Microsoft word 2004 cannot be read in Lion. I can't believe I'll have to pay for a Word upgrade. Is it worth it? Is pages as good? Will all of my docs be recognized once I upgrade to the current word or Pages? I tried Open Office, but that doesn't synch all of the previous Word docs, it needs to be done one doc at a time.

Why cannot open messages as I use to, instead of receiving a message "Truncated - this message exceeded the maximessage size"

I use to be able to open my messages immediately, but now every message I try to open I receive the following message on my screen.
"TRUNCATED" This message exceeded the maximessage size..."
I'm not aware that I've altered any settings, but clearly something is not right. Please can you assist in correcting this (frustrating) fault?

Truncated Message: " This message exceeded the maximum message size in Account Settings, so we have only downloaded the first few lines from the mail server." I have not had trouble receiving large emails. Two days ago, a message with large pictures came in, I clicked on download and eventually the message came though. I tried setting the disk space in Account Settings to 1001 to avoid truncated messages. That didn't help. Today on the same screen, I unchecked "To save disk space, do not download:" The message came after clicking download the rest of the message. Is there a way to avoid truncated messages? Font changes when client is using IBE (in browser editing). Anyone had this issue and know how to fix it?

It's fine when I log into IBE but when the client does it the font changes, when they add words to the end of an existing sentence the font is fine, it's when they add a return and add a new line of text, this is when the font changes

My Yahoo email page suddenly became so small I cannot read it, and I cannot get it to go back to normal size. Why is this even possible and how do I fix it?

I higlighted a portion of an email I was forwarding so I could delete that part, and somehow during that process, the entire page reduced in size to the point that it's too small to read. I have no idea how I did it and I can't get it to return to normal size. Logging out and back in doesn't help, nor does shutting the computer down and restarting. My wife's email is normal size, and MY email is normal size when I use Internet Explorer, but not with Firefox.

The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?
