Roamingnome, thanks for your response. Although I have been a Bell (Canada) customer for my WiFi signal for years, the 5c and its necessary mobility plan, is very recent. Some years ago, Bell supplied its own ‘router’ for my computer, and claimed that it was possible to get their WiFi signal only with the router they supplied. When I recently received the 5c, I wondered if the plan it requires, which is within the much wider, overall Bell zone, could be used somehow to get my Air online - some sort of tethering? - that allows me to give up the Air WiFi service and router all together, but still get the Air connected. Here in Canada, Bell Mobility and other Bell services are very separate. Any suggestions appreciated.

You need to completely repartition the drive and install a suitable version of OS X that you own. What is the exact year and model of this MBA you have? Did it come with installer discs? If it's a 2010 or later model you can accomplish this using Internet Recover: About OS X Recovery.
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer.

Bought used macbook air and do not have previous users password. how do i change admin settings without that?

I have purchased a used Macbook Air and am trying to clear previous user account data from system. Previous user gave me his password but it does not work and he has no other ideas. If/can I reboot somehow and not loose the programs that he had installed?

You have to erase the drive and reinstall under your ID etc.
Previous user gave me his password but it does not work and he has no other ideas. If/can I reboot somehow and not loose the programs that he had installed?
Unless you bought those programs under your account they are not yours and you have no rights to use them, you will also be unable to upgrade or reinstall them.

Macbook Air and Cinema Display

I am looking to purchase a cinema display for the mac book air and am curious which size would be best to use? I'm going for biggest and per specifications the 23" looks like it would work but with possible resolution loss. I am trying to avoid the resolution loss but want the biggest size. Again, I am looking for the best cinema to go with the mac book air without major quality loss.

You only read the part of the video specs that's about the internal monitor. Only the internal monitor is limited to 1280x800. Further down there is a section that says
Extended desktop and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 1920 by 1200 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors
It will drive the 23" no problem. The only Apple monitor the MacBook Air can't drive at full res is the big 30".
Apple doesn't organize the video portion of the tech specs all that well, so whenever you check the tech specs page for an Apple product with external video, be sure to locate both the internal and external display specs.

I have a Thunderbolt iMac 27" with a Thunderbolt Display attached. I would like to use the iMac and Thunderbolt display in Target Display Mode for my new Thunderbolt MacBook Pro. So far, it seems I can only use the iMac screen itself. How do I do this?

When I press the Command + F2, the iMac screen becomes a secondary for the MacBook Pro, and the Thunderbolt Display becomes the primary screen for the iMac. I was hoping that both screens would become secondaries for the MacBook Pro. Does anyone know how I should proceed? I have tried to connect the Thunderbolt display directly to the MacBook Pro, and the iMac to the Thunderbolt Display via the separate Thunderbolt cable, but there was no difference. And since the MacBook Pro only has the one Thunderbolt port, I'm not sure how to proceed.

Yes, eww, the language definitely states two thunderbolt displays, but I can understand the confusion and was siding with how they could make the mistake to think it would work like they want it to. My appologies for not being clear on that point, but I think you make it clear that the language in the ad says nothing about an imac.

DVI KVM switch to use with iMac and Cinema Display

I currently have a 20" iMac that I use with a 20" Cinema Display. I'd like to share the Cinema display between the iMac and a Dell computer. Assuming this can be done, are there any recommendations for a DVI-KVM switch? Most important is no loss in video quality when the Cinema display is used with the iMac. The Dell is seldom used and even a straight DVI switch without mouse and keyboard sharing would be OK.

Since we use APEX 4 and another Theme - Button with URL - javascript fails

we are currently updating an application in our APEX 4 environment which was developed in APEX 3.
On one page (popup) there is a button which is used to close the popup and another one to print the page. The buttons use the option "URL" and the url is "javascript:this.close();" / "javascript:this.print();". In APEX 3 everything worked fine, in APEX 4 / with the Theme Simple Red (i don't know what exactly the problem is) the buttons don't response. Simply nothing happens. When i try to forward to a page and not an url everything works but that's not what i want because i want to execute javascript!

Thank you for your quick response. I have to admit that I was too fast to ask question, and as soon as I did read your notes (1.) and (2.) I found out that for some reasons I did not consider manually editing pairs of Items/Values in the Optional URL Redirect. Simply I was fooled by clicking side Lamp icon and opening popup with ten possible pairs items/values that ten rows would be the limit of number of pairs to enter.
But you answered my question and thank you again.
As you made comment (3.) about number of item/value pairs and where they come form I would be interested to hear your thoughts and suggestion.
I need that many name/values since we were required to: if user is on Page 4, he clicks checkbox on this page, then set of values from Page 2 should fill items on current page (Page 4). The question: Is this the best way to transfer these values?
Interesting note: When user is on Page 2 (Form page) he cannot submit this page until he has all mandatory data. He might or not enter some mandatory data, but not all. (User has to go to Page 3 and then to Page 4 to generate needed data.) User, then can redirect with button to Page 3 (Tabular Report) and then to Page 4 (Form ) where by filling and submitting the page generates the mandatory data for Page 2, that are returned by Ajax when we return to Page 2.
If you have any ideas I would appreciate to hear them.

Sync workflow between MacBook Air and another Mac

I'm curious how people with two Macs keep their MacBook Air and other Mac in sync with each other. For example, how do you keep Address Book, iCal, and the word processing documents in sync so that you don't end up with multiple versions across two computers or the wrong data.

I don't know if the way I do it is the most efficient way, as I posted a similar question here once and didn't get replies. For regular files / documents, I put my MBA on the desk next to MBPro and enable "file sharing" on both computers, then with the Air I click on the shared computer name listed in the Finder, in my case lt lists Mac Book Pro and then all the files from the Pro ore shown on my Air and I can just drag and drop onto my Air desktop. Once I click out of the shared computer, I then drag that file to wherever I want it.
As far as ICal and contacts, the way I have been doing it is to keep my IPod Touch and the MBPro syncd together with all the iTunes junk and also my calendars and contacts and then at the end of the day I sync those two and then plug the Touch into the Air and it also keeps it updated on calendars and contacts. I would like to learn an easier more direct way but I don't want to buy 3rd party software of mess with .Mac

Font is shown very small when using IE Tab and Windows Display is selected to show larger fonts

I'm on Windows 7 - 64 bit and I set my Windows display to show larger fonts (from Control Panel, Display, then choose Larger Fonts). Now all pages show bigger fonts, except when I use IE Tab.
I use IE Tab so that I can open my Microsoft Dynamics CRM website on Firefox; however the fonts look way too small; it is even smaller than when the Display Setting was set to use normal size fonts.
Tried to change to use smaller resolution, it didn't work. Zooming-in is very slow on Firefox, so it is not an option for working on the webpage. Tried changing the default fonts on Firefox, however the page is still always opened with the very small fonts.
From Firefox I also unchecked the "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" (from Tools, Options, Content, Advanced), but it still doesn't fix it.
Played around with my Firefox IE Tab setting, but no luck.
I downgraded my Firefox to version 3.5.9 to use the older IE tab, but still not fixed yet.
Is there a solution for this? Thanks in advanced for your help,

I use AHM000 inside AHM001. I use this approach to build many template based on one basic design.
Actually, I don't think the problem is in page template usage because as I submitted paralel to Metalink, I've already not called template0 in template1 but I copy template0's contents to template1.
Unfortunately, page designer show small view and below error messages still occured.

Using one locale and another language

I recently installed Arch on my laptop, and I'd prefer to use English for messages and menus and everything like that, while having sorting, decimals etc (everything else controlled by the locale, really) according to the Swedish locale. I tried setting LOCALE=sv_SE.utf8 and LANG=en_US.utf8 in /etc/rc.conf, but that still gives LANG="sv_SE.utf8" in any given environment. Is there a simple way to set this up? I come from gentoo which has /etc/env.d/02locale where you can set each locale varibale individually, which is handy for someone like me.

I have my LOCALE=en_US.utf8 in /etc/rc.conf and the following in /etc/profile:

Using a keyboard and cinema display with the lid closed on the laptop...

I have connected my MacBook Pro to my Apple cinema display, but what do I need to do in order to be able to close the lid on the laptop, but still work with the computer. Also, do I need a docking station?

I think the Trick is to connect your Laptop to the Cinema Display. Then connect a keyboard to your ACD, then set your Laptop to go to sleep by closing it - next wake the laptop by using the Keyboard attached to the ACD.
