Using paragraph format for long text...

Hello,
When I try to print the long text using include then
it starts printing from the very first line.
But I want to use some paragraph format for it. How can I use it because I am using
/: INCLUDE '200007200000100' OBJECT AUFK ID KOPF
So where do I mention the paragraph format in the tag column becaue I am already using /: controll command in font of the include ?

It looks like the PARAGRAPH P2 statement can do that declaration, on the subsequent line.

Hello,
In the CRM system there are standard views that display long texts connected to the objects. They are stored in the standard tables and not in the ztables. I just want to enable formatting for this text, to store it formatted in the system and next time the user opens the object to show him the formatted text.

Use two different paragraph formats for one element

Hi,
I think this is really simple, but I don't get it.
I have an element with the name "Step" and I have two paragraph formats for this element. Both for numbering. I use one of these formats to set the numbering back to one, so I can start with number 1 anywhere I want, so I think there is noch real context rule for this case. How do I declare this in my EDD? Is it possible to say my EDD that it is possible to use both.

In most cases I have seen context rules using the sibling indicator { first } to handle the start of numbering.
If you want to be able to control restarting of the numbering anywhere, you can add an attribute to the element, like restart = yes | no with "no" being the default value. Then your context rule would use an attribute indicator similar to
If [restart = "yes"]
use PgfFmt1

use PgfFmt2

Problem in formatting of long text -- line break not recognized.

We have a PO smartform in our SRM system and we are facing problem with formatting of long text on the smartform for long texts maintained for the PO.
for ex, we maintain the long text as --
"this is long text for item 1.
1. this is line 1.
2. this is line 2."
On the smartform it is displayed as --
this is long text for item 1. 1. this is line 1. 2. this is line 2.
So basically, the line breaks in the text are not considered in the smartform .
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue ??

Which Std. FM are you using to fetch the PO texts? If the PO doesn't exist in your system, i'm afraid you cannot use Include Texts as mentioned by Harsh.
As an alternative you'll have to create a table & pass the text lines to it! I don't think SmartForms are not smart enough to identify new-line character.

Change Pointer /Change documents for long text

Hi,
I wanted to know if we need to do some settings for activating change documents for long text.Presently in WAK2 (retail) when ever i change long text i cant see any change documents for it(though for rest feilds i can see that).When i looked at oss i saw some notes like 849348(around other transactions) which says that change documents are possible for long text. I wanted to know what steps we need to follow to activate it for this transaction.

I have a 20 columns which we need to display in ALV grid, including one column for long text. In long text column currently it showing 40 character. I tried to change output length of field catalog but it's not working.

Text Area for long text not appearing properly for BBP_POC_DISPLAY Service

Hi,
In our development we have added additional Icon at ITS in Process PO transaction and onclicking that icon Web dynpro AB screen called with the Purchase Order No of selected row .(SRM 5.0)
There is one more icon in Web dynpro screen on click of that Purchase order service open in ITS with display mode .This is achieved with service BBP_POC_DISPLAY from Web Dynpro-AB.
This is also working ok only the issue is in Document tab of PO The Text Area for long text appear at Top .This functionality is working fine with BBP_POC service from ITS .
Has anybody faced this kind of issue ?

I am unsure of the additional component you are talking about. In general, issues with text area misplacing, is solved by note 1067625. May be you can check it.

Yes you can. OS X version 10.6.6 and later can read/write exFAT. Windows XP SP3 and later can read/write exFAT. As posted by Radiation Mac, you can do it from Windows or from OS X.
However, I've noticed Windows to be somewhat picky about drives formatted on a Mac. So, if Windows can't read it, try formatting it on the Windows machine, and see how it works on the Mac.

Using variables in message long text ( SE91)

Does anyone know how we insert the variables passed in the message can also be used to be printed in the long text as well.
Suppose , say

where a ,b , c and d are the variables...
How do i use these inside the long text.

message e000 with 'text' '&variable&'.
To create a message long text in SE91:
Select to switch to change mode.
Place the cursor on the corresponding message.
Click the Long text pushbutton.
This starts the SAPscript editor.
Enter the long text.
Carry out a check in SAPscript editor.
Save your data.
eg: create a msg like this.
Please enter another value. The value may be &.
then in pgm do this.
MESSAGE i014(msg_class_name) WITH variable_value.

I have been reading Publishing Fundamentals and it says you can create a paragraph format that uses the Frame Above Pgf & Below Pgf and Graphics Frames to create a Paragraph Style for Notes, Tips, Warnings, etc. that includes lines above and below and a graphic to the side.
I am attaching a FrameMaker file that shows what I have been able to accomplish and also shows what I really want. To look at this file, save it and rename, dropping ".text" from the file name.
I am using FrameMaker Version 8.0p277 (the Technical Communications Suite version). My colleagues all have FrameMaker 8 (not the Tech Comm Suite version) and I need to share my template with them.
I appreciate any and all suggestions,

Search Google for "siliconprairie autotext" (without quotes) for an inexpensive tool, and "reficons" (without quotes) for a free tool. They both are useful for this kind of thing.

Use SQL to get long text

1. Only the way to Read long text is use the function module READ_TEXT for which u need to pass TEXTOBJECT, TEXTID, TEXTLANGUAGE AND ONEMORE(I FORGET).
Because the STXL and STXH these tables are cluster tables in which data stored in LRAW field which is in RAW format which u can not understand and our normal SQL can also.
2. so u can read most of cluster tables by Function modules only.
3. u can modify or saved by save_text

Mass Formatting for Repetative Text Items

Recently I was working on an InDesign document that had a Atlas section higlighting each state on a seperate page. Each page had the same headers and this was repeated throughout the document. So in the case of this particular document the 8 headers on each page were repeated 50 times throughout the document. As I was applying styles to each of these headers I thought to myself, man it would be nice if you could define a set of conditions to InDesign character styles. Kind of like setting an email app to auto-sort certain messages if they contain a phrase or word."
For example you could create a condition that says:
If text after hard return reads "Quality Improvement Process" apply style "Subhead Style 2"
If you wanted "Subhead Style 2" to be applied to several different paragraph headers you could simply add a new condition. Then it would be just a matter of going through the document to make sure that condition didn't get accidentally applied where it shouldn't have. What is a 3 to 4 hour formatting job could become a half hour process.
Thoughts anyone?

Actually, I may have misinterpreted the question.
First, if the same information is repeated in the same place on many pages, it belongs on the master page. Type once - appears many, andy you only need to edit one place. Variables are valuable for making running heads on a master page as you use the variable tag, and it can pick up the correct text from the page.
If you need to style this text in order to work with variables (or for any other reason) you can use find/change to do it. Search for the text in question, replace it with itself, and in the change formatting options apply the style.

Remove symbol # for long text in document line item

Dear Experts,
I enter some information in the long text field in document line item. For the area that I use "Tab" button, system will display as # symbol. Therefore when we print the information, the output will include the #### symbol which is not correct.

TAB in paragraph format for Script

i am doubt with the tabs for paragraph format in the script. how actually it work? i try to make change on the tab, but some time even i put a larger value, the space in the output will become smaller, can anyone explain to me how the tab actually work?

so after the "HARLO, it will have 20 CH of spacing, follow by "MY", 30 spacing, and 'MY" 15 spacing, end with "!"?
it this the way it works?
or it works in accumulate way, which include the text display as well?
i found in the forum, say that, it will fix the length of a field( if i display a field), even there is no any value in that field. so how does it work on this?

Table for Long Texts of MICs in Tasklist

Can any body tell me from which SAP table i can get the LONG TEXT maintained for MICs in any tasklist.
Table PLMK only shows wether long text maintained or not, but i want the value in LONG TEXT.

This may be helpful.
SAP stores comments (text fields) in a separate table. STXH is the text
"header" table (STXD SAPscript text file header). STXH-TDOBJECT =
'KNA1' will bring back all the customer comment headers. STXH-
TDNAME='0000010744' is the header record for the comment for customer
10744.
It is not always so simple to figure out what the TDOBJECT (object needed by function below - sometimes it is a table name, other times...), TDNAME (name needed by function below - sometimes it is a document number & line item or customer number, other times... ) & TDID (id needed by function below - it is always the long text id). There are several methods that can be used. You can create the long text that you are researching and using, SE16 for table STXH search TDLUSER = to your kerberos principal and TDLDATE = to today's date. This is modify date & user. Alternatively, you can find an existing item with the long text and figure out the date and user who last modified it and use this information in your search. Once you have STXH row for text of interest, use ZCAFTXT to test your research. Project Titles and WBS Titles are a bit more complex.
