Using Photoshop's Photomerge method for image stitching in Labview

Hello there,
I want to automatically stitch 10 overlaping images in a row (1D image stitching) within Lab View. For that purpose, I want to use Photoshop's image stitching algorithm "Photomerge".
So, I have made a VI (attachment: "OpenPhotomergeFunction") but it gives error 3005. In order to remove the error I have installed Photoshop's TypeLibrary.tbl and still I am receiving the same error i.e. error 3005. Just as a matter of fact I am using Photoshop CS6 trial version.
I need you guys to help me to fix my VI.
Full error description is also provided in the attachment ("Photomerging_via_LabView_Problem")
Thanks in advance,
Zoran

One thing you can try doing is not using an Automation Refnum, but instead configuring the Automation Open VI. To do that, right click on the Automation Open VI and go to Select ActiveX Class. From there, you can browse for the correct ActiveX class. If there was something wrong with your Automation Refnum that you passed to the Automation Open VI, this might fix it.

  • Why is using Photoshop CS6 as the touchup image editor for Acrobat still a complete failure?

    Image objects in pdfs are losing their positional and other parameters when saved after editing with Photoshop CS6(ONLY).  The problem was acknowledged on the Photoshop forum three months ago, but they said it was up to the Acrobat folks to fix it.  When using most previous versions of Photoshop (CS2-CS5 all tested) as the touchup image editor, Acrobat was able to place the image right back into it's previous position in the pdf and it could  do this without releasing whatever path was used to crop or mask the image (basically it worked great).  However, using Photoshop CS6 as the touchup image editor is still a complete failure.  Any idea when or if this will be fixed?
    Thanks

  • Can I use Photoshop which I purchased for my desktop on my laptop since desktop recently crashed?

    Hello.  I have PS CS3 on my iMac which just crashed.  The computer is old and I am deciding whether to fix it or replace it.  In the meantime, I need to use Photoshop.  Luckily, I have backed up PS and Lightroom to my external hard drive.  My registration is for 1 computer only, but because that computer is not working, is it possible to use my backed up PS and Lightroom on my laptop in the interim?  And what about when I get a new desktop?  Thank you.

    You can install on up to 2 machines at any one time. Even if you have a Mac and Windows, that's the great advantage of CC!

  • How to use icon instead of bitmap for image on button in toolbar?

    Hello,
    I am trying to use an image that has a transparent background on one of the buttons on our custom toolbar in Adobe Acrobat.
    In the past we have been using the following code with Bitmaps to display the image and it has worked perfectly:
    ======================================================================
    AVIcon icon = LoadBitmap(gHINSTANCE, MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDB_OPTIONS_LARGE));
    toolButton = AVToolButtonNew(ASAtomFromString("IMGR:Options"), icon, true, false);
    ====================================================================
    Background info on the other objects:
    V0200_DATA* dataPtr = (V0200_DATA*) windowsData;
    gHINSTANCE = dataPtr->hInstance;
    Resource File:
    IDB__OPTIONS_LARGE BITMAP "Resources\\ImageOptions_Large.bmp"
    IDI_ICON1 ICON "Resources\\Image_Icon.ico"
    Unfortunately, these bitmaps are not transparent and end up showing the white background instead of the transparent one.
    I have tried using Icons and PNGs as my image but I have been unable to get anything to show up. Here is the code I am using to get the AVIcon:
    ===================================================================
    AVIcon icon = LoadImage(gHINSTANCE, MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDI_ICON1), IMAGE_ICON, 0, 0, LR_DEFAULTSIZE);
    ===================================================================
    However, no image appears on the toolbar. I am able to use LoadImage with the bitmap, but I am unable to make it transparent, even when using the LR_LOADTRANSPARENT flag.
    If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    I got it worked with PNG file. I got transparent backgrounds in toolbar and menus.
    below is my code,
    HRSRC resource = FindResource(gHINSTANCE, MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDB_SAVE_21_PNG), L"PNG");
    if( resource == NULL )
         //Unable to load resource
    DWORD resourceSize = SizeofResource(gHINSTANCE, resource);
    HGLOBAL glob = LoadResource(gHINSTANCE, resource);
    LPVOID resouceArray = LockResource(glob);
    ASUns8  *data = (ASUns8*)ASmalloc(resourceSize + 1);
    memcpy(data, resouceArray, resourceSize);
    AVIconDataRec  iconData;
    iconData.dataStm  =  ASMemStmRdOpen(( char  *)data, resourceSize);
    iconData.eColorFormat  =  kAVIconColor;
    void * iconBundle = AVAppCreateIconBundle6(kAVIconPNG, &iconData, 1);
    AVToolButtonNew (ASAtomFromString("PFXDOC:Pfx_DocumentToolSave"),
                                            iconBundle, true, false);

  • Is there any way to use iphone as a backup for images while travelling

    Iphone would make a great back up store for digital images taken with a real camera while travelling, if there was a way to transfer full resolution image files from a PC to iphone via USB. When I am travelling light, I dont carry a laptop with itunes and the iphone doesn't appear as a drive when connected to a computer. Not sure why the file system is hidden.
    Any ideas for this?

    The iphone does not support disk mode, which would allow it to be used for storage.
    At present, I know of no way to do what you want.

  • Using Photoshop CC I cannot save images to folder from Camera Raw as Tif. I get message 'write permission error'. I am using Widows 7 Professional.

    I have just changed to Photoshop CC from CS4 and cannot now save images from Camera Raw. I get message 'write permission error'. I assume there is some permissions setting which did not exist with CS4.
    I cannot progress unless I revert to CS4. What am I failing to do?

    See if the suggestions, here, help, although this was back with CS6-cloud, not CC, so may not apply 100%:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4758115
    I'd suggest that rather than deleting the file, you move it out of the folder to somewhere else, in case things get worse and you need to put it back.
    I found this by Googling the error message.
    If you can't figure it out, you might post in the "Downloading, Installing and Set Up" or "Adobe Creative Cloud" forums  since it seems to be related to the Cloud updates, and not necessarily ACR plug-in functionality, and I've seen India support people actually tackle problems posted there, which rarely happens in the ACR forum, although an ACR engineer may sometimes pop in to answer questions, they'd be less likely to know how to fix deployment issues.

  • Using the right event/method for the PDF Factsheet.

    When we click on the button to display the PDF Factsheet the current setup forces a java script to be used, named OpenPopup(). This seems to execute and complete before the DO_HANDLE_EVENT method is called. So if I place a break-point in the do_handle_event the PDF is on the screen before the breakpoint is displayed.
    I want to detect the button value BEFORE the PDF Factsheet is created and was wondering if anyone knew how this can be achieved. I'm using B P_HEAD/OVERVIEW.
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
    Just a pointer in case you don't know this funcion is the result of browser event (onClientlclick), which will be called immidiately in the browser before server round trip happens.
    you can find the code of this function OpenPopup() in the BP_HEAD/AccountDetails html, from here you can debug and analyze what's happening in the application.

  • Using Photoshop elements 8.0 for mac

    Suddenly when I try to drag a file into elements it comes in as a very tiny picture.  I do not  see  the usual elements workspace.  I have to use view at  print  size to see the file.  Fixed this problem by reinstalling the program but now it has returned.  What to do?

      Have you tried opening from Bridge or setting up iPhoto with elements as the external editor application?

  • What's the best method for a nav menu with image rollover for all visitors?

    Hi.
    First, thanks for reading this.
    What's the best method for a nav menu with image rollovers for all visitors, including PDAs? I've used JavaScript rollovers for years because the majority of my customers' visitors use some version of IE (past 7.0) but I'm building a new site that has to display properly for the widest range of visitors imaginable. (I also know that I need to use a more modern method for everyone and this is my excuse to start).
    Finally, using images is critical. I apologize ahead of time to anyone I offend, but I have never seen a nav menu without images that doesn't look just plain terrible.
    Thanks.

    If you want the best menus possible for Dreamweaver look no further than Project Seven:
    http://projectseven.com/
    They have all kinds of menus and other extensions available for purchase.  Easy to use and they work as advertised.  I personally use Pop Menu Magic and Tab Panel magic myself.  I could go on and on, but I guarantee that if others respond they will echo the same sentiment for Project Seven.

  • While using Photoshop, my printer will only print a redish tinted photo

    I use windows7. I am able to manipulate phots with the cs5 . However, when I want to print the photo, I am only able to get a redish tinted photo. It looks like a sepia toned print except it has a redish or burgandy color. It does not matter if I select color or black and white print. I still get the samre redish print. My HP printer works well any other time. I can print color or black and white photos at any other time. When I am using Photoshop and want to print a photo that I have been working on I get redish tinted photos only. I am new to Photoshop. I have not used Photoshop before.
    I am 62 and have been a photographer for 40 years. I am old school and have just now come into the digital age! LOL
    I could use some help on this problem. I believe the problem may be in the "color Settings", but the settings screen is new to me and I have not messed with it.
    On my printer settings I just choose either color print or black and white print any other time and have no problem.
    I use an HP Officejet J4680 All in one printer.
    I use Windows7 on a HP Compac Presario Notebook Computer.
    Thanks for your time

  • Used my card reader to import images, now see "incompatible JPEG" on images in camera

    I have a Canon Power Shot A720 and used the card reader to import photos into the organizer.  Now when I go back to erase some images from the camera I see many, but not all, of my 'once' images blacked out with a grey/white box in the center & a yellow question mark. Under the box it says "incompatible JPEG".  What does that mean?  It's never happened to me before, but I usually import my images directly from the camera.

    Hi,
    I'm not sure I understand your question since it's been a while since I had
    trouble.  When I had the trouble I was downloading from my camera and
    storing them in the Organizer.  My problem came when I edited those images
    and RENAMED them.  I guess the organizer didn't recognize the renamed
    photos?  Those were the images which had the yellow check mark.  I now use a
    card reader only, and I store them in 'Pictures' instead of the PSE
    organizer.  I haven't had any more problems.   I think the Organizer, when
    used properly, would be the best choice.....I just couldn't figure it out!
    Frankly, I just didn't understand the Organizer and was used to my own
    method for storage.  I think that's what messed me up.  I had help from a
    computer technician to retrieve those images, and I haven't had any problems
    since.
    As for deleting images, I only delete images from my camera by using the
    delete on my camera.  I never, never delete from my card/camera by using the
    prompt from my computer, like "do you want to delete these images from your
    camera?"
    Good luck!
    Donna
    I don't if I helped you at all.  You're welcome to write back or hope for a
    really good explanation on the forum boards.

  • Edge feathering - an automatic method for stills?

    Hi,
    I'm producing a geneological type slideshow - therefore, plenty of photos (300+) with text captions. The client doesn't like the 'hard' edge of photos and wants to soften them which is easy enough, but....is there an automatic way to do this? I'm using FCP 4.5 and OS X 10.3.9. I used Photoshop CS to prepare the images with ntsc resize etc..etc. i tried to use the photoshop - select - then feather feature, but for some reason, 'feather' is greyed out as a selection. It would save a ton of time if i could batch these.
    i also ran a 'feather' batch in Corel Photopaint 11, but after saving the changes, the 'new' file appear in fcp as they appeared prior to the filter being applied. I double checked a few files before saving to ensure the filter ran successfully. It's like FCP wanted to ignore the changes?
    I know I can use the 'crop - edge feather- feature within fcp for each photo, but is there an automatic way of doing this? I'm thinking there is not as each photo has its own details to be manipulated.
    any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    keebler

    I use the Edge Feather control in FCP's Crop section of the Viewer window's Motion tab. Once I do one of them, I copy it, then select all others, right-click on one, then select "Paste Attribute" from the contextual menu. When the Paste Attributes window opens, click the Crop button on the Video side (left). The edge feathering has now been applied to all other images that you selected.

  • Adding EXIF standards back into a JPG file using Photoshop

    Can anyone tell me how this is done?
    I'm trying to get photos (JPG files) I've edited in Photoshop and placed on an SD card to display on a Panasonic plasma television (TC-P42X1). The televison will only recognize JPG files with DCF or EXIF standards in tact. I'm assuming photos taken with a digital camera (unedited) already build in these stanards, as those photos view just fine. I'm also assuming that Photoshop strips the JPG file of these standards since the error I'm getting is "Cannot Read" with edited images.
    Of course Panasonic says, "It's an Adobe issue." Adobe would probably tell me "It's a Panasonic issue." Neither of those answers help solve my problem.
    Here is what I've tried so far, with little to no luck. Using Photoshop, I've opened an image, gone to File/File Info (given the photo a description), selected "OK" and saved the image as a JPG file (did not use the "Save for Web" path). This has gotten me a step closer. Now I can see a thumbnail image on the television when in menu view, but it still says, "Cannon Read" when trying to view the images with the slide show option. Does anyone know the trick is using Photoshop to correct this issue? I'm open to other options as well.
    Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help solve this problem!!!

    Try this possible workaround:
    1.— Take your original file (before any edits) and duplicate it.
    2.— Work on the duplicate (exact clone) only.  Do all your Photoshop edits to your heart's content.  (Optional step: save the file, but don't close it so you don't compress the JPEG and deteriorate its quality.)  Do a select all (Command+A on the Mac, Control+A on Windows) to select the entire pixel content of the duplicate, and COPY that.  Now you have your edited image on your clipboard.
    3.— Open the original file, and do a select all on it, but don't copy that!  Instead, DELETE all the pixel content of the original.  Now you have a blank image with only the metadata of the original.
    4.— Paste the contents of your clipboard (the pixels of the edited clone) into the blank original.  Save.
    With any luck, you'll have the edited pixels with the metadata of the original.
    It should work, but there are no guarantees.

  • Using Photoshop to add titles

    Hi,
    I want to use Photoshop to create titles for the slideshow I'm creating in iMovie. It's a widescreen (16:9) aspect show. Does anyone know what size canvas/image I should start with in Photoshop so that the titles will be sharp on an widescreen HDTV?
    Thanks for any help...
    -SS

    Hi Steve
    No
    BUT
    I would do like this. Start my iMovie project in 16:9 size then import some
    slides.
    I would then select save a frame as a picture.
    Open it with PhotoShop
    goto picture size and read the amount of pixels.
    Remember that CRT TV have an over-scann so that Your title should be
    about 10-20% smaller than the picture size.

  • Queue access method for In-memory databases

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the Queue access method for an in-memory database
    with no backing file. Here is the how I've created the environment and
    the database.
    int env_flags_create = DB_CREATE | DB_INIT_LOG | DB_INIT_LOCK |
    DB_INIT_MPOOL |DB_INIT_TXN |
    DB_SYSTEM_MEM | DB_RECOVER | DB_THREAD ;
    ret = env->set_shm_key(env, 17);
    ret = env->open(env, R_"in-mem-env", env_flags, 0644);
    int db_flags = DB_CREATE | DB_THREAD | DB_AUTO_COMMIT;
    DB_MPOOLFILE *mpf = subs_db->get_mpf(subs_db);
    mpf->set_flags(mpf, DB_MPOOL_NOFILE, 1);
    ret = queue_db->set_re_len(queue_db, 512);
    ret = queue_db->open(queue_db, NULL, NULL, "queue", DB_QUEUE,
    db_flags, 0644);
    My application has one reader threads and one writer thread. The
    writer write to the queue with the "DB_APPEND" flag and the reader
    consumes the queue using the "DB_CONSUME_WAIT" flag.
    After inserting a few thousand messages the database fails to insert
    any new records and starts returning the following error.
    "unable to allocate space from the buffer cache"
    From the db_stat -e output (attached below) I can see that none of
    the buffer cache pages are ever being freed up.
    149907 Requested pages found in the cache (99%)
    3 Requested pages not found in the cache

    BDB reference manual (http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/
    berkeley-db/db/api_c/frame.html) says that the pages associated with a
    queue can only be reclaimed by setting a queue extent by using the
    "set_q_extentsize" method. When I try to use this method on my in-
    memory database I get the following error.
    " Extent size may not be specified for in-memory queue database"
    Does this mean that I can never use the queue access method for in-
    memory database? Because no matter how big of a shared memory pool I
    allocate to the in-memory database it will eventually get used up by
    the queue (if I'm inserting and consuming records) and there is no way
    to free up the pages associated with the deleted records.
    thx
    nina

    As far as I know you can choose any method as long as print setting are set to "send to spool"
