Using PI 7.1 to transfer file attachments using MTOM standard

Hello All,
We have a scenario using PI 7.1 and we are required that PI calls a synchronous backend service and the backend service returns an attachement using MTOM format.
1) Can this be handled using PI ?
2) Any file size restrictions doing so using PI.
3) Any configuration setting which can be used to achieve the same.
Thanks.
Kiran

hi,
this should be possible with 7.1 as per:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/76/fc9c3d9a864aef8139d70759a499fc/frameset.htm
please check out also this page for config options for MTOM

  • How to remove file attachments using the SDK

    I am looking for ways to programmatically remove file attachments from work items.  If I recall correctly, the system only keeps the file for as long as the relationship exists, so that, in theory, the file is deleted from the database a soon as the
    relationship is removed.
    I found this
    Using the SDK to Create and Edit Objects and Relationships Using Type Projections
    Is this the only way or are the other, simpler ways for deleting relationships and/or file attachments?
    Is this something I could do with the Orchestrator Remove Relationship activity?
    A little background on this question: I have multiple different teams with varying data retention requirements for Service Requests.  My longest requirement is 3 years (audit) while most teams only require 90 days.  I was looking to add in some
    jobs for some more aggressive file attachment grooming to keep the database smaller.
    Thanks.

    The relationship is defined as a membership/containment relationship. So, yes, if you delete the relationship, the file attachment (and the associated blob) are deleted as well.
    Based on the background you described, I'm assuming you identify a bunch of work orders whose files you want to delete if they're older than X. So, for instance "Work Items with Y team; delete file attachments older than 90 days", "Work Items
    with Q team; delete file attachments older than 3 years". Is that right?
    If so, you don't necessarily need to delete relationships specifically...you can simply delete the file attachment objects which will delete the relationship, the file attachment object, and the associated blob (the file itself in the database).
    Using the SDK, you will not need type projections for this. You'll only need the work item object(s) (an incident or service request or whatever), the GetRelatedObjects<>() method, and an IncrementalDiscoveryData object.
    So, after you get all of the appropriate work items, you can use the following snippet to delete their file attachments if the attachments meet your age requirements
    //Connect to the management group
    String strMySCSMServer = "<my mgmt server>";
    emg = new EnterpriseManagementGroup(strMySCSMServer);
    IncrementalDiscoveryData idd = new IncrementalDiscoveryData();
    ManagementPackRelationship relWorkItemHasFileAttachment = emg.EntityTypes.GetRelationshipClass(new Guid("AA8C26DC-3A12-5F88-D9C7-753E5A8A55B4")); //System.WorkItemHasFileAttachment
    //Get the work item's related file attachments using it's Id
    Guid myWorkItemGuid = new Guid("<some work item guid>");
    IList<EnterpriseManagementObject> lstFileAttachments = emg.EntityObjects.GetRelatedObjects<EnterpriseManagementObject>(myWorkItemGuid, relWorkItemHasFileAttachment, TraversalDepth.OneLevel, ObjectQueryOptions.Default);
    //Loop through each file attachment
    foreach (EnterpriseManagementObject emoFile in lstFileAttachments)
    //Determine its age
    DateTime AddedDate = (DateTime)emoFile[null, "AddedDate"].Value;
    TimeSpan FileAttachmentAge = AddedDate.Subtract(DateTime.Now);
    //Prep the file attachment for deletion if it's old enough, in this example, older than 90 days
    if (FileAttachmentAge.Days > 90)
    idd.Remove(emoFile);
    //Submit the deletions to the database.
    idd.Commit(emg);

  • I just used a firewire connection to transfer files from an older MAC to a newer MAC. My newer MAC has lost all that was on it, and all the applications are opening like they have never been used before and asking for Rosetta. Help!!!

    I just used a firewire connection to transfer files from a PowerBook G4 to a MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro has lost all that was on it, and all the applications are opening like they have never been used before and asking for Rosetta. How do I find all my files on the MacBook Pro, or undo what I have done???

    IGNORE the last post: he thought you are using Lion or Mountain Lion.
    Since you are using Snow Leopard, you need to install Rosetta.  It can be found on your Snow Leopard Install DVD in the Options section.
    Once installed all should be well again.
    Also, if your computer is connected to the internet when the Dialog Box about PowerPC applications comes up, it MIGHT allow you to download Rosetta from the internet.  There has been some discussion that Apple has discontined internet download of Rosetta into Snow Leopard.
    Someone else will have to address your lost files problem.

  • Best way to transfer files without using migration assistant

    upgrading from snow leopard to mavericks goes ok, but migrating files hangs with "less than a minute to go". What is the best way to transfer user files without using migration assistant?

    I keep backups of essential documents in Dropbox, and then the files can sync when I reinstall Dropbox.
    For larger collections of files, for example, my Documents folder, or iTunes or iPhoto libraries, I transfer them from a Time Machine Backup- just by going into the backup manually and restoring the folders.
    If you have files that can fit on a flash drive, then you can use that, which is very fast.

  • Using jdk1.3.1 to transfer files/folders from one directory to another

    I am writing a simple program to transfer files and folders from one directory to another
    For example, I have some files and folders in C:\send\ directory.
    I want to know how to move them to C:\receive\ directory.
    Can someone please tell me which class I should use and which method?
    I need to complete this urgently.
    Thanks.
    Deeply appreciate it.

    not very difficult. You should use the File class and the "renameTo" method.
    Example:
      File origin = new File("c:\\lost\\myFile.zer");
      File dest = new File("c:\\found\\myFile.zer");
      origin.renameTo(dest);Of course you have to take care that the file doesn't exists previously, etc. But i think that all you need is in the File class.
    Hope this helps.

  • I used the migration assistant to transfer files from my PC to my Mac but it recreated my user profile from the PC and I wanted to transfer the files to the new different user profile I've setup on the Mac. How can I transfer everything now?

    I have an older Windows laptop and I am switching to a new MacBook Air. The main user on the Windows laptop is going to be different than the main user on the MacBook. I used the migration assistant to transfer data to the MacBook but it recreated the whole older profile on the new Mac when I just wanted to pull everything over into the new user profile I had already created on the new MacBook. How can I go about putting the data over into the new user profile and erasing the older other user profile it recreated? Would I erase the old user profile on the new Mac and start over with the migration assistant using some setting I missed that lets me pull the data over to the new main user on the MacBook? Or is there a way to rename the old user profile on the Mac to match what I want the new username/password to be somehow?
    Or would it be best to back the data I really need from the old PC onto an external HD and then copy it over to the new Mac from the external HD?
    Looking for advice on how to best go about this. On the old PC I had multiple profiles and it was awkward. On the new Mac I just want a single profile for the primary user and both users will just share the same user profile. I wasn't sure if the Migration Assistant only let you recreate entire profiles or if there was a way to just import data from the old PC's primary profile into the new Mac's new primary profile with some setting adjustment.
    Data would be docs, pics, bookmarks, music. Fairly basic.
    Thanks for any and all advice,
    -Crosscourier.

  • Problems using windows media player to transfer files to zen x

    All 9gs of my music is stored in windows media player music library.transferring it to zen xtra has caused many cds arriving at player with wrong content under different artists and some songs copied many times over. Is there a known conflict using windows player and zen xtra?I would use mediasource but my cds imported to ther interface with many not identified even thogh all my music was clearly labeled with artist, title and gnere in windows music library.Any help would be great. I cant get my 9gs of music into the zen without content mess u
    ps.
    thanks matt

    I, for one, am incredibly dissapointed in the portable file aspect of this player. i work in a PC store and we sell the Zen Touch , i also received one for christmas. At first i was very happy that i could also use it to carry my files to and from school but all my hopes were extinguished when i realized that the computers i would transfering to and from had to have the creative software installed. Obviously, Creative's target consumers are of the Student generation, so they must have known that we, as students , use computer labs in school. So why not add the firmware to override the creative software when transfering data files? What's written on the box and the sales pitch creative uses is extreamly misguided and alot of the buyers have come back to the store with complaints. They arn't happy, i'm not happy, creative should fix this porblem, and yes it is a problem and not "part of the design".

  • Email file attachments using utl_smtp

    I would like to attach a PDF file to an e-mail. The PDF file

    from Oracle Forms using the utl_smtp procedure. The email will
    have some text in the body of the email and I would like to
    attach the PDF file.
    I have know how to send an emial using the utl_smtp procedure
    with a subject and body text. I have seen an example of how to
    attach in-line text, but wasn't sure how to attache a file.
    In example It appears that the attached text file is generated
    from inline text and they are not attaching a Text File.
    Can anyone help.
    P.S. I am doing this both from the WEB and Client Server

    The issue has to do with the space in filename in the utl_http.begin_request. I got it fixed. Thanks

  • Can I use or convert existing .cfa & .pek files to use in a new video?

    I accidentally but permanently deleted all source files for a short video I was working on.   I still have video and audio files located in the Adobe Elements folders.  I can use the video files (MPEGs) to reconstruct the video portion but I can't seem to use the .cfa and .pek files in the Media Cache folder to reconstruct the audio.  Is there a way I can convert these into usable files?

    OK, this might take some time, but might help you out. Do a system search for *.WAV and look at the file names carefully. You will get a ton, but you can click on Name to get these into alphabetical order. Look for file names, that match your Assets, and also the rather cryptic Render file file names.
    Different versions of PrE and different OS's might well have placed these in different places on your computer. When you start the search, go get a cup (or two) of coffee. Wait for this to complete. Then, click Name and start looking. Hope that you did not choose caffinated coffee!
    Hope that you will be able to find the audio .WAV files someplace.
    Note, the file name might start, or end, with terms like "audio," but there should also have matching characters that match your Assets, or you Render files.
    Also, depending on what you Rendered, how many times you Rendered, and a few other aspects, you may have to gather pieces, and patch together.
    Though too late to help, I have a particular workflow:
    If I am Capturing from a miniDV tape, I let the captured files go to the sub-folder "Capture" in the Project hierarchy, as I have the tapes, and never reuse them.
    If I am using footage, or other Assets, that were copied to my HDD, I ONLY work with copies of those Assets and keep the origianls on either my NAS, or on an external. I Copy these over to the appropriate folder in the Project's hierarchy, i.e. I never work with the original Assets, which are safe elsewhere. This means that I am less likely to delete, modify, or otherwise mess with the originals. I know that this is too late now, but could be something to think of in the future.
    Good luck, and I hope that you find corresponding .WAV files.

  • Export file Attachments in Siebel

    hi ,
    we have a requirement to export siebel attachment from Siebel eclinical application. The entity relation is between activity and attachments.
    When i am trying to export the files attachments using the following IFB code
    [Siebel Interface Manager]
         USER NAME = "sadmin"
         PASSWORD = "****"
         PROCESS = "EXPORTATTACHMENTS"
    [EXPORTATTACHMENTS]
         TYPE = EXPORT
         TABLE = EIM_ACT_DTL
         BATCH = 2
         ATTACHMENT DIRECTORY = "f:\sia81\CTMS\siebsrvr\OUTPUT"
         EXPORT ALL ROWS = FALSE
         EXPORT MATCHES     = S_ACTIVITY_ATT,( FILE_NAME LIKE "MarcRendell-PS%")
    When runnign this ifb following is the observation
    1) the process is extracting all the reocrds activity table to EIM tables and seems like EXPORT MATCHES condition is kinda ignored as there were less numbers of recprds which were expedted.
    2) the files are not getting exported to the location ( also tried with SiebFS)
    Could you please help me with your inputs which will help me to solve this issue.
    Warm Regards
