Using QUERY_FIND by date range EBS-R12

   HI ,
I have developed a custom form for EBS R12, and i used the standard technique to develop it,
I also used the QUERY_FIND object group to display search form. using below code in the pre-query trigger of the block
BEGIN
   IF :parameter.g_query_find = 'TRUE'
   THEN
      COPY (:query_find.item,
            'my_block.item'
      :parameter.g_query_find := 'FALSE';
   END IF;
END;
and everything is working fine.
but now i need to search for a DATE item, and the search should be by Date From and Date  to.
I can't use the copy function to do the search for date range.
so i want to know the standard way that I should use to do such search.
I thought to used SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY and change the DEFAULT_WHERE
is this a standard way to do this search, or there is other way to do that.
Best Regards
Amir

Hi,
Try something like this:
SELECT       grad_stu_id
FROM       grad_fee_structure_hist
GROUP BY  grad_stu_id
HAVING       COUNT ( CASE
                  WHEN  DATE '2010-09-01'  BETWEEN  grad_eff_fee_date
                                           AND        grad_exp_fee_date
                THEN  1
            END
          )     > 0
AND       COUNT ( CASE
                  WHEN  DATE '2009-09-01'  BETWEEN  grad_eff_fee_date
                                           AND        grad_exp_fee_date
                THEN  1
            END
          )     = 0
;If a NULL grad_fee_exp_date means that the row is currently in force, then use something like
NVL ( grad_fee_exp_date
    , DATE '9999-12-31'
    )instead of the raw date.
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements) and the results you want from that data. Explain how you get those results from that data, giving specific examples.
Always say what version of Oracle you're using.

  • Using criteria on date ranges and ignoring times, best method

Where col.date is a date and time datatype, I know that by using:
    trunc(col.date) between trunc(sysdate-10) and trunc(sysdate)
    or
    to_char(col.dat,'YYYYMMDD') between to_char(sysdate-10,'YYYYMMDD') and to_char(sysdate,'YYYYMMDD')
the results will include rows where col.date is between and including sysdate less 10 days and sysdate.
However, this means Oracle will not use any ordinary (ie not function based) index on the table.
I do not want to add another index (it's a transaction table with many transactions per second) and I would like to improve the speed of the query.
I know that it is close to use
col.date between sysdate-10 and sysdate+ (1-1/(60*60*24)) but this will cause missed data.
    select sysdate-10 from dual
    2007-01-20-14.03.44
But I want to include any transaction on 2007-01-20, before, during and after the time of 14.03.44.
Perhaps I have to either live with the speed problem or create a function based index on trunc(col.dated).
    Any comments, thanks?

If you worry about index using why not to use <<datecolumn>> >= trunc(sysdate-10) and <<datecolumn>> < trunc(sysdate+1) ?

  • Use formula for date range instead of parameter?

I am designing a Crystal report that will always pull records for the next full week.
Example:  Today is 8/4, so I need the report to pull data for dates 8/11 through 8/15.
Currently, I am using parameters each time to run this report.
Is there a formula that could automatically pull this date range without using parameters in my report?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

This is actually not too difficult.  Assuming you want to be able to run this on any date and get the "Next Full Week" starting on Monday (based on your date range above), here's what you could do:
    1.  Create a formula that I'll call {@StartDate}
NumberVar dow := DatePart('w', CurrentDate, crMonday) - 1;  //Day of week, starting on Monday.
    NumberVar days := 7 - dow;
    CurrentDate + days
    2. Create a formula that I'll call {@EndDate}:
    {@StartDate} + 7
    3.  In the Select Expert, manually edit the selection formula to use these date formulas instead of the parameters.

  • Query using Between for date range

    Hi,
I need to list a date range of registration.. i entered
4/12/2007 (as value for form.regstart) and 7/12/2007 (as value for
    form.regend)..
    WHERE dateregistered BETWEEN #CreateODBCDate(form.regstart)#
    AND #CreateODBCDate(form.regend)#
the result that i got was only from 4/12/2007 to 6/7/2007..
however when i run the same coding at mysql.. it works
    perfectly..
    any idea?

Turn on debugging and see what dates show up in the sql that
went to your db. Cold Fusion might be confused by your date format.
    I certainly am.

  • How to use 2 Dropdown box in webapplication for date range selection

    Dear all,
I am working on a report that will show 2 drop down boxes. These should be used as a date range.
This works fine if I use 2 variables as a date range on 0CALYEAR. However I dont want the user to fill in the dates but selecting the dates with 2 drop down boxes.
I cannot manage to get this to work. I saw some comments about user exits in the forum but I cannot figure it out if there is an easier way.
Could you give me an idea of what to do?
    Thanks a lot,
    Andreas

    Hi,
If you want the user to select the date directly rather than entering, you need not to have a dropdown menu in WAD. Directly go to the query which you have selected for the object in WAD, there create a variable with calendar. Put it mandatory, so that the user selection of the date will be mandatory. The variable will be automatically be available when you execute the template inn the browser.
Assign points if this helps u.

I am sure an Analytic query is the optimal solution. I need help creating the query. So far, I have attempted to use the min() and then both First_value() over partition clause but I do not know how to specify the window clause using a logical date range to calculate the 2 1/2 hours.
A lot of documentation states that I can use an expression for the range between but I cannot get one even compile
Need Help or documentation that provide some assistance
    Thanks

I can get to the min and max, but for bucket, row_number() doesn't take the same windowing logical offset.

  • Can anyone share how to integrate Demantra Demand Management to EBS R12?

    Hi all,
Can anyone suggest how to integrate Demantra Demand Management to EBS R12?
    I use Demantra 7.2 and EBS R12.
I search in Manual and in some blogs but not much data support. If possible, I want step-by-step starting from set up such as setup the instance.
    More of my concern are;
    - Is Demantra can integrate with MRP, without APS or ASCP?
    - Is that necessary to integrate by using seed data? If I implement my series with all new series, how can I suppose to link them to EBS?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Tanya T.

    Hi Tanya,
To begin with, you can refer to the Metalink doc 434991.1 for an in-depth explanation on the integration from a technical perspective. Apart from this, there is an ocean of knowledge in the Demantra Documentation libraby in the metalink. The Implementation Guide provides an overview of the integration processes that synchronize or move data between Oracle Demantra and E-Business Suite applications.
    Now coming to your concerns:
    - Can Demantra be integrated with MRP, without APS or ASCP?
After going through the above mentioned documents on Demantra, if you still want an integrated instance of Demantra and MRP without using APS, then it will have to be a highly customized solution. This scenario will obviously have a great impact on various business aspects, which is out of scope of this discussion.
    - Is it necessary to integrate by using seeded data? How to link new series to EBS?
The Demantra - EBS integration adds two new responsibilities for Demand Management viz. i)Demand Management System Administrator and ii)Demand Analyst.
The System Administrator creates a new user in the E-Business Suite with the relevant responsibility for which the user is automatically created in Oracle Demantra.
The user with "Demand management system Administrator" responsibility can create new series that get added in the Demand management component on creation. This series can then be used as per requirement.
I hope my comments help.Feel free for further discussions.
    Regards,
    Shekhar

  • Possible to pass a date range to a subreport?

    Hi,
I've created a report with three groups and I suppress the second and third group. The first group displays a summary of the details.  If I "hide" the details I have a nice summary looking report which I can then click on to drill down into the details. However, I cannot enable the "hide" functionality because of two reasons: 1. I'm using the crystal java viewer and it has serious limitations when using the hide/drill-down feature; and 2. in order to print I have to click on each group item in order to print - so when I have 20 values in my group I'm going into each group 20 times and printing 20 times.
So, I still want a summary view of all my group summaries at the front of my report.  How can I consolidate the group values into a single summary view? I attempted creating a subreport that is the same as the main report however the issue is that the initial parameter used is a date *range". I'd like to pass the date range to the subreport and then I'm sure this would all work. Does crystal support passing a date range to a sub-report? If so, how is this done?
    thx!
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
Yes, you can pass a date range value to the SUbreport!
    Here's how its done:
    1) Create a formula in the Main report; call it Start_date:
    Minimum({?Date_parameter})
    2) Create a second formula in the Main report and call it End_date:
    Maximum({?Date_parameter})
    3) Insert the sub-report and then Right-click the sub-report > Select Change Subreport links > Move the Start_date and End_date formulas to 'Fields to Link to' area and make sure you uncheck the 'Select data in subreport based on field' option.

  • Date range formula

    Post Author: Drumcode
    CA Forum: Formula
    Hello,
My first post, I'm a total newb using CR11, I hope you forgive me if I'm asking a very simple question here. Is there a generic formula for date range I could use in the page header based on the date range from selection expert? I can probably get away with just the text field up there, but it'd be nice to automate it on my other reports. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Alright, so I've created the parameter fields for the date range. It pulls the data correctly but now, how do I make this date range visible in the page header?I want it to look this way:
Report Title                                              Date Range: 00-00-0000 to 00-00-0000                    Company Name                                                                                Print Date
    DataDataData----
Again, I can live with that date range to be a text object but how can I have it use the same data range as the parameter field?

  • How to upload data into form of Oracle EBS R12 using ATS ver 9.0

    Hi experts,
Could you please guide me how to upload data into form on Oracle EBS R12 using Oracle Application Testing Suite verson 9.(The simpliest way)
For example: I need to create user account on Oracle EBS. Normally, I use Dataloader to upload the data, however it just can upload one by one record, cannot upload multi record at same time. Moreover if the performance of server is low, so I will get the issue when using dataloader.
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards
    Hieu

Hi you can create Virtual users to enter data. Note than you have to name the objects accordingly.
For Example default recording provided by Open script is ObjectNAME_(Index No of the object).
when you record one iteration the name of any object would be ObjectNAME_(0)
You can then create virtual users so the index will increment as the total number of Virtual users increases. Also you have to handle which row of your test data would get mapped to which Virtual user in the script run session.
    Thanks

  • Oracle EBS R12 - DR setup using Oracle Data Guard

    Hi,
Our customer has implemented Oracle EBS R12 (12.0.6) on a Two Node RAC on HP-UX env. The application Tier also has Two Nodes(Admin Tier and Web Tier).
Oracle Clusterware - OCR and Vote Disk are on Raw Devices and the EBS database is on ASM.
Customer wants to implement a DR solution with Oracle Data Guard with only 2 servers - 1 for the Database Tier and 1 for the Application Tier on the DR Site.
I would like to know if this could be done by following note: 452056.1? I would also like to know if there are other useful docs.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Customer escalated this issue to Oracle and they came up with this reply:
They can implement Disaster recovery solution from RAC to NON RAC using Solution A which use RMAN utilities for backup and recovery.
While now AMP Application Management Pack gives the capablitiy to build non RAC from RAC Envioment, In future AMP will be capable also to support cloning of DB with Data Guard.
    Details
    Solution A - Using RMAN:
For Release 12 customers, you can clone from a RAC to RAC (like to like) or RAC to non-RAC. This is using RMAN scripts to take a copy of the db when it’s in archive mode. if you’re leveraging any disaster recovery tools like data guard, the above solution should work fine…perhaps some fine tuning to the procedures
Solution B - Using AMP in the future release
For Release 11i , Release 12.x customers, AMP would be offering a new cloning solution that wouldn’t have dependency on Rapid Clone. This solution leverages the strengths of EM Grid Control in provisioning or cloning targets such as databases. This would be an advance solution that would support:
    o A full-fledged scale down cloning
o Cloning of EBS deployed on Shared File System
o Hot and Cold mode cloning
o Quantifiable reduction in clone time for the entire EBS system
This solution would be leveraging EM grid Control’s DB provisioning pack’s clone utilities, that are quite advanced and support cloning of DB with Data Guard.
The recommendation is to start trialing AMP version 3.0, making the purchase and implementing within the Enterprise. As we release the new version of AMP (release 3.0.1), Customer would be in a better position to quickly implement the latest features
Can anyone let me know if the solution A suggested will work.
    Rgds,
    Thiru

    1. in physical connections part can i use the same work schema
    2. Can i use same contexts created or do i need to create everything as new and then try?
    Thanks,
    Rp.
    Hi,
As you mentioned that you just upgraded the database, so the data is same and schema is same you can connect with the same work schema.
Yes, you can use the same contexts , but need to do Reverse Engineering for your new database.
And about data server, i think you also have no need to create new data server, if hostname, sid and port etc are same as these were with R11(consult with your DBAs regarding it)
