Using query strings to pass variables...

I'm trying to use the query string method to pass some
variables into a SWF, but I can't seem to get it to work. All of
the documentation I've seen references the object/embed method for
displaying the SWF, but I'm using Dreamweaver's
AC_RunActiveContent.js method to display the SWF. Would this cause
a problem for the query string?
Here's what I'm trying in the HTML that houses it:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0
Transitional//EN" "
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="
http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<link href="../bk.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"
/>
<script src="../Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js"
type="text/javascript"></script>
</head>
<body>
<script type="text/javascript">
AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0','wid th','301','height','240','src','videoplayer','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.ma cromedia.com/go/getflashplayer','movie','videoplayer'
); //end AC code
</script><noscript><object
classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0"
width="301" height="240">
<param
name="movie" value="videoplayer.swf?vid=dbc2006" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<embed
src="videoplayer.swf?vid=dbc2006" quality="high"
pluginspage="
http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="301"
height="240"></embed>
</object></noscript>
</body>
</html>

I've been doing a little research... not being a programmer,
I'm a little out to lunch on this stuff. I now realize that what I
put in the HTML page is meaningless, unless the viewer's browser
won't use JavaScript.
I now know that I need to define my variables in the HTML
page, and have the .js file recongnize and use them.
That's where my lack of knowledge really gets in the way. :)
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to modify the .js file to put
my "?vid=dbc2006" into the string?
Thanks!

  • SharePoint 2013 Query string parameter pass between visual webparts

    Hi,
    I have created one web part called Latest News in SharePoint 2013 which is
    visual web part(Sandbox Solution).
    In that, there is button called "Read More". Now when I click on that button I want to show only that item in the new page which is clicked using query string. but the data which will be shown after Read More button will be coming
    from a different Visual Web Part.
    How should I pass a query string value from one visual webpart to another visual webpart in SharePoint 2013 ?
    Could anyone please help me like how we can pass.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    To pass information from one web part to another, we can use the consumer and provider web part with the
    IWebPartParameters interface.
    There are some articles about this topic, you can refer to them.

  • Use query string between two custom New Form

    Hi guys,
    i have a New Form . In this  form i have  a button that open(onClick) another list form (it is a  different list). I have to pass a field value from the first form to the other . How can i do this using query string?Help please!
    Thank you!

    To pass some value with query string, you just need to open the form url with the querystring parameters (jquery needed):
    var url = '<yourlist>/newform.aspx?parameter1=' + $('input[Title="Title"]').val()
    SP.UI.ModalDialog.ShowPopupDialog(url)
    on the second newform.aspx, you can grab the querystring parameters with the Sharepoint native function "_spGetQueryParam('<lower case query key>')"
    var x = _spGetQueryParam("parameter1")
    Note: make sure you use the key as lowercase, even you if pass it with chars in uppercase.

  • Receiver SOAP Adapter Use Query String

    Hello everybody,
    I want to include in my Receiver SOAP Adapter the message id as part of the URL String, but I need to include only the MessageId value, if I use the Use Encoded Headers and Use Query String options it includes all the header fields as part of the URL, is there a way to define only the fields that I need?, thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Julio Cesar

    May be you could try to use adapter specific message attribute "TServerLocation". This will help you set the dynamic URL.

  • Setting SharePoint 2010 Form Fields Using Query String Variables

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement to populate sharepoint form field value with query string while uploading document to document library.
    While uploading the document to document library, I want to populate claim number available from query string in a pop up page i.e in my case EditForm.aspx, Located at
    http://servername:port/sitename/documentlibraryname/forms/EditForm.aspx.
    Additional Information:
    Created document library and added custom columns like claim number etc..
    Created a view to filter uploaded documents as per claim number.
    Server Details:
    Windows Server 2008 R2
    SharePoint 2010
    SQL Server 2008 R2
    I have written javascript for the same, but not sure where exactly to add the code in EditForm.aspx page.
    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanking you in advacne.
    Regards
    Seva

    if the NewForm.aspx contain a "New Item Form" or "Edit Item Form" you can populate the form field by doing the following:
    First for the data view create a parameter from query string and give it the claim_number query string name.
    now for the field Claim Number Convert it to normal ASP.NET TextBox example below for this
    Normal Field will be like this
    <SharePoint:formfield runat="server" id="ff5{$Pos}" ControlMode="Edit" FieldName="ClaimNumber" ItemId="{@ID}" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('u',concat('ff5',$Pos),'Value','ValueChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@ClaimNumber')}" />
    you will change it to
    <asp:TextBox runat="server" id="ff5{$Pos}" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',concat('ff5',$Pos),'Text','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@ClaimNumber')}" />
    Now in the asp:TextBox you can add the "Text" Attribute and assign the created data view parameter to it example below
    <asp:TextBox runat="server" id="ff5{$Pos}" Text="{$Claim_Number}" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',concat('ff5',$Pos),'Text','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@ClaimNumber')}" />
    Where {$Claim_Number} is your Query String Parameter.
    Now if you send the query string NewForm.aspx?Claim_Number=1232
    you should see the field populated
    This what I do usually to populate the fields

  • Need example for using query string parameters in Web Dynpro

    Hello,
    Is it possible to transfer a Web DynPro application parameters at the query string (URL)?
    Can someone please show me an example of how to pass it and how to retreive it using code inside an application?
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
    when launching WD apps in the Portal you have to define a WD iView in the Portal. This can be started using the NavigationTarget parameter.
    Parameters (ie. Business Parameters) that should be passed to the WebDynpro application can be defined in the iView itself - the iView attribute is called "Application Parameters". Here you can also define variable expressions like "emailaddr=<User.email>" so that the value of the email address is evaluated on runtime.
    This way you don't have to care about URL encodings at all
    The following user expressions can be used:
    <User.displayname>
    <User.uniquename>
    <User.firstname>
    <User.lastname>
    <User.salutation>
    <User.jobtitle>
    <User.department>
    <User.email>
    <User.telephone>
    <User.mobile>
    <User.fax>
    <User.streetaddress>
    <User.city>
    <User.zip>
    <User.country>
    <User.state>
    <User.timezone>

  • Example to use Query String in Oracle Access Manager Policy.

    Hi All,
    Can any one please tell me what is the use of Query String and Query String Variable in OAM Policy?
    If possible please explain with a sample example.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Siva Pokuri.

    Query string is used to protect URL with complete query string.
    Ex: in case you want to protect http://hi.com/first.html?uid=abc&pqr=123 URL then you will specify query string as uid=abc&pqr=123.
    In case you want to protect a URL with one of the query parameter as xyz and you do not care of other query parameters, then query string variables are used.
    Ex: in case you want to protect http://hi.com/first.html?uid=abc&pqr=123 and http://hi.com/first.html?uid=abc&pqr=456 both with same policy then you will create a policy to protect first.html and in query string variables you will specify uid=abc.
    Let me know if you have any problems in understanding this.
    Thanks

  • Export to Excel is not working for List View Web Part after filtering using Query String parameters in SharePoint 2010

    Hi,
    I am filtering SharePoint list view web part based on Query string parameter and I am doing Export to Excel by using following code.
    <a href="#" onclick="javascript:window.location='../_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Using=_layouts/query.iqy&List=0DC67399-BE11-48F3-ADFC-E911FB8B5845&View=54671412-3EFE-4281-835A-9EF747AE774E&CacheControl=1'"><img
    alt="Excel" src="/_layouts/images/icxlsx.gif" border="0"/>&nbsp;Export to Excel</a>
    Issue: Able to do Export to Excel when there are no filters applied on list view web part but if applied filters on web part and do export to excel , only header fields are displaying in the excel sheet.
    I don't know why owssvr.dll is behaving like that .
    Please share your ideas.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create hyperlink to export to excel.
    The URL to execute the export is as follows:
    {Site URL}/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Using=_layouts/query.iqy&List={List GUID}&View={View GUID}&CacheControl=1
    After getting the GUID, you  need to “decode” the list GUID.
    Replace %7B with {
    Replace %2D with –
    Replace %7D with }

  • Using Query String Parameters with Session Scoped bean

    I would like to pass query string parameters from a product page (user clicks on a specific product commandLink) that is request scope to a details page that is session scoped.
    The problem is that the session scoped page only handles the first request. If you view the details of a product and then navigate back to the product page and choose another product ... the details page will not handle the new query string parameters and display the details for the first product chosen.
    Is there a way to make the session scoped bean recognize the query string parameters past the first request?

    I was able to replicate this problem with a very simple app that performs a redirection... just like the real app. Here's the simple app that I put together:
    From request scope page:
    <f:view>
             <h:form>
               <h:commandButton value="Link 1" action="#{reqbean.Link1}"/>
               <br/><br/>
              <h:commandButton value="Link 2" action="#{reqbean.Link2}"/>
            </h:form>
           </f:view>
    From request scope bean:
    public String Link1() throws IOException
        // Add event code here...
        //redirect the user
        FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().redirect("untitled2.jspx?p=1");
        return null;
      public String Link2() throws IOException
        // Add event code here...
        //redirect the user
        FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().redirect("untitled2.jspx?p=2");
        return null;
      }At this point... I put a println in the constructor of the session scoped bean because this is where I want to get the query string params. The constructor only gets called the first time a redirect is performed.

  • SharePoint 2010 Query string parameter pass between visual webparts

    Hi
    I should pass a query string value from one visual webpart to another visual webpart in SharePoint 2010 .
    Could you please help me like how we can pass
    Thanks

    In the webpart you can add the code like "Response.Redirect("Page2.aspx?CustomerID=326");"
    Once you develop the webparts, add them to the respective pages based on your required functionality.

    After some further examination it seems that both calls are picked up by the same interface. In the RWB both the messages are picked up by the MIOS_GetDetails...
