Using Scriptlet expressions as attribute values in taglibs

Hi,
          While calling a custom tag in a JSP page that has attributes set up to
          accept scriptlet expressions in the TLD, a space is required before and
          after the variable like in <abc:xyz attr1=<%= xyz %> />
          otherwise, the JSP page does not compile. Using Weblogic 5.1.0 SP5 on
          Windows NT.

Runtime expression values work fine. Sounds like an unbalanced tag problem.
          Inproperly quoted strings?

  • JSP 1.2: jsp expression in attribute value doesn't parse.

    Hi, I'm trying to use a jsp:expression in an html attribute value in JSP 1.2 but jasper doesn't seem to be able to parse it correctly. I'm using the XML syntax in my jsp, the relevant snippets are as follows:
    <jsp:scriptlet>
    String versionedPath = "/mysite/2.1/images";
    </jsp:scriptlet>
    <img src="%= versionedPath %/foo.jpg" />
    The JSP documentation claims that this will work but I'm beginning to think this syntax won't work when using JSP's XML syntax. I already know that the following won't work:
    <img src="<jsp:expression> versionedPath </jsp:expression>/foo.jpg" />
    as it did in JSP 1.1 because it's not well-formed xml.
    Is it even possible to use jsp expressions in attribute values when using JSP 1.2's XML syntax? If so, please enlighten me, and if not, well, that seems pretty broken to me.
    TIA...
    --Stuart

    you should use this:
    <img src=<%= versionedPath %>/foo.jpg >

  • How to get URL of a certain file and use it as an attribute value?

    Hello, I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
    I want to get the URL of a file and use it as input of another attribute. I used inputFile but I can not get the URL directly from there. Do I have to build a managedBean? Can anyone help me with an idea on how to do this? If you could help me with a simple method it would be great.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    seems to need to step back for a moment and learn about how file input works if you don't know how to access the uploaded file. Please read

  • Getting the attribute value from a table from page def using el expression.

    Hi,
    Am using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.0.0 and have a requirement as follows for which a sample is been created. Requirement is as follows..
    1. Have a Taskflow that has a readonly table Employee.
    2. On clicking of a button called "route" checks if the selected row , Manager id attribute value = 200 then navigate to first page else if manager id attribute value is 200 then navigate to second page.
    Through the page def , if it has form , then we can access the attributes like #{data.view_FirstPageDef.ManagerId} . In case of acquiring the same attribute value from table using page def ? is what am unable to get..
    Have achieved the routing concept using the Router activity on Taskflow. But am unable to get the selected row attribute value of a table from the employee page def.. Can someone suggest on the same...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vinitha G

    On the router, right click its icon in the task flow and create a page definition. Then in the page def file, add an iterator based on the same View Object from the table in the first page, then add a value attribute mapped to managerId in the View Object iterator. Finally in the router you can write EL expressions along the lines of #{bindings.ManagerId.inputValue = 200} or #{bindings.ManagerId.inputValue != 200}.

  • Custom tag attribute calculated by scriptlet expression

    Hi,
              If I set the rtexprvalue subelement of the attribute element in my tld to
              "true", should I be able to dynamically determine the value of my custom tag
              attribute using a scriptlet expression?
              When I include the custom tag reference:
              <prod:getCategory id="category"
              categoryID="<%=request.getParameter("catID")%>" scope="page"/>
              it actually gets written to the html as:
              <prod:getCategory id="category" categoryID="2133" scope="page"/>
              and is not recognized as a jsp tag.
              I am using weblogic 6.0 sp1.
              Thanks in advance!

    I had the same problem in a design a couple of months ago and could not get around it so I switched the functionality into code and out of the tag lib.
    I take it you are trying to do something like this?
    <%
    String value="hiworld";
    %>
    <mytaglib:saysomething value="<%=value%>"/>

    Hello Ajay,
    I cant really understand how a particular style can be applied to only an individual column.In the simplest case the attribut 'columnClasses' of data_table contains
    the same number of style classes as you have columns in your table. These
    classes are then applied one to one to the columns.
    If there are fewer classes than columns then you can think of the classes
    beeing repeated until there is one class for each column. In the extreme
    case of only one class this means that this class is applied to all columns.
    The following example shows the simplest case of three columns
    and three classes. Just remove one or two classes from the columnClasses
    attribute to see the 'repeating' behavior.

  • Attribute value does not accepitng expression ???

    ]I am using Tomcat 5.0.28 and JSTL 1.0.6. I put the files standard.jar and jstl.ar within my web-app WEB-INF/lib folder. I made no changes in web.xml. Then I ran the following program as test.jsp
    <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core" %>
    <html>
    <body>
    <c:set var="hello" value="Hello World!"/>
    <c:out value="${hello}"/>
    </html>
    </body>
    I'm getting this error message <br>
    "According to TLD or attribute directive in tag file, attribute value does not accept any expression"

    With Tomcat5, you should be using JSTL1.1.
    The JSTL1.0 tags didn't let you use runtime expressions like <%= expr %> with your tags. Instead you had to use ${expr}.
    ${expr} is a runtime expression in JSP2.0, where it wasn't before.
    JSTL1.1 provides a new tld with the correct settings.
    You should be using JSTL1.1 and the uri:
    <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" %>

  • In Jsp TagLib how can I get the Attribute value (like JavaBean) in jsp

    Dear Friends,
    TagLib how can I get the Attribute value (like JavaBean) in jsp .
    I do this thing.
    public void setPageContext(PageContext p) {
              pc = p;
    pc.setAttribute("id", new String("1") );
              pc.setAttribute("first_name",new String("Siddharth")); //,pc.SESSION_SCOPE);
              pc.setAttribute("last_name", new String("singh"));
    but in Jsp
    <td>
    <%=pageContext.getAttribute("first_name"); %>
    cause null is returing.
    Pls HELP me
    with regards
    Siddharth Singh

    First, there is no need to pass in the page context to the tag. It already is present. How you get to it depends on what type of tag:
    Using [url http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/api/javax/servlet/jsp/tagext/SimpleTagSupport.html]SimpleTagSupport
    public class MyTag extends SimpleTagSupport
      public void doTag()
        PageContext pc = (PageContext)getJspContext();
        pc.setAttribute("first_name", "Siddharth");
        pc.setAttribute("last_name", "Singh");
        pc.setAttribute("id", "1");
    }Using [url http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/api/javax/servlet/jsp/tagext/TagSupport.html]TagSupport or it's subclass [url http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/api/javax/servlet/jsp/tagext/BodyTagSupport.html]BodyTagSupport the page context is aleady declared as an implicit object:
    public class MyTag extends TagSupport
      public void doStartTag()
        pageContext.setAttribute("first_name", "Siddharth");
        pageContext.setAttribute("last_name", "Singh");
        pageContext.setAttribute("id", "1");
    }In each case, this sort of thing should work:
    <mytags:MyTag />
    <%= pageContext.getAttribute("first_name") %>I

  • Using groovy expressions to get a value of the current row

    Hi,
    I have a bounded task flow. The first step in the flow is calling an ExecuteWithParameters on one of my views. Based on the result of this query, I want to go to either Page1 or Page2.
    So I have a router. I first tried to route based on whether or not the result of the query contained only one row. That worked fine. But I want to add a condition to that.
    Basically, if the query returns one row AND that row has an attribute named 'Noc' == 1, then I want to go to Page2. Otherwise, go to Page 1.
    Right now to get the estimatedRowCount I am getting the iterator from the pageDef file created for my ExecuteWithParams object. To see if 'Noc' == 1, I tried this:
    #{data.rcl_view_reimbCode_search_results_task_flow_reimbCode_search_results_task_flow_ExecuteWithParamsPageDef.ReimbCodeSearchView1Iterator.currentRow.getAttribute("Noc") == 1}
    But it is complaining of grammar issues.
    What is the best way to go about getting the value of my attribute in a groovy expression?
    Thanks,
    Joel

    Hi,
    the best way is to use a managed bean reference
    1. create a binding for the router
    2. Expose the queried iterator in the PageDef file
    3. write a managed bean that accesses the binding
    BindingContext bctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
    BindingContainer bindings = bctx.getCurrentEntry();
    DCIteratorBinding iter = bindings.get("NameOfIterator");
    // i) get estimated row count
    // ii) get attribute value
    //iii) evaluate
    // iv) return true/false
    Reference the managed bean from the router

  • Tricky! Change of navi-attribute values in ABAP and use in selections

    Hi gurus,
    now I have a teaser that really keeps me busy, and which might be interesting for some of you:
    we use several statuses in our <u>Demand Planning in SCM 5.0</u>, some of which can be switched by using a user-function macro which just basically is a ABAP function module that <u>changes navigation attribute values directly on the database</u>, meaning in the master data tables of the respective characteristic.
    Now, the code works, the values are changed accordingly, leaving the data set in object status "active" - <b>BUT</b>:
    <i>when we call a selection, it still shows the old values, even after activating master data or running the attribute change run!</i>
    This is not what we expected. Our wish was, that once the table was updated with the correct field values, we would also see them in our selections.
    <u>Details:</u>
    we have two statuses as navi-attributes to an article:
    <i>DP:</i> YES/NO, and
    <i>oDP:</i> YES/NO
    Combinations originally are: <i>DP</i> YES/<i>oDP</i> NO
    After the status change macro, the table shows the following, as expected:
    <i>DP</i> NO/<i>oDP</i> YES
    As we have two selections, one on DP status "YES", the other one on oDP status "YES", we would like to see the article vanish in the first selection and show up in the other one...
    Does anybody have an idea what is wrong and what we can do to have to proper navi-attribute values from the master data table in the selection? Does the selection not read from the database but from a buffer?
    Looking forward to your answers,
    Klaus

    Hi Fabrice,
    yes indeed, I did check the object version, and it is A.
    Problem is, the function module changes the data record which is "A" anyway. So the changed data record is active - however, I just had a look at the SID master data table, and it looks that direct changes to the P-table do not affect the X-table where the SIDs are stored. So I guess I will also have to update the X-table with the correct SID-values.
    If this works, I let you know. We will be using this change by ABAP quite often, it is rather useful.
    Regards and thanks for your prompt reply,
    Klaus

  • Get the message attribute values in Orchestration without using property promotion

    I have the following schema :
    Now I want to get the values of FName,LName in orchestration without using any property promotion ?
    Prakash

    There are also multiple ways of creating the Xpath:
    - Full path with namespaces - Rahul Madaan showed this one
    - Full path without namespaces:
    FName = xpath(InputMessage, "string(/*[local-name()='Root']/*[local-name()='IntField'])");
    I think this method is handy if you have multiple schemas with similar structure  but the namespace
    changes. This is also easier to read and less prone to errors if there are any changes.
    If you for example wanted the node #3, then it would be
    FName = xpath(InputMessage, "string(/*[local-name()='Root']/*[local-name()='IntField'][3]/*[local-name()='IntSubField'])");
    - Jump directly to the field/node you need (this one works for at least xml elements):
     xpath(InputMessage, "string(//*[local-name()='IntField'])");
    I find this useful when picking up key-values from the message, that can be available only once.
    All the examples above are for elements. Since you are picking up value from an attribute, the actual structure
    is
    varFName = xpath(InputMessage,"string(/*[local-name()='StudentDetails']/*[local-name()='Student']/@*[local-name()='FName'])");
    And to learn the rest of the possibilities of Xpath, like count, different types, more detailed selections
    of the correct Node (Like example, I want only the one where FNAME = 'MyFName')  You can try something like: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/6944.biztalk-orchestrations-xpath-survival-guide.aspx
    Also get DanSharp XmlViewer. It will help you quite a bit when fine tuning the xpaths.

  • How to use SQL import to set the attribute value based on another?

    Hello all,
    I want to set an attribute of a dimension based on another attribute (if matches). Let's say I have a dimension PRODUCT. And I have defined two user defined attributes MANAGER and ISVISIBLE.
    Now within a PERMIT_READ program I want to set the ISIVISIBLE to true where the MANAGER Value is selected from a table.
    Something like
    <define a cursor c1 to select all the Manager values>
    sql import c1 into -
    :MATCHSKIPERR PRODUCT_MANAGER then <PRODUCT_ISVISIBLE (PRODUCT MANAGER) = true>
    <etc>
    Obviously the above is not correct. But I am stuck as to how this can be done? Can some one on this forum please help me with correct syntax/ approach please?
    Thanks a lot.
    Pxsheth
    This statement assigns true to the isvisible attribute for every gc_dim_bu dimension (selected as part of cursor c1).
    SO FAR SO GOOD.. NOW -
    If I want to change the above so that the attribute value gets assigned based on another attribute for the dimension (say a flag). i.e.
    Set the isvisible to true where attribute flag has a certain value. How do I code this in OLAP DML?

    There are a number of ways to do this. If you want to use an attribute that has been defined within AWM as an attribute of Product then simply using the mapping tool to populate the attribute as part of the normal dimension load procedure.
    Alternatively you could create an attribute at the DML level, and assuming you are not using surrogate keys, you can then define a cursor to read the relational table to populate your attribute. Something like this:
    sql declare MKT_BASKET cursor for -
    select PRODUCT_ID, PROD_MGR , PROD_VISIBLE -
    from PRODUCT_DIM
    if SQLCODE ne 0
    then goto ERROR
    sql open MY_CURSOR
    sql fetch MY-CURSOR loop into :append PRODUCT, :PRODUCT_MANAGER, :PRODUCT_ISVISIBLE
    sql close MY_CURSOR
    sql cleanup
    update
    commit
    If you want to create a complex PERMIT function using OLAP DML then personally I would create a formula and assign a program of type BOOLEAN and have the program return a YES or NO depending on the outcome of your test. Then your PERMIT_READ still references a dimension object. For example:
    DEFINE PROD.ISVISIBLE BOOLEAN FORMULA <PRODUCT>
    EQ PRG.ISVISIBLE(PRODUCT)
    DEFINE PRG.ISVISBLE PROGRAM BOOLEAN
    The program will then return Yes or No depending on the processing you need to do.
    Hope this helps
