Using skin from adf library

Hi all,
I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.
Is there a way to use different skins in imported application as adf lib from main application?
For example, when I go to views from main application it will use its own skin, but when I go to views from imported adf library I want it to use skin imported with adf lib.

Hi,
at runtime you can switch easily. At design time you need to have the skin in the project to show it in JDeveloper. Here skins in ADF library don't work

UI Shell with BTF from ADF library issue

I've created an application component (Bounded Task Flow) wrapped in an ADF library for reuse. I am able to import this into "normal" ADF applications and place it on a page as a Region. Works as expected and looks good.
I'm attempting to add this to a page based on the UIShell template and am getting an exception on startup:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: The expression "#{bindings.emmain1.regionModel}" (that was specified for the RegionModel "value" attribute of the region component with id "r1") evaluated to null.
This is typically due to an error in the configuration of the objects referenced by this expression.
If it helps, the expression "#{bindings.emmain1}" evaluates to "null".
If it helps, the expression "#{bindings}" evaluates to "oracle_demo_uist3_view_view1PageDef". Now using an empty RegionModel instead.

The designer shows the UI as expected so I'm assuming something is not configured correctly for runtime (duh!), but I cannot figure out what it is.
I've tried referencing the task flow directly from the navigation bean and wrapping the external BTF in a local BTF and navigating to that. Neither works.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Change the launcher bean to call the imported ADF Library bounded task flow to open it as an activity within one of the dynamic tabs. This is done by referencing the correct task-flow.xml file.

Externalize the Skin from ADF Faces project

I have a requirement, where we don't want to bundle Skin(CSS, adf-faces-skins.xml, adf-faces-config.xml files) with the web project. Which would help us to add new skin or change the existing skins.
I see the CSS file name is different when it renders in the final HTML page. If my file name is 'sni.css' and it is kept in folder 'Web Content/css' but in the output html('/adf/styles/cache/sni-desktop-10_1_3_3_0-en-ie-6-windows-s.css'). How does the name changes here?
We do this in our old framework by putting CSS files in Web Server. Can we do similiar thing in ADF Faces to externalize the styles? Overriding Faces Listeners or by any other way?
Similiarly want to externalize images, adf-faces-skins.xml and adf-faces-config.xml also.

We created a external skin project. WebSkin.war. In this project we put every thing (images, ccs, etc).
In the others Web projects, into our jsp files we added this line on the header.
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="/WebSkin/common/skins/<%=styleBean.getStyleName()%>/screen.css" />
And (of course) getStyleName give us the current Skin Name (blue, purple, etc)
But (nothing is perfect).. we are using JBOSS as application server, we didn't test that solution on other platform.
I hope is not to late ...

How to use JMediaPane from JMC library

I actually try to use the JMediaPane component from jmc library with javafx.
I read with jmc we can run many type of movie formats.
But i have some issues...

I think you have to integrate javafx with swing and than u can add JmediaPane to fxPanel

controls within the area of my flv movie.
The flvplayback is too large with the boarders and the fact
that the progress/control bar is placed outside of the movie area.

Erasing unused, (never-to-be-used) images from the Library. How, please?

Is there a way to Globally-Delete a subset of, or all of, the images in the Library? I want to erase all images that are NOT being used in a Album, Slideshow, or Book.
I take many near-duplicate shots and later select only one or two for use. The accumulated never-to-be used images are becoming overwhelming. doing it manually will take many hours and there is no way to be sure that a Library image is not used in a Album, Slideshow or Book...at least that I am aware of.
I really do not need to keep 8445+ images in the Library

Make a smart album - album is not any
and delete from there in groups of 100 or so emptying the iPhoto trash for each group - command-option-delete deletes photos from the library while you are in an album -- or you can flag 100 or so and control-option-delete deletes flagged photos

Using music from iTunes library to accompany slideshow

Hi
I would like to be able to use music from my iTunes library to accompany a slideshow in iPhoto 6. However, when I try to do this, all I can see is a small icon saying 'iTunes' but nothing happend when I click it...
Can anyone tell me how to get round this?

Generating a report from RTF template using WSDL from ADF

I am a newbie to ADF-BIP integration.
I am using the wsdl http://<<ip>>:<<port>>/xmlpserver/services/PublicReportService?WSDL for generating a report from RTF Template in ADF.
We are using Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher Release 11g (11.1.1) and JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.5.0).
I have a couple of merge variables in my RTF template and I am passing these variable using Report Request parameters.
below is code I added for creating the report request.
First I created publicReportService using webservice proxy.

Using UDFs from gloabl library

Hi Experts,
I have used in my mapping some UDFs which I have referred from the local namespace (like local UDF Library) , now I want to use the same UDF from a Global Namespace . And suppose this UDF is used more than once in my target message fields in different context, so in that case shall I need to change all of this mapping where the local.UDF is used to Global.UDF manually? is there any short way to change this quickly?
for e.g---
Source field- Name
Target Filed- Detail name
UDF- check
Name--> Local.check--
> Detail name
now this needs to be changed as Global.check for the target filed.
P.S I am concern with changing the UDF location, in both of the location (Local and Global ) same UDFs are written.

You have to change it manually at each of the places it were used...
As an alternative, you can export the mapping file to .mte & change it the references appropraitely & re-import the mapping file...

If it is only at 5-6 places, i will do it manually. But for more than 7 i will export inot .mte & then import it..

Why can't I just use songs from my library as ringtones?

If iTunes is so fundamental to the iPhone even being able to be turned on and iTunes already has a built in function to limit any song to any snippet of time shouln't it be a simple call to the same underlying iTunes function to play a song (possibly with a parameter of how long/start and stop points since apparently the mpr files are only like 45 seconds long) to have the iPhone play a song for a ring tone? Haven't we already paid for the right to play the song once off iTunes why should we have to pay it again to buy a ringtone? And why do the ringtones still cost $1 if they aren't even the full song?

There is a technical reason... because that feature is not built into the phone. As for why, no-one here can comment on that.

The SAX parser provided with WLS doesn't support the required feature for using Apache xmlrpc.
You need to substitute a different SAX parser in your project (don't ask me how, I have no idea) - Google would have told you this.
You can perhaps try asking on the WLS forum.

ADF Library problem...

Hi all,
I hope someone can help me with this. I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2
I have an application with three projects, two models and a view controller,
I have business components (Entity Objects) in the first model project deployed to an ADF library which i added to the second model project by creating a new file connection referencing the jar file. This initially worked fine, and in the second model project, I was able to create view objects using the entity object referenced from the ADF library jar file, with LOV's also referencing view objects which are in the ADF library jar file.
Once I exit jdeveloper and restart however, any attempt to open the view object xml file in the second model project results in the following errors

It's as if jdeveloper "forgets" the ADF library reference once the IDE is closed.
I looked in the Jar file, and all the objects are actually there. the model.jpx files in all the projects are named differently so there is no conflict there. I have tried multiple ways of adding the ADF library
From the IDE connections
From project properties->business components-> import
From model.jpx properties-> import
From file menu->import
and as soon as you reload the ide... all the references to objects in the jar file stop working
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a solution to this?

Found it...
My Mistake.
I had created the view object in a package that was used by objects in the ADF library, apparently that's not right. Once a package is used in an ADF library, a consuming project is should not (though nothing stops you, and the error message is not very informative) create objects in the same package. It might help if an warning was raised as soon as the view object was created.

Is there a way to use music from multiple users itunes libraries on one iMac for a slideshow in Aperture?

I am trying to put together a slide show for a trip my wife and I took to England. I would like to be able to use music from both our itunes libraries in the slide show. I am using Aperture to create the slide show since it seems to be more versatile than iPhoto for this. Only trouble is that when I log into my username on the iMac I only see my iTunes library and similar when logging into her username. We have different music but would like to use some from each library in the slide show.

You can only use one library at a time in an Aperture slideshow, so I'd suggest to simply collect the audio that you want to use in a folder (export the songs from both iTunes Libraries) and then import this folder to Aperture. Now you have a project containing the audio files; you will see it in the Aperture Audio section of the audio Browser, right above the iTunes section.
You can use the Apperture audio just like the audio in iTunes to drag to the timeline of your slideshow.

Menu Templates missing from the library

I am a member of the new Creative cloud. I have downloaded and installed the CS6 applications including Encore. I went to use items from the "Library" only to find that there are none. I have since discovered that these "Library" Sets and Items are found on the Media Disk when you buy a retail box set. One of the training videos on Lynda.com suggests one can download these library items.
Does anybody know where I can find the download page for them?

I wonder if the MOD's can do something to join all these Library Threads?
I can see potential problems with such, but to have a half-dozen (or maybe more) such threads, with mostly the same responses, is a bit tough to follow.
It would seem that new posters, with the same exact problems, would Reply to one of the existing threads, rather than start a new one, where they will only get links to all of the other threads.
