Using SRW Package - Help

Hello All,
I've designed web based reports having a web layout. The user usually navigates from one report to another by way of ">

I'm aware of reports being opened,errors captured,messages displed & programs aborted using the various srw packages when called from inside a program unit.
Is there a way to call a program unit when the user clicks on a particular field which is supposed to be a link to another report instead of the above mentioned hyperlink method. Like for instance we have a formatTrigger for calling a program unit written for manipulating the format of the output.

Hello,
Web Layout only exists in Reports versions >= 9.0.2. In these versions, the object "Button" no more exists.
When the output is displayed, the reports execution is terminated, so it is not possible to call a program unit when the user click on a field.
In the Reports Online Help:
Note: The ability to create a button in the Paper Layout view is no longer supported in Oracle Reports 10g. Use hyperlinks instead. If you open an existing report that contains buttons, the buttons will be converted into text items.

Using SRW package to send a report via email

Hi,
Please can someone please help me resolve this issue I have been facing in using the srw package
I have configured a report server and was trying to use the srw package to send a report out to our customers when there is an update on a particular table.
I have succesfully use this same procedure to generate the same report to an output file and it was ok but anytime I try to generate the report as a mail and send to a DESNAME, i get mail server unavailable.
Below is the procedure i try to execute:

Please can someone help me with this. I can connect to the mail server using the telnet mailservername port,i get a 220 message with ***** .
I have updated d report configuration file with the mailserver name, and d proxyinfo.xml too.I put it to bypass proxy for d mail server address and also inlclude the proxy ip and port.

Help finding and using a package

hi guyz,
Iam new to this forum and i need this info urgently. so plz try to help me.
I want to use the package below in an applet to convert my TemporaryRegistrationPermit to create a PNG file and then print it.
how can i get the above package. I searched a lot on net and even on IBM website but never found it. How can i get it and include the class file in an applet and use the methods in it.Is there any other way to include this package in my applet, i mean a URL pointing to this class file.

How do you know you need this package ? You know the path to it, so you must have seen it referenced somewhere.
Some background please, but it sounds like it's an IBM internal class of some sort, so I wouldn't get your hopes up unless you have legitimate access to this or know it to be freely available.

SRW package not working in Reports 10g (9.0.4)

Dear All,
I am using reports services 10g (9.0.4) for RHEL o/s.we are using SRW pkg in our reports heavily.But when we compile reports in Linux it is showing errors like SRW.message ,SRW.set_field_char,SRW.set_format_mask must be declared.
Though these functions are well written in reports help,it is not at all supporting these functions.
What is solution for this for successfull compilation of reports??

Your not seeing the built in package for some reason.
Maybe they are missing on your Linux machine.
Reinstall reports there? Examing your environment variables?
Is that rwrun.jar anywhere?

SRW Package in Reports 2.5

I am having trouble running SRW.RUN_REPORT from batch mode in PL/SQL. First of all, I'm having trouble locating the SRW package that is standard in Reports 2.5, in order to to create the package. Do I need to locate the Version 2.5 disk and try a reinstall? Or is it as simple as creating a Public Synonym?
The PL/SQL code is: SRW.RUN_REPORT (module=mname batch=yes....
The Error is: "module" must be declared.
This tells me that the SRW package is not known. Else it would not ask me to make a declaration of the keyword "module". Big Thanks to anyone who can help.

What are the default location for log files,trace for forms server and reports server in weblogic.That depends on which Reports Server you are using (Standalone or Inprocess). Here are the locations for both:

Error while sending a mail using UTP_MAIL package in Oracle 10g

We are using UTP_MAIL package to send a mail from Oracle 10g.We have follwed the following steps ...

From your own posting you may have the clue, if you try to access your mail server through telnet and it is not successful, it means the service is down or there are networking issues.
On pre 10gR2 versions there was a bug 4083461.8. It could affect you if you are on 10gR1
"Bug 4083461 - UTL_SMTP.OPEN_CONNECTION in shared server fails with ORA-29278 Doc ID: Note:4083461.8"
This was fixed on 10gR2 base and on 9.2.0.8.0

You can, yes. That's why CAN_REDEF_TABLE and START_REDEF_TABLE both have an OPTIONS_FLAG argument that lets you specify whether you want to use the primary key or the ROWID to redefine the table.

Error logging using DBMS_ERRLOG package

We have following tables, which are growing day-by-day and giving performance problems.
There are total 25 tables (1 parent and 24 child tables, with different structures).
Here i gave some Samples, NOT actual table structures.
Actually we don't require all the data for our regular activities.
So we thought of moving part of the data into Other (Archive) tables, on daily basis.
Using SOME criteria, we are finding eligible records to be moved into Archive tables.
All child records follows the Parent.

In production, we may require to archive 25000 Parent records and 25000*4*3 child records per day.
Now the problem is:
By any chance, if record fails, We want to know the Exact record ,just "c_id" for the particular table
where the error raised and Error message.
We thought of using DBMS_ERRLOG package, but we CAN NOT log errors of Different tables into SINGLE error log table.
In the above case It require 3 Different tables and it logs all columns from the original table.
It's a un-necessary burden on the database.
We would be very glad, if anyone can help us with some good thought.

Using Oracle Packages in Oracle BI EE

I am trying to replicate old Discoverer reports in Oracle BI EE. In the old Discoverer reports, they would include the package and function information in the SELECT statement of the SQL. When I try to import the database information in BI EE, I can only get table and view information, not the packages. How do you access and use Oracle packages in BI EE? If you have OBIEE 10.1.3.3 OBIEE you can use BI built-in EVALUATE function to call user-defined functions in database.
This function is intended for scalar and analytic calculations.
Syntax: EVALUATE('DB_Function(%1)', <Comma separated Expression>)

well, the spatial api would not be able to handle this data anymore, so what you are trying to do is converting an SDO_GEOMETRY to some cryptable user type (see http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/d_crypto.htm#sthref1506) and encrypting this.
Before using the SDO_GEOMETRY type will have to decrypt and reconvert it again and pass it to the spatial query or function.

Error while using Copy Package

I want to copy data from category BudgetV1 to BudgetV2,
I have tried to use Copy Package but I always get error with
error message "The file is empty".

Please check if you have data in category BudgetV1. This error normally occurs when there is no data in source specified in COPY package. Make sure to select appropriate members when you specify other source dimensions.

i am trying to implement File_to_Mail Scanrio. Here i am using mail package stuff to make use the dynamic mail Id's. i am following the blog /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/07/mail-adapter-xi--how-to-implement-dynamic-mail-address. i have finished all the settings as per the blog but it throwing the following error
failed to send mail: com.sap.aii.messaging.util.XMLScanException: expecting start tag: Mail, but found Mail at state 1
Please help me to resolve this error.
