Using text as a hyperlink to call a program (Notepad)

I am making a About Dialog which contains some text.
A small part of the text must be a hyperlink (blue and underlined). When clicked, Notepad must open with the license agreement.
This I will do, nothing else (no discussion on this).
But how to do it?
I could overwrite paint method of the JDialog, but I cannot use easily underlined text with g.drawString...
Next I had the idea of using JLabels. But it would be a lot of assembling the labels and configuring the layout manager.
Then I thought about using subclass of Document with a JTextPane. But I don't know if I can use hyperlinks that way for my purpose.
What do you think about the three ideas, or do you have a solution?

The labels idea seems like the simplest to me. I know there's a way to do hyperlinks in an HTMLEditorPane (don't know if this is exactly the right classname) but it isn't simple, and I have no experience with it myself. I really like your idea of displaying the licence agreement in Notepad though, it gives the licencee a chance to modify it before agreeing to it. Other licences I have agreed to are so rigid, they don't let you change anything.

For printing the text directly on the formm the text element in form wud be as
/E ITEM_HEADER
MH Quantity,,,,Description,,UOM,,Net Weight,,Gross Weight
If you have variable define in the driver prog and you want to display,text elt. wud be as
/E ITEM LINE
MH &CONF_OUT-ATBEZ&,,&CONF_OUT-ATWTB&
where CONF_OUT is a structure with fields ATBEZ and ATWTB
MH is the paragraph format

I have created a tutorial on how to setup domain name masking using cpanel and other popular web hosting control panels.
You need to edit the zone file settings in the Web Host Manager of Cpanel (WHM) a very popular web hosting control panel.
Main > DNS Functions > Edit DNS Zone > Choose Zone to Edit

Anyone who used WordPerfect remembers their macros--atimesaving "mini-program" (I think they called it) so you wouldn't have to retype often-used text like your name, address, phone number. How do I do this in Firefox?

I'm sure Firefox has a shortcut so I don't have to retype often-used text over and over again (like my name, address, phone #).
If anyone remembers using WordPerfect, "macros" was their tool for accomplishing this.

Firefox does have what is called "Form Autocomplete". It remembers frequently used form entries (such as a name), and suggests them next time you fill out a form.

Using text links to open accordion panel

How do I use text links (from the page's main menu) to
programatically open a particular panel.

Not really. The problem is that you have attempted to create
a
JavaScript object called accordion1 before the accordion HTML
is even
loaded into the browser. Moreover, the script that
initializes the
accordion is already in your HTML where it should be (after
the
accordion), but it uses Accordion1, not accordion1
(JavaScript is
case-sensitive.
Remove this after your menu.

RFC error text: timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'

I am having this error pop up very frequently on some new SAP systems. This will randomly happen and keep us from being able to release transports and import them in STMS. I receive the following error:
There was an attempt to start the transport control program tp using the local RFC interface.
An error occurred here.
Error code: 4
RFC error text: timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'
- When I check the Transport Tool (STMS: import queue> check> transport tool) I get the following information:

All of these errors are only pointing to a time out. I cannot figure out why this is happening. I checked the TMS RFC connection in SM59 and they are fine. I have been able to work around this issue in 2 different ways. First, I can delete the files in the "\trans\tmp" directory on the server. Sometimes this resolves the error. Else I have to restart the system.
I need to understand where this issue is coming from and how to resolve it. It is becoming more and more frequent. Thank you for your help!

i have had similar issues during this week. After looking for a solution everywhere i found out that i didn't set up the FQDN on this system.
Symptoms were:
se38 > RSTPTEST timed out sometimes(not always)
sm59 > TCP/IP connections > CALLTP_WindowsNT > test connections timed out sometimes (again, not always)
STMS Overview > Systems: I was not always able to distribute and activate configuration from the Domain controller via Extras > Distribute and Activate Configuration (it died on the mentioned system)
Transports failed mostly with the same error.
The error log was somewhere deep in ST11. It could not resolve our FQDN.
The solution, for me, was to add our FQDN to the WINDIR\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file.
We upgraded the kernel as well (from 7.20 patch 046 to most current) but this didn't help.
The FQDN is a concatenation of computer name and dns suffix of the network (if you have none, you can add one via rightclick on the used network adapter>ipv4>properties>Advanced>DNS tab, so in the end the host file looked like
127.0.0.1 localhost computer-name.ourSuffix.com
After this line has been added, the error stopped and the transports work again.

   When i created a text symbol in my assistance class and provided it to my attribute via the set attribute method it is not working. Is there a different way of using Text Symbols or Text Elements
compared to normal ABAP Programming.

I have a hyperlink in a grid panel. I am using
hyperlink1.setText("Hello"); in prerender(),
but the Hyperlink shows up with the text "Hyperlink", whereas I was expecting "Hello". However,
hyperlink1.setUrl("http://www.usf.edu"); works as expected.
I tried nesting a static text in the hyperlink as suggested in the Creator guide (ed 2, Google project). I deleted the "Hyperlink" text in the properties editor but then the page turned out blank.

How can I use Text-Elements in Dynpro Buttons ?

Hello Experts,
I have create a dynpro screen with the screen-painter.
In this screen have a button, in which label i want to use defined textelements.
This has the advantage that i can expand it to other languages.
The screen is an standard screen.
In the Button i have to try using &&Text-001&& , but it doesn't show me the contain of Text-001 .
It show me &&Text-001&& as label in the button.
How can I do ?
Which possibilties are existing ?

In button attributes select output field . Then in program define a vairable for the button with the same name and assign the text element to it before screen is displayed.
data: button(10) type c. "your button name
button = text-001.
call screen 100.

Name of column using text variable in Query Designer

I have 3 columns with amounts, 1 characteristic value variable and 1 text variable.
For example, names of this columns - 2005 year, 2006 year, 2005/2006.
I fill names using only one text variable and I can call first 2 column. I use set offset of variables for second column.
How can I call third column ''2005/2006"?

u need a second Text varaible and u need to correct your existing text variable.
Prerequisite: u need for your key figures the same KF-variable
1. Edit your existing text variable lets say its called &Text1&
2. Select your Text variable and go to tab "replacement path"
3. Choose a) InfoObject b) Choose key
4. In section "use value range" choose from value
5. Create a new text variable lets call it &Text2&
6. make exact the same settings as for your first text variable butchoose for "value range" to value
Now u use this text variables for your KF:
KF 1 -> &Text1&
KF 2 -> &Text1&
KF 3 -> &Text1& / &Text2&
This should make it!!

go to Se38 -
> Write Name of the Program - > Click Change button - > Then go to GoTo on Menu Bar--> text Elements
> Select Text Symbol
In First Column( Sym) Write any Number which is not used like 001, 002.....
In Second Column (Text) write in text or description .... like Sales Order....
U can use this text Symbol in code -

What do you mean that you can't "call" an iPad in the UK?? That doesn't particularly make sense. You can email to an iPad or text them, but the iPad is not a phone, so how do you expect to "call" them??

SDK-17893 - TextGraphic inside of a mask causes RTE
When the mask is added, we weren't yet creating the displayObject which the TextGraphic class relies upon. The solution is to call validateProperties on the mask before calling validateSize.
In addition, the mask wasn't getting applied to the Group because we weren't setting an internal flag.
QE Notes: Test masking on both Graphic elements and Group.
Doc Notes: We need to note that if you use TextGraphic as a mask, you must set maskType = "alpha"

Does Illustrator do the same
thing? If not, you will have to join/add the paths
for each letter before exporting as an SVG file.
Sometimes Illustrator groups paths rather than
creating a single composite path, so you may have to
mess with it a bit. Hope that helps.
In Illustrator you can make a compound path with all the letters selected, or use the pathfinder (one of the coolest things in the latest versions)
When orginally outlines, text is grouped together, and each letter is it's own compound path.
(for those of you wondering, a compound path can have a cutout or more than one path. I've used it for a few upcoming themes and templates, and it works very, very well.)
I should mention that editing a compound path with a cutout section will remove the cutout section. Can't stress that enough.

Dropped characters using text tool.

Occasionally, when I type a string using the text line tool, Frame will drop a chacter when the screen is refreshed. Most of the time it is the first character, such as it will change "Callout" to "allout"; less often it is somewhere else. If the string is only one character, the grab handles are there where the character should be. If it's a longer string and the first character is dropped, the left-end grab handles are adjacent to the first visible character, giving the appearance there never was that first character. I forgot what happens if it drops a character in the middle.
If the text string is a single character, it disappears but its grab handles are there.
It happens sometimes on a Control+l refresh, or sometimes when I move the string's position with the mouse.
I'm using Windows XP and Win 7 in Parallels, everything with latest patches. The font is Myriad Pro Semicondensed (Adobe's OTF). I tried different fonts but it happens so rarely that I can't really tell if the font was the fix or if it simply didn't show up. Problem is that the font specs are called out by the customer.
Anyone see this?

If you didn't change FM versions or apply a patch, I agree. Weird.

TFs are worth the small amount of extra work. Graphics Text is severely limiting, entirely apart from bugs.
TFs get you global Paragraph Formats, Character Formats, Variables, Xrefs, search, etc.
We do callouts as Xrefs - massively easier to maintain on the shifting sands of part changes and any need to add more c/os to the same figure.

OSB & xquery: when use text() or data(...)

I'm a beginner on xquery and I'm wondering when use text() or data(...).
For example I've this simple xml document:

for retrieving attribute value I have to use data(/book/price/@currency)
but for for retrieving tag value I've two possibilities:/book/price/text() or data(/book/price)
Are those two expressions the same ? Or ones is evaluated faster than the others ?

Text() - always returns the String.
data() - accepts a sequence of items and returns their typed values (return type is xs:anyAtomicType). Calling this function is often unnecessary because the typed value of a node is extracted automatically (in a process known as atomization) for many XQueryXPath 2.0 expressions, including comparisons, arithmetic operations and function calls. The most common use case for the fn:data function is in XQuery element constructors.
