Using WSDL generated control in a PageFlow

I just created a Service Control using a WSDL file and then generated a page flow
from that control. When I run the page flow, everything seems fine, but for the
results I see
ServiceControls.testControl$getXXXResult@7d4cb2
instead of the XML string. I tried adding a "toString()" to where the result variable
that is being displayed in the index.jsp that shows the value above, but it did
not help.
Thoughts?
Thanks

Kunal,
I have tried this and it works fine. I assume in your case what is happening
is, that you are tying to do a toString() on the complex object var.
I tried with a sample Web Service which accepts a complex type Customer and
was able to get the string value for both fname and lname.
My jcx file
public interface testComplexControl extends
com.bea.control.ControlExtension, com.bea.control.ServiceControl
public static class Name implements java.io.Serializable
public java.lang.String fname;
public java.lang.String lname;
* @jc:protocol form-post="false" form-get="false"
public Name testMethod (Name nm);
static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
My controller file.
public Forward testMethod( TestMethodForm aForm )
throws Exception
myfolder.testComplexControl.Name var = myControl.testMethod(
aForm.nm );
getRequest().setAttribute( "results", var );
System.out.println("fname value "+var.fname);
System.out.println("lname value "+var.lname);
System.out.println("Name value "+var.toString());
return new Forward( "success" );
public static class TestMethodForm extends FormData
private myfolder.testComplexControl.Name nm;
public void reset( org.apache.struts.action.ActionMapping mapping,
javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest request )
{this.nm = new Name();}
public void setNm( myfolder.testComplexControl.Name nm )
{this.nm = nm;}
public myfolder.testComplexControl.Name getNm()
{return nm;}
Hope this helps.

  • Woes wiring up an ejb to use a database control

    first my question & then background:
    how do i wire up an ejb to use a database control jcx object so that the dbcontrol is instantiated at runtime?
    here's the scene:
    i created a java page flow from a database control & this works correctly, but i also need to be able to expose some of the functionality to another deployed application. this application, incidentally is not a workshop application; but rather is a hand-coded war.
    the first application (a workshop app) renders forms that use a database control to persist the data. it only uses one table & therefore, there is only one pojo. as i mentioned, this resides in web project & works correctly. i abstracted my dbcontrol & my pojo to a separate java controls project & built this as a library. the jpf still has no problems seeing the dbcontrol.
    there is a second application (a non workshop app) that needs to be able to use a method provided by the dbcontrol. i created an ejb in a third project in the first application that makes the call to dbcontrol in the exact same way that the jpf did. but i am finding, however, that the dbcontrol is null whenever the ejb makes the call to it's method.
    here's the more detailed design:
    i started with a database control. i mapped to my datasource, wrote out the sql for the methods i wanted & generated the pageflow from this. i rewrote the pageflow/jsps to suit my needs & everything just works. i did notice at the time that i generated the page flow that the dbcontrol was never instantiated. here is a snippet of the jpf:
    <pre>
    public class SiteAlertMessageManagementController extends PageFlowController {
    * This is the control used to generate this pageflow
    * @common:control
    private SiteAlertMessageDBControl dbControl;
    public Forward getCurrentMessage() {
    SiteAlertMessage currentMessage = dbControl.getCurrentMessage();
    </pre>
    because SiteAlertMessageDBControl is an interface, i assumed that the '@common:control' annotation told weblogic what it needed to know in order to instantiate a runtime class of time SiteAlertMessageDBControl. because it just worked, i never questioned this.
    with the form read/write functionality complete, i assumed i could quickly wrap an ejb around the dbcontrol method & be done with it. i soon realized that i could not create an ejb inside a web project & that an ejb project would not have classpath visibility to my dbcontrol & pojo, so i put the dbcontrol & the pojo into a java control project & made a library out of this. i double checked that the web project could see the classes in the library & they could.
    so i created a separate ejb project that also could now see the classes in the library. i thought i was in the home stretch. i now have these projects in my first application:
    administrationControls, administrationWeb, & administrationEjb. i moved the administrationControls.jar & the administrationEjb.jar over to the WEB-INF/lib directory of my (remember: non-workshop) war & wired up the code to pull the bean off jndi tree to make the rmi call. but it didn't work. so i backtracked & created a new jsp back in my workshop project that would make the same rmi call so that i could use the debugger. with this as the background, here is my specific problem.
    what i noticed is that the ejb code itself works correctly. i guess i should show it as well.
    <pre>
    public class SiteAlertMessagesAPI extends GenericSessionBean implements SessionBean {
    * This is the control used to generate this pageflow
    * @common:control
    private SiteAlertMessageDBControl dbControl;
    public void ejbCreate() {
    // Your code here
    * @ejbgen:remote-method
    public SiteAlertMessage getCurrentMessage() throws Exception {
    SiteAlertMessage message = null;
    try {
    // dbControl is null here
    message = dbControl.getCurrentMessage();
    catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    return message;
    </pre>
    the problem is that my dbControl object is null. what i did was cut & paste the code from the jpf over to my bean. like i stated earlier, i assumed that the annotation would tell weblogic to instantiate an instance. this was obviously not the case. incidentally, i rewrote my ejbCreate() method like this:
    <pre>
    public void ejbCreate() {
    // Your code here
    dbControl = new SiteAlertMessageDBControl();
    </pre>
    but workshop gives me a "error: this type is abstract and thus cannot be instantiated" warning.
    my question is: how do i wire up an ejb to use a database control jcx object so that the dbcontrol is instantiated at runtime?
    any light you could shed on this would be most appreciated. thanks,

  • How can I use LabView to control Altera Scripting

    Hi
    I have kind of run into a stone wall. I am building a production test executive based on LabView. Part of this process includes loading an FPGA image on to a CFI flash that is in the JTAG chain. I am trying to make so that the production operators don't have to open a second application, select the right FPGA and Flash navigate to the file then load it, then go back to LabView and run the rest of the tests.
    Altera has a command line interface that will let me load .cdf file.  The problem is that nowhere in Altera’s documentation does it show me how to first load the “Parallel Flash Loader IP” into the FPGA. The flash loader acts as a temporary bridge between the JTAG input and the CFI Flash.  I have looked on Altera’s Forums and have had an open ticket with Altera’s support engineers for more than a week.
    I can’t be the first person to want to do this; I am hoping someone here has done it before. I would really rather not try to use the activeX controls to manipulate the windows based program.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (Note I am not trying to put LV code on the FPGA/Flash just use LV to control the process)
    Thanks in advance
    Below is the error message and the script I am using. It almost works just missing the flash loader IP

    Hi Eric,
    I got it figured out today, basically you have to load the Parallel Flash Loader first into FPGA ram. It is a special .sof file (pfl_epXXXX.sof) based on your FPGA. Code is actually pretty straight forward, using the Sys Exec VI. Use the windows based programmer to generate the .cdf file that identifies your FPGA, attached Flash and .pof file .
    Syntax was odd going into Sys Exec. Note the extra "C" in in front of the "quartus_prm.exe" I have no idea why that was needed, but I was getting an error until I just happened to put it in there (Blind Luck :-))
    I used a 2 element array going into a four loop
    cmd /cquartus_pgm.exe -c USB-BLASTER -m JTAG -o P;pfl_epXXXX.sof
    cmd /cquartus_pgm.exe -c USB-BLASTER -m JTAG S_FPGA.cdf
    Defining the working director C:\altera\12.1sp1\qprogrammer\bin
    And added match string with "Successfully performed operation" on the output in the loop to make sure everything loaded correctly then adding the array to give me a overall P/F
    To anyone doing this same thing Altera's documentation is poor to say the least. It took most of a week to figure this out Not allowed to upload code, so anyone wanting details just post here and I will try to help. This was painful, with lots of lessons learned.
    Thanks for the interest though
    Best regards John

  • Is it possible to use BAPI-ALE to send an idoc using the message control?

    Hi Guys
    Is it possible to use BAPi-ALE to send an IDOC using a message control?
    I have configured the system to send an IDOC when a outbound delivery is saved in the system.
    I have done the following.
    1). I am using the std BAPI-ALE interface provided by the object type LIKP.
    2). I am using the method SAVEREPLICA for which an interface already exists in BDBG transaction.
    3). I hace created a distribution model in BD64 and added the BAPI - LIKP and SAVEREPLICA
    4). Created a partner profile ( using the generate partner profile option in the BD64 transaction )
    QUESTION:
    1). How do i associate the custom OUTPUT type created for Delivery ?
    2). I tried to associate the custom output type in the Partner profile definition under the message control tab but i am not sure which Process code to be used? Since the partner profile was generated automatically from BD64 it has an entry for SHP_OBDLV_SAVE_REPLICA as a message type in the outbound parameters. and i am unable to find a process code for this Message type in WE41. So what process code should i use in the Message control tab against the custom output type?
    3). Do i need to leave the message control tab empty without making any entry? If yes then how would the system come to know that it needs to trigger this partner profile when the custom output type is proposed by the system?

  • How to generate control limits in control chart

    I want to generate a X bar chart with control limits, sample size is Fix- 1.
    SPC criterion I selected is 020 ie Task List characteristics/ Material.
    1)Sampling Procedure I used- Fixed-1
    2)Valuation mode I used- Attrib non conforming units/ manual.
    3)Control chart I am using is 110- Shewart chart for X bar.
    But when I click for control limits in chart it is saying control limits for track 1 could not be calculated.
    Could anyone guide me, how to generate control limits for this graph. Sammple size will alwyas be 1.
    Please let me know should I change control chart type in this case.

    Hi Jaison,
    You should use valuation mode - SPC valuation in sampling procedure.
    Also you have to use sampling procedure with inspection points.
    as practically every hour or depending on the frequency decided we collect the measurements and calculate the SPC.
    now after correction in the sampling procedure create new inspection lot and check SPC.
    try out and revert.

  • Using UCM data controls in ADF application

    Using *.6 Jdeveloper/UCM/Protal Application/UCM
    Calling all the experts in Webcenter/Spaces/UCM/ADF.
    We have a requirement to design search inteface for Documents stored in UCM for Webcenter Portal and Spaces application.
    Our approach is
    Design simple ADF application (no security/templates)
    Bounded task flows using fragments.
    Framents to use UCM data controls (provided by oracle)
    UCM data control definition is extended to use custom metadata.
    package the application.
    Added as ADF library jar to portal application
    Added as Shared Library to Spaces application.
    Question.
    Is this approach sound?
    Does UCM data controls provide all the functionality, for example if we want to read a option list for custom metadata or need custom metadata in return table?
    Can we add other methods to UCM data control provided by Oracle or should we create different one?
    Is there good documentation for such requirements. We have acces Webcenter developers guide which throws some light on UCM data controls.
    Let me know if more clarity is needed...
    Regards

    Hi.
    One of my last components was a custom "Document Explorer" and I used for first time JCR Data Control (Custom UCM Data Control provided by Oracle).
    Sharing my experience I did something similar to you:
    1) Create a ADF Bounded Task Flow and test it individually.
    2) Add generated ADF JAR Library to WebCenter Spaces shared-lib.
    3) Add your Task Flow to Resource Catalog.
    Challenges that I found using custom Data Control:
    1) When items retrieved are content/files all custom metadata can be retrieved OOTB.
    2) When retrieving folders don't provide custom metadata like files. I used RIDC with JCR Data Control to provide all the information relative to folders. If you don't need more information about folders than the name, URI and icons then is OK :).
    3) Using JCR Data Control registers in DataControls.dcx UCM Connection name used when generate JCR Data Control. After deploy your ADF JAR Library in WebCenter Spaces you'll have problems if you don't have a WebCenter Content Connection created with the same name. (Not talking about export UCM Connection with ADF JAR Library, Data Control uses a Connection name by itself :)).
    I added extra functionallity with RIDC (not extending JCR Data Control).
    I hope this help you.
    Regards.

    Hi Kumar,
    You Can find the above Section in : Go to http://hostname:port/nwa and open Configuration--->Connectivity --> Single Service Administration and open Service Definitions tab and select the application service for which you want to create the Authentication.

    Have you installed the 64-bit Access driver on your machine? See
    Data Source Names and 64-Bit Operating Systems for the differences in odbcad32. Call %SystemRoot%\system32\odbcad32.exe to check the drivers.
    How do you host your service? Stand-alone or IIS or embedded to another application? Keep in mind that IIS7 runs it in its application pool which is defaullt 64bit. Thus the bad image exception, when compiling your service as 32bit.
    When you need the Access database for your service to store informtation, then I would switch to SQL Server (Express) or XML files depending on your actual needs.
    Also check whether your account under which your service is run has the necessary NTFS file permissions on the access file and the folder. This is getting even more complex when it's a remote folder.

  • Error 66 and error 18500 using HTTP GET control: SOLVED

    Hello, I'm new as a member and as a LabView user but I spent many hours trying to get the URL_Get_HTTP vi to play nicely with my code, and as a courtesy I thought I would post the problems I was having and the resolution(s).
    First of all, I was receiving an Error 66 every time I would attempt to make a connection.  This implies that the server terminated the connection, but I knew that this was not the case as I could connect just fine in other manners (browsers, PHP, etc)...
    1) I changed the "bytes to read" input of the "TCP Read" control residing in the middle of the "TCP Buffered Read.vi" from a constant of 1024 to 1.  I have not confirmed that this step is required and you may want to apply step #2 on its own.
    2) I stripped the Error 66 from the "URL Get HTTP Document.vi" inbetween the "TCP Buffered Read" control and the "TCP Read Stream" control.  You can do this by disconnecting the wire, adding a "Clear Error" control on that wire, or perhaps least offensively using my attached control which selectively removes only Error 66.  You should review my control before using it, as I am a new LabView user!  If you think this is "bad form" to strip and ignore an error I would completely agree, but I'm going to classify this as a bug in the control itself, and would also point out that the 4th post of the following thread concluded the same thing.
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Can-t-read-page-containing-XML-using-GET-HTTP-Document/m-p/1191803#M...
    3) To this point the Error 66 is no longer showing up, but now Error 18500 is, which is labeled as "undocumented" which was not very helpful.  Most people will probably not suffer from this problem, but ultimately the cause was that my URL string ended in a carriage return.  The HTTP control does not appreciate this in any way, and a simple Trim on the string before sending it resolved this issue.
    Anyway, good luck!

  • Use Labview to control two Picomotor actuators successively through Model 8753 iPico driver

    Hello All,
    I want to use Labview to control two Picomotor actuators(belong to channel A ,C) successively through Model 8753 iPico driver.Since the example VI's
    (Application.vi) from Newport's website just control one actuator at one time, so I copied the example code, thus there are two repetitive sections (see the attachment) in
    the while loop structure. The test result was that two Picomotor actuators moved to respective target position circularly. And I found the test was correct when two Picomotor actuators belonged to different address. Can anyone tell why ,what should I do? Any assistance with this matter is greatly appreciated.

    BRox,
    I had a look at the examples and obviously all it does is to communicate to the drive through RS232 with a proprietary protocol. With the documentation in the block diagram and the documentation of the protocol it shouldn't be too hard to understand what's going on, but on the other side NewFocus has obviously missed a chance to provide a high level and easy to use API for their product...
    I can't dive too deeply into the features of this drive, but before you spend too much time on understanding their command language, you should check with NewFocus, if it is possible at all to meet your requirements with their hardware. The main reason why I doubt that is the slow communication speed provided by RS232. The only way to reach a sinusoidal motion profile of 30 to 70 Hz with this type of communication is running the complete trajectory generation and interpolation onboard. If you have planned to generate the motion profile in LabVIEW and send setpoint commands to the drive this will probably not work.
    If the drive provides another command input (e. g. an analog +/- 10 V input for torque or velocity command signals), we can talk about alternative approaches.

  • WSDL generates incorrect BAPIRET2 code in VS2005

    I have tried to import WSDL for two Web Services based on function modules into a Visual Studio C# project.
    In both cases, the WSDL generates the web service; however when I build the project, both services have syntax errors in the Reference.cs file for all components of the Bapiret2 class.
    Each component generates the following two error messages:
    "An object reference is required for the nonstatic field, method or property '<namespace>.System.get"
    and
    "'string' does not contain a definition for 'Xml'"
    In each case, the error messages refer to the line that reads:
    "[System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute (Form=System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified)]"
    that precedes the "Set" & "Get" methods for each Bapiret2 class component. The errors highlight the "System" and "X,l" components following "Form=" .
    Has anyone seen this before?
    I'm using SAP 2004s with Support Stack 15, and Visual Studio 2005 SP1 with the Enterprise Services Explorer add-on.
    Thanks,
    D.

  • Using LabView to control a pump

    I am a college student working on my senior project. My group is trying to use LabView to control two diaphragm pumps. We have a code written that generates the appropriate signal. The problem that we are having is getting this code to activate the pumps and make them run.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    You really need to provide more information.
    What is the interface between the code and the pumps? How does the code communicate with the interface? Are all the necessary drivers loaded?
    What happens, exactly, when you run the code? Do you get any error messages? What are they?
    Please post your code along with answers to these questions.  Also provide any other specific information which might be necessary for us to assist you.  Good questions can get good answers. Vague questions will only get more questions!
