V$archived noy sync in Dataguard

Hi,
My question is about a doubt that I had y my Dataguard.
Few days ago I did a scn incremental restore in order to sync Primary and Standby instances, the problem is v$archived_log is not updated. Let me show you
Primary:
select max(sequence#), to_char(next_time,'DD-MON-YY:HH24:MI:SS'), applied from v$archived_log group by to_char(next_time,'DD-MON-YY:HH24:MI:SS'), applied order by 1 desc
923426 17-FEB-13:07:16:38 NO
SQL> select max(sequence#) from v$archived_log where applied='YES';
MAX(SEQUENCE#)
915252
Standby:
select max(sequence#), to_char(next_time,'DD-MON-YY:HH24:MI:SS'), applied from v$archived_log group by to_char(next_time,'DD-MON-YY:HH24:MI:SS'), applied order by 1 desc
923426 17-FEB-13:07:16:38 YES
When I do automatic recover the gap is:
Fetching gap sequence in thread 1, gap sequence 923427-923526
My question is why I have different values on that queries?
Thanks a lot!

Hello;
If I understand the question correctly its because of how you query v$archived_log. The max(sequence#) hurts the query because it does not allow you see the different values of DEST_ID.
Try changing the query to include DEST_ID and use WHERE sysdate > -1 ( on one of the date columns ) to see a smaller range.
clear screen
set linesize 100
column STANDBY format a20
column applied format a10
SELECT
  name as STANDBY,
  SEQUENCE#,
  applied,
  completion_time
from
  v$archived_log
WHERE
  DEST_ID = 2 AND NEXT_TIME > SYSDATE -1;The try this query from your Primary :

  • Steps to sync RAC -dataguard

    Hi folks,
I m having setup with 2 node RAC primary and 2 node RAC Dataguard on 10.2.0.4.0. Dataguard setup is working fine. Dataguard is setup with Standby Redo log group with managed recovery. Due to network issue network issue the transferring archives & applying on standby couldnot take place. The network issue is sorted but now the primary and standby are not in sync.
I am new with RAC and dataguard combined. Can you proivde suitable document or steps how i can manually sync both.

  • OVI suite won't show Archived Messages synced from...

I recently transferred my old text messages from my old Sony Ericsson K800i to my new C3-00 using my sim card. The texts appeared on the new phone fine and can be read no problem on the phone's archive. However, whenever i sync them to Ovi Suite, the content of the texts fail to appear. The exact number of messages come up, but what was on each one doesn't.

  • Problem in Archive log sync with Passive Node to Standby

    Hi,
I have configured Active-Passive Oracle Database using Fail Safe between Active and Passive Node. Also successfully configured Data Guard between Active Node to Standby Node.
    Versions:
    1. Oracle Database Version: Oracle 11g R2
    2. Oracle Fail Safe: 3.4.2
    3. OS: Windows Server 2008 R2
    Problem:
Now after fail over the database to Passive node, to check whether the DR is functioning or not, archive logs are not transferring to Standby node. In the Passive Node aler log file error is showing:
    "ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
PING[ARC2]: heartbeat failed to connect to standby órcldr´. Error is 1031
Could anyone please let me know the possible reason for this and the resolution.

    Hello;
I'm thinking password file. It needs to be the same copy on all instances.
Did you copy and rename it as needed?
And you need to restart using the correct copy of the password file too.
So a Standby for example must startup on the correct copy of the password file or you will still get the error.

  • IBooks app will noy sync to my iPod touch

I am talking about the actual iBooks app. I click install and then sync it to my ipod. The icon appears but after the sync is finished it disappears.

Is the App version in your iTunes library compatible wither you model iPod and its iOS version?
The version currentlyin the Apple App store requires iOS 7. If you have a 4G iPod you need to:
If you have iOS 4.2.1 or later on the iPod and there was version compatible with that version, then you should be able to get a compatible version by:
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

  • ICal noy syncing location of events

I have a Palm Lifedrive, and when I use iSync to sync up my calendar using OSX 10.5 Leopard, I find that it syncs pretty much everything except the location for each event. Naturally this is a little frustrating as I use this a lot, so I was wondering if anyone had encountered a similar problem and whether there is a fix for this.

It has always been this way…
To synchronize the location, place it in the Note section of the iCal event. Or, toss iSync and the iSync Palm Conduit to the curb, and download and install the Missing Sync for Palm OS.
A guide to event field mapping between iCal and the Palm OS calendaring application when using the Missing Sync for Palm OS is available here.

  • My ipad is noy syncing anymore...

    Hello..
I have had my iPad for several months.
I didnt syn with my itunes (1.0.1.1 for Win 64 bits) very often.
But today my ipadis not syncing anymore.
    In the iTunes appears:
Syncing "GaboPad" (Step 2 of 4)
    Preparing to sync...
And it has hours in the same state.
I have resintalled itunes, reinitialized my laptop and the situation continues.
How I know what is the problem?
    Thanks!

I had the same problem and after a long time on the phone with Apple support restored the iPad which meant deleting all of the content and then reloading it. Fortunately I had synched successfully a month or so ago so I was able to recover most of the content. However it was successful and the device does synch and back up. Some tips to bear in mind before embarking on this: If you have your own content that you want to preserve email it to yourself or otherwise prserve it before doing the restore. For example I found that files held in Goodreader had not backed up, but files in iBooks had. So one tip while backing up is to make sure that any vital files you use in goodreader are also held in ibooks.

  • IDVD 08 audio/video sync drift toward end of DVD movie - fix/workaround?

Anyone know how I can fix this issue? It's driving me crazy.
I've just spent a few evenings in iMovie 08, editing together the video of my son's birth. All looked & amazingly good in iMovie. The "Large" .m4v file output by iMovie - Shared with the Media Browser - plays perfectly in Quicktime too.
However, after adding that shared movie to iDVD 08, and burning a DVD, I noticed that the audio sync drifts toward the end of the Movie when plated back. At the start of the DVD all seems well, but by the end of the ~1hr 20 minute movie the audio is unbearably out of sync with the video. Completely unwatchable.
After a little Googling I came across some reports that iDVD might not deal well with video that's been recorded with 12-bit audio. I've confirmed that my camcorder is (was!) set to 12-bit rather than 16-bit (the default, I'm sure). So if that's the problem I'm hosed... it's not like I can get a retake on that footage
Is there a reasonable workaround for this issue? I'm obviously unable to re-take the video (or the other 10 hours of DV video tape I've yet to use in an iMovie project). Ideally I'd like Apple to release a patch for this. Shouldn't it be possible for iDVD to account for audio that was originally recorded in 12-bit... even if it's just a checkbox you have to select to tip it off?
Then again, perhaps this is totally unrelated to the 12-bit issue, and this is just a run of the mill bug?
As I said... iMovie generates a MPEG4 video file of the Movie that looks/sounds perfect, so it seems this sync issue's being created somewhere in iDVD as it's rendering the audio/video to burn to the DVD...
    Thanks in advance.

I've tried most of the options I can think of, and the audio sync drift issue continues on this ~1hr 12 minute iMovie/iDVD 08 project.
A couple of promising ideas tried used QT Pro, to export the audio track from the iMovie generated MPEG-4 file - as a WAV file, resampling to 48kHz and 16-bit... then Adding this back to the video track in the MPEG-4 file (having deleted the original audio track). In another test I also tried the Add to Selection and Scale option. Oddly enough I think the Add to Selection and Scale attempt generated more sync issues than before in the final DVD movie... so I stuck with the MPEG-4 file containing the video track and the added, resampled at 48kHz & 16 bit, WAV audio track.
This was saved as a self contained Movie file, producing a QT .mov file. I moved this .mov file into the iDVD projects directory structure so that it was avalable in iDVD's Media Browser. I then reworked the iDVD project to use this QT large.mov file, instead of the original iMovie large.m4v file.
As a reminder... the original large.m4v file has the following properties:
    29.97 FPS H.264 Decoder, 960 x 540, Millions
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 44.100 kHz
    0:01:12:07.16 duration
The resampled and saved QT MOV file has the following properties:
    29.97 FPS H.264 Decoder, 960 x 540, Millions
16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Stereo, 48.000 kHz
    0:01:12:07.16 duration
BOTH versions of this Movie file play flawlessly within QT Pro... there's no audio sync drift evident toward the end of the movie unless I use iDVD 08 to burn either movie file to a Physical DVD (or DVD Disk Image). In both cases the resultant DVD Movie exhibits significant audio sync drift as the ~1hr 12 minute movie progresses. The sync goes out by ~ <= 1 second based on a rough visual assessment.
I've not yet tried to burn either the original iMovie produced MPEG-4 video file or my QT Pro tweaked audio track .MOV file version to a DVD on my PC...
... But I have used an application called Burn (referenced in this earlier/archived iDVD sync drift forum post: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1332100 by user F Shippey - http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/) to take the QT Pro tweaked .mov file version of the original MPEG-4 file and burn it to a DVD...
    Results:
The Burn app burnt DVD plays with NO audio sync issues!... Even though it was generated from the same audio tweaked (48kHz/16-bit resampled) QT Pro .mov file.
However, whenever I burn a DVD using iDVD 08 the audio sync gradually drifts. It matters not whether I use the original iMovie 08 generated MPEG-4 movie file, or the QT Pro version of that file with the resampled audio track (the same one that works fine with Burn).
It sure looks to me like iDVD has a problem... Again, refer to http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1332100 for someone else who seems to have run into similar challenges.
    Am I overlooking something?
    Thanks in advance.

  • LMS3.2 - Need Customized method for cofig archive to particular device.

    Hi all,
We are using Cisco works LMS 3.2 - Added around 400 devices and monitoring the same.  Facing a issue like while taking a configuration backup getting all devcie details and also CONFIG_ARCHIEVE Job is time consuming, because getting all device configurations. To avoid this we need to know the customized method to archive target particular device configuration in the LMS 3.2 .
Can any one help on this...Thanks in advance.
    Thanks and Regards
    Ramprakash

This is possible. You can schedule a Archive job for perticular devices to run periodically, like every 6 hours, daily, weekly or monthly.
This can be done from :
RME > Config Mgmt > Archive Mgmt > Sync Archive

  • ITunes could not back up,an error occurred, could not sync app.

First, when I connected iPad to pc, a window pop up and asked, select the program to launch for this action: Microsoft Office OneNote, or Microsoft Office Word, or Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard. normally I didnt choose and just closed the window. Is that right?
Normally my iTunes will aotomatic sync, but now soon it will pop up a window,: iTunes could not back up the iPad because an error occurred.
After this, I found could noy sync my downloaded app to iPad.
How to overcome this? Please help me, thank you.

spent the morning on the phone with apple... they are, or were, unaware of the problem with ipad not syncing with itunes... i suggested they go on line and see the hundreds of comments there and come to their own community to see all the comments here...
they had me completely remove itunes from my computer (a mac) and reinstall... still no sync... they then had me do a hard restore on my ipad... it worked... and it is done without the computer initially... still have to plug in but to prepare it for the hard restore... i didnt... contact the tech dept... they now know what is going on...

  • Itunes thinks ipod is iphone- wont sync

since i have updated itunes to 8.2 i have been having problems. whenever i connect my ipod to the computer it comes up with an error message saying "An iphone has been connected but could not be identified properly". I put the ipod into restore mode and updated it with o.s 3.0. but still same problem. I have tried everything, been on the phone to apple for hours and even restored my computer. Can anyone help me! Thankyou

I have a similar problem - i have an iTouch, i have upgraded iTunes to 8.2.0.23 and the iTouch would noy sync - came up with error message - The iPOD "XXX" cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found.
I have reinstalled iTunes and also upgraded the iTouch from 2.* to 3.0.
    Still getting the same issue.

  • My computer is "not authorized" to download TV show to iPod, but is in fact authorized and syncs everything else.

I haven't purchased a TV show for a couple of iTunes updates and did so this morning. The episode plays on my Mac, but will noy sync to my iPod Touch. iTunes tells me the computer is not authorized. But the computer is authorized and syncs everything else.
Anybody have suggestions on how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Mattadolphus

More users have reported this problem, but there does not seem to be an universal solution.
Browse or search these discussions to find some hints.
It works perfectly on my system (with iLife 5) and I have no problems with purchased music.
As a workaround you could burn your purchased music on an Audio CD (not MP3 or data) and re-import them.
Those re-imported tracks will play in QT and iDVD.

  • Corrupting the block to continue recovery in physical standby

    Hi,
Just like to inquire how I will be able to corrupt the block to be able to continue the recovery in the physical standby.
    DB Version: 11.1.0.7
    Database Type: Data Warehouse
The setup we have is primary database and standby database, we are not using dataguard, and our standby setup is another physical copy of production which act as standby and being sync using script that being run from time to time to apply the archive log came from production (its not configured to sync using ARCH or LGWR and its corresponding configurations).
Then, the standby database is not sync due to errors encountered while trying to apply the archive log, error is below:

Based on the error log it seems we are hitting some bug from metalink (document id 460169.1 and 882851.1)
my question is, the datafile # is given, block# is known too and the data object is also identified. I just verified that object is not that important, is there a way to set the block# to corrupted to be able the recovery to continue? Then I will just drop the table from production so that will also happen in standby, and the block corrupted will be gone too. Is this feasible?
If its not, can you suggest what's next I can do so the the physical standby will be able to sync again to prod aside from rebuilding the standby?
Please take note that I also tried to dbv the file to confirm if there is marked as corrupted and the result for that datafile is also good:

just new with the organization and just inherit a data warehouse database without rman backup. I am still setting up the rman backup thats why i can't use rman to resolve the issue, the only i have is physical standby and its not a standby that automatically sync using dataguard or standard standby setup, i am just checking solution that is applicable in the current situation
