VALIDATE_LAYER_WITH_CONTEXT - am I using wrong SDO_TOLERANCE?

I am testing some geometry validation with 10gR2 and struuggling to get my head around the tolerance values.
If I am storing data in meters to a precision of centimeter.
Below is a row from the USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA table showing that I am using a SDO_TOLERANCE of 0.01

If I use the SDO_GEOM.VALIDATE_LAYER_WITH_CONTEXT procedure it is returning an ORA-13356 error. E.g.:

I understand that this procedure uses the tolerance from the USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA table so is my value incorrect for centimeter precision? Should I be using 0.005 as a SDO_TOLERANCE as I have read elsewhere on this forum?

Thanks for your replies.
I have spoken to the team who configured the values in the USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA table and they now agree the value is wrong.
As for the points being a straight line - the data is coming from a Shape file and are the first few coordinates which actually form a circle. I'm not allowed to change the geometries to simplify or change to circular polygons. However there has been comment on the number of vertices forming circles from a third party end user!

Query uses wrong index

Hi,
I have exported and imported two schemas to a different server. Now when a user fires a select query it takes more time than before. When I saw the execution plan for some of 'select' queries,I found that the queries are using wrong index.This is the reason for the delayed reponse time.
Can anybody tell me why it happened ?
Now what should I do?
Can I force select query to use the right index?

WHow long have you left it to charge? Have you tried resetting it after a short period of time to see if that can help jumpstart the charging process? To do this, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

Settings>iCloud>Delete Account. Choose if you want to delete or keep the data from the wrong ID in your iPhone. If you choose "delete from iPhone" the data will not delete from iCloud server. The add a new iCloud account with the ID you want.
Maybe you want to change the Apple ID in iMessage and FaceTime to. Go to settings>messages/FaceTime to sign out and back in with the ID you want.

Monitor using wrong display profile--how do I change it?

I recently bought two new monitors (same model) and have them connected to my Mac Pro--one with DVI and the other through a KVM switch using a VGA-DVI adapter. The problem is that the second one (connected through the KVM) displays in the wrong resolution. When I open the Displays preferences, it looks like it's using a profile from my previous monitor and the Display tab shows the wrong list of resolutions.
Is there a way to delete this old profile, or at least get the resolution list to display more options? The second monitor works fine when I connect it directly via DVI, but I'd like to keep using it with my old KVM switch if possible. (DVI KVM switches are too expensive!)

What happens if you click "detect displays"?
There is a display .plist which you can drag to the desktop and then log out and back in to reset.
It's
com.apple.preference.displays.001b63933178.plist
except that the number will be different.

No error generated if batch process load file uses wrong naming convention

Another interesting one...
When using the batch processing functionality of FDM, which can be executed by either:
- FDM Workbench (manually)
- Hyperion FDM Task Manager (scheduled)
- upsShell.exe (scheduled and executed from a batch script)
..., one has to name the data file (to be loaded) using a specific file naming convention (i.e. "A~LOCATION~CATEGORY~PERIOD~RA.csv" format, for example). However, if one does not name the file correctly and then tries to process the file using batch processing functionality using any of the above three methods, FDM happily moves the file out of the OpenBatch folder and into a new folder, but the file is not loaded as it does not know where to map it to (as expected). However, there are no errors in Outbox\Logs\<username>.err to inform the user, so one is non the wiser that anything has gone wrong!
When using FDM Workbench, an error is displayed on the screen (POV - "Batch Completed With Errors, ( 1 ) Files Contained Errors"), but this is the only indication of any error. And normally, one would be scheduling the load using upsShell.exe or Hyperion FDM Task Manager anyway...
Has anyone else noticed this, or am I doing something wrong here? :-)

Yes, as per my original post the only feedback on any POV errors appears to be when using the FDM Workbench Batch Processing GUI.
Regarding the "Batch Process Report in FDM" you mentioned, are you referring to Analysis | Timeline accessible via FDM web client? Unfortunately this does not appear to provide much in the way of detail or errors, only general events that occurred. I cannot locate any batch process report, other than the log output I defined when calling upsShell.exe. However, this contains no POV errors...

Model uses wrong logical source for aggregation

Hi all,
i faced with problem when my model uses the wrong logical source to display pre-aggregated data. I have 5 logical sources with pre-aggregtaed data for my fact table and use two dimensions for mapping these sources:
Dimension "Geography": Country->State
Dimension "Periods": Year->Quarter->Month->Day
source 1 (most derailed) - mapped to levels: DAY, STATE
source 2 - mapped to DAY, COUNTRY
source 3 - mapped to MONTH, STATE
source 4 - mapped to MONTH (only this level)
source 5 - mapped to MONTH, COUNTRY
When i run my request - measure by DAY - it uses source 2, instead of using source 1 as i supposed. Can anybody explain me why?

What am i understanding from here is BI server decided on the best way to get the job done. You are having day at source 1 and source 2. But source 2 is aggregated at higher level than the source 1 with respect to region dimension. So as a matter of fact the best source for day is source 2.

WLC 5508 AP Group - Clients using wrong VLAN

I have a network setup as live-ssid. It is using the Interface for VLAN 14. All APs under the default-group AP Group obviously allows clients to DHCP an address from VLAN 14. This is working fine.
I created a new AP Group called 3rd Floor. This has the live-ssid setup, but instead of using the Interface for VLAN 14 it is setup for the Interface for VLAN 50. I have all the APs on this floor moved to the 3rd Floor AP Group.
The problem is that 95% of the clients on 3rd Floor are still picking up DHCP addresses from VLAN 14. I checked and all the clients are connected to the APs on the 3rd Floor. Only 4 Clients are getting an address from VLAN 50.
I'm not sure if something is configured wrong or not since some devices pick up the new VLAN and the rest don't. I've manually reboot the APs on the 3rd floor to see if that would fix it.
Any help would be great.

My wild guess is that your clients originally connected to another floor and then moved to the 3rd floor.
The idea is that if one of your client moves to the 3rd floor, there is no reason to kill its connectivity by assigning it a 3rd floor ip address instead of its 1st floor ip address for example.
So the clients are assigned a 3rd-floor ip address only if their first AP association is on the 3rd floor.
Even if you powered the client on the 3rd floor, there is a chance that the client connected to an AP on 2nd or 4th floor and then changed because the APs on 3rd floor are giving a better signal. This is often seen when the floors/ceiling don't represent a big RF attenuation, clients might associate to an AP sitting on another floor.

Flash Compiler Using Wrong AS Version

I've been using Flash CS3 at work for a while now. Yesterday
I stumbled into a very strange issue. I'm building a few components
(AS3) to use in a larger application. Everything has been smooth
sailing until yesterday when all my AS3 FLA files stopped
compiling. It appears that flash is trying to compile all my
actionscript as as2 instead of as3. I get a bunch of errors started
with "Syntax Error" for "package {" and turnning through all the
code, concluding with the eroror "ActionScript 2.0 class scripts
may only define class or interface constructs." The issue is that
i'm not using ActionScript 2.0, i'm using 3.0 The publish settings
are clearly set to 3.0 and the player version set to 9.
More puzzling is the error message only comes up when i drag
my component to the stage. it compiles without any errors, but just
spins on the avatar frame and the other included stuff frame back
and forth.
I am not sure where to include the fla and as files to see if
someone can duplicate the error, but this is extremely frustrating.
i don't understand why i'm getting actionscript 2.0 errors when i'm
set up to compile 3.0.
I will attach the class code just incase that helps, but you
would need the fla to duplicate what i'm seeing and to confirm that
i am set up correctly to use as3.

work, i have not used any as2 files or any as2 actionscript. i
agree that usually when something fails compilation it spins, but
i'm getting no errors at compile time.
the errors i receive are when i drag to the component to the
stage, or when i try to define the class for the component.
it appears as though the wrong compiler is taking action on
my code, as i'm getting actionscript 2 errors from an as3
setup.

Mac Mail Uses wrong "from:" Address .... ouch!

I have multiple e-mail accounts set up on Mac mail. Each email account has it's own SMTP server defined. The "use only this SMTP server" is checked on all the accounts.
Today I sent an email from one account ... let's call it [email protected]
The outbound server was set properly.
The mail was sent, and appears on the outbox for [email protected] Just like normal.
I got a reply back from the person I sent the e-mail to, and the reply shows that my e-mail originated from a DIFFERENT account. Let's call it [email protected]
The e-mail I sent originally does NOT show up in the Sent e-mail box for [email protected] It shows up in the Sent e-mail box for [email protected] where it should.
So ... it looks like Apple Mail sent an e-mail from the wrong account, using the wrong SMTP server. The mail program obviously doesn't konw what SMTP account to send mail from.
Wow.
I'm shocked.
This is beyond lame.

Follow up to my own question. I do see others have had this problem:

It makes no sense whatsoever for Apple Mail to "fall back" to an SMTP server that is not assigned to a particular account. It's far better for the SMTP connection to fail and NOT send the e-mail from the wrong account, instead of confusing all the people I send e-mails to.
This SMTP fallback "feature" ***** and should be gotten rid of.

Delete command in SQLPLUS by use wrong column name command

Assume I have three table T1,T2 and T3 shown as follow...

if I want to delete account in T1 that deleted account is in T2.
I must use query1 , it will work

delete from T1 where cusid in (select ref_cusid from T2);
but if i type wrong by this command

delete from T1 where cusid in (select cusid from T2);
in query 2,it should be have warning message because field cusid is not in T2.Right ? But it will delete all account in table T1.
compare query2 with query 3,

it will show warning message like 'ORA-00904: "FIELD_TEST": invalid identifier'
I noticed that in query2 and query3 , Different Thing is query 2 wrong column name in T2 has same name as column in T1. I wonder why it is.

I doubt very much if this is really what you did:

1) 103The desc command shows a column name ref_cusid. The select command shows a column title cusid, not ref_cusid.
You start by saying that you have 3 tables, without doing anything with T3. Are you sure you you haven't mixed up a copy and paste somewhere?

"Given final block not properly padded" when using wrong secretKey

Hello guys, I browsed the questions in this forum regarding my problem, but somehow couldn't find a solution to this.
I generated two SecretKey key1 and key2. Now I'm using the Cipher class to encrypt a message to key1. If I try to decrypt it with key1, everything works fine. But if I try key2 I get the "Given final block not properly padded"-message in my exception backtrace instead of just unreadable stuff, which I excepted (using the wrong key). This happens regardless of the symetric algorithm I use.
Can you help me?

Most symmetric algorithms work on data of a given block-size. If your data isn't a multiple of that size, it's padded. This removes a clue that a cryptanalyst can use to try and break your encryption. At decrypt time, the Cipher expects to see padding-related bits at the end of the stream, so it knows how many pad-bits were stuck on to begin with. When the end of the stream doesn't match the expected padding-protocol, you get the exception noted.
Now - if you decode with the wrong key, you get junk. The chances of that junk ending with a valid padding-indicator is...small. So you're more likely to see "BadPadding" than a valid (if incorrect) plaintext.
You could use "NoPadding" on both ends, and do your own manipulation of the bit-stream to make the Cipher happy. Then, you wouldn't get BadPadding exceptions. But you'd have to write some pretty fiddly code on each end.
Anybody else want to double-check me on this? I'm away from my books at the moment. Floersh? Euxx?

IPhoto using wrong email to "share" photos

Hi there,
I'm using my new macbook, and love it!
BUT, when using iPhoto for the very first time, I wanted to "share" a photo and clicked to email the photo.
I then had options to setup whatever email I had. I opted for the Windows Live Account, but put in the wrong address.
Now each time I try to share a photo by email, it brings up this email account and will not send. iPhoto will not let me edit the email address.
I tried in settings to add the correct account, and it let me, but iPhoto keeps bringing up the incorrect email and not giving me an option of choosing the correct one.

If that is supposed to be funny, it's not.
After INITIALLY setting up the wrong email ([email protected]) in iPhoto, I went into the Settings, Mail, Contacts and Calendars, and tried to setup the correct email ([email protected]).
In the Mail, Contacts and Calendars section, it does not show this incorrect @hotmail account, it only shows the new and correct @msn.com account. So how can I delete the incorrect @hotmail.com account again?
There is NO option in iPhoto to select a different email account, it just opens a "new" email with the incorrect @hotmail.com account, so now I cannot send any photos to anyone via email as this @hotmail.com account doesn't actually exist.
I hope I am making my problem clear, can anyone out there help with this?
