Validate xml againt registerd schema, ignoring xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocatio

hi,
i would like to validate received xml against registered schema, ignoring the one defined in xml. I use XMLisValid(xml_data ,schema_url) but it works only if there is no xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation attrubute.
This is sample xml.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!--Sample XML file generated by XMLSPY v2004 rel. 3 U (http://www.xmlspy.com)-->
<ROOT xmlns:xdb="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xdb" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://localhost/public/xsd/myapp.xsd">
     <ID>0</ID>
     <INFO>
          <INFO_ID>0</INFO_ID>
          <INFO_CONTENT>Text</INFO_CONTENT>
     </INFO>
</ROOT>
Anybody knows if it is possible?
Thanks in advance..

Hi,
It should work according to the documentation, but obviously it doesn't.
So I guess you'll have to consider one of these options :
- Changing the xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation at the source to use the URL of your registered schema instead
- The other way around : register your schema at the URL defined in the document
- Removing the xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation attribute prior to validation
Here's an example for the third option :
BEGIN
  dbms_xmlschema.registerSchema(
    schemaURL => 'myapp2.xsd'
  , schemaDoc =>
'<xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
  <xs:element name="ROOT">
    <xs:complexType>
      <xs:sequence>
        <xs:element name="ID" type="xs:integer"/>
        <xs:element name="INFO">
          <xs:complexType>
            <xs:sequence>
              <xs:element name="INFO_ID" type="xs:integer"/>
              <xs:element name="INFO_CONTENT" type="xs:string"/>
            </xs:sequence>
          </xs:complexType>
        </xs:element>
      </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
  </xs:element>
</xs:schema>'
  , local => true
  , genTypes => false
  , genTables => false
END;
SQL> declare
  2
  3    doc xmltype := xmltype('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
  4  <ROOT xmlns:xdb="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xdb"
  5        xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
  6        xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://localhost/public/xsd/myapp.xsd">

  8  <INFO>
  9  <INFO_ID>0</INFO_ID>
10  <INFO_CONTENT>Text</INFO_CONTENT>
11  </INFO>
12  </ROOT>');
13
14    isValid integer;
15
16  begin
17
18    doc := doc.deleteXML('/ROOT/@xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation','xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"');
19
20    select xmlisvalid(doc, 'myapp2.xsd') into isValid from dual;

    Hi All!
    I have a problem that. I want to validate a xml data of complextype but the schema i want to validate is[b] not have root element.
    For example:
    The schema like that
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xs:schema targetNamespace="www.thachpn.test" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="www.thachpn.test" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="unqualified">
         <xs:complexType name="Name">
              <xs:sequence>
                   <xs:element name="FirstName" type="xs:string"/>
                   <xs:element name="LastName" type="xs:string"/>
              </xs:sequence>
         </xs:complexType>
    </xs:schema>
    and the xml data i want to validate like this
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Name xmlns="www.thachpn.test" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
         <FirstName>Pham</FirstName>
         <LastName>Thach</LastName>
    </Name>
    My Algorithm is like that:
    I create a complextype object by above schema
    then i create new element with given name and namespace
    after that i use schema of this element to validate xml data.
    I use xmlparserv2 lib of oracle
    But i can not find how to create complextype from schema or create element with have complextype.
    Please help me.
    Thanks a lot!

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    Modify the schema.
    Add a root element.
    <xs:schema targetNamespace="www.thachpn.test" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="www.thachpn.test" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="unqualified">

  • Schema Validation on attributes of an element in XML againt XSD schema

    Hi,
    I had generated artifact java classes from XSD schema file.Now i am validatiing one sample XML document by using these classes in JAXB.The XML document is validated successfully.but only elements are validated ,but not attributes of that elements.for example ,i am giving wrong element which is not defined inside the schema file,it throws validation error as expected ,whereas validation against wrong attributes of elements in XML it is not working anyway,it does not throw any validation errors,but it should throw validation errors.kindly help me to solve this issue.
    Here The sample validation code snippets :
    import javax.xml.bind.ValidationEvent;
    import javax.xml.bind.ValidationEventHandler;
    import javax.xml.bind.ValidationEventLocator;
    public class MyEventHandler implements ValidationEventHandler{
         public boolean handleEvent(ValidationEvent ve) {
              if (ve.getSeverity()==ValidationEvent.FATAL_ERROR ||
                        ve .getSeverity()==ValidationEvent.ERROR){
                   ValidationEventLocator locator = ve.getLocator();
                   //Print message from valdation event
                   System.out.println("Invalid booking document: "
                             + locator.getURL());
                   System.out.println("Error: " + ve.getMessage());
                   //Output line and column number
                   System.out.println("Error at column " +
                             locator.getColumnNumber() +
                             ", line "
                             + locator.getLineNumber());
              return true;
    Unmarshaller unmarshaller = jc.createUnmarshaller();
    unmarshaller.setEventHandler(new MyEventHandler());

    Here is my analagous 'strange' behavior. I am jaxb processing and then marshalling generated classes to XML ( following the simple Sun 'PurchaseOrder' example )
    1. This works:
    <xsd:schema....>
    <xsd:complextType name = "myName">
    <xsd:attribute name='name1'>
    </xsd:complextType>
    </xsd:schema>
    2. This doesn't:
    <xsd:schema....>
    <xsd:complextType name = "myName">
    <xsd:attribute name='name1'/>
    <xsd:attribute name='name2'/>
    </xsd:complextType>
    </xsd:schema>
    That is, using more than one attribute line within this simple complex type causes nothing to be marshalled to XML.
    Ideas?

  • How to validate xml document again schema

    I need to create an xml document from sql retrieval. This xml document needs to be validated by xslt and xsd.
    The problem that I am having is that with some criteria, that xml document passed the validation, while others do not.
    Is there a way to check the xml document against the xsd to see which record does not pass the validation? Thanks.

    Validate with the JAXP DOMParser instead of the JAXP SAXParser.
    To validate with a SAXParser use the xerces SAXParser.

    Obviously, the w3c.org domain that you specified as ressource location is very slow - and, as the FAQ shows, this delay is intentional!
    The W3C servers are slow to return DTDs. Is the delay intentional?
    Yes. Due to various software systems downloading DTDs from our site millions of times a day (despite the caching directives of our servers), we have started to serve DTDs and schema (DTD, XSD, ENT, MOD, etc.) from our site with an artificial delay. Our goals in doing so are to bring more attention to our ongoing issues with excessive DTD traffic, and to protect the stability and response time of the rest of our site. We recommend HTTP caching or catalog files to improve performance.
    --> They don't want to have requests to their site from productive servers all around the world.

  • Validate XML with Schema?

    So, according to Adobe...
    quote:
    Dreamweaver CS3 continues to support not only the creation
    and editing of XML and XSL files, but it also allows you to import
    DTDs and schemas and to validate XML documents.
    Does anyone know how to accomplish this task? Adobe's
    documentation on this topic seems be less current than their
    marketing material.
    I mean, I'm assuming from the way this is worded it means
    that you can "import DTDs and schemas and ... validate XML
    documents"
    with said schemas. Or is this just some shifty marketing
    trickery which really means you can import (i.e., open) a DTD or
    schema, and, as a completely unrelated task, you can "validate"
    your XML file - to the extent that Dreamweaver will tell you if you
    forgot to close a tag?

    I tried to move all the xml, class and xsd files in the same folder and it still didn't work...
    And I can't hard coded the xsd file on the document... so the only way is to set the xsd location inside the java codes... here's what I have:
    static final String JAXP_SCHEMA_LANGUAGE = "http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage";
    static final String W3C_XML_SCHEMA = "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema";
    static final String JAXP_SCHEMA_SOURCE = "http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaSource";
    File xsdFile = new File("schema.xsd");
    saxParser.setProperty(JAXP_SCHEMA_LANGUAGE, W3C_XML_SCHEMA);
    saxParser.setProperty(JAXP_SCHEMA_SOURCE, xsdFile);
    Please help... thx.

  • How to validate XML against Schema

    Hi,
    I am trying to validate the XML against the schema by using follywing code but i am never getting errors in parser it always passes the parser even though there are serious parsing problems. My code is as follows:
    SAXParserFactory spf = SAXParserFactory.newInstance();
    spf.setNamespaceAware(true);
    spf.setValidating(true);
    SAXParser sp = spf.newSAXParser();
    sp.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage",
    "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema");
    sp.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaSource", xsdPath);
    DefaultHandler dh = new DefaultHandler();
    sp.parse(splObjPath, dh);
    thanks

    Many ways to do this... also depending upon what version of Xerces and/or you want to do DTD or schema, etc one of the simplest is to set the following properties,
    refer to:
    http://xerces.apache.org/xerces2-j/features.html
    Scroll down, check all the features starting with "http://apache.org/xml/features/validation"

    no errors we popping out while creating sales order in Siebel CRM. But the moment we put validate xml to ' Strict' it starts throwing validation errors.
    So can you please help us to know whether it is right to test the Oracle O2B pip by putting validate xml to 'Strict'? If it is fair to test it by switching
    ON Validate XML(putting validate xml to 'Strict') then we are getting below error.
    We are creating a new sales order in Siebel CRM and when we check in BPEL console it was faulted at UpdateSalesOrderSiebelCommsProvABCSImpl (v. 1.0) .When we checked the BPEL flow it is throwing error at InvokeUpdateUpsert.
    Error is According to the xml schemas, the xml document is invalid. The reason is: Error::cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with element 'xsdLocal1:Process_spcInstance_spcId'. One of '{"http://siebel.com/asi":Process_spcInstance_spcId}' is expected.
    Steps for Switching on Validation ?
    1)     Login to BPEL Console
    2)     Go To Configuration section
    3)     Schema Validation changes
    a.     ON: populate validateXML with value strict
    b.     OFF: populate validateXML with value none
    Really appreciate if you can help..

    hi
    Indeed, the "Validate XML" menu option only shows "Validate XML: 0 errors, 0 warnings.".
    But, if you look at the "Design" tab for your schema, the "invoices" element node contains an "xsd:invoice" sequence shown in red. If you change "xsd:invoice" to "invoice" this becomes white and the node can be expanded.
    One other thing, registering an XML Schema in JDeveloper like the one you posted, isn't possible without an "oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDException" (without further details).

  • Validate XML using schema

    Hi,
    I want to validate a xml from a schema (xsd). Can I uses a parser (any parser - xerces perhaps) and read the xsd into a String and then pass that string object to the parser?
    So instead of this:
    SAXBuilder builder = new SAXBuilder("org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser", true);
    builder.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema",
                        true);
    builder.setProperty("http://apache.org/xml/properties/schema"
                             + "/external-noNamespaceSchemaLocation",
    LOCATION OF XSD);
    Can I replace "LOCATION OF XSD" with a String argument that represents the contents of the XSD instead of the location to the xsd?
    Thanks

    A Schema validator could be used to validate your xml with a schema.
    TIBCO XMLValidate is a schema validator.
