Validating page item to be less than 50 charachters

Hello,
I have created validation for page item, its string and I want it to be not more than 50 letters,
I used PL/SQL expression and I used this one
V('P55_MANAGER_NAME').length > 50
I got this error
ORA-06550: line 1, column 47: PLS-00487: Invalid reference to variable 'NEW <expression>' ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: Statement ignored
Can some one help me in having the right expression??

Can some one help me in having the right expression??Well to start with the basic logic is incorrect.
length > 50means "must be longer than 50 characters".
Secondly
V('P55_MANAGER_NAME').length > 50is a mixture of PL/SQL and JavaScript syntax. From the error message it appears you're doing this in an APEX Post-Submit Validation?
In which case the syntax is
length(:p55_manager_name) <= 50

Validation for posting date is less than 7 days of current date

Hi
I want to create a validation wherein system will validate every entry that whether posting date is less than 7 days of current date. If it is than check in a set is that user id available if not than show error message.
If someone have any idea on this logic pls share with me.

Hi,
That's certainly possible via usual OB28 validation. Define your prerequisites for the posting date (you will have to do it via user-exit (bkpf-budat greater then sy-datum less 7 days) , and check whether the user is in the set.

the quotient function returns only whole number portion of the dividing two numbers. If you want the actual decimal value use the divide operator. you enter this as:
A/B
if the numerator is in A1 and the denominator is in B1 you can enter the formula like this:
=A1/B1

Validation date item

I am a new in apex and I am trying to disable a item change when a item date is less than a sysdate,
I have created a validation : SQL expression :
to_date(:P3_data,'dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi') >= sysdate
Error message:
You can not change the item placar right now.
but it is not working , the error message is not showing up.
Any ideia?

Firstly, make sure that the date mask you are using is the same as the one specified in your date picker.
Secondly, your requirements is a little conflicting as it stands. Here is why:
a. Validation's purpose is to prevent invalid data from beng saved. So, when a validation fails an implicit rollback is perfored (or the commit does not occur). This implies that the data though on the page will not be saved in the table(s).
b. An item can be disabled when it is fetched and displayed using conditions in ReadOnly section on the item. But, when the validation fails the data is not written to table and page item will still carry the ealier value from the database ( or will be null depending now how it came up ) and will not be disbaled
c. If you want to disable the item inspite of having a validation then you will have to use javascript triggered on the onchange event on the date item. But then where is the need for a validation as you are taking a "suo moto" action of disabling?
In a nutshell you either disabble the item and allow the commit to happen, or perform a validation and give the user an opportunity to correct date.
I am making sense?

Dynamic creation of page items

How can I create page items dynamic, if I have their number and their titles in a page item?

More often than not you'll run into difficulties when trying to do something like this with APEX. However, you have two options:
1 - The htmldb_item API, embedding items into a report based on the values of your previous page items.
2 - Some combination of hidden fields and conditionals that makes use of your page item values for their label text.
The former is well documented on the forum.

I have had an apple iPad 2 for less than a year and I have less than 2 pages of apps but when I look at the space meter the "other" section is taking up 6.7 Gb out of 16 Gb on it. I have researched this on the Internet and no one seems to know what it is.

I am unable to download any apps on account of all the space used. I have researched this problem and I can't seem to find an explanation. If anyone knows the solution or has spoken to apple about this please help if you can. Thank you!

The long and short of it is that you will probably have to restore your iPad. That giant "other" space is a sign of a corrupt file from a sync, I am pretty sure, but I am quite sure that the way to resolve it is to restore the iPad.
You can search the discussion site for similar threads but I think you will find that a restore is the way to correct it. Read this one.

if i clear the book so that it is all blanks and then try to load in the pictures i have it loses the chronology of the pictures that i had established in the album.
is there a way to import photos into an ibook template and keep the original order of the photos without having to do them one at a time?
also, is there a way to insert a photo rather than just dragging it? i have tried the cut and paste funciton but it doesn't seem to work, the target site doesn't seem to register with iphoto.

Photos are added to book in chronological order. So if you want to add them to a book in the order you have placed them manually in an album do the following:
1 - select all the photos in the album.
2 - use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option as shown here. Select any date and add 1 minute between photos.
3 - select just one photo from the album and create a book from it.
4 - in the book click on the Options button ➙ Book Settings button and make sure the checkbox for Auto-layout pages is unchecked.
5 - drag the album with your book photos onto the book icon and they will be imported into the Photos tray of the book in your pre-determined order but not into the pages themselves.

I created a page in APEX Express 4.2.3.00.08. On the page there are two items: a text field named P55_KEY_ID and an LOV named P55_REASON with the values LOST, BROKEN, OTHER. I created a dynamic action that enables P55_REASON when P55_KEY_ID changes. Our business rule is if P55_KEY_ID has been changed then P55_REASON must have a value, i.e. not null. Can I define a validation on P55_REASON with a condition to test the disabled property of the page item with javascript, if it is disabled then return false otherwise true. Where would I place the following javascript?
IF $x(‘P55_REASON’).disabled then
Return false;
Else
Return true;
End if;

Page item validation does not get removed

Hi All,
I had a page item validation defined on the page and later removed by deleting the validation in the 'page processing' in Application Builder. However, the validation still seems to execute at runtime. Can anyone tell me if it needs to be deleted from some other place as well.

Button condition on page item and Validation error Conflict

Hi,
I have a select list page item and a button on page whose condition is based on the select list page item value(eg, If (:P2_item1='val1'){return true;}) with condition type=PL/SQL function returning boolean. This buttons submits the page.
It' coming fine in normal case. However, if I select some value val2 from the list and then click the button, and if there are any validation errors (like mandatory check or email check fail etc), then the button disappears because it evaluates the button condition based on the changed value(val2), but the page has not yet been submitted because of validation errors.
I think this can be solved if I create the button condition based upon database column value instead of page item as db col value won't change until the page is submitted.
This look like very basic use-case and I would like to know if there is any better solution to this problem.
Note: I am using Apex 4.2.1

I don't want to show/hide the button on the change of the page item lov value, so i am not using Dynamic action.
What i was is to make button visible based on a condition(which is based on page item), for which we have condition attribute of a button available.
This is a very common thing where a user chooses the button condition as Value of item/column in expression 1 is null/expr2. But what if the user changes the page item value but it doesn't get submit due to validation error. In that case, the button condition fails.
So, i guess i have to use column name in expression 1, can u tell how to do that?
Expression 1 = IF (:P2_STATUS='val1') then return true;
How to change the above to use db column 'status' instead? Any direct way(like #Status#) or I have to query db to get it using select.

That's probably a bookmark you have saved in Favorites.
Tap bookmark icon>Favorites>Edit>Delete the bookmark

Budget control - Assigned funds are less than payment budget for fiscal year in document item

Dear Experts,
We are using Former budgeting, when ever we run the transaction FMBV getting the following message to a particular user.
Budgeting
Assigned funds are xxxx BHD less than payment budget for fiscal year
2014 in document item XXXX /XXXXX .
And also when purchasing creates the PO getting similar message to a particular user.
Purchase order 450000XXXX
Assigned funds are XXXX BHD less than the commitment budget for
fiscal year 2014 in document item 010 XXXX /XXXXX .
How to know where these users were maintained.

Creating Custom Page Size less than one inch

I currently have Acrobat 6 on Windows XP, and it appears that I cannot set a custom page size less than one inch (Using Printer Preferences). Is there another method I can use to create a PDF from Publisher that has a page size less than one inch? If not, would updating to Acrobat 9 allow me to print to a custom page size of less than one inch?

I tried deleting the preference file and restarting Pages but I still have the same problem with the custom page size. When I start Pages I am presented with a bunch of templates so I choose Blank then I go through my procedure to select the custom page size that I created and always end up back at an A4 document.
I have used the demo version of Stone Create to do what I needed to do with the small page size (ie. create a small ad) but it is a pain that I paid for Pages and now will need to buy something like Stone Create to do what I need. Although, that said, having used Stone Create for this little ad I must say that for the price it seems like a pretty decent program that will do a whole lot of the desktop publishing type of functions without the rather steep prices of the Adobe products. I kind of wish I had bought this program instead of Pages now.

Apexlib page item validation not shown correctly

Good morning guys! I have a question concerning the Apexlib page item validations.
Basically I just want to validate page item values and have errors displayed in a notification region on the very same page on submit.
I set up the Apexlib, which works perfectly for reports. However, when it comes to the page item validations, I am always rerouted to the Oracle Error page.
Do you know why or have you experienced similar problems?

I am using Apex 3.2 and Apexlib 1.6!
Like I said, the report validations are functioning properly! It's just the error message is not displayed on the same page in a notification field. Instead the user is redirected to the original Apex Error Page when the error is caught.
What validation do I want to carry out?
I tried to verify the input of a text box with $APEXLIB_MAX_VALUE=10$.
I thought it might be a minor problem, which I couldn't find. Already checked the installation of Apexlib twice. Seems to be alright.
