I want to throw an error message when user enters in date field.My requirement is to restrict the user to enter only first day of the future months like 01.10.2009 or 01.12.2010...........not like 02.05.2009.
how to do it?

If you are giving integers, then there might be possiblity that it may be a character.
For ex., if you giving 1 in character,eventhough it is integer it can be a character also.So you cannot validate it.
But if you want to restrict numbers,then you can use the following.But it will work only if you press enter or execute button.

How to use the table maintenance events for validating the input entries..?

I have created a Z table with 6 fields in which all are KEY fields. All are of CHAR type. I have created the Table Maintenance Generator for the same. While maintaining the entries in the table, even though I maintain a blank entry for a field it is saving the entry. But, I don't want that way. All the fields are mandatory in my table. One should enter all the fields. Otherwise it should not allow to save the entry. So, I think it can be done using the Table Maintenance Events. can someone tell me how to use the Table Maintenance Events. and which event to use for my reuqirement and what is the logic to be written.
Or Is there any other way to solve my problem.

In the table maintenance generator, Environment --> Modifications --> Events then a screen will be appear here,we need to create the Events.In the EVENTS screen, press new Entries, there give 01(Before Saving the Data in the Database) and give a name(This will become a PERFORM), then click the Editor pushbutton, this will be there at the right side of the entry, then a popup will be appear, you can create an include program, there inside of the include program write ur code.

FPM application - Not validating the Input at Review time

Hello Guru,
I am creating new FPM application from existing, as we have some issues in existing application. In existing application when I click on Review button it will fire below FPM event and validate the data and gives error message if any validation error.
fpm.raiseReviewAndSaveEvent(IFPM.EVENT_REVIEW, IFPM.EVENT_SAVE,
new VAC("Old DC Name", "Old Component Name" ));
In my new application when I click on Review button it does not validate the data and even not display validation error messages. I have changed according to my new DC as below.
fpm.raiseReviewAndSaveEvent(IFPM.EVENT_REVIEW, IFPM.EVENT_SAVE,
new VAC("New DC Name", "New Component Name" ));
My question is how FPM konws which fields it has to validate?
Do I have to mention this information somewhere, if yes then how Can I put information for my new DC?

Please double check if MCU on FE server works well, when two participants are connected, the session is essentially peer-to-peer. When three or more participants are connected, the Application Sharing feature depends on the Front End Server Multi Point Control
Unit (MCU) to provide the sharing stream to all parties.
Please check if port 5065/TCP is available on Front End server.

This is most probably because the Periodicity input value has been configured as "Required" and no value has been input for it.
Please enter a value and try to re-run Quick Pay.

AIP-13978: Error - the input xsd fails validation

For an ebXML setup over Generic exchange. I have to perform validation against XSDs which are nested in structure.
So while setting up the Document definition in the Business action, I uploaded the files as zip files and provided the name of the root XSD file.
However on clicking finish the for business action I am getting the IP-13978: Error - the input xsd fails validation: java.lang.NullPointerException

   It has the following platform: SAP ECC6 in AIX 6.1 with Oracle Database
My question is: When I run a online backup from DB13 with util_file I have this error message :
BKI0062E: The input file /oracle/SID/sapbackup/.file.lst is not valid.
Knowing when I launch from the standard profile on Disk initSID.sap it works without problem
When we test manually with oraSID it works but by SIDadm its not work
Then you can mention or in configuration files BACKINT both users oraSID & SIDadm have rights to use

As you see - your br*tools are more than two years old, many many errors have been fixed since. I would install the latest tools and try if the error is still there. You can even do that when the system is running.

How can I valid the path in different devices

I wrote a program using the PDA module months ago, I was now told to modify to make it robust in the sense that, the program with ‘run’ in any PDA.
There are several directories that are common with PDA’s, such as Storage, Storage Card, SD Card, MMC-SD Card e.t.c.
I previous used a Build Path to create the path I wanted that looked like this:
"Storage Card/S345220107.txt" where S345 is the user id and 220107 is the date from a time stamp VI.
What I want to do is to find a way of knowing what directory a PDA has somehow.
An algorithm of it will look some thing like this:

I created the VI you sent, and for the first version, when there is a Match, it does not place the found folder name in the Start Path or the Current Path Indicators. So the path created is not correct
I then tried a second version called PathSearch1Vi and added a few things for it to do what I wanted. Please run both and see if the second version is OK or what should be added to the first version.

How to validate the input parameters in Oracle BI Publisher reports

i am new to Oracle BI Publisher
I am using OBI for generating simple reports.
here i need validation for input parameters (Date Parameter) and also want to disable the Date filed so that user can select through the calendar component.
Here validation in the sense, the system must validate the date and alert the user with an appropriate message

I have the same task to validate input parameters with Oracle BI Publisher 5.6.3 running under Oracle eBS 10.5.10.2. My validation goes beyond of what I can do during parameter registration. I am using Data Templates.
My first logical place was the before report trigger. So, I built a report trigger which returns 'false' in case the parameters are not proper. Guess what... XMLP just returns a hard-coded message
!!Error : trigger '" + datatrigger.getName() + "' returns status as 'false'
First of all, this is a bad style to hardcode messages visible by the user (especially during French implementation). Second of all, it is not informative at all. It would be nice to change oracle.apps.xdo.dataengine.XMLPGEN.executeTrigger() to read, for example, a message from the message stack when the trigger returns 'false' and let the user read it.
Anyway, what I did was I built a special data group, decalred before any other data group, query like
select my_package.my_validation fro dual
If parameters fail the validation my PL/SQL package throws an application exception with a message. At least, in this case the error message gets available as the description of the concurrent request.
I wish the before report trigger worked!!!

Hi,
u must be using a procedure or table function that is called in the mapping for execution. When writing the function u would have specified 3 inputs but in the mapping u would have given only 2. check the number of inputs and make sure they match.

How do i call servlet from javascript after validation the javascript

Your javascript code contains a syntax error. That's why the function isn't being called. Take a look at this line in your code.
if ((m>12 && m<100) || (m> = 100 && m<1000) || (m==0))Notice the space between > and =. Remove that space.
m >= 100

Validation of input parameters in Oracle BI Publisher reports

I am new to Oracle Bi Publisher.
In my project i am using oracle BIPfor generating simple reports.
here i need validation for input parameters (Date field) and i want to make it (Date field) disable, so that user can select the date through the Calendar component only.
Can anyone please provide me the solution in detail, it is urgent.

I have the same task to validate input parameters with Oracle BI Publisher 5.6.3 running under Oracle eBS 10.5.10.2. My validation goes beyond of what I can do during parameter registration. I am using Data Templates.
My first logical place was the before report trigger. So, I built a report trigger which returns 'false' in case the parameters are not proper. Guess what... XMLP just returns a hard-coded message
!!Error : trigger '" + datatrigger.getName() + "' returns status as 'false'
First of all, this is a bad style to hardcode messages visible by the user (especially during French implementation). Second of all, it is not informative at all. It would be nice to change oracle.apps.xdo.dataengine.XMLPGEN.executeTrigger() to read, for example, a message from the message stack when the trigger returns 'false' and let the user read it.
Anyway, what I did was I built a special data group, decalred before any other data group, query like
select my_package.my_validation fro dual
If parameters fail the validation my PL/SQL package throws an application exception with a message. At least, in this case the error message gets available as the description of the concurrent request.
I wish the before report trigger worked!!!
