Validation in hierarchy table

Hi Folks'
i have two requirements:
1)can i write a validation to meet the hierarchy value requirement? Under "SEVGVS" node there should not be any node with name"SEFLXXXXX".
If not validation,then how to achieve this?
2)Can we restrict the user from deleting a record depending on the value of a field? e.g: user x cannot be able to delete the record if the value of field ABC is y.
Regards,
Bis

Hi Bis,
Restricting a User from Deleting a record based on a Field value is not possible in MDM.
As far as i know Record Operations like Adding ,Deleting,Modifying etc are specified for a User irrespective of any Field value.Based on his Role and Authorization he can either Delete all record or None records.
A workaround could be :
- Use a named Serach for records with Field Value = XYZ eg  that you do not want the user to delete.
- As it is Named search every time the record has value XYZ in Field it will move to the created Named search
- And then Constraint the specified user from deleting any records in that named search.
Hope It Helped
Thanks & Regards

  • How to transform data from hierarchy table to taxonomy table?

    Hi Friends
    Regarding my issue:
    1) I am having data in the hierarchy table which contains two fields(i.e. code, description) , now we have created another taxonomy table which contains two fields(i.e. code,description) same as hierarchy table.
    2) hierarchy table only contains data, which we have imported data into hierarchy table using import manager. we don't have data in the taxonomy table.
    3) now my issue is,we have to move that hierachical data in the hierarchy table to taxonomy without using import manager, only through the data manager using validations and assignments.
    4) If any one have solution to this issue, please help me out.
    Thanks in Advance

  • Event Handling with Java API.: Adding to a hierarchy table throws 2events

    I´m having some problems with the event handling. I´ve registered a Class with extends AbstractDataListener as EventListener. When there are changes in the product hierarchy table, some extra work should be done. However if i add a new record into the hierarchy, two events are fired.
    DEBUG DataEventListener.java:123 - Added:Development;PRODUCT_HIERARCHY;R17;Getra?nke, SEW
    DEBUG DataEventListener.java:123 - Added:Development;PRODUCT_HIERARCHY;R17;32 Zoll, B&R
    DEBUG DataEventListener.java:123 - Added:Development;PRODUCT_HIERARCHY;R18;56 Zoll, Lenze
    DEBUG DataEventListener.java:123 - Added:Development;PRODUCT_HIERARCHY;R18;20 Zoll, allgemein
    In this case, i added the records "32 Zoll, B&R" and then "20 Zoll, allgemein". As you can see in both cases two events are fired and the first event seems to come with wrong data. The reported id for the newly created record is R17. For the logging, i did lookup the entry in the hierarchy table by id and use the displayvalue of the record. But the first event always shows the displayvalue from some already existing entry.
    How can i avoid duplicate events or if this is not possible, how i can recognize that the display value of the first event is not valid.

    I have not tetsted it yet, because I'm waiting for my server to be updated, but SAP told me that the API version 5.5.42.67 should fix the problem.
    Thanks for your post.

  • How to delete entire data in the hierarchy table,?

    hi friends
    i need to delete entire data in the hierarchy table which contains parent child relationship,when i am selecting entire records and choose the option delete from the context menu, it is not deleting, and i have to delete one by one or i have delete first the child items and later parents items, it is time consuming process.
    Is there any other option to delete entire records in the hierachy table , irrespective of parent and child relationship?
    if any one have solution for my issue, please provide to me
    thanks in advance

    Hi Bharat,
      Unload the Repository and Delete the Table and fields in Hierarchy table and Recreate and reload the data.OIther wise you have to lot of manual work.

  • Duplicate rows in Hierarchy Table created when running incremental load

    I copied an out of the box dimension and hierarchy mapping to my custom folders (task hierarchy) this should create the same wids from dimension to hierarchy table and on full load does this using the sequence generator. The problem I am getting is whenever I run a incremental load instead of updating, a new record is created. What would be the best place to start looking at this and testing. A full load runs with no issues. I have also checked the DAC and run the SDE trunc always and SIL trunc for full load only.
    Help appreciated

    Provide the query used for populating the child records. Issue might be due to caching.
    Thanks

  • Key Mapping in Hierarchy Table

    Hi,
         I have enabled the Key Mapping = Yes  for Hierarchy table. But when I imported the records to the Hierarchy table, I am not seeing any key mapping info for the Hierarchy table records. Any thoughts?. Key mapping does not work for Hierarchy tables?.
    Thanks
    Job.

    Hi Job
    Key mappings work fine with hierarchy table as well.What was the means of import for hierarchy table. If you have used a excel file and while connecting to Import manager which remote system you selected. If you have used MDM as remote system key mapping will be blank. we need to add the record key mappings. Select all the records in record mode for hierarchy table and edit key mappings.
    Also which mode you are ssing the records. This will not come in hierarchy mode, select record mode and check the edit key mapping functionality.
    Please award if useful.

  • Hierarchy table sort order no longer required in 11.1.1.3?

    Hi guys,
    I am working on loading Dimensions through EPMA interface tables. Hyperion version 11.1.1.3. The sort order for the records was not in line with the hierarchy. Still the dimension got loaded without any errors. I remember in the older versions we would have to have the records in the hierarchy table in the right order for the metadata to get loaded properly.
    Just wanted to confirm if this is a 11.1.13 version enhancement and not something that I am missing.
    Thanks.

    Hi Luc,
    I have checked our bug DB, but couldn't find any bug that would explain a change in behavior of processDatabaseChangeNotification() in 11.1.1.3
    On the contrary, we have been working on issues related to NPE during its execution recently (fix will be included in JDev 11.1.1.4.0).
    Could you create a Service Request in "My Oracle Support" and upload your sample ?
    We will have a look.

  • Need to add Run time Validation in Advanced table column

    Hi Friends,
    I've an requirement to add the validation in Advanced table.
    issue is, In eAM Work Order, currently we have ability to add Operation Seq Number as 0, but we need to add one validation to avoid 0 value.
    Oracle gave us the patch but we cannot apply the patch which is bring up the eAM version to higher level.
    decided to handle it in controller and made changes to the handleOpSummaryEvent event.
    Below is my code.
    if("handleOpSummaryEvent".equals(s))
    OAApplicationModule oaapplicationmodule = oapagecontext.getApplicationModule(oawebbean);
    String wipEntityID = ((Number)oapagecontext.getTransactionValue("WipEntityId")).toString();
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, (new StringBuilder()).append("Inside wip entity Id: ").append(wipEntityID).toString(), 2);
    String opSeqTrans = (String)oapagecontext.getTransactionValue("SelectedOpSeq");
    String op = oapagecontext.getParameter("OpSeqSummary");
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, (new StringBuilder()).append("Inside op : ").append(op).toString(), 2);
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, (new StringBuilder()).append("Inside operation Seq Value: ").append(opSeqTrans).toString(), 2);
    ViewObject vo = oaapplicationmodule.findViewObject("OperationSummaryVO");
    if (!vo.equals(null))
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, "Inside vo not equals to null", 2);
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(0,wipEntityID);
    vo.executeQuery();
    int fetchedRowCount = vo.getRowCount();
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, (new StringBuilder()).append("Inside fetched row count : ").append(fetchedRowCount).toString(), 2);
    if(fetchedRowCount > 0)
    RowSetIterator iter = vo.findRowSetIterator("opIter");
    if(iter == null)
    iter = vo.createRowSetIterator("opIter");
    iter.setRangeStart(0);
    iter.setRangeSize(fetchedRowCount);
    Row row = null;
    for(int i = 0; i < fetchedRowCount; i++)
    OperationSummaryVORowImpl operationsummaryvorowimpl = (OperationSummaryVORowImpl)iter.getRowAtRangeIndex(i);
    Number opSeq = operationsummaryvorowimpl.getOperationSeqNum();
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, (new StringBuilder()).append("Inside operation Seq Value 2: ").append(opSeq.intValue()).toString(), 2);
    float f = 0.0F;
    if(opSeq != null)
    f = opSeq.floatValue();
    if(f <= 0.0F)
    //throw new OAException("Enter Valid Operation Sequence Number. 0 is Invalid Operation Sequence",OAException.ERROR);
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, "Inside opseq equals 0", 2);

    oaapplicationmodule.invokeMethod("handleOpEvent", aserializable);
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this, (new StringBuilder()).append("Inside s2 : ").append(s2).toString(), 2);
    Issue is, when ever i create new line and enter any value at operation seq, validation fires and new line is deleted.
    Please let me know how i can fix this issue.
    Thanks

    Hi Friends,
    I solved it by myself.
    if("handleOpSummaryEvent".equals(s))
    OAApplicationModule oaapplicationmodule = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    String s2 = pageContext.getParameter("evtSrcRowRef");
    OperationSummaryVORowImpl rowimpl = (OperationSummaryVORowImpl)oaapplicationmodule.findRowByRef(s2);
    Number opSeq = ((OperationSummaryVORowImpl)(rowimpl)).getOperationSeqNum();
    pageContext.writeDiagnostics(this, (new StringBuilder()).append("Inside row operation sequence: ").append(opSeq.intValue()).toString(), 2);
    if (opSeq.intValue() == 0)
    throw new OAException("Enter Valid Operation Sequence Number. 0 is Invalid Operation Sequence",OAException.ERROR);
    Serializable aserializable[] = {s2, "Summary"};
    oaapplicationmodule.invokeMethod("handleOpEvent", aserializable);

  • Can we import multiple language descriptions in Hierarchy tables of MDM

    Hello Experts,
    I am using MDM 7.1 SPS4 and working on the Vendor Repository standard content.
    My source file of Regions table contains data in multiple languages for each region record. All the required destination language fields have been mapped properly in the standard map. Import action is set to 'Create' for new records and 'Update Mapped only fileds' for existing records. Matching criteria has Name<English> filed defined in it.
    However, after importing these hierarchy records, in data manager only the Name description of English is populated while all other language descriptions for the same record is shown in Red (i.e not populated with the expected data).
    Is this a limitation of MDM itself or am I missing some setting?
    Thanks in advance,
    Elizabeth.

    Hi Elizabeth,
    steps for importing  into hierarchy tables
    To add new multilingual records:
    1 If necessary, create the hierarchy from the current language layer Name field that contains the hierarchy information (e.g. using the Split Hierarchy command).
    2Map the current language layer Name field and then Map/Add the entire set of hierarchy values.
    3 Map the other language layer Name field(s). No value mapping is necessary.
    4 Map the [Remote Key] field.
    5 Record match using: (a) the Name field; (b) the [Remote Key] field (if the Name field was not value mapped); or (c) the combination of both.
    To update the language layer of existing records:
    Map the other language layer Name field(s). No value mapping is necessary.
    Map the [Remote Key] field.
    Record match using the [Remote Key] field and set the import action to Update (All Mapped Fields).
    Just try and if you need any other info then please get back to me.
    Thanks,
    Sudhanshu

  • Extractor for Product Group/Member Allocation- hierarchy (table u2013 PGMI ).

    Hello experts
    I am looking for standard extractor for Product Group/Member
    Allocation- hierarchy (table u2013 PGMI on the ECC).
    Is there a standard extractor for product group-hierarchy?
    Best Regards,
    Tal Shalom.

    Hi Lory,
    I thought the document contained an explanation of remote key mapping. Obviously it doesn't, sorry.
    Setting up remote key mapping is a bit complicated.
    First of all go to the MDM console and check your product category field in the main table (catalog items). Is key mapping set to "yes"?
    then go to the data manager and switch to the table containing the product categories in record mode. Right click on any entry and check the remote key data. Are remote keys available for your product categories. I assume that there are no remote keys available - this is the reason the system behaves as you describe it.
    Setting up remote keys for existing product categories AFAIK can only be done manually in Data Manager. Alternatively you can delete your hierarchy and create it once more, creating remote keys for every entry in the table. You can chose any remote system, it just has to be the same all the time.
    In import manager you have to clode the code field of your product category (basically the material group number) and assign it once to the product category in MDM and once to the remote key.
    Be sure to check your configuration in MDM Import Manager, the entry "Do not update record matching field value" needs to be set to no. Otherwise no remote keys are created.
    Now you can import your categories creating your hierarchy, as usual. The remote keys are created automatically.
    You should assign remote keys to all fields that should be matched in a similar way, UOM, currency etc.
    Hope you could follow this brief version.
    Best regards,
    Marcus

  • MDM Hierarchy Table Into Tree UI Control in ABAP WebDynpro & MDM ABAP APIs

    Experts,
    I am a newbie to ABAP / MDM ABAP APIs. I am looking into the possibility of using Tree as as a UI control in a webdynpro abap application to represent hierarchy tables, perform hierarchy / taxonomy search, create and update records involving hierarchy fields, using MDM ABAP APIs.
    I would like to seek inputs to check whether and how, is it possible to use MDM ABAP APIs to:
    1. To perform taxonomy search on material table
    2. To Create material records in the main table involving taxonomy fields.
    3. To search on main table records using taxonomy attribute values as search parameters.
    4. To use Tree UI control with in WebDynPro ABAP, to peform above operations.
    We intend to use function modules - service calls from within WebDynPro ABAP applications, hence would like to know the feasibility, actual build effort and complexity of function modules.
    Inputs and advice on same will be highly appreciated and duly rewarded.
    Regards,
    Paras

    1. To perform taxonomy search on material table - if material table is of type Taxonomy then possible
    2. To Create material records in the main table involving taxonomy fields - possible . you create records in main table and assign value of field to that of taxonomy table entry
    3. To search on main table records using taxonomy attribute values as search parameters. - possiblr
    4. To use Tree UI control with in WebDynPro ABAP, to peform above operations. - yes possible
    dont mix between hierarchy table and taxonomy table
    they are diff in MDM , but it is possible to build UI with WD tree element for each of these types.
    all that you said are supported in ABAP APIs
    thanks

  • Maintain lookup/hierarchy tables from Netweaver Portal

    How do we maintain loopup/ hiearchy tables from SAP Portal instead of data manager?  Is this part of standard delivered portal content iviews or we need to create custom code to perform this?
    Any pointer or guidance or best practice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I think it is not possible to maintain lookup / hierarchy table directly on portal, you can create lookup / hierarchy data on MDM data manager and by using standard Business content of MDM iview  or by customizing iview you can represent hierarchy data to portal
    refer following link for MDM Portal Content Development Guide
