Validation of more than one control in a report
Hi,
I have two textboxes and submit buttons in my report.One is for Name Search and another one for submitting. If the user doesnt know the name he can enter a part of the name and redirect to a search page.Otherwise if he knows the name,he can enter the name in the second textbox and submit to redirect to another page.
I have separate validations for both these textboxes. For the search textbox , the number of characters in the name should be greater than two.For the submit texbox,i can have maximum of 3 names.
Now, the problem is whenever i click search or submit button,the validation for both the textboxes are fired regardless of whichever button i click even though i have separate builder function for both these controls.
Is there any way to limit the validation of the textboxes to the clicking of the respective submit buttons?
If anyone came accross the same or similar problem before then please let me know if there is any solution or any alternative way to do it.
Thanks in advance
hello,
you can only build one "form" per page in a crystal report as the webuilder function will gather everything on the page.
if you try to build two forms on one page when you press the submit button validation will be done on the entire page.
i would recommend that you create 2 reports, one for the search, and one for the submit...i.e. if the end user doesn't know the name, have a link to direct them to a "search" report. this way you will not have any validation issues.

Cant use more than one authorization group per report with SBO CR Basic
Cant use more than one authorization group per report with SBO CR Basic.
I have installed on SAP Business One SBO 2007 SP00 PL49 the Crystal Reports Basic 2.0.0.7.
i have defined two users, manager and supervisor.
I have defined two groups, M and S.
Manager belongs in managers (M), and supervisor is assigned to the supervisors (S).
i enter to one report, disable the public option to enable group authorization, and then check M group.
Manager can see the report, but Supervisor is not allowed. So far good.
Then i uncheck M, then check S in the report properties, and Manager cant get in, supervisor opens the report, So far good.
But when we check both Groups or more, only the M group authorization appears to work, and S group users cant acess, even the report is allowed for that group, also happens with all the groups appart the first (2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.).
It seems that a report can manage a single group, but i have to be shure to tell this to the customer.
So far we have included all Manager users to the S group in order that only S group is used and authorized users can use, but this is duplicating user participation in groups, and it would be much easier to check the desired groups for a single report.Cant use more than one authorization group per report with SBO CR Basic.

Textfield validation with more than one format
Hi,
I've seen in the past a solution to validate a texfield with more than one format.
Unfortunately, I can't find it back.
I would like to validate the format of Dutch licencenumbers.
There are several formats like:
AA-12-34
12-34-AA
AA-12-AA
AA-AA-12
12-AA-AA
12-AAA-0
one of those formats must be right for validation.
Can sombody give a hint how to do this validation?
Regard,
JanThank a lot!!
I was just forgotten to end the separate groups with a dollar $ sign.
many thanks

Layout issue - More than one table sections on report?
Hello all
I am wondering if any of you know if there is a way to have more than one table or table field on a report.
I'm asking this because I'd like to include a large number of fields in one report, but then that makes the report hard to read (everything is on one long line).
I am wondering if there is a way to have more than one table section on a report so I could have the address information at the top of the report than have other additional information below the address. Basically I'm interested in making things easier to read for the user.Use Pivot tables to isolate the columns you want in each table in your report.

More than one column retrieved in "report and form" page
HELLO!
let's see if anybody can help me with this... i'm sure it's a stupid problem but i really don't know how to solve it.
when i create a new application with APEX, i want to add a "report and form" page. i select the table where de data is, and then click on add page. then i go to the page definition for the form that just has been created but there's no option for selecting more than one column as the link column...
i mean, i want to show a report with all the columns from the table and then, by selecting one of them, the form should display that column but the problem is that the primary key of the table is formed by 6 columns and i always receive the "more than one column retrieved" message as it's trying to retrieve the information using only one column. is there any way to make the link column be composed by 6 or 7 columns??APEX can handle 2 primary key for one table (if you are using the automated fetch row and the automated process row).
In your case, you'll have to create your own "fetch process (page rendering)" and "DML process (page processing)".

How to group by more than one fields in crystal reports
Hi
How to create groups in crystal reports by more than one fields, like
select fields,aggregate functions from table group by a,b,cNot sure if I understand your question, but you you could create a formula to generate the string of data you want to group on. Then simply create a group based on the formula field.
For example, your formula could do something like (assuming all String fields):
{table1.FirstName} + {table1.LastName} + {table1.DateOfBirth}
, and then group on this formula.

How to pass a parameter with more than one value to a report? (urgent)
Hi, all
I try to pass a parameter from a search form to a report in
which I would like to print out my search result. My problem is
I can pass the parameter to report but only one value which my
cursor points to. could anyone tell me how to pass a list of
value to the report? my trigger in form like this:
declare
PL_ID PARAMLIST;
sc_no books.c_no%type;
begin
PL_ID := GET_PARAMETER_LIST('parametername');
IF NOT ID_NULL(PL_ID) THEN
DESTROY_PARAMETER_LIST(PL_ID);
END IF;
PL_ID := CREATE_PARAMETER_LIST('parametername');
IF ID_NULL(PL_ID) THEN
MESSAGE('PL/SQL held against Button failed to execute');
RAISE FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE;
END IF;
ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'PARAMFORM', TEXT_PARAMETER,'NO');
sc_no := :searchlist.c_no; --(c_no is the value I want to pass
but not only one.)
ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'pamametername', TEXT_PARAMETER, sc_no);
RUN_PRODUCT(REPORTS, 'reportpathname.rep', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME,
FILESYSTEM, PL_ID, NULL);
end;
Thank you in advance
DianaIs it your values in parameter NO separated by coma? And is it
parameter in where clause?
Do you want something like :
from table
where s_no in (NO) ?
If is answer "yes" you can create lexical parameter in report.
You can write in report sowething like:
select a.field1, a.field2,.....
from table a
&COND /* this is if is condition only one line after "from".
if you have more lien after where then you will put this &COND
in line where you want to have your multivalue.
Then in your trigger in form you should write:
sc_no := 'where a.sc_no in ('||:searchlist.c_no||')';
ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'pamametername', TEXT_PARAMETER, sc_no);
/* again this is if you have only one line with WHERE ili
conditions */
or you will write:
sc_no := 'and a.sc_no in ('||:searchlist.c_no||')';
ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'pamametername', TEXT_PARAMETER, sc_no);
It will substitute line in which is your conditions with
multivalue. -
Using more than one Query in Crystal Reports
Dear all,
we want to use two queries an combine them in one crystal report.
How does this work?Sorry my mistake.
It IS possible to join results from 2 different BW queries.
What CR does not support is the join between BW data and relational data.
Still the best practice is to do the join in the database (eg. using an InfoSet)
How many rows do you expect to get from each query?

Customers extended to more than one Credit Control Area ?
Hello ,
Please advice ,SAP Customers (payers ) can be extended to more than one Credit Control Area ?
Yes or No ?
Pros & Cons ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
VikasHi Vikas,
You can map one customer to two different credit control areas:
However you need to understand the following points:
1.Delinking of company code to existing credit area (FI)
2.Allow at compnay code more than one control and allow overwriting also(FI)
3.Allow the existing risk categories to work in new control Area (FI)
4.Change layout of customer master (if credit control area is not activated in sales area-Billing Tab)
5.Creation of Validations in FI that No entry to customer ledger shall pass without assignment to control area.
The Process of having multiple control area under one compnay code though not advisable however if business requires this you need to configure.
Pros:
1. Single customer code
2.Credit control division wise
3.AR can be taken division wise
Cons:
1.Master data maintenance would increse
2.user need to put credit area in all transactions specially-Credit & debot Notes (FB70) and advance payments.
If You require any other help pls revert.

How do I display more than one region as a modal popup?
Hello all!
I have a popup that displays a report region. I now want it to display more than one region, say a report region and another report region underneath it.
Here's the code that I currently have (and this one can popup one region):
$.fx.speeds._default = 1000;
$( function(){
$('#ModalForm').dialog(
modal: true,
autoOpen: false,
width: 650,
height: 450,
buttons:{ Calculate: function(){calculateTotal();},
Close: function(){closeForm();}
function openForm(pFoodTemplateId, pMealTypeId)
var getone = new htmldb_Get('shiny',&APP_ID.,"APPLICATION_PROCESS=DUMMY", &APP_PAGE_ID.); // initialize get
getone.add('P24_TEMPLATEID', pFoodTemplateId);
getone.add('P24_MEALID', pMealTypeId);
gReturn = getone.get();
getone = null;
$('#ModalForm').dialog('open');
function closeForm()
{$('#ModalForm').dialog('close');}
$(document).ready(function()
{$('a.temppop').click(function() {openForm();});
});The class of the button (or in my case, the link in another region that's not displayed as a popup) is temppop.
QUESTION:_
How do I edit my existing code, so that it can now display another region?
The ID of the region it displays now is ModalPopup. I would like to add another region, with another ID off course. Pick any ID, as long as you can explain to me how.Magali wrote:

How to exclude one or more than one member on report?
Post Author: izhar
CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
Hi all group members, I am working on BOXI R2. I have to ask that, How to exclude one or more than one member from the report. I know there is function of filter, through which we can see our desired members and other remaining will be excluded, but that's filter. In some of tools i have seen just do right click on a specific member and click on "Exclude" option to exclude the member. Suppose i have placed a Time dimension on the report and standing on "Month Level" which has data from 1, 2, ... 7,8, ... 11, 12 Now i just have to exclude member 7 from the report. Can any member guide me here. Regards, IzharPost Author: jsanzone
CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
Izhar,
If you run the report in "modify" mode, then you have two options
1) You can click on the "Show/Hide Filter Pane" button which opens up the "apply filter" pane. From there you go to your Data panel and grab, drag, and drop an item from the Data panel into the apply filter pane and provide a constant or select a value to filter in or out from your report.
2) You can highlight the column of data that you want to filter on, then click on the "Add Quick Filter" button. Using the List of Values menu you either select one or multiple items that you want to include in the report. -
More than one updatable report on one page.
I hope someone can help me with this.
I've spend a long time looking for the best way to do this but keep running into APEX constraints.
My problem is that I have two tables;
1) an 'object' table with static attributes (that can change value but keep no history).
2) an 'object attributes' table with attributes that can change over time (i.e. keep a history).
Some of the attributes are optional and some mandatory irrespective of whether they are static or timestamped.
I want to design a screen that shows both tables on one page - preferably both updatable on the same screen.
Selecting/clicking a row in the top table (object) will select the appropriate object attribute rows in the table below (I've got that covered - no help needed there).
If I create a new object record I also need to create an initial object attributes record.
This first initial attributes record cannot be deleted while the object exists.
The start date of the object itself and its first object attributes record should remain in sync.
I cannot separate the object table and attributes tables on different pages as all static and timestamped attributes form one collection that needs to be visible and maintainable from one screen.
The problem is APEX will not allow more than one updatable (or interactive) report on one page.
I need a solution where both tables are maintained in a uniform way for the user.
Not, for instance, one table an updatable report and the other a report with detail form.
Anybody struggle with a similar problem and found a solution to this problem?
Any pointers are most welcome.
Ruud.
PS. I have a joined view on both tables with an INSTEAD trigger that can process insert/update/delete's on the combined data however I would not like to use that if I can avoid it. It would mean a repetition of static attributes in the one updatable report.Andy,
Apologies for the late reply - Forums have been out for a while :-(
Thanks for the suggestion. I've had a look at Denes' example and
at least now I know it is possible.
I've asked for access to his workspace but have not been given that
yet so can't look at the details yet but I can make some educated
guesses as to how it was done.
I will give it a try.
I'm still not certain whether having 2 updatable tabular reports is the
right way to go though....
Currently I'm working on a page with 2 navigator reports - one for selecting
the object and another to select the start date of the timestamped attributes.
Next to that I have an updatable detail form that shows the selected object
and attributes as one whole set using the joined view I mentioned earlier.
Inserts, updates & deletes are then done in the form.
