Validation Rule & Report

Hi,
In our Application, FDM is loading data into HFM database even if the validation rule fails.
As per my understanding, FDM should not load data into HFM, if any one of the validation rule doesnot succeed.
Is some settings need to be enabled to perform this check ?
Can anyone guide me.

Hello,
The validation report is part of the 'Check' fish (4th fish). The data is already done loaded at the Export/Load fish (3rd fish)
The purpose of the Check fish (and the report it produces: Validation Report) is to verify the accuracy of the data that was loaded.

Cross-Validation Rules: How to re-validate segments all ready enabled?

Is it possible to call one of the APIs to re-validate the code combinations againts the Cross-Validation Rules? If the enabled flag is set to 'Y' then the CVR is ignored. I am aware of the Cross-Validation Rules Report which is helpful, but I need to go a step further. I'm looking to loop through the gl.gl_code_combinations tables, re-validate the combinations that are enabled, if CVR fails then determine if there are any amounts that need to be moved prior to disabling the combination.
I have a routine that:
1. creates temp table of all enabled combinations
2. loops through gl_code_combinations
3. deletes record from gl_code_combinations, do not commit
4. calls API fnd_flex_keyval.validate_segs
5. updates status of temp table
6. rollback deleted record
7. repeat 2 - 7 until done
8. query gl_balances using temp table combintions that have failed.
I'm a little nervous to run such a routine, because of the delete.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Use where clause for that UDA's in attribute that refer to other attributes data source. the where clause may required use Lookupcodes, these lookup codes may have to be configure in the source attribute values table column.

Validation rule for/against intercompany reporting

Hi,
I need a validation rule which checks that a cons unit does not report intercompany against itself.
Validation should be on individual data records.
Have checked various options, no success so far.
Have you got any hints? thx, Clemens

The only standard validation I can imagine for this is to include each cons unit as a check to ensure the same value is not used for trading partner. This will be an expensive validation is there are many cons units.
Another idea is to use a custom task with code to check this.
Another idea is to include a check for this in the update rules as part of the initial data extraction (if using load from data stream).

BPC Validation Rules and Reports

We have validation rules set up, however, the client wants a report that shows the information that does not validate. Does such a report exist? or do I need to write a script?

Validation rule in Funds management.

Dear Friends,
We use commitment items to monitor the budgets with overall budget for budget type Payment budget
In some cases, users are posting some adjustment entries to transfer the consumed budget values from one commitment item to another.
Ex:
Original Entry: Expenses incurred 1000, So entry booked with PK40, 123456 (expense GL), amt 1000, and commitment item ABC.
So at a later stage they came to know that they have used a wrong commitment item for the above document.(Correct CI would have been DEF)
So they are posting an adjustment entry like
PK40 GL123456 amt 1000 CI DEF
PK50 GL123456 amt 1000 CI ABC
So when i check the funds management doc for the above doc, FM uses VALUE TYPE 66 to do the transfer postings to commitment items, since these documents are giving wrong impact on my CI overall balances report FMRP_RFFMTO31X - Overall Budget -> Totals Records .
For the debit commitment item, it is not adding that amount in invoice column of above report, but it is comsuming the budget. So there is a mismatch in my total record for the debited commitment item.
For the credti commitment item, it is not deducting that amount in invoice column of above report, but it is increasing the budget. So there is a mismatch in my total record for the credited commitment item.
(Ex: Total budget-invoices-open items = Available budget) This is not happening at all
So i tried to restrict these kind of postings with a validation in FM like
Prerequisite: BPJA_VALID-FIKRS = 'AE69' (AE69 is my FM area)
Check: BPJA_VALID-WRTTP < > '66'
Message: Error message.
And activated the same in SPRO->PSM->FMG->Budgeting and Avl Control (Former Budgeting)->Budgeting (Former Budgeting)->Validation rules->Activate Funds Management Validation----
But still i am able to post those kind of documents.
Is there any other workaround for this restriction or can only be restricted by a validation?
Please corret me if i am wrong in validation condition expressions.

Hi,
Actually we are using a Z program, which is copied from standard program as said earlier.
In the z program, we made some conditions to treat value type 66 also as like 54.
Now we are getting our report as expected.

Filter data by cross validation rules

Hi all,
Is there any way to build report that filter out data by cross validation rules ?
For e.g:
Acc. Flex -> Company.CC.Natural.Future.
The cross validation rules are excluding CC -> 01 and 05.
So all the combination_id that contains CC 01 and 05 will be filter out.

Perfect! This is how you define cross validation rules. It's not back to front but from R11.0.3, Oracle standard is to use the cross validation rules like this.

Validation Rules in SRM

Hello Gurus,
I am a new to SRM. I needed to understand if we could set up any CO validation rules in SRM. For e.g. in R/3 we use transaction GGB0 to set up FI and CO validation rules.
1. Is there any transaction to set up validation rules in SRM?
2. In general, is there a process of validating the master data in SRM?
My Scenario:
We are creating an expense report in SRM for employee expenses incurred. Once the expense report is entered in the SRM portal, a trip data is created in R/3. We check the trip data for an employee in R/3 using PR05 and continue posting to FI/CO.
We would like to set up a validation rule in SRM (rule contains combination of GL account, cost center and statistical WBS element) so that when employee tries to post expense to a wrong combination of (GL account/cost center/statistical wbs) the system should give an error message while entering the expenses in SRM. How can we achieve this scenario?
Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks in advance for your help.

As of i knew there is no validation rule exist in SRM as exists in ECC.
if you require you may need to via RFC call only and validationd done by BBP_DOC_CHECK bADI.
there may not be any front end validation rule combination of GL account and account assignment. It allows to enter any availble GL accounts ( in the ECC) / cost center with any combination .

BUG: Declaring Method Validation (Validation Rules)

Situation:
WHen I create validationXXX() on Entity level or validationXXX(...) methods and I set my custom error message (MessageBundle created for this Entity) and then rum UML application or tester for application module I didn't get defined message. I got some generic message.
Same thing happend when I create validation rule and connect to entity or attribute.
What do I wrong or anybody help me?

Messages provided via the editor when you select a method-validation rule are generated in the message bundle file but are not used at runtime when the method validation fails. The expectation is that the method itself will use the message when throwing an exception. However a number of folks have reported this confusion via OTN and other means and an ER (2716501) has been logged to modify this behavior so that if the user does not throw a JboException in the method itself, that the framework will pick up the supplied error message to throw.

FDM Validation Rules

I wrote a validation rule in FDM for the check report. I want to check the value of assets - equity - liability. After I write that code, the report looks good as long as the result of that calculation is not zero. But if the result is zero, the line is marked as ERROR. Any ideas on how to avoid it?

before i add <plug-in ValidatorPlugIn ... everything works fine with tomcat 4.0.4, JDK 1.4.1.02, struts 1.2.4 and Hibernate and MS access. But when I add plug-in to use default validation error occurs.

Please check the syntax of the StrutsConfig.xml (As wel as other XML files)or check for the Data Type Defination of the XML for the Tomcat version you are using.

TB Check - Validation Rules

If I want to write a code for checking the TB is balanced, where would I usually do it? Is it in scripting or validation rules?
I tried to write a validation rule stating that "assets - equity - Liability = 0" and I want to see the value of that calculation in the check report. But I could not get that value in the check report. Although in the check report, I could see that the status of the rule shows as fails. But the Value column does not show the actual result. Does anybody know how to display the value column with actual result of the calculation and still show the status as failed if "assets - equity - Liability <> 0"

This can be done by both ways..
Using Script at After/Before Validate you can write a script for checking Balance Zero..
and If balance is not zero then you can push the workflow to previous step so that wrong data should not get exported.
For Validation Checks:
According to ur condition;
In validation rules, go to the rule
And in Rule Tab->Display section .. type: assets - equity - Liability
Then test rule and check Test Display... it will show the value difference.
Then run check report it will show amount of Test display in value column

Your error message are not displaying because u does not made Message-Resoucrce property file (Resource Bundle) when you make it .
give it entry in
struts-config.xml

I have not looked closely, but C1 is showing as "Missing Value". Have you checked to see if [None] is a valid member for the account you have selected (TotalLiabilities)?

Exit in the Validation rule is not working in Project system

ADF: showing error message on a validation rule programatically

i m using ADF. i ve a form that contains input text that is binded to a managed bean property.
that input text value is inserted into an entity attribute.the attribute in the entity has a validation rule.
i submit the form and in my managed bean i call

am.getDBTransaction().commit();A strict NO NO for doing this. You add the commit action to the binding and call the execute the commit operation binding programatically.
i m using ADF.ADF is vast. Be specific on the technologies you use (ADF BC and ADF Faces?)
that input text value is inserted into an entity attribute.the attribute in the entity has a validation rule.Are you doing something special with the binding you have in bean? If not, why don't you Drag and Drop the VO from the data control directly? (set the af:messages tag to have inline=true).
