Validation statement next to submit button

I created a survey where the top half portion of the questions are required. If the user scrolls all the way down and hits submit without answering questions the validation pop up shows next to the required questions but since the user is at the bottom of they page they do not see it.
How can I program for a statement to read "*required questions" down by the submit button anytime any required question is missed.
Thanks.

You need to add a trigger to start the function as follows

Sorry, it is nearly impossible to format the code in this forum and the characteristics change by the second.
If you have a look near the end of the line of code above, you will see an onsubmit event that calls the function.

How do I change the states of the "Submit" button in adobe muse? Currently I can only change the color, text and stroke of the button, but I cannot customize it as I have the other buttons in the tool.

I want to replace the button with an image, however it does not permit me to paste an image into the button, nor does it allow me to delete the box that is currently there. The best I can do is paste the image into the text box that is provided.

• Tabbing to "Prev", "Next" and "Submit" buttons in FormsCentral template

I try to use my mouse as little as possible when entering data in forms. How does one tab to "Prev", "Next" and "Submit" buttons in FormsCentral template so that all one has to do is press "enter" on the keyboard or spacebar?

Thanks Roman for your response. Press Tab or Shift-Tab works fine on my Windows computers but does not appear to work on my IPad. Maybe it’s an Apple thing. BTW – loving what I’m seeing so far in FormsCentral.

• How to use Spry validation with link styled submit buttons..??

I'm working with a theme package that comes with a bunch of button styles that work with basic links. For example:
Button Label
I've got a basic form setup with Spry validation, but the submit button needs some styling to make it look nice with the site. Since there are already styles ready for me to turn links into buttons I figured I'd use the same thing for my submit buttons.
To accomplish that, I'm using the following javascript...

And then I'm updating my submit button to something like this...
Button Label
When I do this, the form submits as expected, but the Spry validation doesn't work. Is there a way I can make the Spry stuff work with these types of buttons? I know I could create separate styles for the submit buttons themselves, or I could use an image type button, but I'd really like to figure out how to get these existing styles to work for me since the theme already has so many of them done for me.
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

• How to open a new OAF page in new window while clicking submit button

Dear All
I am facing one problem.I have to pass some parameter in new page only after validation.I can't do validation in processRequest bacause I perform validation after clicking the submit button.
So I have to write redirect code in processForm Request. I can not use simple "Button" bean since I have to set destination uri which could be set only in processRequest.But I can not pass parameter with it in process request.
Thats why I have decided to use submit button but there is not target frame option in property inspector,So I am not able to open it in new window.
Kindly give me some suggestion .
Thanks in Advance

hi,
u can use submit button. U need to handle submit button press in processFormRequest method.
if(pageContext.getParameter("Submit"!=null))
// validate your parameter
if parameter u capturing are valid then...
pageContext.setForwardURL(func, params ...............) // check devguide for details
if u want to access these parameter in second page . you can write this logic to processRequest of target page.
U can refer toolbox tutorial drilldown and createpage examples for implementation details.

• Spry validation issue with submit button

Hi,
I'm new to Spry but am having an issue getting it to work at all. I created a very simply form (i.e. table with Spry text field and submit button). I've read many articles and been to several forums, but I can't seem to find the issue I'm having. Basically, when I go to preview the page in a browser, the table with the Spy text field and submit button comes up fine, but when I hit the submit button, I see the page refresh and any values I had in the text field disappear, but nothing ever comes up saying "A value is required," which is what I'm looking for. This happens even if I don't have any values in the text field. Below are images of what I'm describing and also the code. I verified that the "Required" check box is checked in the SpryTextField and the submit button action is selected to "Submit Form." My setup is Win 7, DW6, & XAMPP. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Do yourself a big favor and don't waste time with Spry Validation. Most modern browsers support HTML5 forms with the required attribute.
If you must placate older browsers, use jQuery validate script. It's lightweight and works when HTML5 support is missing. You can see an example below. If you hit submit with empty form fields, the required fields pop-up with messages. View source in browser to see the code.

• Client side validation with submit button in another region

Hi,
I have two regions, one containing a form with input texts for the user to fill in, and another region with a command button. A few of the input fields use the ADF "required" validator.
My problem is that when I click the submit button, and it does some logic to commit the form to a data base, even if the validator triggers and says that one of the required fields is empty, all the other fields get committed, except the ones that are empty. They get the last valid value.
What I want is the button to trigger the ADF message that doesn't allow the user to continue with the update. This doesn't happen though.
Anyone have any ideas? If you need a more thorough explanation, please let me know.

Regions work as indipendent pages.
Yet if submit buttons are partialSubmit="false" then both regions (pages are submited).
Still there is a bug when commiting data:

• Custom validation is disabling submit button

Hi there,
I am using the update/insert feature within ADDT, but wanted to use my own validation using JavaScript. Everything works fine, the validation pop-up works etc, but the submit button is disabled. I'm guess that the transaction has started with the ADDT, but the javascript has stopped it. How can I get around this? any suggestions welcome...
Thanks in advance...

Hi,
Have you tried different browsers to double check. I remember a couple months ago I was helping someone with a similar problem, it worked in one browser fine but not the other so we had to rewrite the code. Initially the code looked fine but just didnt work in IE.

• Customizing the text of next,back, and submit buttons in form guides

Hi,
We are preparing some forms in Turkish language. So, we need to change the text of next, back and submit buttons in the form guides. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks for your help.

This can be done via Flex Builder. There is a good Next panel button example in this guide:http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/es/fggettingstarted.pdf. I believe you can also control the text via the style sheet applied to the guide.

<mx:Button click="{panels.selectedIndex++}"
enabled="{panels.selectedIndex < panels.length-1}"
xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">

<mx:Script>

import ga.views.PanelListView;
private var panels:PanelListView = PanelListView.instance;

</mx:Script>
</mx:Button>

• Submit button in Cap 7 quiz does not advance learner to next quiz slide

I created a 5 question MC quiz in Cap 7. When I take the quiz in the preview mode, I am able to advance to the next slide by clicking on the submit button. Well, when I click on the submit button, a pop up appears that says: Correct - click anywhere or press 'y' to continue. Once I click anywhere, *then* I am taken to the next question.
However, when I take the quiz in a web browser, I cannot advance to the next slide, even when I answer the question correctly. I click the submit button. The same pop up appears as in the preview mode: Correct - click anywhere or press 'y' to continue. So, I click anywhere but nothing happens. The slide does not advance.
I've created a few quizzes before in Cap 7 using the same settings so I was stumped when the quiz didn't work this time. Maybe I accidentally changed a setting??

The jump to slide works great. Yes, the user goes right back to the quiz after remediation. The user can then change her answer and click submit. However, she can not advance forward. Sigh.
I am a freelancer who inherited the template from the former freelancer. I was told to use her template to create the trainings. So I am. I was supposed to use all the settings she used, too. That's why the Required is set to: User must answer every question'
I can try your idea and the Requirements in the settings.
What's odd, though, is that I've developed a Quiz using these same exact settings and it worked perfectly. That's why it's odd that the Quiz is no longer working correctly.
Okay, let me try to change the Required settings.
By the way, the submit button works fine in the Preview mode, just not the Web Browser mode.

• Submit button not taking user to the next slide...

Hi there,
Hopefully this is a simple one!...
The submit button in my quiz does not take the user to the next slide, it just seems to lock and you have to click on the forward button at the bottom of the screen. Does anyone know why this is and how to fix it? I cant use a submit all button as that seems to take away the Action section from the master slide.
Thanks

Hi there,
Swift reply as usual!
I actually solved this one.. I just had to add "go to next slide" in the advanced action!
I did have to copy and paste all my work into a new project though.. must have had my second bug of the week!
Thanks anyway
