Validation - "There is no attribute onLoad"

The XHTML Transitional validator tells me "there is no
attribute onLoad". Is
there a way to use JavaScript rollovers and have the pages
validate?

    You can either ignore those errors (since they have no impact on your page's functionality) or you can use DW to convert your page to an HTML5 doctype (File > Convert > HTML 5, and then the errors will go away.

  • Another "there is no attribute "height" "question.

    I really don't understand css. I want to learn more, but i don't know where to go to learn more.
    My web site looks perfect through Fire fox, but in IE only 2/3 of the site works.
    With enough research i found a site where i can input my sites address and it will tell me the errors.
    http://validator.w3.org/
    On this site it gives me errors such as "there is no attribute "height", and a few simmilar postings.
    I have been trying to fix this. I have looked at multiple pages/posts that i have found via google, as well as this adobe forum site.
    I still dont have an understanding of how to fix these problems.
    I was hoping that someone could send me a link of where to go to learn this, or show me how to fix this. I need to learn this to fix the other problems, but i need to see this in laymans terms so taht i can understand it.
    Here is what it says:
    Line 169,         Column 45:     there is no attribute "height"
    …able id="Table_01" width="980" height="400" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspa…
    (the validator makes the " between height= and 400" red)
    I have tried height="400px" and every different combonation that i have come across to try.
    Also my code stops at line 195 in dreamweaver (which is blank) the site says there are errors on lines 197&198, but where so i find those lines?
    Example:
        Line 198,
            Column 10:
        document type does not allow element "noscript" here
        <noscript><a href="http://www.hosting24.com/"><img src="http://analytics.hostin…
    Here is the site i am working on, if you need to see the code etc. Thanks a lot for ay help you can give me.
    http://committed.netai.net/index.html
    Also. I make the sites pictures,banners/sliced and link buttons in Photoshop. I then add them to Dreamweaver.
    So why do i get code errors? Shouldn't Ps and DW be more compatable and not have any errors?
    Is it just that IE is so different that everyone has to redo code to conform to IE?

    @Nancy O.
    Thank you so much for the information and the links!
    Removing the height from the css made the error go away.
    I did use a spry menu bar for the links. I then added in pictures for the buttons that i made in PS.
    The reason i am using the free site that i am, is that this is my first real web site. It doesnt have to be ready for months and i wanted to make sure i could do the project before it goes on a pay site.
    @hans-g.
    Here are a couple of pictures from my Fx and IE.
    Fx http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z100/micro5797/Kommitted/homeFxupload.png
    IE http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z100/micro5797/Kommitted/HomeIEupload.png
    In these pictures, why is the linkable lower banner section that says "Desktop" higher then the rest of the banner?
    Is that a problem that occured in the "slicing" in photoshop?
    In DW i set the border to ) trying to fix the problem, but it didn't make a difference, that is why i assume d that it may be an error listed in http://validator.w3.org/ , but now i see that it isnt.

  • Validation based on view attributes

    JDeveloper 11.1.1.x
    What is the best practice to create validations based on a view attribute from a view object that is of a level higher in the hierarchy?
    For example:
         * Use the departments and employees tables from the hr schema.
         * Create an EO for only the employees table, so not for the department table
         * Create VO's for both tables. You should create the Viewlink manually between both views.
         * In the query for the department, add a calculated field in the query.
         For example : availableSalary : 100000 - (select sum(salary) from employees where department_id = Departments.DEPARTMENT_ID) availableSalary
         * I would like to add a validation on the salary field of the employee EO, that says that the new value shouldn't be bigger then the availableSalary field
         Be aware : that when changing an existing salary, only the difference between the old and new salary should be taken into account
         (This removes the "Compare with View Object Attribute" possibility :-()
         * I also want to use some fields from the departments view in my error message on the salary field of the employees EO.
    How can we best tackle these requirements ?
    Thank you in advance.
    Filip Huysmans.

    Filip,
    I think you are trying to avoid the lesser cost of a Department Entity by an extremely expensive way to get to the comparison done. Firstly, you wire a view instance with an entity, which is strange as there is no association between the entity and the View Object. So all you would have is to access a method in the AM Impl method that looks up the VO and returns the current row's information you need. This AM method can be referenced from the entity object using groovy to perform the comparison (you see that even this is kind of awkward as it connects the entity to the AM, producing a tight coupling that makes any of your code reviewers shake heads in disbelieve). Assuming the update of the VO updates the entity (Departments EO you don't have), you could follow an association using Groovy to perform the validation (which I think sounds easier to do (though by the small cost of creating an EO)
    Btw.:
    if you have a ViewLink defined then the transient attribute can be easier calculated using Groovy
    10000 - DetailTargeName.sum('Salary');
    I would think its less expensive then running a SQL query for each department Id

  • Newbie Question:  Validating Input on Class Attributes

    I created a Domain called "ZTRANSMISSION_LIST" that has two values "MAN" and "AUT".  Next I created a Data Element called "ZTRANSMISSION_TYPE" of type "ZTRANSMISSION_LIST", my Domain.
    So, I created a class called "ZVEHICLE" and create an attribute called "TRANSMISSION" of type "ZTRANSMISSION_TYPE" (my Data Element) thinking that if I did something like this in code:
    DATA v TYPE REF TO zvehicle.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
    CREATE OBJECT v.
    v->TRANSMISSION = 'XYZ'.
    it would cause an exception because "XYZ" is not a valid entry in the ZTRANSMISSION_LIST domain but the program compiles fine and the code executes without a problem.  What gives?
    How should I implement this?  I wanted to take advantage of the Domain but looks like I'm not going to be able to.  Does this mean I'm going to have to hard-wire these codes into my program for validation?

    I thought we went over this before?  There is no connection between the domains and the values that you can pass to attributes within the class.  What you can do is have a method which you pass the value to, and inside the method you can check this value against the values within the domain, if it is ok, then update the attribute of the class, if not raise an exception.  Here is the function module which you can use to retrieve the values from the domain
    method fill_attribute_value.
    data: idd07v type table of  dd07v.
    data: xdd07v like line of idd07v.
    call function 'DD_DOMVALUES_GET'
         exporting
              domname        = 'ZTRANSMISSION_LIST'
              text           = 'X'
              langu          = sy-langu
         tables
              dd07v_tab      = idd07v
         exceptions
              wrong_textflag = 1
              others         = 2.
    read table idd07v into xdd07v with key domvalue_l = im_value
    if sy-subrc <> 0.
    *  Raise the exception, value does not exist in the list.
    else
    * Ok, then fill the transmission attribute with value.
      me->transmission = im_value.
    endif.
    endmethod.

  • How to enable regex validation for display name attribute?

    I need to put some control around the display name attribute (for all objects in the system). However, when I go to administration => schema management => all attributes => display name, I see the regular expression text field under validation
    tab is disabled for display name. How can I enable this? I see there is already an MPR called "Administration - Schema: Administrators can change selected attributes of schema related resource" which is granting admins to change the schema of
    the display name attribute, but it does not seem to help for the above scenario. Can someone please help?

    Hi,
    This is true for all attributes, not just Display Name. As long as an attribute has a non null value, you will not be able to change the regular expression of that attribute at the schema level.
    I don't know if nullifying display attribute for all user objects (assuming you are talking about binding between Display Name and a Person/User object) is an option. If so, its worth considering.
    If that is not an option, then assuming your data entry is coming from the FIM Portal and not any other external system like a custom portal, then you are ONLY left with regular expression validation at the RCDC level.

  • Adding the unique validation on child vo attribute

    Hi, I'm using Jdev 11.1.2.0 I have two tables, master child relationship. In master EO1, I have column Master_Id and in child EO2, I have columns Master_Id, child_id, child_name. i have created the assosiations in beteween EO1 and EO2 with the column Master_Id. and creatd vo's and viewlinks also. and when i drag and drop the master vo and child vo on to the page, if i select master vo first row, the correspodning child records are displayed perfectly. Now I want to apply the unique validation on the child vo columns  child_id and child_name. like Child vo data;
    Master_Id
    Child_Id
    Child_name
    1
    1
    A
    1
    2
    B
    1
    3
    C
    2
    1
    A
    2
    2
    B
    2
    3
    C
    if I select 1 in master table, then in child table if i create a row and inserting the data, it should check for the duplicate data is there or not under that master_id. I did adding the Custom attribute validation on EO level, like checking the value is existed in the given rowset or not. Instead of adding this custom attibute validation, is there any other way to do it on the EO attribtue level, like  selecting the generate unique key constraint. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.

    In this car you only can validate using have methods or groovy.  Read http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/adf/ADFFD/bcrules.htm#CIHBBDDB for more info about this.
    However, if you have the relationship you should have the pk fk too.

  • Is there a bug with OnLoad in V2.2?

    I put the following "alert('Hey')" (including the double quotes) in the Page's On Load Page HTML Body Attribute. I expected Application Express to generate:
      <body onload="alert('Hey')">but it generated:
    <body alert('Hey')>and I do not see the alert. What am I doing wrong? When I try to put
      onload="alert('Hey')"into the field I get the following Application Express error when I try to Apply Changes:
    1 error has occurred
        * You may not declaratively set cursor focus if you specify an ONLOAD in this attribute. You can programatically set cursor focus by using the following syntax:
    onload="mystuff(); first_field();"The only way I was able to get this to work was to put
      "alert('Hey')"in the field, export the application, edit the export putting in
      onload="alert('Hey')"import the file, and run it. It works runs fine. If I try to edit the onload attribute, I get the error.
    I have an example with the application export: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=21812
    I tested this in v 2.0.0.00.49 and I am able to enter the onload command into the field.

    Hello,
    I will try again. 'IF' you want a custom javascript onload, lets say onload="doSomething('custom javascript')" you need to turn off the Cursor Focus so it will look like this.

    <img src="http://i8.tinypic.com/25a6vys.png" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic">
    <br><br>
    If you still want to focus your first item with your custom javascript you need to include it in your onload by hand like this,
    <br><br>
    <img src="http://i8.tinypic.com/25a6zya.png" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic">
    <br><br>

    Hi Tim,
    Specify the ENCTYPE with the htmlAttributes attribute.
    Also, use hide="false" so that your webflow request parameters (like event="my.custom.event", etc.) are not included in the encoded body of your request. Webflow can't get the event, etc. from the body of the request because HttpServletRequest.getParameter() does not work for multipart encodings.
    <%
    moreAttributes = "ENCTYPE=\"multipart/form-data\"";
    %>
    <p>
    use enctype="multipart/form-data" and hide="false"...

  • Why is there a length attribute in setBinaryStream()

    Hello,
    I am wondering why you have to supply a length attribute in method setBinaryStream(). Normally you do not know the size of the data stream, especially if you create it by marshalling java objects in a separate Thread. For such a case I would like to use the possibility to work with streams when writing to the database. But not knowing the length of the data is a problem. InputStream.available() is not a solution, as it only gets the number of bytes that can be read non-blocking.
    The only workaround I can think of is writing in a temp-file, getting its size and creating a new InputStream out of it to write to the database.
    Do I miss something here? I think there should be a more elegant solution...
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    I'm using this API with the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 driver (on a SQL Server 2000 database).
    Microsoft's implementation of this interface (documented here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms378983.aspx) allows -1 to be supplied as the length parameter and it will read to EOF.
    So this code works for me:
    PreparedStatement pstmt = con.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO Files ...");
    pstmt.setBinaryStream(5, inputStream, (int)size);
    It looks like Sun have updated the documentation of this API with JDK 5 also:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/sql/PreparedStatement.html#setBinaryStream(int,%20java.io.InputStream,%20int)
    To quote: "... When a very large binary value is input to a LONGVARBINARY parameter, it may be more practical to send it via a java.io.InputStream object. The data will be read from the stream as needed until end-of-file is reached."
    After investigating this lead, I have found this code works also:
    pstmt.setObject(5, inputStream);
    Perhaps the length parameter was included in the setBinaryStream method in the API because some databases need to allocate space in advance of saving the stream. For those that don't need to allocate space in advance, their drivers might typically accept -1 as the length, and read the stream to the end of file. It's possible that supplying it when it is available might allow the database to allocate space in advance, which might improve performance (this is speculation).
    It has taken me a long time to sort out this issue! The main problem was that older API documentation failed mention that it was possible to stream without specifying the length. To anyone in a similar situation - read the JDK 5 API documentation and documentation on your driver's implementation of PreparedStatement.
    In summary - I can confirm you don't need to specify the length of a stream for MS SQL Server databases.

  • Validation errors reset item attributes

    I have some java script code that gets executed with an onchange event to set the disable attribute of other fields. It works great. But if I get an error when validation is run, it resets the item attributes back to disable=false. Why is this and how do I get around it? Thanks in advance for your help.

    The disabled values will be reset as the page is reloaded after the validation errors and the onchange event isn't triggered.
    You can force your javascript to run whenever the page is rendered (and this would be on the initial load as well), by adding a call to your function somewhere underneath both the function and all relevant fields. So, add something like the following somewhere at the bottom of your page:
    &lt;script type="text/javascript"&gt;
    set_other_fields(document.getElementById("ID_of_the_field_that_has_the_onchange"));
    &lt;/script&gt;Because this isn't within a function block itself, it will be run as soon as it is loaded by the browser - hence ensuring that everything is on the page before this point.

  • Is there a per attribute size limit for ldapmodify?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to replace an attribute using ldapmodify (directory 4.12) that is just over 2Mb. When I try I get the message "can't contact LDAP server" - the server is running. If I drop the size of the attribute below 2Mb I can successfully import.

    Just looked at the docs and assume that it's maxbersize.

  • Validator Errors and the Fix

    Hello
    I need to understand the mistakes, apply the corrections.
    I want to offer a basic page ( http://www.meherbabalibrary.com/babalist/list_g/list_g.html)  and ask for assistance. It is without CSS, with Divs - a basic unpopulated page with navigation bar.
    I ran this page through www.validator.w3g.com and validator found 18 errors.
    To have explained a few mistakes that will give me an understanding. I need to understand the dynamics that are involved in correcting the mistakes so that I can apply the corrections on this page and other pages that have been created.
    For example I have a series of errors on line 111:
    <body leftmargin="5" topmargin="5" marginwidth="5" marginheight="5" onLoad="MM_preloadImages('../../buttons/bhr.gif','../../buttons/kkr.gif','../../buttons /dvdr.gif','../../buttons/cjr.gif','../../buttons/avr.gif','../../buttons/bsr.gif','../.. /images/shack/0_Shack_MBBks.jpg')">
    <div id="pageContainer">
    I see the validator has highlighted in red most of the quotes  - and if I remove all quotes in red and then view the page in web browser most of line 111 is transformed into text. That experiment did not work.
    However if I run validator as Group Error Message by Type those reds quote show  "there is no attribute X". I don’t understand this.
    On line 115 is another series of errors and again the ' " ' symbols are highlighted in red.
    <a href="../../index.htm" target="_top" onClick="MM_nbGroup('down','group1','bhb','',1)" onMouseOver="MM_nbGroup('over','bhb','../../buttons/bhr.gif','',1)" onMouseOut="MM_nbGroup('out')"><img src="../../buttons/bhb.gif" alt="" name="bhb" width="120" height="41" border="0" onload=""></a>Th
    I Googled the errors. I am unable to understand the errors and the appropriate method to fix the errors.
    there is no attribute "onClick"
    there is no attribute "onMouseOver"
    there is no attribute "onMouseOut"
    there is no attribute "onload"
    end tag for "img" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified
    Thanks for indulging this long query. To wrap up I see in a few lines the "You may have neglected to close an element" supported with 'end tag for "img" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified'.
    Again I ran validator as ‘Group Error Message by Type’ the end tag for X omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified".  I hope this question isn’t too long as I really need to learn how to apply fix it routines after running the validator.
    Thanks

    You could eliminate many of your errors and code bloat if switched from image based menus to CSS styled text links.
    Below is a quick example (no images required).  Copy & paste this code into a new, blank page.

  • Validation errors javascript navigation bar

    I created a navigation bar using Dreamweaver CS3 wizard. I
    got several error messages. After I replaced all the uppercase
    letters with lower case, I had only one error message. I know
    nothing about javascript and I may have messed something up.
    Dreamweaver put the navigation bar in a table. I got rid of the
    table and put it in div tags. I also moved the part that goes in
    the head to an external sheet. Here is coding from the page:
    quote:
    <div id="mainNav">
    <div class="buttons"> <a href="#" target="_top"
    onClick="MM_nbGroup('down','group1','home','images/buttons/home2.jpg',1)"
    onMouseOver="MM_nbGroup('over','home','images/buttons/home2.jpg','',1)"
    onMouseOut="MM_nbGroup('out')"><img name="home"
    src="images/buttons/home2.jpg" border="0" alt=""
    onLoad="MM_nbGroup('init','group1','home','images/buttons/home1.jpg',1)"
    /></a> </div>
    <div class="buttons"> <a href="javascript:;"
    target="_top"
    onClick="MM_nbGroup('down','group1','About','images/buttons/about2.jpg',1)"
    onMouseOver="MM_nbGroup('over','About','images/buttons/about2.jpg','',1)"
    onMouseOut="MM_nbGroup('out')"><img name="About"
    src="images/buttons/about1.jpg" border="0" alt="" onLoad=""
    /></a></div>
    <div class="buttons"> <a href="javascript:;"
    target="_top"
    onClick="MM_nbGroup('down','group1','support','images/buttons/support2.jpg',1)"
    onMouseOver="MM_nbGroup('over','support','images/buttons/support2.jpg','',1)"
    onMouseOut="MM_nbGroup('out')"><img name="support"
    src="images/buttons/support1.jpg" border="0" alt="#" onLoad=""
    /></a> </div>
    <div class="buttons"> <a href="javascript:;"
    target="_top"
    onClick="MM_nbGroup('down','group1','contact','images/buttons/contaqct2.jpg',1)"
    onMouseOver="MM_nbGroup('over','contact','images/buttons/contaqct2.jpg','',1)"
    onMouseOut="MM_nbGroup('out')"><img name="contact"
    src="images/buttons/contact1.jpg" border="0" alt="" onLoad=""
    /></a></div>
    </div>
    <!--mainNav-->
    And the error messages:
    quote:
    Line 33, Column 302: there is no attribute "onload".
    …/home2.jpg" border="0" alt=""
    onload="MM_nbGroup('init','group1','home','imag
    /Q]
    If I may throw another javascript question in.... Dreamweaver
    threw something into the body tag that appears to be preloading the
    images
    "<body
    onload="MM_preloadImages('images/buttons/about2.jpg','images/buttons/support2.jpg','image s/buttons/contaqct2.jpg','../images/buttons/home1.jpg','../images/buttons/home2.jpg')">"
    Can this be moved to the external sheet or is this the same
    thing which is in the external sheet:
    "function MM_preloadImages() { //v3.0
    var d=document; if(d.images){ if(!d.MM_p) d.MM_p=new
    Array();
    var i,j=d.MM_p.length,a=MM_preloadImages.arguments; for(i=0;
    i<a.length; i++)
    if (a
    .indexOf("#")!=0){ d.MM_p[j]=new Image; d.MM_p[j++].src=a;}}
    Thanks.

    It should only take you a few weeks to discover what a bad
    idea this is,
    then.
    > I need to make sure the links are not broken.
    DW will not do this. Furthermore, if you rename or move a
    linked file, you
    will break that link, since DW cannot manage them either.
