Value presented as "#########"

I have a project that has been unchanged for quite a long time, but today after resurrecting it it is having problems. Upon previewing the project, it presents a certain value as "#########", but is still able to use the number as if it were there, and accurately, in subsequent calculations. So while my final values seem to be fine, this particular field probably confuse my users.

What probably happened is that you did not relink the cells when you changed them in Excel? Most users think that once they make a format change in Exel (such as color, number format, size, cell size etc) it will reflect directly on the components once the re-import the worksheet.
In actuality you have to relink all of the cells associated with the change for the component to reflect the updated format. It does not happen automatically (this is true for Xcelsius 4.5 / 2008).

when we validate the selection screen elements, if it come acrosses any error condition it disables every field in theselection-screen enabling the error field(error value is still present). this works fine here.
but i need to clear the values present in that field.to retain the values im using memory ids.

Use FREE MEMORY.
FREE MEMORY deletes the entire ABAP memory including all the data that was exported with EXPORT TO MEMORY ID key.

Displaying text whenever there is no value present in Database

Hi
My business demands that a text 'Defaulted to Zero' be displayed if for a given combination of columns there is no data present in the Fact table.We use oracle 9i.
I have already used the number format where we put a value for the undefined value to display a text N/A where ever the value is not applicable.But i need to display text "Defaulted to Zero" wherever the value is applicable but NOT present in database!!
Can this be acheived in Bo level,I am using BO XI R2.?
This is a very urgent requirement as my project delivery is scheduled.!!

You can create a new local variable to report (called something like "NVP"), leave it as a "Dimension" and in the formula type:
if([col_a]=0 or [col_b]=0;"NO VALUE PRESENT")
Basically, you are using the "if" function and the syntax is very much like used in excel except you separate the arguments with a semi-colon versus a comma. You start out with "if()" and within the parenthesis is a logic statement followed by when true do this else that (with the "else that" portion optional as shown above). The drawback to using a local variable is that every report you write must be customized with the local variable versus establishing this logic in a "case" statement when building the data mart and thus it becomes resident and usable like any other column of data in your database. In some cases you are forced in using it as a local variable due to variations in the data and the logical outcome is not known until the very end of all computations, and at other times you can get away with embedding the logic at the time of constructing your data mart -- it all depends on how the data is used and sliced and diced. I am using 11.1.1.5 version of OBIEE. I have a dashboard prompt that contains a value for a list of departments. I want the user to select multiple values. I am pushing these values into a presentation variable called deptname. I know would the multiple values in a formula. I want to do a filter using a statement like this. I don't get an error. It works for one value but not for many. I have tried to use it with an in clause but can't seem to get that to work either. Formula is below. I have also been playing around with quotes since these are strings. Any help is appreciated. I only want the value in the formula filtered not the whole report which is why I am doing it this way. The below works for one value. Returns blank for more than one value.

Variable, hierarchy, only leaves with posted values presented

Hello friends
Small question on strange behavioyr in BEx query. The query is based on the multiprovider built with Info Cube and a characteristic Cost Element. The columns are restricted using "constant selection" and the option to present all values is on. I have the Cost Element in rows and I display it using external hierarchy. When I run the report, I can see al of the values of Cost Elements, both for posted and not posted amounts. When I create the variable based on the Cost Element Info Object (hierarchy node, optional one), I have the values only for posted Cost Elements, even if I don't put the value of this variable. Any idea on this?

Making a JSP Form read only based on the form value present in DB

I need suggestions/examples as i am newbie into java stream.
I have two JSP pages 'Add Page' and 'Edit Page' .
Add Page -> In add Page,I have many text boxes,select drop-downs options. In one select drop-down I have values as Locked and open .I can save this page contents in DB by entering those form values.
Edit Page -> In eidtPage,once saved in DB, based on 'select drop-down- Locked and open' If it is locked i have to make all the fields (text boxes and select drop downs) as read only and if it is open i have to make it editable.
I am taking all the values from DB,setting to 'form bean' and then setting up the values in session and forwarding it to JSP page to populate there .I am using beehive net UI tages in JSP. Please help me out.

Not sure I'm following what you want, but this might help:
In your select tag, put something like an 'onchange' event that calls a javascript function. In the javascript function it you add code to enable or disable your other fields based on the item selected from the drop down box.
To determine what item was selected in a select tag, you write something like the following. I'm not sure of the exact syntax. You can look it up in a javascript book:
var optionSelected = document.forms[0].selectTagName.options[document.forms[0].selectTagName.selectedIndex].value;
To enable or disable a textfield, search for this in google:
'jquery disable input'

Read and sort values present in .ini file

Hi all,
I have a .ini file in which a set of modules with there order of execution is mentioned.I want to get all these values sorted as an array so that I can proceed with the execution of each in the order mentioned.The module list in the .ini file looks like this:
Here, digits represent the order of execution of module.
I should get output as an array with following values:
1 MNO
2 DEF
3 STU
4 PQR
5 GHI
6 VWZ
7 ABC
8 JKL
I know about config data and read key vis but since the module list is huge I dont know how to write an efficient code for this.All suggestions are welcome.

Add 2 Pie charts in your Report (Align top
& Left Same Size ) .
Set Background Color Transparency 0%
Set Data Value Presentation value for 1 st (Outside)
Percent for 2nd (Inside)
Make size of the pie as per the value presentation .

Charactersitic values to be used in IFTHEN ELSE STATEMENT IN QUERY

scenario: i need to use the characteristic values(not the attributes) to be used in an IF THEN ELSE STATEMENT in query. so i created a formula variable for the characteritic of processing type replacement path, replace with key.The values are not fetched in the result and is displayed as X.
what should i replace with key,lable, constant or other options whereas my requirement is the all the values present in the characteristc should be used.
eg. if char name is xyz and has the values 1,2,3,4,5 till -
20.
then in a calculated key figure :(formulavariable =1)* kefig1keyfig2 +not(formulavariable =1)kef2keyfig3.
this formula variable should have all the values of the characteristic values ie 1,2,3---20.
2. how should i do get the values of characterstics values in the equation give me the steps in detail..
3. i do not want to use the attributes, though i tried initally while creating the formual variable i replaced with attribute value, there is was an error and there were no reult.
i tried to create char. variable for the characteristic of manual entr , not ready for input values and gave all the values 1,2,3 --20 as default values and then created formaul variable and repalce with the variable, however this characteristic variable is not at all displayed from the list of variables which will be displayed while creating the formula variable.

so this formula variable of replacement path have ref. to then char. and with what value should it replace, key, name, external char or attribut etc so that i should get the values of the char from 1 to20.
i donot to repalce with the attribute. i just want the char. values and not thier attributes (1. description 2. the second attribute has the values say abc1,efg2,ghi3 for respective charteristic values.

How can I get the total "values" in a hashtable ?

i know that i can get the total values in a hashtable by hash.elements() method. It returns an
enumeration with all the values present in this hashtable. this is fine upto here.
Now the preoblem is:
According to what rule this enumeration will be returned. I mean..
If i added in key A with value a,
then key B with value b;
then key C with value c;
then key D with value d;
(They all are objects of type String)
now i call ... hash.elements(); Suppose it returns Enumeration enum;.
Now in what order they all are present in this hashtable.
Meaning is that if i move arond this enum in what sequence they all will be returned.
option A ) In the same order as they were inserted in hashtable.
option B ) According to LIFO;
option C) There is no fix rules , simply it return all the elements and u cannot judge that the first element in enum was really the first element inserted in the hashtable and the second element of enum was really the second element inserted in the hashtable.
What do u think..which option is correct ?

u will find that its not LIFO..really i was thinking before coding my project that option A is correct and with knowledge i wrote 3 - 4 classes but when i run the programm its starts throwing errors.
so, i posted this question. I think "apppu" is right.
I think , firstly hash is calculated for each value and that value is returned which can be received in a fastest way and hence not necessarily in LIFO and FIFO..

How to read all values of a queue

Hi All,
In Message mapping I am checking condition for field value based on incoming value.
In test cases i can see the second or third occurence is getting supressed and first value fails the condition and mapping node not created.
I would like to know how to read multiple values from queue and check condition for each value and if correct value present condition should pass.
I tried all possible context changes but no luck.
Any ideas how to read all values coming .

How to select several values from a user exit variable in a planning folder

Hello,
I have created a user exit variable for limiting the values only to which the user need to access.
For a simulation part, it is then necessary for him to select several values from these values (not only one, and not all)
But It seems in this case the user has only two possibilities :
- keep all the values without any restriction
- restrain the selection to only one value.
It seems possible for the user to access to a multiple choice window, but this possibility doesn't seems to work : in all tests we did, only the first value was taken into account by BPS.
If this method is not good do you know an other manner to permit the user to choice several values amongst a set of pre-selected (because the original set is too important) values ?

Thanks for your response, but I don't think it corresponds to my problem.
I my case, I use a user exit variable to filter some data. It seems BPS offers the possibility to the user to select several values amongts the pre-selected values presented by the user exit variable, but it doesn't work. We can use a popup in which we enters the required values, but in final, only the first value is taken into account.
I don't know if it is due to a BPS bug or if it is not a good solution in regard to BPS philosophy. In this case, the concerned caracteristic isn't in the header but in lead columns.
I must present a solution to my client next monday, so I have not enough time to open an OSS message.
An alternate solution should be interesting too.
My need is to present to a user a selection of values amongst all values from an infoobject (the user exit variable seemed to be a good solution) and the user must have the possibility to select some values amongst these as filter.

Is there a way to apply noise reduction based on ISO value?

I shoot a lot of sports using auto ISO which means I get hundreds of images from a day with a variety of different ISO values, including all sorts of intermediate values (like ISO 280, for example). There are times when I'd like to apply LR noise reduction across the whole batch of images, but I'd like to apply it based on the ISO value of the image. For example at ISO 1250 and above, I want a particular NR Luminance value. From 640 to 1250, I want a different value. From 400-640, a different value. I know you can define some things at import time based on ISO, but that doesn't seem practical when the ISO value can be nearly anything as it would take hundreds of import profiles.
So, any ideas how to apply NR based on the ISO across a batch of images?

Yes - Lightroom presets are absolute, but unlike the default settings, presets don't have to specify all the settings. If a preset setting is specified, it will blindly overwrite the previous setting, if not specified then the previous value will remain unaltered.
DevAdjust supports relative presets: final-value = present-value +/- relative-preset-value
