Values to IDoc fields

Hi all,
I am doing a JDBC to IDoc scenario. In my message mapping, IDoc is the target message. This IDoc has many nodes named <b>SEGMENT</b>. In the occurences column, these <b>SEGMENT</b> nodes have the value "<b>required</b>". But i am not knowing to what values these nodes have to be defaulted to.
Expecting your replies,
Divija.

Hi,
As suggested, I gave blank constant values to the <b>SEGMENT</b> nodes also <b>I removed the mapping which was present between access and Idoc nodes</b>. Now when i see the XML file in SXMB_MONI the error is changed to "<b>Unable to convert sender service SenderService to an ALE logical system.</b>"
Also when i go to the list of adapters in the adapter monitoring in Runtime Workbench, I am not able to see the IDoc adapter.
Can anyone help me with this?
Regards,
Divija.

  • How to know where the value of a field in an IDoc is saved?

    Hello SAPients!
    I'm working in ECC 6.0. I have an Inbound Idoc of type WPUBON01. In the segment E1WPB01it has a field named BONNUMMER. My question is: How can I know what TABLE-FIELD is being populated with the value of that field? I mean, is there a way to know the mapping of the fields of an IDoc?
    Thank you in advance for your kind help.

    Hi,
    The table name is WPLST
    I did the following..
    Go to the segement structure in SE12..
    Double click on the data element for that corresponding field..
    Then put a where used-list for that data element...To search in tables..
    I got the table WPLST.

  • Idoc field with Blank value

    Hi,
    I am sending data from one SAP system to other SAP system. I am using standard IDoc FIDCCP02 and sending this Idoc with the help of function module MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE.
    In this IDoc I want to send field 't_e1fiseg-prctr' with no value, can you please let me know how I can do this ?
    When I am trying to pass space then this field is not appearing in target system.
    Many Thanks.

    Hi,
    If there is no value in the field/segment, then the field/segment won't appear in the isoc, hence to make it appear you should pass the value '/' in the field.
    Note: when we do this we are indicating the system, it tells the SAP system that there is no data in the field, the same thing we do when we manually process IDOC by WE19 Transaction.
    Please validate the same at your end, please come back, if any more inputs from my end are required.

  • Are idoc fields case sensitive?

    Hello, there has been an error during idoc processing. The trading partner field was filled in lowercase and this is bringing me error      Message no. FB279  ' Company dp0017 is not defined'. The other idocs had DP0017 filled in and were processed fine.
    Any input on this? thx.
    Edited by: Antish  Awootar on Jun 7, 2011 8:02 AM

    Hi Antish,
    It actually depends on the value that is stored in the IDOC, if the IDOC has company code in lower case then that is exactly how it will be used in the program for all purpose and no automatic conversion is applied. The below message is thrown in the FM - FI_COMPANY_CHECK This FM will look up the table T880 - If you check the entry in this table will be DP0017 and not dp0017. Hence it is throwing the error message.
    If your question is it works fine when i try in SE37 with the FM "FI_COMPANY_CHECK" or if i input "dp0017" in  WE19 or in SE11 against T880, then the reason for that is a conversion is applied automatically and it is changed to DP0017.
    To answer your question "Are idoc fields case sensitive?", it depends on the context, does it retain the case when it is filled in, yes it does.

  • Any transaction to see the content of IDOC field ??

    HI Gurus,
    We have 1000's of Idocs of a particular type processed correctly in our system.
    However one of them had BAD data, which also got processed  in SAP.
    So I am trying to find out which IDOC it was.
    Going through WE02, its proving very difficult to go one-by-one into each and check the contents.
    I need to look for  IDOC where the value in field KUNNR = 'DUMMY'.
    So is theer a transaction/program which can let me know which IDOC number has the value 'DUMMY' in field KUNNR.

  • How to map empty IDoc field

    Hi everybody!
    I want to map the value of a source field through a <b>FixValues</b> function to the target field. Unfortunately this is an IDoc field which sometimes doesn't even exist (i. e. it's not just empty - it's not even there). In this case the <b>FixValues</b> function suppresses the output, and there is <i>no</i> output - not even the <i>default</i> value of <b>FixValues</b>. However, the requirement is that I always have to generate a default output - even if the input field is empty/missing.
    Ony ideas how this could be done?
    Regards, Joerg

    Hi Himadri!
    Thanks for the quick response! I tried to create such a que. However, it doesn't remove the SUPPRESS from the queue. Here's the code:
    // Two input params: src[] and def[]
    // src contains the input queue (with SUPPRESS values)
    // dst contains (hopefully) only one value - the default value
    int n=src.length;
    result.clear();
    if (n==0) {
      result.addValue(def[0]);
    else {
      for (int i=0; i<n; i++) {
        if (src<i>.equals(ResultList.SUPPRESS)) {
          result.addValue(def[0]);
        else {
          result.addValue(src<i>);
    What am I doing wrong?

  • How to map Idoc fields with external file

    Hi All,
    How to map Idoc fields with external file.
    I want to check the settings where Idoc fields are mapped with external file.
    Thanks in advance.

    If you have configured a fileport where on trigger of IDOC you are creating the file, you can look at the message type documentation and get the offset values for each field in each segment

  • IDoc fields, when empty

    Hi all,
    I have a requirement to send IDoc to external system. When there is no corresponding data, IDoc fields are not filling.
    I need to fill blant value to the IDoc fields and send to external system.
    I don't have permissions to change the standard code.
    My doubt is: Can I fill the empty field in conversions or in any other place, other than coding? is BD64 useful to fill the IDoc field?

    Hi Kanagaraja,
    I am sending the IDoc to PI system using ALE. The IDoc is CLFMAS. when ever a Material Master IDoc generated, subsequent CLFMAS will be generated. The IDoc filling logic is actually in Master_IDoc_MATMAS FM. I think I don't have permissions to change the coding, since its a standard IDoc and some other systems also using the same IDoc generation logic.

  • Missing IDOC field in XML after IDOC reimported in ESR

    Hi Guys,
    I have just reimported my IDOC in ESR wherein an additional field is added.
    However, when I test a message, the IDOC field is missing in the XML payload upon entering PI even though I have entered a value in the IDOC.
    Flow:
    SAP ECC > PI
    I have also already updated my message mapping. I'm not sure if I have missed any steps after importing the IDOC in ESR.
    Could you please help me on this issue?
    I'm using ICO by the way.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Neil

    Hi Neil,
    As Shanthi said you need to update metadata but since you are using ICO you need to do it in NWA.

  • Changing value of a field in mapping as per condition

    Hi Experts,
    I have one requirement in IDoc mapping to EDI structure.
    I want to change the value of a field depending on the condition. But the problem is the field is mapped at higher level than the condition.
    For example:
    Say i have a source structure in IDoc with name Source1 and target structure Target1. Source1 is mapped to Target1. Both of these structures have multiple occurances. So in general out structure will look something like below:
    Source1-> Target1
    Source2->Target2
    Source3->Target3
    Now i want to change value of one field from Target1 structure depending on Value of one field from Source3. At the runtime when Target1 structure is getting filled Source3 value is not visible so I am not able to set a proper condition.
    When at lower level we get value of Source3 can we change value of already filled structure Target1?
    Thanks,
    Atul

    Hi Aamir,
    Thanks for your reply.
    If possible can you give any sample code for this kind of UDF?

  • Mapping Query.. Hardcoding many values to single field.!!

    Hi ,
    The structure looks like below..
    E1EDK14 ..              0..12
            QUALF            0..1
            ORGID ..           0..1
    The values which i need to hardcode are below.
    E1EDK14-QUALF    = 006
    E1EDK14-ORGID     = 10
    E1EDK14-QUALF   = 007
    E1EDK14-ORGID    = 12
    E1EDK14-QUALF   = 008
    E1EDK14-ORGID    = 210
    I need to hardcode the values to the above Idoc fields(QUALF and ORGID).All the above 6 values has to appear in the Idoc structure. (ie. E1EDk14 segment will repeat for 3 times)
    I do not know how we can hardcode three values.
    Can one pls suggest me how i can acheive it??
    Waiting for your answer..!!
    Note : There  is no condition as If QUALF = "XX" then ORGID = "YY". My Situation is i need to hardcode evything.
    Regards
    Deepthi.

    Deepthi,
    The soln is simple. In the mapping right click on the node E1EDK14 and select "Repeat Node" or "Duplicate node". I forgot the exact menu name.
    Once you do this. you can see the node E1EDK14 2 times in target. Now just map 006 to QUALF of 1st E1EDK14 and 007 of 2nd E1EDK14 node. Repeat this till you get the desired result.
    P.S: Make sure you map the E1EDK14 nodes with a empty constant.

  • Creating SDATA value of IDOC

    Hi
            I am trying to create an IDOC in MII 12.1. IDOC is having a tag known as SDATA where we put all the values. For each field in SAP there is a column length. If our value for the field is less than the maximum length of the column we put a space for rest of the length. I am adding this space in MII using some string method which takes more time. Does anyone have any idea of adding this space more smartly. Please let me know
    Thanks in advance

    I have used xsl to do this.

  • Assigning a default value to a field

    Hello Everyone,
           Could you please tell me how to assign a default value to a field in a transparent table, so that while creating an entry even if we don't enter the value, a default value will be assigned.
    Thanks,
    Anbu.

    Like this
    DATA: BEGIN OF itab OCCURS 0,
            field1 TYPE c VALUE 'X'
            field2 TYPE c,
          END OF itab.
    append itab.
    append itab.
    You will have by default X set in both rows for field1.
    Regards
    Marcin
    PS: Ooops I just noticed you meant transparent table but I wrote about internal one. As long as you maintain that table using maintenance view you can use event 05 - When Creating a New Entry and set fixed value for a field there. So whenever you create new entry it will receive that value.
