Variable in SAP SCRIPT

Hi Guys,
I want to print a variable Value from Print Program to SAP SCRIPT, I tried to print it in between && but they still dont have any value while debugging SAP SCRIPT and not also in print out....Suggest somthing.

Hi,
Debug your program and c whether you are getting your value there. If yoes, check if you have used the function module OPEN_FORM and passed the correct name of the SAP script. Then check if you have used Write_Form and are you passing the correct Text Element Name.
You would not have used one of them. Hence the problem.
Check and revert back.

Displaying variable in sap-script

Hi folks,
       I need to pass a variable to an existing sap-script. But that window is not calling form the print program. It just called dynamically, which contains current date and time. In that window i need to pass the variabe. But the value to the variabel is coming from the print program. How can i pass this variable to the script now...pls help me.

Small doubt on displaying variables in sap script

HI all,
Can anyone let me know if i am in the correct way or not.
i'm modifying one existing script. to display some data in the script i am doing like this :
get the data into itab.
loop at itab into wa.
call FM write_form
element = 'TEXT'.
endloop.
in the layout i am using this elements and variables
/E TEXT
S1 <D1>&WA-FIELD1&</> <D1>&WA_FIELD2&</>
but the work in not having any data in the layout whereas before call write_form its having data.
can anyone suggest me who to deal with this.

You can check if your SAPScript is able to talk with the driver program.
In SE71
Open in Change Mode
Form > Check > Text
Select the Include Res checkbox .. Press Enter
Enter your Program in the Next popup by "Append Print Program"
Now, press Copy.
It will show you the errors.
In your proram WA must a in TOP include or Globally declared.

How to find length of a character variable in sap script

Hi,
I have stored a line of text in one variable. If the text exceeds more than 50 characters, the remaining characters will be printed in next line.
For this i have given code as :
<I>&S_BOL_SUMMARY-TXT(50)&</>
<I>&S_BOL_SUMMARY-TXT+50&</>
The problem is i have to print the second line only when the text exceeds more than 50 characters. So how can i give the condition for that?

hi Gopi,
it is almost the same as normal ABAP, you only have to use & before and after the variable and the variable has to be in capitals and you have to make the line as command ( /: before the line )
IF &A& > &B& AND ...
text to print
ELSEIF ...
text to print
ENDIF.

Dump error when clicked on text elements in SAP Script window

There is an inclusion in SAP Script. I have written the code in driver program. I need to pass the value to SAP Script in the requested position. But when I go to SE71 > Form Name > Change or Display > MAIN Window > Text Elements > I get a dump error.

     Error in the ABAP Application Program
     The current ABAP program "SAPLSTXK" had to be terminated because it has
     come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
What can you do?
     Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
     To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
     administrator.
     Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
     at and manage termination messages, and you can also
     keep them for a long time.
Error analysis
     An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
     The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS', was not
      caught in
     procedure "TOKEN_COMMENT" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
     Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
     exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
    The reason for the exception is:
    In the executed program "SAPLSTXK", the system attempted to access the field
    "ITF_TOKEN" of the type "C" and with the length 255 using the length 272.
    However, a partial field access with a length specification that is
    larger than the field length is not allowed.
How to correct the error
    Reduce the length used to access the field.
    If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
    find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
    If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
    keywords:
    "DATA_LENGTH_TOO_LARGE" "CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS"
    "SAPLSTXK" or "LSTXKFRN"
    "TOKEN_COMMENT"
    If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
    notification to SAP, include the following information:

       To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File

       Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
       Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes

How do I open the text elements? I need to pass the variable inside SAP Script.
Please Help. The requirement is pending from very long. Not able to rectify this issue.

Just see these:
&symbol(Z)& Omit Leading Zeros
&symbol(S)& Omit Leading Sign
&symbol(<)& Display Leading Sign to the Left
&symbol(>)& Display Leading Sign to the Right
&symbol(C)& Compress Spaces
&symbol(.N)& Display upto N decimal places
&symbol(T)& Omit thousands separator
&symbol(R)& Right justified
&symbol(I)& Suppress output of the initial value

Program variable used in sap script

Hi all,
I am trying to use program variable in sapscript with format &wa_ekpo-ematn&. I am sure in the program the field wa_ekpo-ematn has a value. But when I trying to call function write_form. All the text is displayed but all the program symbol just like &wa_ekpo-ematn& are missing.Anyone can tell me how to include program variable into sapscript? Thanks a lot.

Can you be a bit clear, how are you passing &wa_ekpo-ematn& to SAP Script in driver program(could be helpful if u can paste piece of code) and Where do you want to print &wa_ekpo-ematn& (I mean in which Window, with what element) in SAP Script (how).
Is that totally customizied Script or Standard Script made to Customized.

SAP-Script - Draw Table (Boxes) with variable number of lines

Hello,
I want to create a Table with Frames in a SAP-Script Form. First of all I don´t know the position of the table in the window main. It can be page 2 or 3 on top or in the middle. But i have to describe a position like
POSITION YORIGIN '12.95' CM. How can i position the table in a variable way?
And i don´t know the number of lines of the table. How can I manage to draw the correct numbers of boxes as numbers of lines exist?

Hi carsten,
1. Drawing GRID (just like excel, matrix)
   is very cumbersome in sapscript layout.
(either dynamically, or hardcoded)
2. Moreover, the final look,
   may or maynot appear as requried,.
ie. exactly with proper alignment and grid lines.
3. If the font size is required to change,
then the dynamic position also changes.
4. If the grid is supposed to go to the next page,
again the calculation and logic becomes tougher.
5. To use grid, its better to use smartform,
   which provided FINE CONTROL of the grid
and its lines and width, height, style etc.
6. In sapsctip, at most we can use
   UNDERLINE (_) and PIPE (|)

Variable window in SAP script

Hello Friends,
I have a problem in SAP scripts while printing an internal table data in to a variable window. It is overwriting the contents.
Ex:
In my internal table (itab) with only one filed (text) have the below data.
Firt line
second line
third line
fourth line
I am looping the internal table and within the loop I am calling the write form.
In script I am writing like below
&itab-text&
In the output I am getting only last line.
Output:
fourth line.
But I need to print all lines one by one.
Please help me.

You can't print internal table data in Variable window, you have to print them in Main window
The function module WRITE_FORM_LINES allows multiple lines to be APPENDED to a non-main window. You should note that the text lines must have the SAPscript ITF format. In the absence of other information, the system uses identically named formatting attributes (character and paragraph formats) of the form to format the content of the text lines.
Here is an approach which allows multiple records / lines to be output in a variable window.
If you transfer your information from the internal table into the text lines, complete with appropriate formatting symbols, you will find that the text lines are output nicely formatted in your non-Main window.

concatenate '<B>' WCSCATALOG-CODEX '</> ,, ' WCSCATALOG-STXT into ltline-tdline.
append tline to tlines.

/ means LINE FEED: It means suppose if u want blank line betweeen 2 lines then u mention / between those.
e.g A3 &----
     A3 &----
/= mean EXTENDED LINE :
This is for extended lines means suppose u mention one variable in one line and give tabs then ifu mention another varialble then automatically that variable will adjust the next line with this command
e.g. S1 &scsy-datum&,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
        /=      &itab-name1&.
It menas in the output date and name1 will be displayed in the same row.
(BLANK) mean CONTINUOUS TEXT:
    Suppose u r writing the body of the script menas it is cintineous text. automatically it will adjust wiht the blank.

Hi Binu,
It is not possible to rotate text in SAPscript. The usual work-around, provided this is static text and not from a variable, is to scan an image of the text and include it as a graphic.

How to display line items twice in a single page in sap script

HI,
I am working on check printing. I copied the standard driver program and form to Zprogram and ZForm. Which are RFFOUS_C(print program) and F110_PRENUM_CHECK(Form Name).
I want to display the line items twice in the same page and sub sequent pages.
Currently I am able to display line items only once.
Example:
PAGE1.
line item1
line item2
line item3
line item4
line item5
line item1
line item2
line item3
line item4
line item5
line items 1 to 5 which are in main window.
How to achive this problem.

I had the same request for a check form in Canada. I solved it by writing the line item output into variables and print these variables in a second window. It was ~10 hours of effort, not a real nice technical solution but it worked.
