For this i have created dynamic variable with the last refresh date.
1) This variable will fetch the last refresh date in dynamic variable.
Can you pls help me how can i apply this variable in all subject areas in time dimension
Regards,
Kumar

No need to available it , you just need to use it using expression where ever it is possible.
Check this http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23549_01/bi.1111/e10540/variables.htm
To keep it Physically as you need you may need to create a new logical column Time Logical table in BMM and then use expression as repository variable and put that column in all subject areas

  • Resetting a variable deletes cache in all subject areas.

I have a static variable as maxdatadate which I use in only one BM LTS to filter data. (There are about 30 BMs in the repository) When I reset this variable to a new date, I lose cache related to all the BMs. Has anyone experienced the same? Version is 7.8.4. Is this corrected in newer versions?
    Thank You

  • IChat says I'm available, but all buddies are grey...

I have been successfully using my iChat AV for months on my university's internet network. When I came home to visit, I began using my family's internet connection through a wireless connection. Everything else works fine except my iChat. It logs me in and says that I am available, but all the names are dimmed (grey). I know for a fact that people are logged on, because I then go to aim.com and sign on and there are several people on. Does anyone know what could be going on?
    Thank you!

  • All subject areas missing in Manage Privileges section - disappeared.

When I go to Settings -> Administration -> Manage Privileges, I unable to see any of my Subject Areas in the list. I see other options to manage access to Answers, Dashboards, etc - but no option to disable access to any specific Subject Areas. It suddenly disappeared when i was changing permissions within presentation Catalogs in the PS. Has anyone seen this happen before? Dont know how to get them back?

Go into Answers first, then go to Manage - Privileges. I have seen when you just go into Privleges through the Dashboard page you won't see the Subject Area. My only assumption is they are loaded when you go to Answers.

  • Meaning of (000) fields in the analytics subject areas

What is the meaning/difference between Total Liabilities and Total Liabilities (000), and all such pairs of these type of dollar fields
    (Potential Revenue, Closed Revenue...)

    (000) are fields which are available in Analytics subject area. If in system your total liability is 1000 then under total liability(000) it will be displayed as 1.
So, No difference practically. You can use any of these fields.

  • List of Dimensions by Subject Area

    Hi
How do i find the list of available Dimensions by subject area, for example - Project analytics.
    Thanks

    Hi,
What do you mean by Subject Area?
    1. OBI Presentation Layer Subject Area:
Then you can use "Display Related" functionality of OBI repository - it will list all the physical/logical objects for each subject are
    2. DAC Subject Area
Then you can use either DB scripts in the DAC metadata schema or easier refer to metalink Data Lineage document for the version of OBIA that you are using.
    Hope it helps,
    Michal

  • Subject areas and connection pools

    Hi,
Could you let me know what is the best option for me. We have tables coming from single data source. We are doing diffferent subject areas based on the requirements. My question is is it best to do different connection pools for each subject area or just do one connection pool for all subject areas.

    Hi friend,
i think the best option depends on number of user will use the application. If you a have a high number of user on each subject data, i think it will be better have a connection pool per subject area, because the connection pool have a maximum number of concurrent connection. On the other hand, if you have a few number of user, one connection pool will be enough.
For futher information, take a look to next link:
    http://www.appsbi.com/obiee-connection-pool
I hope this solve your doubt.
    Regards.

  • Can the current subject area be determined?

    obiee 11G
I would like to create a session variable that contains the users current subject area.
Does anyone know if that is possible?

On our system, any user can only be in one subject area at a time.
We would like to set query limits based on the subject area. For example, someone using the Human Resources subject area would be allowed to have a query time limit of 5 minutes. Someone using the Finance subject area would have a query time limit of 3 minutes.
(These are just hypothetical subject areas and time limits used for the example.)
Usage tracking accesses that information somehow, but I cant use usage tracking because that is already too late.
So if usage tracking can determine which subject area the user is accessing, I would like to know if it is possible for me to determine the subject area that the user is accessing.
I just want to know if there is a way to populate a session variable with the users current subject area, so I can use the subject area to set the time limit.
I already know how to set the query limit, I just need a way to determine the users current subject area.

In Oracle CRM On Demand Release 16 Transfer of Information New Custom Objects Analytics Functional Overview,
"M:1 or M:M subject areas, such as CO1 and Opportunities, are simpler to use, but require specific subject areas for each M:M association.
We only have subject areas to cover the association with Account, Contact, Opportunity, and SRs.

  • Not able to see all the subject areas with BI Author and BI Consumer roes

    Hi All,
Recently we have upgraded to OBIEE 11G and we have created new users and assigned groups in the new 11G.
Generally users sholud be able to see all the dashboards and subject areas with the default BI Author and BI Consumer roles.
But in our 11G system users cannot see all the subject areas with the above groups, only if we give the BI Administrator role the they can see all the subject areas and dashboards.
We cannot give BI Administrator role to all the users....Please advise.
    Thanks
    Praveen.

    Hi,
Check the application roles of BI Author and BI Consumer, they must be having BI Author and Consumer Groups. Check the privileges for Users and Application roles in Catalog manager for Dashboards and Check the Permissions for Users and Application in RPD for subject areas. Make necessary changes, restart BI server and Presentation services. Now users should be able to see  dashboards and subject areas,
    If it helped mark Helpful/Correct

Regarding iTunes U courses, would I be able to link to books/sites (like say an amazon hardback book or link to a kindle book they can purchase and download).  Considering that not all books are available on iBooks I'm hoping this is allowed.   Also the possibility on monetizing since amazon gives commission for linking.
This question is for both the uncredited (private) courses and the bigger accredited accounts.    I am a  developer trying to learn how to help my area schools and also have some ideas for my own courses.    Obviously keeping within the iTunes U app would be preferred in most cases (to the learning experience) since they can take notes and see them within the app itself.
If the reply comes from a non-apple employee please let me know (or better yet, link to) where that is clarified.   I would hate to develop something just to later find out it is against the apple iTunes U agreement.

    Fair question
And, to be even more fair, I have to tell you that I get that every single day. And it's getting worse (or better, depending on how you look at it).
I always try to let people know it's a long way until you get to a confortable point, a point where you can create something. And that's exactly what I am trying to do, or at least asking how/if I should do it. And then I let them know where to start. That's what I want.
    Thanks.

How can I import all my gmail contacts into iPad? I use iPad mini and the solutions available on the web are not compatible.

Hello and thanks for the answer.
I meant by "not compatible" that all the solutions that I found on the web did not work, especially the "Microsoft exchange" one.
Fortunately I found on the comments of the first website you mentioned the right answer for me, which I copy below:
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add CardDav Account.
Enter the following information in the fields:
    Server: google.com
User Name: Enter your full Google email address
    Password: Your Google account password
Select Next at the top of the screen to complete the setup.
After you have completed the setup, open the Contacts app on your device. Syncing should begin automatically.
    Additional Information
Note: Make sure that SSL is enabled (under Advanced settings), and that the port is 443.
If you are using application based special password go to https://accounts.google.com/Se... and instead of your password put that special code and u r done.
