Variance between MB5L and MMBE

Dear all,
My client finds the variance between these two t codes for one specific material.that s why they are not able to pass the balance sheet.
Please let me know the possible reasons. Kindly let me know through functional side instead of going through tables.
regards,

HI
MMBE gives the total stock in the plant for a particular material, and the storage location. It also displays the correct Batch to which the stock belongs.
The total stock for this beit in unrestricted use, Blocked stock, return stock, Quality stock all is shown in this MMBE
MB5L gives u the stock position as against the date. U can select the current period, previous period or the fiscal yr which is desired.
Also the stock as per the val;uation class and the G/L account concerning the vauation class is displayed.
Hope this helps.

  • If stock variance between books and physical stockin sap what we will do

    Hi,
plz  any body explain for this  questions
1.if the price variance between gr and invoice in this case what we have to do
2.if stock variance as per  books and physical stock in this case what we have to do
    thanks
    bye

    Hi,
Pls. see following for your query.
1)if the price variance between gr and invoice in this case what we have to do
Maintain Account Assignment for FI-MM integration with T Code OBYC.  Select Transaction PRD and maintain GL Account for Price Difference for the Chart of Account.  This account will be posted for the difference between GR and Invoice.
    2) if stock variance as per books and physical stock in this case what we have to do
There is a process called Physical Inventory.
T Code MI01 - To enter Physical Count of the Material.
T Code MI07 - To post the difference between the system stock in SAP and the Physical Count of the stock to get the stock in system matching with SAP.
Usually, the material is blocked for the posting during the process of Physical Count to avoid any posting of material for which physical issue or receipt is yet to happen for better reconciliation.
Hope this helps.  If helpful, reward suitable points.

  • Difference between CO09 and  MMBE Transactions

    Hi All,
Please let me know difference between CO09 and  MMBE Transactions.
FOr particular material and plant ,Quantity 1 is there as FGI  in MMBE screen but it is not there in CO09 for same material in the same plant.
    Regards
    Nidhi

    Dear Nidhi Srivastva
MMBE(Stock over view ) : By using this transaction code we can get the information pertinent to the particular material stock levels in the respective plant and storage locations.
With the help of the detailed display we will know wether the material is in transit mode ,restricted ,unrestricted and so on........
CO09(Avilability overview): With the help this we will know when the order was raised and the confirmed quantities.
Apart from that we know about the  goods issues and goods recites of respective plant.
Please let me know if you have any further clarifications

  • Check Price variance between IR and PO

    Hi,
Our purchasing process is GR-based IV, hnce PP tolerance checks IR amount against the GR amount.
Is there any tolerance key or any means we can do, not check the IR amound against GR amount but rather check IR amount against PO amount?
    Regards,
    ACE

    Hi,
Maintain Tolerance limit for key "BR" in OMR6 and check.
BR: Percentage OPUn variance (IR before GR)
The system calculates the percentage variance between the following ratios: quantity invoiced in order price quantity units : quantity invoiced in order units and quantity ordered in order price quantity units : quantity ordered in order units. The system compares the variance with the upper and lower percentage tolerance limits.

  • Calculate the variance between quarters and store it in a scenario

    Hi,
Can anyone suggets how I can write a rule to calculate the variances between quarters, Qtr1 vs Qtr2, Qtr2 vs Qtr3 etc, and store them in a scenario so that I dont calculatethem on a report ?
    Thanks,
    IK

Hi. Why don't you want to do this on the report - it's much easier and you can get favorable/unfavorable comparisons? But, if you want to do the rule, here's the approach.
Create the scenario with QTD as the frequency so you don't have monthly periods
Limit the rule to run just for the scenario and don't run any other rules for the scenario
Use a select case to determine which period (Q1, etc.) is being calc'd to populate variables that contain the source period and year (for going back a year to Q4).
Write the rule to compare data from current quarter in the real scenario to the prior quarter in the real scenario. Something like HS.Exp "A#ALL = A#ALL.S#Actual.P#Jun.W#QTD - A#ALL.S#Actual.P#Mar.W#QTD. But, you may want to adjust this to calculate a favorable/unfavorable variance on the revenue/expense accounts, so you'd need to loop through the accounts and look at the account type.
You'd want to rerun the rule at all value members for both base entities and parent entities. May need to clear all existing data (HS.Clear "A#ALL") in the scenario/year/period/entity/value first.
Do a consolidate all on the scenario to pull the data across and do the math
Have fun, but you really should still with doing the comparison in the reports.

  • Code for calculating variance between plan and actual in Co module

    Hi Abbapers,

I need your help as I have to complete this reports in this week . Its Bit urgent.
Can you please help me with the sample code or any of the similar report which you might have created as I am bit new in ABAP. Please reply asap.

    Hi Deepak,
For Finished Goods materials  if you assigned Price control  V (Moving Average) it is irrelevant  to run the Standard Cost Estimation.
My earlier client we don't have variance because of the Moving Average Price for Finished Goods.
Please check, It is really required Variance??  If it is required check whether variance key is automatically assigned to Process order or not. (Control Tab)

  • Variance in MB5B and MMBE / LS26

    Hi There ,
The stock on Posting date ( T Code - MB5B ) shows zero till today, where as the Stock overview MMBE / LS26 shows the correct figure as required .
Could anybody throw some light regarding what exactly is the logic behind the MB5B report . To my understanding MMBE / LS26 should sink with each other .
Thanks in advance for your kind help !!!!!!!!!
    With Warm Regards
    Manoj

    Hi All ,
Thanks to all of you for your kind and quick reply .
As per the request from Anand ..The MB5B shows stock received as well as stock isssued till 12-12-2006 is same , so the stock available is zero . but on the same date 12-12-2006 System allowed to do Transfer Orders with a quantity ...my presumption is that if the stock in MB5B on 12-12-2006 is zero then how System allowed to do a posting of TO with a quantity ..
MB5B I believe includes the unrestricted stock ..
Kindly assist ...thanks again in advance for your kind help .

  • Exchange rate variances between Primary and Secondary Ledger

We have a little problem on our hands.....we are implementing dual ledgers with dynamic posting, primary in Canadian Dollar and secondary in USD.
Exchange rate variances would occur if for example, we consider material transactions at different points in time. We would have no problems in the primary. However, CAD to USD exchange rates are updated monthly and very likely, rates would change month to month. Therefore, exchange rate variances would happen frequently in the secondary ledger.
We have been asked by senior management how these variances would be handled by EBS. Just wondering if you have ideas though we are looking into the accounting events in SLA.
    Thanks,
    Sanjib

If the requirement was to maintain balance in USD and Canadian dollar, You can use the Reporting currency option instead of Secondary ledger.

  • Variance between sum and general plus

    Let's consider following operation:
    CREATE TABLE zzz_null_test AS SELECT 1 Value FROM dual;
    INSERT INTO zzz_null_test SELECT 2 Value FROM dual;
    INSERT INTO zzz_null_test SELECT NULL Value FROM dual;
    COMMIT;
Can anyone tell me why we are getting different result by following statement:
    SELECT Sum(Value) FROM zzz_null_test; --Resule 3
SELECT 1+2+NULL value FROM dual; --Result will be 0
    Thanks,
    Suresh

The SUM aggregate function, along with many others, ignores NULL values and computes their result based on KNOWN VALUES.
    However,
SELECT 1+2+NULL FROM DUALProduces a NULL result (not zero as you have identified) because when you add something to an unknown (NULL) you get an unknown value (NULL).
    Quote from the documentation
All aggregate functions except COUNT(*) and GROUPING ignore nulls. You can use the NVL function in the argument to an aggregate function to substitute a value for a null. COUNT never returns null, but returns either a number or zero. For all the remaining aggregate functions, if the data set contains no rows, or contains only rows with nulls as arguments to the aggregate function, then the function returns null.

  • Variance between Material Ledger and General Ledger of

There is again a variance between Material Ledger and General Ledger of
7.026,64 (Tcode MB5L) as it was already in $$100036500(G/L).
The strange thing is, that there is only a difference in the GL Account
Balance report (FS10N) for S240077000(G/L ). In the Line Item report (FBL3N)
all documents are available. This issue impacts at least the Balance
carry forward negativ at the year end, because the system will forward
the the amount of the balance for S240077000, which is now 7.026,64 to
    less.
    Ther first investigations results:
    - all Material- and FI documents are available.
    - the variances in June refer to FI-documnets 4900015286 and 4900015293.
    - the documents, e.g. 4900015292 and 4900015287, are correct and was
posted at the same day by the same user and with the same transaction
    MI07.
    - there are no differences for the posted materials identificable from
    the other materials

    Material Ledger/Actual costing  MLAC
MLAC is used where the FG cost varies every month due to external procurement variation.
    Ex: Jan 2011
FG cost of manufcature internally = 100
FG cost of procurement externally = 120 ( Company procures due to capacity constraint)
FG Standard price at the end of month = 110...This is standard price of FG
Due to heavy fluctuations in the month of February 2011 in procurement...
    Ex: Feb 2011
FG cost of manufcature internally = 140
FG cost of procurement externally = 460 ( Company procures due to capacity constraint)
FG Standard price at the end of month = 300...This is standard price of FG.
The variance is very high in Feb 2011 and company want to absorb this variance in Feb 2011 iteslef hence they will use MLAC.
So if the variance is within reasonable limits company usually do not follow MLAC.
Where as if the variance is very high company usually follow MLAC.
In Pharma Industry usually the variance is very high on month to month basis hence they follow MLAC.
Where as in Industrial Mahcineery Manufacturing Company the variance is with in reasonable limits hence they do not follow MLAC. Ofcourse they can use MLAC as well.

  • Difference between MBBS and MB5L report.

All capital inventory till FY-2008-09 was transferred to revenue inventory by movemnt typr 411-Q in MB1B.All the codes those were transferrd are now appearing in MBBS but with zero value. However these codes are appearing in MB5L with value under GL 132006 (for capital items) and having value of 1.08 crores (0.94 crore for imported items and 0.14 crore for revenue items). The GL for all these codes neds to be changed to 132000 (revenue inventory GL) so that in MB5L also these items appear as revenue items. As of today GL of all the codes appearing under GL 132006 are to be changed to 132000 except code 496700086.
now, changes are reflected in report MBBS but not showing correct information in MB5L report..
Please guide what is the difference between MBBS and MB5L report.
    Regards
    SHreya

    Hi,
MBBS gives stock values of "project'" and "sales order" only.
MB5L gives total stock value .

  • Huge Variance between Target cost and Actual Cost

    Hi,
In Product Costing,I am getting Huge variance between Target cost and Actual Cost.It is showing the Target Cost as ZERO.Why i am getting this target cost as Zero? what could be the reason? Kindly help me in fix this issue.
    Thanks
    Supriya

    Dear,
First do the GR final DEV for Production order
You need to do the variance calculation in KKS2, then when you save the variance, the target cost is calculated.
Target cost appear after GR.  And you will get the Variance also right.
    Please try and come back.

  • T-Code for reporting stock quantity difference between IM and WM

    Hi All
I'm probably going to kick myself for asking this quastion but is there a report to show the stock quantity differences between IM and WM?
I have searched the forum first but cannot find info.
We have various differences in IM and WM shown in MD04 and LS26. This is usually the result of an unplanned plant to plant transfer not being recipted in at the destination plant.
If no standard T-code is available, which tables can I join to create my own query?
    Thanks in advance
    Darren

    compare MMBE with LS26
Make sure you dont enter a storage location and storage type in selection screen of LS26.
if you post a difference with LI20, then you have just posted a difference within WM, means you moved a quantity from a bin into the difference storate type 998.  The balance of both is still equal to your stock shown in MMBE. You have to clear the difference with IM by executing LI21 transaction. Only then the quantity will disappear from difference storage type and will be adjusted in MM and FI.
LX23 will only report real inconstencies and will adjust them.
If you do a MM movement like 303, then this creates a transfer request in WM, this TR needs to be converted into a TO. to move the stock from the bin to the interim storage type for goods issue.
In your case you created just a negative quant in the interim storage type for goods issue and still have a positive quant in the bin, the balance is equal to the stock shown in MMBE.
