Variants with selection values

Hi All,
Need to have a variant for a planning folder which is restricted to a particular value for one of the folder variables.
Say cost center is the header variable and i need to assign a variant to the user which opens with value of cost cneter as "120111"
But for some other user variant value changes.
Can this be done?
I tried using "maintain set variables" value in table TVARVC and using the parameter in the variant at start of planning folder. But it doesnt work.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi All,
Thanks for your inputs. But our layouts are going to be used by many users and also there will be some users who would require to see all cost centers.
So we need some variants for the folder which can hold a particular value of cost center.And this would be assigned to the user role.
Something of the sort BW variant in queries are used.

Variants -- with changing value!!!

Hi,
I want to run a program by using the SUBMIT keyword and passing a variant using USING SELECTION-SET <variant name>
And the variant changes its values for each execution of the SUBMIT statement.
According to the replies to a similar question posted in this forum, I found that we can have constant input values in a VARIANT and pass the changing values using the WITH keyword.
is there any other way to achieve this other than the above solution..........
any help wud greatly be appreciated.!!!!!

Hmm, you could set up multiple variants and change which variant you call the program with each time you SUBMIT. Example:
SUBMIT program_name USING SELECTION-SET variant1 AND RETURN.
SUBMIT program_name USING SELECTION-SET variant2 AND RETURN.
(and so on).
Another way to do it is to specify the fields separately, like this:
SUBMIT program_name WITH parameter1 = w_field1 AND parameter2 = w_field2
AND RETURN.
You can use this same statement multiple times, changing the values of w_field1 and w_field2 between calls (for instance, by putting the submit statement inside a LOOP, ENDLOOP). I hope this helps.

Edit Procedure with selected values

Hi,
I have an edit form where i drugged my view as an adf form.
I created in my Application Module a method called "save()" which what i do is just commit:

On my form i have some radio buttons. One of them is called LandType, with two options (OptionA and OptionB).
Please note that this is an edit operation so there is a preselected value when i edit a record.
I created some entity level validation which is conditional based on the selection of the above radio button. For example i have 2 input boxes, "InputA" and "InputB". If the user selects "OptionA" the "InputA" is required. If the user selectd "OptionB" then "InputB" is required.
For the create operation everything runs smoothly.
For the edit operation i face this problem.
I have a record with "OptionA" selected and "InputA" with some value ("InputB" is empty)
When i change to "OptionB", i render the "InputB" text box and i get my error message for an empty field("InputB"). If i press again save (calls my commit method in my AppModule) then the radio button from "OptionB" goes back to "OptionA" and if i click again save, it saves the changes!!!
How can i overcome this? I want the new value selected to remain.

This example illustrates how to validate and render
conditionally-required attributes. After running the included
CreateTables.sql script to create the
OPTIONAL_REQUIRED_TEST table, run the TestPage.jspx to
see that when a row has its RowType attribute set to the value
A then the ValueA inputText component renders, while if
its RowType attribute is instead set to the value B then
the ValueB inputText field renders. These fields set the
showRequired property to true to show the required field
indicator to the end-user even though the underlying ValueA and
ValueB attribute are not marked as mandatory. The conditional
mandatory validation is performed in the TestEntity entity
object using entity-level method validators. The radio group UI
component is marked to have its autoSubmit property true, and
the ValueChangeListener method in the backing bean for the page
sets a request-scope attribute as a flag to indicate that the row type
is changing. This flag is then referenced by the
ConditionalValidationPageController -- identical in function to
the one you might have seen in Example# 62 "Cascading Lists in JSF" --
which is configured to be used by the TestPage by setting the
ControllerClass property of its page definition. This
customized page controller avoids validating the row if it detects
that the row type is changing. The conditional rendering of the ValueA
or ValueB inputText components is handled declaratively using an

component in which the ValueA and ValueB inputText's reside is
declaratively "repainted" by having its partialTriggers

avoid the gotchas related to having PPR events delivered to
currently-unrendered components.

Defining Variant with Dynamic values

I want to schedule a report say Me2N so that every day it will give me purchase orders created today. I am defining variant for it. How to define Document date in variant so that every day it takes currrent system date.

In the ME2N transaction code when you are saving the variant, you can set up the status of field. Here if you will scroll right you can see last three columnu2026SELECTION VARIABLE, OPTION AND NAME OF VARIABLE(input only using F4)
Now in the third last column (SELECTION VARIABLE) press F4 and select the D(Dynamic date calculation) and after this click on last column from right side NAME OF VARIABLE and select the CURRENT DATE and save the varient.
Now this variant will take the document date every day as a todayu2019s date.

Fields with selection Value

I have used 4 fields in following manner.
1)Country
2) Region
3)City
4) Postal Code
When I am selecting country , then Region Fields only shows that value ,which belongs to selcted country. And same for City and Postal Code.

One nice way to do this is to use Hierarchies. You can define a hierarchy by country in the data manager, and then using the Java API you can build an iView that performs the functionality that you are referring to, such that when you select the country, then only options available for regions are the ones that pertain to that particular hierarchy node.

Call program using submit with variant that changing value

However, the problem is that i need to get some value from variant 'XXX' and keep changing it.
I have try function module "RS_VARIANT_VALUES_TECH_DATA" to get the variant details.
But, it just doesn't get me back all the details of the variants.
Are there any way i could read the variants in detail? i even try to read LRAW data from table vari. but there are no function module to convert the LRAW to either char or STRING.

You can use the FM "RS_CHANGE_CREATED_VARIANT" to change the variant values for already created variant and the FM "RS_VARIANT_CONTENTS" to get the variant values. Instead of changing the variant values and then passing to the Submit, you can directly pass the values to the Submit through..WITH SELECTION-TABLE seltab or ... WITH p IN sel variant of the Submit.

When we execute transcation selection-screen should come with some values

for that do like:
A transaction with a variant can have its own transaction code, which you can then use to execute the transaction with the appropriate variant.
To create a variant transaction, proceed as follows:
Choose Goto ® Create vari. trans. from the initial transaction variant maintenance screen.
Enter a transaction name and corresponding short text. Transaction type Variant transaction is already set. The following screen already contains default values for the name of the calling transaction, the variant name, and the client-specific or cross-client variant checkbox.
Save your entries.
Example:
Variant ABC has been defined for transaction Z000. We now want to create the variant transaction ZVAR.
Name of the new transaction: ZVAR
Name of the calling transaction: Z000
Name of the variant: ABC
Transaction ZVAR starts transaction Z000 with variant ABC.
If the variant specified for a variant transaction does not exist (in the current client), then the calling transaction will be started without variant.

SSRS Report with mutli select values in parameters

Hi All,
I am creating a SSRS report and displaying the result in tablix. I want to make the report to filter by multi select values from the parameters.
I have 3 parameters. For all the three parameters, I have set "Default Values" and "Available Values". Also, modified my result dataset to get the values from parameters using "WHERE ID = @Parameter1" (example) and so
on..
3 Parameters types: 1. Yes or No
2. Date 3. Values with NULL in the DB
Problems:
1. When I am passing the default values "Yes" "No" - it is throwing errors because default values is passed as Yes "AND" No instead of "OR" condition. The value stored in the DB wil have either Yes or No but not both.
2. When I am querying the date values, it is a DateTime field in the DB. But I have queried like SELECT CONVERT(DATE, EXE_DATE) AS DATE FROM table which is giving only date in SQL but in SSRS displaying date with time.
3. When I pull the list of values for third Parameter from SQL, it has some NULL values. When I try to use it in SSRS, it is not displaying the NULL value as select option in the list of values
Any suggestions for the above three problems for SSRS with multi select values as filter will be helpful.

Regarding the three things:
1.) I believe your first parameter is mutliselect , please convert it to single select.
Steps:
a.) Select the parameter, right click and go to parameter properties
b.) Under General Tab in DataType section remove the checkbox for Allow Multiple Value.
2.) Instead of returning as the date please return string. For example :
SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR, GETDATE(),101)

3.) As such there is no concept of null in SSRS. (Its a relational concept) . We do have nothing , which means empty. In Order to use null please select the Allow null option in the DataType section of the Parameter, This will add an checkbox for null in
the report preview. Its developer job to handle the null values in there query.

Hi, I successfully make the vi to insert itmes from listbox1 to listbox2.Whenever I select itmes 1 in listbox 1 it display same elected item in listbox2 , but it not appending the items in listbox2.Like If 1 is selected in listbox1 then 1 will display , next time after saving when I selct next item like 3 then in listbox 2, 1 is replaced by 3,it dont come in second row of listbox2.Hope I am able to explain.\

Multiple select parameter with each selected value covering multiple sub values

Hello, everyone,
In my SSRS report, I need to set a multiple select parameter called Group, with values: group1 group2, etc....
When group1 is selected, it needs to apply to data of certain sub groups: sub-group1, sub-group2;
When group2 is selected, it needs to apply to data of different sub groups: sub-group3, sub-group4 and sub-group5;
when both group1 and group2 are selected, then, it needs to apply to data of sub-group1 to sub-group5.
I know how to do it when only one group is selected: simply use a case statement in the query to select the right sub groups based on the group selected.
But I don't know a good way to do it when multiple groups are selected.
Any help, pointers are much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If I understand correctly, there are two parameters (Group and Sub_group) in the report. When we select group1 in Group parameter, it will auto select sub-group1, sub-group2 in the Sub_group parameter; when we select group2 in Group parameter, it will auto
select sub-group3, sub-group4 and sub_group5 in the Sub_group parameter; when we select both all, it will auto select all sub_group values. If I have misunderstood, please don't hesitate to let me know.
In this scenario, we can create a temporary table with Group and Sub_group columns, then select Sub_group column values based on the Group field. For more details, please see:
Create a dataset with the query below:
CREATE TABLE #temp([group] nvarchar(50),sub_group nvarchar(50))
INSERT INTO #temp VALUES ('group1','sub-group1'),('group1','sub-group2'),('group2','sub-group3'),('group2','sub-group4'),('group2','sub-group5')
SELECT * FROM #temp
where [group] in (@Group)
Set available values and default values of Sub_group parameter with get values from the sub_group field in the new dataset.
Note that the two parameters are all multiple parameters.

Submit program with selection screen parameters - getting blank values

Hi, I'm submitting a program with selection screen parameters. when I pass '000' (I_TPLSCN )value for Planning Scenario and when this goes to selection screen then I don't see value for Planning scenario as '000'(I_TPLSCN ) but the value is blank in selection screen. I'm using the below code for this.
SUBMIT RMCPAMRP WITH MATNR_GL EQ I_MATNR   SIGN 'I'
                  WITH WERKS_GL EQ I_WERKS   SIGN 'I'
                  WITH PLSCN    EQ I_TPLSCN SIGN 'I'
    via selection-screen        AND RETURN.
Could anyone please help me how to display value '000' rather than blanks.

Populating select list in a JSP with enumeration values

I'm working on a JSP in which I need to populate a select list with enumeration values.
Everytime I'm trying to insert these values (using enum.nextElement()) in a select box only the first enumerated value gets inserted correctly, the rest of the values shows up outside the select list. I would appreciated any help...thanks!!!

I'm not exactly sure how your generating your list to begin with, however the following code will work:

I have used WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS technology within WD Abap.
I also have added the fields which have to be taken into consideration.
lt_range_table =

i_id = 'PLANT'
it_result = lt_range_table
i_read_only = read_only ).
Can I assign two values to this field 'PLANT' whereby the user may take only these values.
I mean kind of pre initializíng of this select options field with default values.
Due to this handling it should be prevented that the user can give other values
except this values.
Additonally it should be fine whether it is possible to disable the second input field
of this select options field like NO INTERVALS .

ORA-20001:Error fetching column value:Query must begin with SELECT or WITH

Hi all,
I have implemented an application with a master-detail form using Apex 3.1.2 and I imported that to Apex 3.2 on different server. Everything else seems to be fine except when I add detail record (clicking on Add Rows), I am getting following error.

ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-20001: Query must begin with SELECT or WITH

Both the databases have same version 10gR2. I didn't make any change after importing it as well. Can someone let me know what could be the issue? Thanks in advance.
