VB6 runtime files

Hello,
I'm buliding report using Crystal Reports XI Developer Full(Ver. 11.5.8.826), What to i need to distribute this report with my vb6 app with CrystalActiveXReportViewer.
I would like to install the minimum to my clients.
Thanks,
Moshik

There is no reall "minimum" install. You have to use the merge modules and build a deployment project using InstallSHield / Wise, MS Installer, etc. For links to the RDC merge modules see [this|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsReportDesignerComponentRuntimeDistribution-Versionspre8.0.xto12.0] wiki.

  • How to Create runtime files with Autorware 7

Hi, Need to know how to create a runtime file file (.exe) in
Authorware 7. I tried to create one with the publish functionality
in Authorware. This only creates packages (aam,a7r or a web
package), not a standalone package (you need authorware installed
to run the application). That's not what I want. I need to create a
runtime file that everyone can use. How do I do that?
Maybe this will work; Go to File - Publish - Package.. Then
you can choose to publish for Windows 98, NT, XP. When I tried to
run the package it says: "This application has failed to start
because js32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may
fix the problem". Don't understand it?? Maybe because I'm using Win
    Vista 64bits?

  • Opening files with VB6 when files are in KM which is located on Producer

    Hello;
Can anyone help me with this issue?
I have a VB app that is looks for a file in KM on a Producer Portal then opens and saves it. The issue I am running into is a logon screen keeps popping up for the Producer server. Is there anyway around having the logon screen pop up?

    Hello,
I am not entirely sure if I understand you question right, if it is a Portal logon screen that you are getting you can submit the logon with the URL, extend it with:
    ?j_user=<username>&j_password=<Password>

  • Runtime file creation in webdynpro

    Hi,
I was trying to create a simple text file in WebDynpro and access it in a html file present in mimes.
I am unable to predict actually where the file is created in the server. How can i specify the relative path for the file. help me in this regard.

    Hallo Abhimanyu,
the resource path (URL) for a file which is contained under src/mimes/<component name> within the project can be retreived from the WDURLGenerator service:
    String resourcePath =
          WDURLGenerator.getResourcePath(
            wdComponentAPI.getDeployableObjectPart(),
            "<file name>");

  • VB6 Runtime Error 5003

I have an application that works fine in Windows 7, but some of the forms get a run time error 5003 on widows 8 64 bit machines.

You may be right but a lot of customers are happily running the application.  If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
I found a couple of "incompatible" icons.  When I changed them out, it fixed the problem.
The clue was in this link (third answer).  It was a stack overflow link Microsoft wouldn't let me include.

  • [Solved] Wine Problem: Cant Locate Procedure In DLL

I'm trying to run a windows exe via wine and it when I double click the program a message box pops up that says "The Procedure * could not be located in the DLL MSVBVM60.dll" IIRC this DLL is one of the ms visual basic runtimes and I've tried a few things to remedy this problem but none of them seem to work. I don't really use wine that much so I'm no expert with it, I tried adding the DLL to the preferred list but that didn't fix anything. The DLL's are in the same folder as the application and the app itself is portable so it doesn't need to be installed. I installed the VB6 runtime files with winetricks but I still have the same error. Any help would be appriciated.

It looks to me like those last lines all happen after the process crashes, so I need more output. You can redirect stderr with
    WINEDEBUG=+all wine 'Xbox Backup Creator.exe' 2> winelog.txt
    and it should work.

  • Crystal Reports XI Runtime .msm Files

We have a mixed environment (VB6, .NET 2003, .NET 2005) on each of our workstations.  We require a Crystal Reports 11 runtime that will cover all of these platforms.  There are six.msm files available to build the runtime.  One is for .NET 2003, another for .NET 2005, and the remaining four are for the Report Designer Component (RDC), which will cover VB6's ActiveX:
    CrystalReports11_5_NET.msm  (for .NET 2003)
    CrystalReports11_5_NET_2005.msm
    CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Designtime.msm
    CrystalReports11_5_RDC_License.msm
    CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Reportengine.msm
    CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Runtime.msm
When we try to build a Setup project with all of these msm's included, we get the "Unable to merge data from the merge module because it conflicts with existing data in the package".  Apparently the modules are duplicated in the msm's.  With further examination, it appears that the RDC msm's include most of the runtime files in the other msm's, but not all.
So we're trying to determine how to be able to include all the required modules in the runtime.
Maybe we need to build a separate runtime package for each of the three platforms and then run all of them to get everything that we need?

Building  separate runtime packages will be the way to go. BTW, you do not need to include the CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Designtime.msm, unless your RDC app uses the report creation APIs and craxDDrt.dll.

Using Crystal Developer Edition 11.0 SP4 (I think, about screen shows 11.0.0.2495)Using VB6, have crviewer.dll and craxdrt.dll referenced in my project. Using the CrystalActiveXReportViewer control on one of my forms. And am defineing objects of types:CRAXDRT.ApplicationCRAXDRT.ReportCRAXDRT.SectionsCRAXDRT.SectionCRAXDRT.ReportI can create a redistributable msi with the merge modules provided on the website (Licence/Runtime/Engine) but this totals 50mb!!!!!! When I was working with Crystal 6.5 (doing the same thing though the 6.5 OCX) that was a fraction of the size.I tried manually registering:atl.dllcraxdrt.dllcrviewer.dllcslubu-2-0-0.dllusp.dllBut got as far as getting an "Invalid TLV Record" error when trying to run my app.Whats the slimline solution, my apps setup program is currently 40mb, I don't want to double it for Crystal which is a very minor part of the app!!!!!!

    CA Forum: Deployment
    Hello,
Crystal no longer support building deployment packages manually with the package and deployment wizard. The package and deployment wizard does not support using merge modules.  In order to deploy the RDC runtime files you will need to use the RDC merge modules that you can download from the Crystal website.  We have a kbase article discussing our runtime deployment support.  You can find it at this link:
<http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/KanisaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=c2017252&sliceId=&dialogID=360384&stateId=1%200%20356275>  This link may break if it word wraps.
These documents were written for CR XI (v11.0), but apply to CR XI R2 (v11.5) as well.
In order to use the merge modules you will have to use a packaging software that supports merge modules - like the Visual Studios Installer, InstallShield, or Wise Installer.  Licensed owners of VB6 are entitled to download the Visual Studios Installer from Microsoft for free.
There are documents that will help you walk through how to build a simple setup package using the VS Installer.  You can find it at this link on their website:
    http://support.businessobjects.com/communityCS/TechnicalPapers/rdcXI_deployment.pdf.asp
You can download the merge modules from these links:
    For CR XI - http://support.businessobjects.com/downloads/runtime.asp#05
    For CR XI R2 - http://support.businessobjects.com/downloads/runtime.asp#06.
if you use the free VS Installer please note that this tool does not support adding the CR XI/XI R2 keycode to the license.msm.  In order to add the keycode to the license.msm file you will need to download the ORCA tool in order "open" the merge module and enter the keycode.  This is discussed in the RDC XI Deployment PDF.
The merge modules are a "one size fits all" solution, but they work.
    I hope this helps.

  • Crystal Report 11, List of Runtime DLLs, Runtime.hlp File

I am using Crystal Report 11 with my Delphi 7 application.
I need the list of runtime dlls which I will need to distribute with my application.
The Help file which comes with the Delphi 7 VCL Component (UCRPE32.hlp) says :
    QUOTE
    check RUNTIME.HLP in the Program Files\Seagate Software\Crystal Reports\Developer Files\Help folder
and make sure you have all the files.
    UNQUOTE
I could not find the RUNTIME.HLP file in any folder/subfolders on the machine  where Crystal Report 11 has been installed.
Can somebody tell me where I can find RUNTIME.HLP file or the list of runtime DLLs which is required to be distributed
along with my application(which is written in Delphi 7).
        Thanks in advance

    Hello Ramesh,
Business Objects does not support manual deployment of their runtime files.  This started with the release of CR XI (v11.0).  Please see [Business Objects Note 1218571|https://bcp.wdf.sap.corp/sap/sapnotes/display/0001218571] - How to distribute the Report Designer Component (RDC) in Crystal Reports XI for more information.
You may also want to review the RDC deployment article - [Creating an RDC Distribution Package|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/901c0761-cf1d-2b10-dea4-8e83937a9337] - that can be found on the SAP web site as well.
The RDC merge modules do not include the CRPE32.dll.  Since you're using the VCL you'll probably have to add that file manually to your deployment package.
The merge module links in these articles have probably changed.  Go to the [Business Objects Support Software Download|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm] page to find the RDC merge modules.
Change the Selection Criteria to this:
    Software Product: Crystal Reports
Product Version: XI, XI Release 1, or XI Release 2 (depending on your version of Crystal Reports)
    Software Type: Utility
You should also be aware of the fact that the VCL is not being updated any longer.  I think the XI (v11.0) version is the last one that will be available.  Additionally, the Report Designer Component (RDC) has been retired with the release of CR 2008.  Going forward you'll have to migrate to .NET SDK or the Crystal Report Java SDK.
    I hope this helps,
    Sincerely,
    Dan Kelleher

  • Crystal Reports XI Runtime Performance

I have Crystal Reports XI Developer Edition Installed.  The reports I develop are deployed with a VB6 application using the Crystal Reports XI Merge Modules.  On some of the reports we are seeing severe performance degradation if they are run from a machine with only the runtime installed.  For example, if I run on of the reports (through the VB6 app) on my machine (with CR XI Developer Edition) installed I get the report displyed in 2 - 3 seconds.  Running the same report on a different machine with only the CR XI runtime installed, and against the same database and database server, i.e. identical data set, the report will take 25 - 30 seconds.  Any ideas where to start looking to trace the cause of this performance degradation?
    Thanks in advance
    Ian

    Hi Ian,
Firstly you should download Cr XI R2 and all of it's service packs to bring you up to the latest version and it's a free download.
Secondly since you are using VB6 I assume you are using RDC report engine?
25 - 30 second delay doesn't sound obvious. Most times there is a delay of a minute or so due to the database the reports were designed against is no longer available, the delay is the connection time-out.
I would open those reports and in the Report Options menu check off Verify on first refresh, and Verify stored procedures. Also open up regedit and go to this location:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions and change VerifyWhenDBDriverUpgraded = to No.
Also change DoAutoSmartLinking = No on both the runtime and your dev PC. It can delay the opening while CR tries to link all tables and fields in the report.
I would then compare runtime files using various tools, Modules is available for download on our site, and compare all the runtime, not jsut CR. It may be a different version of your DB client or dependencies.
Next option is to add logging in your application that logs time to open the report, set DB logon info etc. to see which step is actually causing the delay.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Runtime for VS2008 & Crystal 2008

I'm upgrading my applications from VB6 and CR8.5 to VS2008 and CR2008.  I have made a test application in VS2008VB and finally got the thing to working on my computer.  I then tried on another computer that didn't have CR2008 installed and it wouldn't work.  I need to have this capability with VS2008 and CR2008 in order to finish the conversion.  Several CR reports have already been converted and can no longer be displayed with the VB6 program.  What do I need to do?
I have worked on this issue for a week and need to get it resolved quickly.

Not sure if this will bring you the answer(s) you are looking for.
The MSDN for Visual Studio 2008 has a Crystal Reports Deployment.
The following is the link to the information within MSDN Document Browser: ms-help://MS.MSDNQTR.v90.en/crystlmn/html/topic405.htm
    Section: Crystal Reports Runtime Components
In Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio, you can use .msi files for both ClickOnce deployment and Windows Installer deployment. The .msi file contains the components that enable clients to view applications that use Crystal Reports. If you use the .msi file on the target machine, the Windows Installer provides the Crystal Reports runtime files that are required by a deployment project. The .msi files are included with the Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio installation.
The following are the .msi files used in Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008.
    Runtime
Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 (x86)
    Location of MSI  C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages\CrystalReports10_5\CRRedist2008_x86.msi
    Runtime
Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 (x64)
    Location of MSI : C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages\CrystalReports10_5\CRRedist2008_x64.msi
    Runtime
Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 (IA64)
    Location of MSI : C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Crystal Reports\CRRedist\IA64\CRRedist2008_ia64.msi
    Section: Common Language Runtime
To deploy Visual Studio .NET applications, the .NET Framework must be installed on the target computer, before you install the deployment project. When you create a deployment project, the .NET Framework is not included by default
    Note
Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 supports the .Net 3.0 and 3.5 framework.
You can find the .NET Framework on the Visual Studio .NET Windows Components Update CD or from the Microsoft Web site. From the CD, the .NET Framework installer (an .exe file), can be redistributed with the deployment project.
    Note
Ensure that your version of .NET Framework matches the runtime.
For ClickOnce deployment, you can include the correct version of the .NET Framework as a prerequisite setup to the published Web Site.

I'm developing an windows app. that should be accesed from a Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition.
When I run my app. om the server and want to see a report created with Crystal Report, I'm told that Crystal Report runtime is not installed correct.

What am I doing wrong og missing.
Which .dll files are required on the Server and in my app directory??
When I run the app on my local machine the report works perfect.
