There is a tool from EMC called EMC Documentum Content Services for SAP, a tiered, modular set of archiving and enterprise document management (EDM) services which integrates directly with SAP® R/3® and NetWeaverTM applications.
You might not need the xi while using this tool all depends on the technology, i guess this tool has nothing to do with XML but this is only from a brief reading.
check the link below.
EMC documentum interface with SAP sys.
Maybe you need just a file adapter or a solution from ItemField (coming with SP15 of XI).
There is not enough details in your posing to decide...

    I'm beginning to learn the Schedule with NI-FBUS Configurator and Dialog utility.
    I made a simple schedule with NI-FBUS Configurator , I attached the pictures to show the configurations.  Just one AI block called "AI".
    I can download this schedule with configurator.
    Schedule:
    Function Block Application
    Loop Time = 1 sec, Stale Limit = 1
    AI (AI)
    start time=0 (us) -> stop time=87000 (us)
    I made an .ini file :
    [Schedule Summary]
    versionNumber =1
    builderIdentifier = 300
    numberOfSubschedules=1
    T0=1
    ; macrocycle of 1000 msecs
    macroCycle=32000
    [SubSchedule 1]
    period=32000
    numSequence=1
    [Sequence 1-1]
    startingTime=0
    maxDuration=13
    numElement=1
    priority1=1
    address1=AI.OUT
    I use dialog utility to download , but I get the following error:
    Error: downloadLasSched Error: Missing a publisher VCR for a published parameter.
    I do not knows what´s wrong with my ini file.

    Hi,
    Single block schedule is not a valid publisher-subscriber schedule. In your schedule, AI.OUT acts as the publisher and publishes the data to the network. But there is no subscriber that receives this data. In other word, there is no valid publisher-subscriber VCR.
    You need to try schedule that contains at least two blocks and connects each other. One or more VCR will be established.

  • Federated Search for Documentum

    Hi. Has anybody implemented a federated search for Documentum? I think Documentum uses Verity internally for full text indexing, but Verity is tightly integrated with Documentum's own metadata search - does Documentum expose the search functionality as a web service - is there any customization required on this web service (meaning, is it already a SOAP web service that Plumtree understands readily or do we have to write any custom code). Any inputs on implementing federated search for remote search repositories such as Verity, FAST, Autonomy would be helpful?

    Hi Bbelko, as Raji mentioned,
    Lync Desktop Client cannot search any external source outside your organization.
    Nevertheless, Lync Full Client can search against your local Outlook contact lists (only your personal contact and linked contact lists like LinkedIn or Facebook). Additionally, Lync is generating its own Address Book (ABS) which it can search against. You
    can modify in Lync how the service should generate the address book, based on the GAL. GAL here does NOT mean the Exchange GAL, instead it is the Active Directory. It only queries information based on Exchange attributes.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg429711.aspx
    How this helps understanding how the service is working via the User Replicator.
    Federated contacts can be therefor also only maintained in AD.

  • Forms Server for Documentum

    Hello,
    I'm trying to setup a configuration where Adobe Forms are Integrated with the Documentum ECM platform.
    Designing, storing and publishing forms works well with Designer
    When trying to fill the form, it goes wrong. The URL that is called brings me to 'a page cannot be found'.
    Can someone help me where I can start to search for the reason.
    This is what I find in the logfiles:

    I can provide further details if necessary.

  • Need Packages for Documentum

    Hi all,
    What are the jar files necessary for running applications using documentum. I have sample code written in JSP and when i run in my web browser i get the following error ..........
    package com.documentum.fc.client does not exist
    probably occurred due to an error in /dfcjsp/login/login.jsp line 4:
    <%@ page import="com.documentum.fc.client.*" %>
    HOW TO GET THESE PACKAGES ? ARE THEY AVAILABLE FREE?
    could anyone please give me the links to download the packages or tell me where they exist in content server.......as i have content server installed.
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Hi all,
    What are the jar files necessary for running
    r running applications using documentum. I have
    sample code written in JSP and when i run in my web
    browser i get the following error ..........Get them from the same place you got the sample code.
    There is a good chance you already have them, if you downloaded or installed the samples from a bundle.
    package com.documentum.fc.client does not exist
    probably occurred due to an error in
    /dfcjsp/login/login.jsp line 4:
    <%@ page import="com.documentum.fc.client.*" %>The initial part of a properly named java package should reflect the web domain of the package's developer. So in this case try
    documentum.com
    HOW TO GET THESE PACKAGES ? ARE THEY
    ES ? ARE THEY AVAILABLE FREE?No Idea if they are free, in either sense of the word, you will need to read the licence.

    I've check my adobe-component-ext.properties file and environment variables repeatedly.
    If I go and bootstrap the DB I see this in the logs:

    LiveCycle service container information or login information may be invalid or the server is not running or accessible.
    Again, if I uninstall DFC everything works fine except for the connector.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Brian,
    Can you please provide the configuration detils of your set-up like: Operating system, DB, Appserver all with version info. Then are you using 32-bit OS and JVM?
    And also provide complete Appserver logs and LCM (configuration Manager logs). DFC has nothing to do with Appserver as such, but as you observed that everything works fine after uninstalling it, so we have to look in to this issue. Can you also provide complete version number of DFC 5.3 installer you used?
    Take Care,
    -Abhijeet.

  • Best Mini DV VCR for Premiere Pro

    I need advice on this one - I am ready to buy a Panasonic AG-DV1000 and am wondering if anyone uses this deck. Advice on a deck? Thanks!

    A quick note on tape quality and dropouts...Coming from me, a former Field Service Engineer for Ampex Recording Media/Quantegy (both now deceased)...
    Mini-DV tape is metal particle tape...Not iron oxide like 3/4" and 1" tape. Totally different formulations...They are very high coercivity tapes, so erasure of the previously recorded data is necessary to minimize BER. High ber can manifest itself as dropouts, but has other nasty side effects as well...Most recorders and camcorders to a perfectly aceptable job of erasure, but if your seeing a lot of funny BER related problems...dropouts, blockiness, etc, the erasure circuit and record drives might be suspect...
    The most prevelant causes of dropout are caused by the head getting seperated from the surface of the tape...Either via debris on the surface of the tape (coming from bad slitting of the edges), or dirt, which can move around from place to place on the tape during subsequent playbacks (flying dropouts), or from divots in the surface of the tape (repeatative dropouts) that are caused by either bad basefilm, poor coating, or debris that was calandared into the surface of the tape during manufacture, then wiped off when the tape was cleaned, or knocked off by the flying heads, leaving a permanent impression on the surface of the tape.
    All of these problems can be minimized by using a high quality tape...The best tapes out there right now are made by Fuji. Excellent slitting and coating, just enough abrasivity to help keep the heads clean and avoid the filming problem, which I'll describe next.
    Filming is a build-up on the heads of the transport caused by the frictional heat that builds up as the head rotates, causing the very tough, durable material that is used to coat the metal particles (this material prevents the oxygen depleted metal particles from rapid oxidation - read catch fire - when exposed to air) to transfer and adhere to the pole tips on the video heads.
    As this filming material builds up on the heads, it causes a head to tape seperation that, over time; makes dropout activity more likely to happen with tapes that have less than ideal residual flux (retentivity).
    For those of you who remember BetaCam SP, this effect was very apparent when you got a shot of a very high brightness scene...Like the sun glinting off of a chrome bumber hitch...It would manifest itself in the video as a tearing on the trailing edges...In the digital world, it makes for higher BER which the error correction and concelment circuitry may ultimately fail on.
    The only way to get this material off the heads, is to grind it off using a highly abrasive tape. In the DV world and Beta SP world, you can buy cleaning tapes that do this...It's really just tape that hasn't been calandered as smooth as normal tapes would be...In the mini-DV world, you're pretty much limited to the tapes that you buy and use. Sony tape is pretty high on the abrasivity scale, and running it several times can help grind the gunk off.
    If you do get a cleaning tape, only use it once, as it loses effectiveness with each pass, and only run it for 10 to 20 seconds at a time...Any more than that, and you can grind the heads away...BE CAREFUL with those tapes, or you'll be buying new heads...
    Once you find a tape that works with your system, stick with that brand of tape...Changing brands all the time, changes the formulations and abrasivity of the tape, and your heads never really get a chance to contour to the formulation you are using. Stick with one brand, and you'll see performance improvements that are measurable with standard video test measurement equipment. Better linearity, color saturation and rendition, etc.
    Cheers!

  • Reward Point for providing document for TREX able to search from Documentum

    Hi all,
    I am in need of documents for documentum integration with EP 6.0
    I want to make TREX to be able to search from Documentum.
    Sender will get the reward points.
    Thanks in advance.

    Karan,
    Documentum contains a brief overview of TREX configuration in teh Content services for SAP.
    Documentum provides a tool call Content SErvices fo SAP Portal - Repository Manager.  This software is used to creaet a seamless integration KM / TREX with Documentum.   In my opinion the product is pretty good.
    You will find the documentation you're lookign for on the EMC/Documentum website powerlink.emc.com:

  • Recording on my VCR

    I can view a taped program from my VCR to my TV, but can not record a program coming in from the FIOS box. I've hooked up the FIOS box to the VCR and then the VCR to the TV, but I can't record a program. How do I record a program with my VCR? Hope someone has the answer.

    There are 2 or 3 ways to record from the STB. Some STB's have an RF output that can be connected to the VCR, and you can then record on Channel 3 or 4.  Not all STB's have RF output however.
    All STB's have composite Video, and S-Video video available. You can connect either to an Aux input on your VCR. The Audio then has to be provided by inserting a y-cable into the Left and Right Audio Channels if you aren't using HDMI to your TV. This then allows you to send audio to both the TV and VCR at the same time. The Left and Right audio then need to be connected to the same Aux input you are using on the VCR for video input..
    Note that on some VCR's, you must specifically activate the S-VHS input, the default Aux input is composite video.
    S-Video will provide the highest quality picture, and RF the lowest.

  • DAW - advice for setting up my new DAW?

    Hi,
    I intend to get my own DAW/general purpose computer in the next few months and was hoping to run my plan by y'all for advice. I intend to use it half for music recording, and also as a normal computer.
    I plan to have a high end graphics card (dual dvi) for games etc, will run a 23" widescreen lcd (pref apple on pc) or bigger maybe upgrading to dual monitors later. I am running a HD tv card which needs some good headroom when recording. I only play far cry and need for speed when it comes to games etc so won't have a million games installed.
    I have a about 50 gig of music mp3's and wmas and general stuff, so need lots of storage space. I have about 10gig of AA session files and that will grow so im thinking 30-40 gig min.
    For recording/mixing, i have usually 10 trax minimum with lots of real time, sometimes locked fx, i do a lot of processing/wave editing and can have up to 10minute tracks up to 24 etc so i need some juice to power it all. running xp pro sp2.
    Can someone explain raid vs ide, im told i can raid 2 similiar drives, but how much better is it, and are there draw backs? can i raid 2 x 15000rpm drives together(2 x 20 or 2 x 40 gig) as my dedicated AA session files space or is that just overkill, i plan to have maybe 2 x 250 gig 7200 or 10 000 drives raided as a dedicated digital vcr for HD tv recording, a small system drive 20-40gig just for installed stuff, another 80-250 gig for normal storage. Any ideas for best way to configure this stuff? minimum im thinking is sep small sys drive, sep AA drive/raided or not, sep bigass drive for TV recording, and sep general storage drive so thats minimum 4 or more.
    Wireless keyboard (ultra flat touch keys like on bank atm's sort super silent DO THESE EXIST YET IF SO PLEASE TELL ME WHERE AND WHAT CALLED?)
    and wireless optical mouse with extra side buttons and fully functional
    Can y'all fill me in on scsi, im told the 14k rpm drives need a scsi
    controller or osmething? tell me about this stuff please
    Also, 64bit cpus? what the hell does that mean
    I'm thinking the fastest intel cpu wht is it 3 gig these days with cache, or does anyone know how much dual cpu will cost (and what needs to go with it) motherboard with 800fsb and 8x agp that can take like 1-2 gig of ram (what sort is fastest?), 8 x agp graphics card that is very high end for 1080i output for high definition tv, and games.
    Obviously dvd+rw/cd+rw drive.
    Need advise on DAW case, ultra sound and heat proof as i might sleep in the same room and im sick of noisy computers, and i might need a big load of space with all the hdd's depending on what i get, will have a usb2. pci card no doubt and tv card etc
    Wondering bout the new audigy 2 zn platinum pro thing Is this any good compared to the normal audigy 2? it says with firewire i can have 7 stereo inputs, is that really true at once, do i need extra external hardware like a mixer to do that, and does AA support that at all?
    I have a decent pair of phones i will use for a while until i get studio monitors so don't worry about them for now, thats later.
    I hope to spend only about 3-6 grand Australian pref no more, so any suggestions of other things to add or not to bother with etc, revisions?

    Don't clutter a daw with too much GP stuff, office software
    installations and antivirus software should generally not be installed
    on a daw, and a gp computer can generally not be without either.
    Generally, mind you, generally is generally a lot less general with the
    more capable hardware, but a lean daw is a happy daw. Fortunately a
    p2-300 with 192 megs of ram and a modern harddisk is still a lot of GP
    officing computer, and such machines are not costly on the second hand
    market.
    > I intend to use it half for music recording, and also as
    > a normal computer.
    There may be valid reasons for doing that, if so then you could be well
    off having multiple OS installations on it, one for GP use and one for
    Audio use and making it a multibooter. It however my experience that a
    multibooter always ends up being booted in the wrong OS ..... O;-)
    > I plan to have a high end graphics card (dual dvi) for games etc,
    A dual head card is strongly recommended. Matrox has nice cards that do
    not need to have a fan on them and that do not require the utmost
    hardware speed. You do not WANT to have the ultra fastest graphics card
    on a daw because you need to avoid that the graphics cards bus bandwidth
    requirements obstruct other, more vital chores. Less fast cards that do
    not require a fan allows for a more quiet system.
    > will run a 23" widescreen lcd (pref apple on pc) or bigger
    > maybe upgrading to dual monitors later.
    It may be that you can get dual smaller lcd's for the same budget as one
    23", and it may be of more use, everybody is on some kind of a budget,
    and you also need to have money over for audio hardware. Good mics and
    good mic pre's do more for the quality of your sound than a larger
    screen.
    > I am running a HD tv card which needs some good headroom when
    > recording.
    Hmmm ...... select the recording options wisely, you come across as
    chasing specs rather than as being aware of just what specs you actually
    need.
    > I only play far cry and need for speed when it comes to games etc
    > so won't have a million games installed.
    One never knows what the future holds, but it should be possible to
    avoid having too many games installed at any one time.
    > I have a about 50 gig of music mp3's and wmas and general stuff,
    > so need lots of storage space. I have about 10gig of AA session
    > files and that will grow so im thinking 30-40 gig min.
    It is too costly pr. gigabyte to buy anything smaller than 120 GB, and
    the 120 GB drives of today are all comfortably fast. You should at least
    have two physical drives for Audition so as to be able to avoid
    simultaneous reads and writes on the same drive, three physical drives
    are imo preferable.
    > For recording/mixing, i have usually 10 trax minimum with lots

    > some juice to power it all. running xp pro sp2.
    I think that your setup is one that would benefit of having three
    physical drives to prevent having temp files on the drive that contains
    the "static" audio files.
    > can someone explain raid vs ide, im told i can raid
    > 2 similiar drives, but how much better is it,
    Depends, it is not faster than a single drive where it is fastest, but
    raid 0 (simple stripe set) is less likely to show performance reduction
    due to file fragmentation. A stripe set still counts as "one physical
    drive", and if you want to have only two drives in it you are better off
    not having them striped.
    > and are there draw backs?
    You can not remove just one harddisk and move it to another machine. If
    one harddisk fails, then all is lost, at least if you run a simple
    stripe set. The probability math is tolerable with only two disks in a
    stripe set, but it takes less of an error to loose all. All things
    considered you need to have a problem to solve by striping prior to
    doing it, and distributing multitrack files over several physcial drives
    is also a way to increase playback performance if there is a problem to
    solve.
    > can i raid 2 x 15000 rpm drives together(2 x 20 or 2 x 40 gig)
    > as my dedicated AA session files space or is that just overkill,
    That would be a silly set up, three 5400 or 7200 rpm 120 GB drives is a
    possibly less costly way to get same or better performance, assuming
    wise deployment. You will always end up having some copying of files
    from one physical drive to another, and consequently it is very wise to
    have identical drives so that the faster need not wait for the slower.
    > I plan to have maybe 2 x 250 gig 7200 or 10 000 drives raided
    > as a dedicated digital vcr for HD tv recording,
    I wouldn't raid them, but tv recording is a very fast way of making
    large drives appear small and I don't really know what the bandwidth
    requirement is for recordign hdtv.
    > a small system drive 20-40gig just for installed stuff,
    No, you will be wasting a valuable drive bay on a drive that will be a
    bottleneck, three drives is a good idea, but preferably identical or at
    least similar. Put that old drive in a USB 2.0 box and use it for
    project backup instead.
    > another 80-250 gig for normal storage.
    Yes, you may need storage space when you want to do TV recording, so 750
    GB unformatted is not unreasonable.
    > Any ideas for best way to configure this stuff? minimum I'm
    > thinking is sep small sys drive, sep AA drive/raided or not,

    Three 200 GB drives will probably be the optimally cost efficient setup.
    > wireless keyboard (ultra flat touch keys like on bank atm's
    > sort super silent DO THESE EXIST YET IF SO PLEASE TELL ME
    > WHERE AND WHAT CALLED?)
    A wireless keyboard is called too slow and too sloppy ...
    > and wireless optical mouse with extra side buttons
    But a wireless mouse can be an ergonomic advantage, agreed.
    > can y'all fill me in on scsi,
    Too costly.
    > im told the 14k rpm drives need a scsi
    > controller or osmething?
    Yes, and thus it gets to be about a very different and very costly mobo.
    You do not want a disk controller on the PCI bus on a DAW.
    > also, 64bit cpus? what the hell does that mean
    Currently nothing of relevance considering the current software. What it
    means is that the memory allocation space can be 64 terabytes rather
    than 4 GB, and that is rapidly getting to be of importance for database
    servers and terminal servers.
    > im thinking the fastest intel cpu wht is it 3 gig these
    > days with cache, or does anyone know how much dual cpu
    > will cost (and what needs to go with it)
    It is unknown to me whether Audition actually will benefit from multiple
    CPU's, generally the required CPU versions (XEON) and mobo's are too
    costly to make sense.

    Asus P5P800 is modestly priced. I think your specs are extreme and that
    your quests are of the "it would be nice to be able to" type. Life is
    not about using as much money on chasing specs as possible, but rather
    about getting good results. To do that, you also need to have resources
    to get some reasonable audio equipment. Leave all the video concerns out
    of it, I have understood them to be about leasure, and live with
    recording the number of pixels that is possible with a good DAW.
    I suggest this also because it may be problematic to try to make a
    multitrack audio recording simultanously on the machine that records the
    video in case "both combined" is the productivity quest. Just one reason
    for not thinking that hdtv is very important on the machine is that it
    is not very likely that you actually record hdtv with a camera.
    > wondering bout the new audigy 2 zn platinum pro thing
    In the audio context that is relevant here something Midiman is "more
    like it" - example product, not the only possible choice. See also
    http://www.pcavtech.com, Arny Krügers very interesting web site and a
    good place to start learning more about sound cards. A budget card that
    it appears will meet your demands is the Midiman 1010LT or similar model
    from other manufacturer.

  • SharePoint Online integration with OnPremises Documentum

    Hi,
    I need some guidance here.
    We have dedicated SharePoint 2010 implementation in MSO environment. Now I would like to use SharePoint as front end to create an application and the plan is to store all documents (uploaded via this application) in on-Premises Documentum repositories.
    The reason why these documents cant be stored in SharePoint online is because these are the confidential and secret documents. So is there any solution to handle such kind of scenario? Or do we need to go for some third party solution?
    I heard of this EDRSMS connectors provided by EMC but does MSO allow to install these connectors on SharePoint servers?
    Thanks,
    -Prashant

    The only way I see is create a SharePoint App hosted on an application server (logically, somewhere in your environment) that accesses the Documentum repository and provides a UI for it. SharePoint Online also has support for BCS, but I'm pretty sure it
    won't allow you to install custom .NET connectors for Documentum.

  • How and when the realDelete method gets called for a custom adapter?

    Hi,
    I am a newbie in sun identity manager and is in the process of writing a custom adapter for documentum resource.
    While I am successful in creating the resource,then provisioning the resource to an user(i.e creating an account of the user on documentum ) updating the user through idm I am not being able to deprovision the resource.
    Actually in the trace I am not seeing the realDelete method getting called anywhere,but I am sure if it gets called it would do its designated job bcos as a standalone code it's working.
    Does this mean I am not properly doing deprovisioning in sun-idm?
    What method I am employing is in the assignment list of the user,i am putting the resource from assigned to unassigned side(i.e right to left side) just as in case of provisioning I have put it from left to right.
    Is it the standard way of deprovisioning or am I missing something here?
    Any sort of help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    anjan

    You need to read that manual with more caution. It has all info you need.
    1. Table modification info stays in shared pool and flushed into dictionary by Oracle automatically. You can explicity do it by calling dbms_stats.flush_database_monitoring_info.
    2. dba_tab_modifications view = How many DML are applied to target table?
    dba_tab_statistics.stale_stats = Is statistics stale?
    3. When you call dbms_stats.gather... familiy, Oracle flushed the stale info to disk. You gnerally don't need to care about that.
    4. Statistics is considered to be stale, when the change is over 10% of current rows.
    (As of 11g, this value can be customized per objects. Cool feature)
    create table t_stat(id int);
    insert into t_stat select rownum from all_objects where rownum <= 100;
    commit;
    exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(user, 'T_STAT');
    select * from sys.dba_tab_modifications where table_name = 'T_STAT';
    No row selected
    select stale_stats from sys.dba_tab_statistics where table_name = 'T_STAT';
    NO
    insert into t_stat select rownum from all_objects where rownum <= 20;
    select * from sys.dba_tab_modifications where table_name = 'T_STAT';
    No rows selected <-- Oops
    select stale_stats from sys.dba_tab_statistics where table_name = 'T_STAT';
    NO  <-- Oops
    exec dbms_stats.flush_database_monitoring_info;
    select * from sys.dba_tab_modifications where table_name = 'T_STAT';

    How to integrate documentum with Enterprise portal?
    Please provide step by step material if anyone has.

    Hi Vinod,
    The reason to use Documentum can be:
    (a) Documentum is mightier then SAP KM
    (b) A company may have millions of documents stored in Documentum and does not want to migrate, but integrate these data into the portal.
    The integration can be done by using the Repository Manager, see http://software.emc.com/collateral/partners/ds_cs_sap_portal_rps_mgr.pdf
    Hope it helps

  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer for DCTM (v7)

    Hi all,
    I try installing Adobe Designer 7 for Documentum...
    When starting installation, the setup.exe returns me the following error:
    "Documentum Desktop 5.3 is not installed on this computer.
    Please install Documentum Desktop 5.3 and try again."
    I had installed Documentum Desktop 5.3 SP5 on my machine, but it seems LiveCycle Designer does not detect it...Does anybody has a workaround? I'm on Windows XP and I suppose something in the registry is different for this SP of Documentum...so, maybe if I could add this "reference" or "file", should try installing Designer properly.
    Let me know your opinion.
    By the way...I cannot go back to SP4 of DCTM Desktop.
    Thank you in advance and Regards,
    Tanguy

    OK. I found the solution.
    Indeed, the Designer HAS TO BE installed with the Documentum Desktop 5.3 SP4. Which installed the DFC 5. When installing Desktop 5.3 SP5 instead of SP4, it seems that the registry entries or files are missing and the Deisgner cannot find the Documentum Desktop installation (maybe something is different in the installation procedure of the Destkop application).
    Then,...if you want installing DCTM Desktop 5.3 SP5 with Adobe Designer 7, I strongly recommend installing Desktop 5.3 SP4 first, then installing Adobe designer 7 with the DCTM plugin, next, uninstall SP4 and install SP5 in the same directory as the previous installation. I tried it and it worked perfectly!
    Hope this helps some of you.
    Regards,
    Tanguy
